  • Best practice to modularise a large Grails app?

    Hi all, A Grails app I'm working on is becoming pretty big, and it would be good to refactor it into several modules, so that we don't have to redeploy the whole thing every time. In your opinion, what is the best practice to split a Grails app in several modules? In particular I'd like to create a package of domain classes + relevant services and use it in the app as a module. Is this possible? Is it possible to do it with plugins? Cheers, Mulone

  • which way is correct to retrive data from oracle??

    before answer me plz thinking about the futures of these kind of program and answer me plz. I wanna get some data from oracle server like: 1-get all the function,package,procedure and etc for showing them or drop them & etc... 2-compile my *.sql files,get the result if they have problem & etc... becuz I was beginner in oracle first of all I for solve the second problem I try to connect to sqlPlus by RUN sqlplus and trace the output(I mean,I change the output stream of shell and trace what happend and handle the assigned message to customer. NOW THIS PART SUCCEED. just a little bit I have problem with get all result because the output is asynchronous.any way... [in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file? IF your answer is I must use the first way follow this part plz: do u have any Idea for how I parse the output?because for example the result of a table is so confusing...[i can handle & program it but I really need someone experience,because the important things to me learn how such software work so nice and with quick response?] All of the has different style in output...   • Error "iertutil.dll not found" after installing IE8

    I rolled out IE8 to a group of test users in our organisation overnight, and after logging in in the morning, several of the users reported the error Userinit.exe error and explorer.exe error - iertutil.dll not found After clicking OK, the PC just hangs with the background visible. A few people are reporting this error in various forums, but "do a system restore" is not a good solution. We can easily roll back to IE6 by replacing the DLL, or by uninstalling IE8. We just need a flawless rollout! We're on Windows XP Service Pack 3. Edit: We deploy via SMS. Initially we had 2 machines with the error, but somebody made a mistake with the test package and it rolled out five nights in a row. By the end of the five nights, 4 more machines had developed the same issue.

  • Using PyUNO on Windows and CentOS

    Is there any way to use OpenOffice's PyUNO without using the version of Python that comes with OpenOffice? I mean, can I install a package (on Windows and CentOS) that uses the version of Python that's already on the server? I'm trying to use OpenOffice in headless mode so that I can do document conversion with a script (ultimately on a hosted server running CentOS) but my development work is being done on Windows and occassionally the Mac). I'm having nothing but trouble getting this to work.

  • VMware Infrastructure Web Access 2.0.0 stuck at "Loading"

    We have a Ubuntu 11 server running VMware virtual machines. We manage it using VMware Infrastructure Web Access 2.0.0. My colleague is able to use it successfully with Internet Explorer 9. However, I am stuck with an empty login page that says "Loading" in the title when trying to connect. It happens in all browsers (IE9, Firefox, Chrome, Opera). My colleague also gets stuck at "Loading" if he tries another browser. How can I resolve this problem?

  • Why does the CPU usage reach 100% when laptop is plugged in?

    I have an HP Elitebook 8440p with Windows 7 Ultimate, i7 Processor and 8 GB RAM. For the last couple of days, when I plug-in my laptop for charging, the CPU usage shoots up to 100% and remains there for around 15 minutes. No offending process shows up in Task Manager/Process Explorer but the laptop is practically unusable for that time. The CPU usage becomes normal when I remove the power cord but shoots up again when plugged back. This is happening with different power adapters/wall sockets so it might not be a faulty adapter issue. Why is this happening and any pointer to resolve this issue?

    Forgive me for being a little naive perhaps, but it seems that System.Windows.Controls.DataVisualization.Charting has vanished from VS2010, and blend 4. I'm trying to make a bar graph with a line overlayed, but can't even get started because I can't find the appropriate controls. I know I could use an external graphing package, but I'd like to try the inbuilt controls first.

  • Graphviz for documentation.

    I noticed that doxygen uses the graphviz library for creating diagrams. Have you ever used graphviz for generating documentation? Is it worth learning the graphviz for documentation purposes outside the scope of doxygen? Or am I better off to sticking with a standard data modeling package like Visio? I understand the merits of it as a graphing library, but for trying to represent more complex UML (or similar) is it still worth looking into?

  • Is there a way to disable specific Spybot Immunization rules?

    I've been having problems using a desktop sharing application, which I've traced to the Immunization protections applied via Spybot S&D. Specifically, the problem has been narrowed down to the rules in the \SOFTWARE (Plugins) categories under the Internet Explorer groups. Once I disable these Immunization categories, everything in the application works fine. Each of these categories appears to include ~900 protections on the system. I suspect that the root cause of my problems could be narrowed down to just one, or perhaps a handful, of the settings that get applied in these categories. However, I can't find any options in Spybot S&D which would allow me to drill down to the individual protection rules and choose which to enable or disable. Is there something I'm missing, or is this not a feature available via the GUI? If it's not strictly supported in the application, is there a way to work around it by manually editing some of its files or registry settings?   • hardware: delay and distinct 'click' before hard drive access

    I have a windows 7 box stashed away in my closet, containing (among other things) 2 big HDDs linked together as a mirrored volume - basically a super lazy NAS / media server. I've noticed that when that drive is accessed (whether locally, on the machine itself, or remotely, from another computer, or my xbox, for example) there's a noticeable pause, and then from the computer itself, a 'click!' noise, after which the drive is accessed; e.g. open \\computername\shared\, wait 2 seconds, hear 'click!' and then see files appear in windows explorer. Any ideas? Otherwise the drive preforms normally - is it a windows thing? a HDD-about-to-die thing? Or a "yeah that always happens, you've just never noticed it before" thing?

  • Trojan infection help please

    Hey, I was browsing some websites and somehow obtained a trojan through some sort of silent download. Google Chrome started acting funny and wouldn't load web pages and neither would internet explorer. Only Firefox worked. I rebooted my computer and as usual logged into my email account as well as my bank account online completely forgetting about the infection. Could my information have been sent to the person or people or wrote the trojan? I downloaded Zone Alarm and took care of the issue, I'm just worried about when I absentmindedly logged into my email account and bank account online while I was infected.

    I use msysgit on Windows to use git, but I often want to navigate through a Windows-style *.lnk shortcut. I typically manage my file structure through Windows' explorer, so using a different type of shortcut (such as creating hard or soft link in git) isn't feasible. How would I navigate through this type of shortcut?   • Windows 2003-R2-Server: Process "System" takes large chunks of CPU time

    I have a domain controller running 2003 R2. The server behaves very well when restarted daily, however, each day it is not restarted, there's a process called "System" that takes enourmous chunks of CPU time (up to 95%). The server supports AD, WINS, DNS, has Kaspersky Endpoint Security running, and manages backups via Arcserve 15. When I tried so far: Process Explorer (ex-Sysinternals) shows that the "System" process has no sub-processes. In the "Threads" tab of the detailled view I can see that 90% of the CPU time is used up by "ntkrnlpa.exe+0x803c0". The "Interrupts" process is running at 3-5% of CPU time, I'm not sure if this accounts for the amount of CPU time that System takes.

  • Good free software to track and graph memory and CPU usage on Windows?

    There are many questions on Linux memory tracking, but I haven't seen any for Windows. In my case however its a Windows XP Pro box I need to track the memory and CPU usage of. The reason I need it is due to a server program I'm trying that is eating all my processor and some of my memory which is freezing my RDP session and System Explorer and even makes it difficult to login physically. As this is a very constrained server I'm working off of (768 MB RAM with Pentium 4 which disappears with this program), I need a program that doesn't run/require a webserver. I can give it a MySQL database if necessary however. Is there any suggestions for such a program?

    Is there any short way to achieve what APT does in Python ? I mean, when the package manager prompts a yes/no question followed by "[Yes/no]". The scripts accepts YES/Y/yes/y or "enter" (defaults to Yes as hinted by the capital) The only thing I find in the official doc is input/raw_input.. I know it's not that hard to emulate, but it's annoying to rewrite :|

  • Will the other directories on my C drive still be visible?

    My Windows 7 ate itself, corrupted a few files, now refuses to boot. On the same drive were other directories of various assorted non-Microsoft applications I like to use. After the crash, I have been mounting those from outside (as F:[whatever]). If I go ahead and reinstall Windows 7 on that drive and use the drive again as my primary, will those other directories be visible to it from inside? Meaning if I boot up my new installation of Windows from within that drive, will I be able to see those other old directories via Windows Explorer on the C drive (where any haven't been run over by the reinstalled OS)? Thanks for any help.
