  • New Windows 7 Install Crashing

    One big reboot crash and one smaller crash already, 15 minutes in. Did a basic install of Windows 7, installed Chrome and Firefox. I had just finished loading up my gmail account in Chrome/Firefox to show the speed difference and we'd thought it would be hilarious to see how slow IE8 was. :P Just about as IE8 was done opening, the computer's screen goes black. After a restart and a couple minutes, Explorer crashes as well. What is going on? This install is only 15-20 minutes old. :P

    before answer me plz thinking about the futures of these kind of program and answer me plz. I wanna get some data from oracle server like: 1-get all the function,package,procedure and etc for showing them or drop them & etc... 2-compile my *.sql files,get the result if they have problem & etc... becuz I was beginner in oracle first of all I for solve the second problem I try to connect to sqlPlus by RUN sqlplus and trace the output(I mean,I change the output stream of shell and trace what happend and handle the assigned message to customer. NOW THIS PART SUCCEED. just a little bit I have problem with get all result because the output is asynchronous.any way... [in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file? IF your answer is I must use the first way follow this part plz: do u have any Idea for how I parse the output?because for example the result of a table is so confusing...[i can handle & program it but I really need someone experience,because the important things to me learn how such software work so nice and with quick response?] All of the has different style in output...     I'm trying to bind a jar library (jCIFS) on MFA, but i'm stuck on some errors, like this one: 'Jcifs.Util.MD4' does not implement inherited abstract member 'Java.Security.MessageDigestSpi.EngineDigest() After some research, i found some topics about this, telling to edit the metadata to change the permissions of the classes, like this: <attr path="/api/package[@name='java.security']/class[@name='MessageDigestSpi']/method[@name='engineDigest']" name="visibility">public</attr> But the error didn't change, and a still won't get what this error means. Anyone ? Thanks.

  • How can I force the Pictures app to refresh its library?

    I've imported some pictures to my "My Pictures" folder using Adobe Lightroom, but the Pictures app doesn't seem to notice the new files? Is there some way to force it to refresh its library? To be clear, Pictures are sorted under C:\Users\<username>\Pictures\ by year, then date; for example: C:\Users\<username>\Pictures\2012\2012-10-20, these show, however those in C:\Users\<username>\Pictures\2012\2012-10-29 do not, despite coming from the same camera, being in the same format, thumbnails working in Exporer, the pictures opening in the Pictures app via a double click in explorer, and Windows Media Centre having no problems. I have tried excluding the Pictures library, and reincluding it, but that had no effect. It has taken three or four reboots for even the folders to show up in the app, but it reports them as empty

  • NTFS Folder has no owner, no permissions, can't be deleted

    Hi, I have a folder a 2003 member server which can't be deleted. Nothing has any permissions (domain admin and running up a cmd prompt as "nt authority\system" using psexec) - always "access denied". When I do a dir /q, the owner shows as "...". I've tried takeown.exe on the folder and also it's parent. The bad folder always reports "access denied". Also tried to reset using icacls, same thing. Explorer permissons has no sharing & security options or tabs. It works fine for other folders, even in the same directory. Bit stumped to say the least. g.

  • Enable a program in Windows to run multiple times?

    I've got this legacy software that only allows you to run one copy at a time, it detects that you have another session opened and it won't allow you to open a second instance. The problem is this is a cpu intensive program and it only use a single core. Is there any hacks or tweaks so I can trick it and open more than one instance? This would allow me to retire about 5 servers... I'm using Windows 2008 R2. I had to use cff explorer to enable the use more than 2GB RAM as the program crashes when it tries to use more than 2GB.

  • Accessing MySQL server via VPN in python

    Hi I have a MySQL server that I need access through a VPN. I use MySQLdb package to access MySQL server in Python. When I can access the server without VPN, it works fine, but when I'm at certain locations, I need to connect through VPN. My computer is connected to the VPN and I can access the database through PHPMyAdmin, but MySQLdb gives me an error message: OperationalError: (2003, "Can't connect to MySQL server on 'MY_IP' (10061)") Any ideas on why it's not working?   • How can we implement network search for Windows AND OS X clients?

    We have a network with Windows 7 and OS X (10.5 and 10.6) computers. Our servers run on Windows Server 2003 (1 Small Business Server, 2 Standard). We need to be able to search through about 15.000 - 30.000 documents in our archives. The best solution would be if users can search directly from the Windows menu (on Windows 7) or the Spotlight menu (on OS X 10.5 and 10.6). Also good would be if users can search directly from the search bar in their browsers, or by first visiting a site with the search form. In case the users search through the browser, it's important they they are able to open a file in the search results just by clicking on it. I have tested Microsoft Search Server Express, but it doesn't meet the requirements (no OS X support, results in the browser can't be opened by clicking in anything but Internet Explorer). I have looked at Spotlight server, but that only supports OS X. Thanks!

  • Windows 7: enabling navigation of subfolders in pinned Start Menu folders

    I'm just about to move from Windows XP to Windows 7, and I'm struggling with some of the interface changes. In XP, I was able to throw a folder intoC:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menuand have it appear on the Start Menu, complete with the ability to navigate through subfolders. I've figured out how to pin a folder onto the Start Menu in Windows 7, which required a registry hack. However, I am unable to view the subfolders of the pinned folder without opening a new Windows Explorer window. Is there any way to replicate the old XP behavior I'm used to? I'd like to be only a single click away from these handful of application links and folders, since I use them all the time throughout the day.

    Is there any Application for Windows to do next think: I click url in Skype or html file in Explorer. Application is default "fake" browser, i.e. registered as default browser. Application shows several buttons. Each button represents installed or running browser. I can choose real browser, click it and specific url opened in chosen real browser . Quick search not revealed such Application. Context: I work in environment where some sites work in specific browsers. I get clickable urls from different applications. Sometimes I want to launch specific browser to use specific addin of it against url provided. I have specific portable "secured" browser I want to launch only for trusted sites.

    I'm on Windows 7 ultimate 32bit + xampp 1.7.2 [MySQL v5.1.37] This is my stored procedure : delimiter // CREATE PROCEDURE updatePoints(IN parentid INT(5),IN userid INT(5)) DECLARE chpoints INT(5); BEGIN SELECT points INTO chpoints FROM quiz_challenges WHERE id = parentid; UPDATE quiz_users SET points = points + chpoints WHERE forumid=userid; END; // delimiter ; At first it was showing error 1064 while creating stored procedure. I added delimiters part and when I tried running the query from phpmyadmin, Firefox went into not responding state. After that I started Internet Explorer and tried opening my pages which use the same database, it worked fine. However, I tried opening phpmyadmin and IE went into not responding state as well. I restarted both servers. Later restarted PC. Tried again but its same behavior. So whats wrong with this tiny little code ? Am I missing something which might be causing infinite loop ? Thanks

    Using axis1 it is possible to log incoming/outgoing soap messages by adding logging on HTTPSender in log4j.properties. After migrating to axis2 (version 1.4.1) I have a hard time figuring out how to accomplish the same kind of logging. I have tried to add logging on the axis2 package and org.apache.commons.httpclient but no logging is provided. Any ideas? TIA

    here as it's locked over there; I hope it belongs in this forum; Is it possible to open .lnk (windows shortcut) in a hex editor, and change the absolut shortcut path into a relative one? Can we do this is windows? The edit command in cmd can open link files but it's difficult to read and edit. Is there any hex editor in windows that can open lnk file and allow me to edit it? Do I need to take it to linux or does Linux recognize .lnk as a shortcut too? I want to do this not only for running exe files, but also for pointing to folders (that is, shortcut to folders). A batch file which executes explorer.exe with the target folder as parameter can do this actually, but I want to know if there is any way to actually edit the data in the .lnk file itself

  • Copy-paste stops working on Windows 7

    Copy-paste functionality stops working after about an hour after each reboot on a Windows 7 64-bit system. Running Google Chrome (with gmail and few other tabs open like Calendar, Reader), MS Outlook (which I don't think has anything to do with the problem — I saw it when outlook was off as well), iTunes (9.1.1.12 if it matters). Would appreciate hints where and what for to look in a registry, and ideas for possible fix. That is not an Internet Explorer problem (I don't even run it) — it happens in all applications. Neither Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V nor context menu right-click Copy-Paste (actually, nothing happens on Copy, so there is nothing in a clipboard to Paste) are working. Drag-and-Drop (where supported) continues working though.

  • Outlook 2010 on Windows 7 crashes - ieframe.dll

    Outlook 2010 is crashing rather randomly, not at any specific time like opening a preview pane or message. Event viewer gives the following Faulting application name: OUTLOOK.EXE, version: 14.0.6131.5000, time stamp: 0x509b1020 Faulting module name: ieframe.dll, version: 9.0.8112.16464, time stamp: 0x50ec98f5 Similar events have been logged only with URLMON.DLL, but with ieframe.dll more frequent. I'm looking where to start with this problem, and I'm starting with running outlook in safe mode using Outlook /safe from the start menu. Further complicating this issue are 2 programs syncing email to other calenders. Should I start with these additional programs that are syncing email as being possible culprits? Or does this have to do with Internet Explorer because of the DLL associated with these crashes? I've tried regsvr32 with both DLL's mentioned, with ieframe being unsuccessful. So my question is: what's causing Outlook to crash?

  • Can't Remote into Windows Server

    Hello, I have a Dell server wired into the router. I was able to connect to it with my laptop (laptop is wireless) before my router died. My verizon router went kaput, and I got everything else back up and running on the wireless network other than the remoting in feature, even though I can access the server through windows explorer just fine. Any ideas why? What do I need to check? UPDATE: Interesting scenario, Network Discovery is off; I turn it on and save, but for some reason, even after that, network discovery is turning itself off... no idea why that is happening? Thanks.

    Is there any way to simulate the absence of a gem for certain unit tests, short of actually uninstalling and then reinstalling the gem during testing? I am writing a command line utility, and want to make sure that my tests cover cases where a user may not have all of the gems that I support. For instance, I am using fsevents — a Leopard-specific package for monitoring filesystem events — that will never be present on other systems, as well as a growl gem that's purely optional.

  • unable to kill process / logout on windows server 2003

    My own console .net application stuck in a "ghost" stage. It just shows a window that i can't close. It doesn't show up as a process in the task manager. when i try to "find windows process" using Process Explorer (from sysinternals) it says there is no process that owns that window or something like that. The problem is that it doesn't allow me to logout or reboot the server (remotely) because logoff process keeps waiting on that window to close. shutdown /r /f also is stuck waiting for it. I can probably have somebody go an reboot the server but i'd like to know if there is a way to close that process, close that session or force logout remotely. This is windows server 2003, but i had the same issue on XP just a few days ago.

  • Concurrent wireless and wired network

    Hi, I am concerned with maintaining a wireless and wired network connection on my laptop. Basically I can change the metric on each interface so that Windows prefers one connection over the other. I am wondering is following scenario possible.... Some applications uses the wireless while other applications use the wired... I want Internet Explorer (only) to use the wireless connection while Outlook and everything else uses the wired connection. Perhaps adding some lines to the routing table might work? - Adding the ip addresses of websites I want to view via the wireless connection? Many Thanks in advance for any replies!
