    I am attempting to create a list in XSL-FO using a square bracket. I have been able to get it working using the standard unicode bullet character (&#8226;) but I just can't seem to get it working for square brackets. I have tried using &#9632;, but that does not seem to work.     I have a list of Filemaker database names Each DB name has a list of field/attribute pairs associated with it I have a windows form application in C# 4.0 (vs2010) that wants to use the above data I would like to maintain the list either in the Visual Studio settings page, or in one of the standard visual studio settings files using the standard .NET settings calls I would like to avoid writing my own custom settings, xml, xds (to avoid the "Could not find schema information for the element/attribute " errors) I just have a slightly complicated INI file! I don't want to complicate my life! Do any easy solutions exist? Unless someone has a brighter idea, I am simply going to write string settings with names that indicate it's a FM DB (e.g. "fmdbAddresses"), and values that concat my field/attribute pairs (e.g. "gUserResult=skipField|gAddressID=convertToInt|gAddressID=uniqueIx")

    I have a Categories table in which each category has a ParentId that can refer to any other category's CategoryId that I want to display as multi-level HTML list, like so: <ul class="tree"> <li>Parent Category <ul> <li>1st Child Category <!-- more sub-categories --> </li> <li>2nd Child Category <!-- more sub-categories --> </li> </ul> </li> </ul> Presently I am recursively rendering a partial view and passing down the next category. It works great, but it's wrong because I'm executing queries in a view. How can I render the list into a tree object and cache it for quick display every time I need a list of all hierarchical categories?

    Hello, I've recently been bitten by the (way too commmon in my opinion) gotcha of Concat returns it's result, rather than appending to the list itself. For instance. List<Control> mylist=new List<Control>; //.... after adding Controls into mylist MyPanel.Controls.Concat(mylist); //This will not affect MyPanel.Controls at all. MyPanel.Controls=MyPanel.Controls.Concat(mylist); //This is what is needed, but the Controls reference can not be reassigned (for good reason) So is there some other way of combining two lists that will work when the collection reference is read-only? Is the only way to do this with a foreach? foreach(var item in mylist){ MyPanel.Controls.Add(item); } Is there a better way without the foreach?

  • Make CSRF middleware work in Django's 404 error pages

    I put a login box alone with a keyword search box in 404.html in a Django project so in case a 404 error is raised, visitors get more options to jump to other parts. But the CSRF middleware doesn't work in 404 error page with no csrf token rendered. I tried move 'django.middleware.csrf.CsrfViewMiddleware' to first of MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES in settings.py but did not work either. Anyone knows a solution?

Is there a way to vectorize the process - that is, the function produces the correct element in the list for each of the elements of the input?   • Install iphone sdk DMG file on iMac but I can't find where any of the programs are located

    I just download the iPhone DMG file from apple and installed in on my new iMac (by following these directions: link text). The problem is, I can't seem to find where any of the programs got installed. I can't find XCode or Interface Builder in the applications list and everytime I click on the "iPhone SDK" icon in the applications list, it re-opens finder with the same packages that I am trying to install. P/S: I am completely new to the the Mac world so I might be doing everything completely wrong.

    hi, i am trying to show a list of users of my application "school", when admin logs in then he can view all the users in list but when school principals logins, he should get only users of his school, So i thought to get the current loggedIn userId first and then by that userId i'll get schoolId since userId is foreign key in school table...once i'll get the schoolId i can show the members of that school. But my problem is how to get the UserID of currently loggedIn.     I am trying to make an export of a list in SharePoint to an Excel spreadsheet. I have added all needed fields to my default view of the list, (like Publishing Start Date / End date) but some fields (like Publishing Start Date / End date) don't show up in Excel. Any idea? EDIT: My setup is a MOSS standard edition, the needed fields (Publishing Start Date / End date) are standard SharePoint publishing fields. The versions of Excel I tried it with are 2003 and 2007

    I am using a dropdown list as follows. <%=Html.DropDownList("ddl", ViewData["Available"] as SelectList, new { CssClass = "input-config", onchange = "this.form.submit();" })%> On its selection change I am invoking post action. After the post the same page is shown on which this drop down is present. I want to know about the HTML attribute for the drop down which will let me preserve the list selection change. But as of now the list shows its first element after the post. e.g. The dropdoen contains elements like 1,2,3,etc. By default 1 is selected. If I select 2, the post is invoked and the same page is shown again but my selection 2 goes and 1 is selected again. How can preserve the selection? Thanks, Kapil

    Consider the following method signature: public static bool TryGetPolls(out List<Poll> polls, out string errorMessage) This method performs the following: accesses the database to generate a list of Poll objects. returns true if it was success and errorMessage will be an empty string returns false if it was not successful and errorMessage will contain an exception message. Is this good style? Update: Lets say i do use the following method signature: public static List<Poll> GetPolls() and in that method, it doesn't catch any exceptions (so i depend the caller to catch exceptions). How do i dispose and close all the objects that is in the scope of that method? As soon as an exception is thrown, the code that closes and disposes objects in the method is no longer reachable.

    I have a UIScrollView that is displaying a list of data. Right now, when the user adds one more item to the list, I can extend the content size of the UIScrollView and scroll down smoothly using setContentOffset and YES to animated. When the user removes an item from the list, I want to resize the content size of the UIScrollView, and scroll back up one step also in an animated fashion. How can I get the ordering right? Right now, if I resize the content size before scrolling back up, the scroll isn't animated. I tried scrolling back up before resizing the content size, but that still didn't give a smooth transition. Is there a way to finish the scrolling animation BEFORE resizing the content size? Thanks

  • horizontal scrolling only!

    Hi all i have a that contains a HORIZONTAL menu. the menu consists of an unordered list. i would like the div to get a horizontal scroller whenever the menu exceeds the width of the <div>. i tried using these CSS definitions for my <div>: position: absolute; width: 380px; overflow: auto; overflow-y: hidden; height: 30px; but than realized that since the menu is LIST, the different list items break the line whenever they reach the width of the <div> and move on to the next line, thus the browser doesnt see the need for a horizontal scroller (it doesnt display a vertical one as well because of the overflow-y: hidden; line) any ideas how i can create a 1 line horizontal menu which will scroll horizontally only? thank you all so much.
