  • case sensititivity with users controller on certain hosting

    We generally use two different hosting services. On one, everything works ticketyboo, as it does on my local dev servers. On the other server, however, I am having this problem: I can't access the users controller like this: http://www.example.com/users/login But I can like this: http://www.example.com/Users/login ** note the capitalised 'Users' ** If I displace the application to a sub-folder everything works fine (both upper- and lowercase). The hosting company have looked at it and can't see a problem at their end and they assure me that users is not a reserved word. You might say this isn't a problem, just use the version that works. Unfortunately it leads to problems downstream where Cake core starts generating urls itself. Anybody else seen this problem or know the solution? [This only occurs on the users controller - all others work as expected]

  • Same Salt, Different Encrypted Password is not working? Using Linq to update password.

    Hello, I am running into a wall regarding changing the password and was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Here are the database values prior to changing the password: Clear Text password = abc1980 Encrypted Password = Yn1N5l+4AUqkOM3WYO7ww/sCN+o= Salt = 82qVIhUIoblBRIRvFSZ1fw== After I change my password to abc1973, salt remains the same, but the Encrypted Password changes which is supposed to happen: Encrypted Password = rHtjLq3qxAl/7T1GfkxrsHzPsNk= However, when I try to login with abc1973 as the password, it does not login. If I try abc1980, it logs me in. It is updating the database, is it caching the values somewhere? Any ideas?

    I've got a JFrame with a JPanel in which there is a JLabel with an ImageIcon(). Everything's working perfectly, problem is i now want to add another JPanel with all the other stuff like buttons and so on to the JFrame. But it still shows the background Image on top and nothing with the second JPanel. Can someone help me?   • Converting a view to Bitmap without displaying it in Android?

    Hi, I will try to explain what exactly I need to do. I have 3 separate screens say A,B,C. There is another screen called say HomeScreen where all the 3 screens bitmap should be displayed in Gallery view and the user can select in which view does he wants to go. I have been able to get the Bitmaps of all the 3 screens and display it in Gallery view by placing all the code in HomeScreen Activity only. Now, this has complicated the code a lot and I will like to simplify it. So, can I call another Activity from HomeScreen and do not display it and just get the Bitmap of that screen. For example, say I just call HomeScreen and it calls Activity A,B,C and none of the Activities from A,B,C are displayed. It just gives the Bitmap of that screen by getDrawingCache(). And then we can display those bitmaps in Gallery view in HomeScreen. I hope I have explained the problem very clearly. Please let me know if this is actually possible. Regards Sunil

    Hi, I followed the instructions on http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress under 'Moving WordPress to a New Server' and 'If You Want Your Old Blog To Still Work' So I made a copy of everything marked is as old, then changed the domain under the WP settings, made a new copy. And now put the first copy back but when I go to the login page I can reach it, but it's without the usual markup as first. It's all skinned out. After I login, worpress uses the new domain instead of the old domain which the old copy of wordpress used!! what went wrong?? thanks.

However, I tried changing the order of some GL calls like so: GLuint vbo; glGenBuffers(1, &vbo); glUseProgram(myProgram); glEnableVertexAttribArray(0); glVertexAttribPointer(0, 4, GL_FLOAT, GL_FALSE, 0, 0); //Now comes after the setting of the vertex attributes. glBindBuffer(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, vbo); //Fill up my VBO with vertex data glBufferData(GL_ARRAY_BUFFER, sizeof(vertexes), &vertexes, GL_STATIC_DRAW); /*Draw to the screen*/ This crashes my program. Why does there need to be a VBO bound to GL_ARRAY_BUFFER while I'm just setting up vertex attributes? To me, what glVertexAttribPointer does is just set up the format of vertexes that OpenGL will eventually use to draw things. It is not specific to any VBO. Thus, if multiple VBOs wanted to use the same vertex format, you would not need to format the vertexes in the VBO again.

  • Styling related issue in IE8

    I am using a background image to display as a button. The button shows up well in all versions of firefox, chrome, opera etc. However, the image fails to render itself in IE8. Only the image is not being shown, some of the other class styling gets applied such as width, height etc. Even more confounding is that in another page(though a different class and style sheet), an image of similar proportions gets displayed in similar usage. The image format is JPG. I'm copy-pasting the valid style attributes for both cases as shown by firebug below. If user clicks text-input, it's prompt should disappear to allow typing. I have seen various examples, that uses background image with prerendered text on it.     Ok, so I am making a multiplayer game. I am working out the kinks in the server/client connectivity system. I can't seam to work out this error. Mainly, my server code does the following: Accepts Client Using SocketServer Module CLIENT -- SERVER sends Login byte (1 byte) + login username and password (200 bytes) SERVER request for 1 byte by struct.calcsize('b') CLIENT has exception on read SERVER recieves byte from CLIENT and sends CLIENT a struct packed byte with the value of 4 SERVER has exception on send So, it is the client excepting. The client exception is: socket.error: (10054, 'Connection reset by peer') And the server error is this: error: (9, 'Bad file descriptor')

    Is there an easy way (or a module) in Drupal to distinguish between anonymous users who have never created an account versus those who are returning but are not currently logged in? For non-returning (ie, completely new) users, I'd like to have a front page that is very streamlined and focused on registration as the call-to-action. However, if someone is a returning user but not currently logged in, I'd like to present a lot more information on the front page and have login as the main call-to-action. I realize both pages would still need to have both login and register options available, I just want to make the focus significantly different between the two.

    My vendor offers a widget creation service where I can login to their page, set initial values of a search form, after the save button is clicked, I can copy & paste the script code on my website to display a product search result widget. I am thinking to change this static widget to a dynamic one. Since my programming knowledge is limited, can experts tell me if it's possible to login https remotely (using cURL) and set search form values equal to values on my page (every time my page content changes, it will change the form value), then save the form. So the widget script I pasted on my page will always be refreshed to new search result. So the issue will involve cross domain, form submission & server/browser communication. I know a little jQuery, PHP, Ajax, cURL but so far I stuck with just having an idea but not really sure how to implement it.

If I press escape it and hide the login prompt once and then If I try to go the particular website again it doesn't show the login prompt again. I try "flush all caches" But it doesn't work until I close my terminal and get a new one. Is there any other way to get over with this? This should be a simple question.     I'm unable to get static routes to persist a reboot on Mac OS 10.6.5. I've tried all of the methods prescribed in Google search results, and previous posts on this site. I've tried manually creating a launchd daemon, and used RouteSplit's launchd daemon to no avail. It's clear that the interface is not ready when these methods attempt to apply the route. This workstation in question is getting its IP from DHCP and probably hasn't gotten its DHCP lease when the command runs. We're able to apply the route by hand when logged in, but not through startup methods. Is there another way to apply this route by sneaking the command into something later, but before the login window appears to the user? Here is some relevant log info from system.log. You can see the "route: writing to routing socket: Network is unreachable" errors where my launchd script fires off. I've tried adding extra "sleep" and "ipconfig waitall" statements later in the script but this doesn't fly.   • nginx: problem configuring a proxy_pass

    I'm converting a web app from apache to nginx. In apache's httpd.conf I have: ProxyPass /proxy/ http:// ProxyPassReverse /proxy/ http:// The idea is the client send this url: http://web-server-domain/proxy/login-server-addr/loginUrl.php?user=xxx&pass=yyy and the web server calls: http://login-server-addr/loginUrl.php?user=xxx&pass=yyy My nginx.conf is attached below and it is not working. At the moment it looks like it is calling the server, but returning an application error. This seems promising but any attempt to debug this failed! I can't trace any of the calls as nginx refuses to place them in the error file. Also, placing echo statement on the login server did not help either which is weird. The nginx documentation isn't very helpful about this. Any suggestion on how to configure a proxy_pass?   • Sharepoint AD imported users are becomming sporadically corrupted, causing us to have to create a new account

    Sharepoint 2007 MOSS with AD imported users. All servers are 2008. ***UPDATE More details in testing. This Sharepoint is in an AD Child domain (clients.mycompany.local), which is sub to the root of the AD tree (mycompany.local). The user is in the parent tree (as are half of the other functional users. I have elevated the user rights to Domain. In looking at the logs, it seems that the Sharepoint server is trying to authenticate them by querying the DC for the clients domain (which is the way it normally works and still works for all existing identically configured users). I think if I could force it to authenticate up to the top domain DC then it would be ok?? I have around 50 users, over the past 2 months, I have had a handful of the users suddenly unable to login to Sharepoint. When they login, they either get a blank screen or they are repropmted. These users are using accounts that have been used for many months, sometimes the problem originates with a password change. In all cases, the users account works on every other Active Directory authenticated resource (domain, exchange, LDAP). In the most recent case, last night I was forced deleted a user ("John smith") because of corruption. The orifinal account name was jsmith. I deleted him from active directory, then deleted him from the profile list in Sharepoint Shared Services. I could not find a way to delete him from the Sharepoint user list, but I reran the import after recreating his account (renamed it too just to be sure to "smithj"). At first, this did not wor, the user could still access all other resources but Sharepoint. then, some 30 minutes later it inexplicably started working. This morning, the user changed passwords, which immediatly broke the login on Sharepoint again.   • Persistent static routes fail on MacOS 10.6.5 startup!

    I'm unable to get static routes to persist a reboot on Mac OS 10.6.5. I've tried all of the methods prescribed in Google search results, and previous posts on this site. I've tried manually creating a launchd daemon, and used RouteSplit's launchd daemon to no avail. It's clear that the interface is not ready when these methods attempt to apply the route. This workstation in question is getting its IP from DHCP and probably hasn't gotten its DHCP lease when the command runs. We're able to apply the route by hand when logged in, but not through startup methods. Is there another way to apply this route by sneaking the command into something later, but before the login window appears to the user? Here is some relevant log info from system.log. You can see the "route: writing to routing socket: Network is unreachable" errors where my launchd script fires off. I've tried adding extra "sleep" and "ipconfig waitall" statements later in the script but this doesn't fly.   • Ubuntu 10.04: OpenVZ Kernel and pure-ftpd issues on HOST (no guest setup yet)

    After compiling and installing the OpenVZ flavour of kernel under Ubuntu 10.04, I am unable to browse to certain directories when connecting to the pure-ftpd server. The clients are dropping into PASSIVE mode, which is fine. This behaviour was happening before the change of kernel, however now when I browse to certain directories the connection just gets dropped. This only happens with a few directories under one login (web in specific), where as with another login it happens as soon as I connect. I've got the nf_conntrack_ftp kernel module installed (required to keep track of passive FTP connections as I understand, and an alias of the ip_conntrack_ftp module), however this has provided no alleviation of my problem. This module was actually required upon initial setup of my OS to get passive FTP working correctly, however when I compiled the OpenVZ kernel a lot of these modules were missing (iptables, conntrack etc). I recompiled the kernel with the missing modules, but to no effect. I've turned verbosity for the pure-ftpd server up, and still no clues have been spotted in either syslog or the transfer log. Neither did an strace provide any clues (that I could discern anyway) - although one strange thing is both in the output to the client and in the strace I notice that it does infact probe the directory and return the number of matches - it just fails after that. One more thing to mention is that if I FTP using the same credentials locally, everything works fine. This suggests that it is in fact an issue with either the conntrack_ftp module not functioning as expected, or a deeper networking issue. The Kernel was compiled and installed following the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OpenVZ - bar the changes to the Kernel configuration (such as add iptables as a module).
