• Reusing my PagedList object on WCF

  The problem: I have a custom collection PagedList<T> that is being returned from my WCF service as PagedListOfEntitySearchResultW_SH0Zpu5 when T is EntitySearchResult object. I want to reuse this PagedList<T> type between the application and the service. My scenario: I've created a PagedList<T> type that inherits from List<T>. This type is on a separated assembly that is referenced on both application and WCF service. I'm using the /reference option on the scvutil to enable the type reusing. I also don't want any arrays returned so I also use the /collection to map to the generic List type. • StackOverflowException throws often when .net application built with Debug mode

  I have an application which access an external webservice often, when i are trying to debug it, means debuging in vistual studio. it often throws out StackOverflowException at the webserverice call point. when building in Release mode , the exception thrown out only occasionally. • python blocking sockets, send returns immediately

  Hi, I am writing a multithreaded socket application in Python using the socket module. the server listens for connections and when it gets one it spawns a thread for that socket. the server thread sends some data to the client. but the client is not yet ready to receive it. • Email Verification plugin for rails?

  Hi, I'd like to verify a user's email address by sending them a verify-email-message. Do you know of a good Rails plugin that they've used or seen? Since I didn't see anything good via Google, at this point, my thought is: Add a verified boolean field to the user model. Default false. After user is added (unverified), combine email with a salt (a secret), and create the sha1 hash of the email/salt combo. The result is the verification. Send a welcoming / verification email to the user. Email includes a url that has the email address and verification as GET args to a verify action on my server. The verify action recomputes the verification using the supplied email and checks that the new verification matches the one in the url. If it does, then the User rec for the email is marked 'verified' Also will provide action to re-send the verification email. Any comments on the above? Thanks, Larry

• Getting XML parse error in coldfusion. Can the packet returned be validated?

  Getting an error on occasion on a specific CF page. Offending code listed below. Very odd because when I rebooted CF it went away. Can the XML be checked via XMLValidate to prevent this from happening? Is this some sort of CF bug since the error disappeared after reboot of CF?   I've been comparing for fun different languages for speed in execution of the following program: for i from 1 to 1000000 sum the product i*(sqrt i) One of my implementations (not the only one) is constructing a list [1..1000000] and then folding with a specific funtion. The program works fine and fast in Haskell (even when using foldl and not foldl') but stack overflows in OCaml and F#. • How to retrive message list from p2p

  Hello friends I have a messaging system that uses p2p. Each peer has a incoming message list and a outgoing message list. What I need to do is whenever a new peer will join the mesh he will get the all the incoming messages from other peers and add those into it's own incoming message list. Now I know when I get the other peer info from I can ask them to give their own list to me. But I'm not finding the way how..? Any suggestion on this or help would be highly appreciated. • Understanding pattern matching with cons operator

  In "Programming F#" I came across a pattern-matching like this one (I simplified a bit): let rec len list = match list with | [] -> 0 | [_] -> 1 | head :: tail -> 1 + len tail;; Practically, I understand that the last match recognizes the head and tail of the list. Conceptually, I don't get why it works. As far as I understand, :: is the cons operator, which appends a value in head position of a list, but it doesn't look to me like it is being used as an operator here. Should I understand this as a "special syntax" for lists, where :: is interpreted as an operator or a "match pattern" depending on context? Or can the same idea be extended for types other than lists, with other operators?

  I wrote a .asmx web service which I'm trying to consume from a java client. I'm using axis2's wsdl2java to generate code. But it says that the wsdl is invalid. What exactly is the problem here? It is .net which generated the wsdl automatically after all. Are there problems with wsdl standards, rather the lack of them? What can I do now?   I am interested in an implementation of the sieve of eratosthenes in purely functional F#. I am interested in an implementation of the actual sieve, not the naive functional implementation that isn't really the sieve, so not something like this: let rec PseudoSieve list = match list with | hd::tl -> hd :: (PseudoSieve <| List.filter (fun x -> x % hd <> 0) tl) | [] -> [] The second link above briefly describes an algorithm that would require the use of a multimap, which isn't available in F# as far as I know. The Haskell implementation given uses a map that supports an insertWith method, which I haven't seen available in the F# functional map. Does anyone know a way to translate the given Haskell map code to F#, or perhaps knows of alternative implementation methods or sieving algorithms that are as efficient and better suited for a functional implementation or F#?

  I was trying to solve this problem on SPOJ (http://www.spoj.pl/problems/REC/) F(n) = a*F(n-1) + b where we have to find F(n) Mod (m) where 0 <= a, b, n <= 10^100 1 <= M <= 100000 I am trying to solve it with BigInteger in JAVA but if I run a loop from 0 to n its getting TLE. How could I solve this problem? Can anyone give some hint? Don't post the solution. I want hint on how to solve it efficiently.

  I want to write a function that could check every item in a list is true or false. If at least one element is false, it will return true, so that: assert_eq "checkFalse [true; false; true]" (checkFalse [true; true; true]) false; assert_eq "checkFalse [false; false]" (checkFalse [false; true]) true; I am an absolute beginner in OCaml and I don't know how to approach this. I tried using a for loop, something like: let rec checkFalse (bools: bool list) : bool = for i = 0 to bools.length do if bools.length == false then false else... (I don't know how to continue) Then it said "Unbound record field...." I also tried using find like: if (find false bools != Not_found) then true else false But my ways did not work.
