  I'm trying to set up winbind with an Active Directory running on Win2003. This works: net rpc user -S SOMEDOMAIN -U Administrator Password: Administrator ASPNET Demo Guest IUSR_SERVER20 IWAM_SERVER20 krbtgt RemoteUser SUPPORT_388945a0 This does not: wbinfo -u Error looking up domain users From the winbindd log: [2012/05/31 16:45:38, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_ads.c:ads_cached_connection(128) ads_connect for domain SOMEDOMAIN failed: Operations error [2012/05/31 16:46:38, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:trustdom_recv(230) Could not receive trustdoms ADS is not working with this domain. Why is winbind trying to use it instead of RPC? How can I force it to use only RPC and for all of this to work?

• PHP not displaying any errors

  I've got ubuntu 10.04 installed, as well as: lighttpd mysql/php Now my problem is that my php scripts can be executed and has access to MySQL database, however I'm having problems getting php to display all errors when running. The result of a failed php run is a blank page. I tried setting the display errors on in php.ini in /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini I've also tried adding these two lines in the source to force errors on, to no avail. ini_set('display_errors', '1'); error_reporting(E_ALL); What should I do? • Default Webcam Driver Issues

  I'm having troubles getting my monitor-attached webcam (ASUS VK248H) to install on my new computer. On the old computer, it was a matter of not using a USB 3.0 port, but I can't get anything to work on the new one. I have tried all manner of uninstalling/reinstalling the driver and resetting the computer, as well as literally every USB port on the computer (14 in total). It's not that windows isn't recognizing the device; it most certainly is. However, comparing it to the old computer's driver details, on the new computer, it is not using the ksthunk.sys driver in addition to the usbvideo.sys driver, like on the old (working) computer. Naturally, I figured the way ahead was to simply get this other driver to work with the hardware, but haven't really found out a way to do that. Does anyone know of a way I can force it to use ksthunk.sys? It seems rather difficult to get it to install anything when Windows is feeling that everything is peachy.

• Installer hangs on "waiting for other installations to finish" despite no other installations in progress

  I started an installation of the Xcode 4 developer's preview last night before going to bed. When I woke up, the installation had popped up a message saying to close Xcode first (doh!). I did so, but whatever script had displayed the message seemed to have hung because the (uncancellable) message wouldn't disappear, and the installer wouldn't progress. After force quitting the Installer app, the message above was still showing, so I restarted my MacBook Pro and then tried the installation again. This time it wouldn't even start, instead showing one of those candy-stripe activity bars and the message: Waiting for other installations to finish At this point, I'm stumped. There are no other installations in progress, so there must be some artifact left over from the interrupted install that's gumming up the works. But what?

  I am working on ISA Server 2006 in Windows Server. I want to add some policy rules to my server, I followed this link. But It points to In the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006 management console, expand the array name, and then click the Firewall Policy node. When I open the ISA Server 2006 Management Console, I can not show the expand list, how can I force ISA to show the expandable tree to start Firewall Policy? Could any one please help me to do this ?   hi all, i've been reinstalling my oracle and somehow when im trying to start them, it says that apphelp.dll is missing. when i lookup in c:/window/systems32 the apphelp.dll was there. i also download new from internet and try to replace them in case it crash but it said that i cannot delete the file coz it's still running. my question is, if i was doing the right thing by replacing the apphelp.dll can solve my problem, how can i stop this apphelp.dll? thanks

However the Nhibernate contrib caches are built against NHibernate 2.1.2.4000 which obviously gives me a problem. • Do we need seperate file path for window and linux in java

  I have a file on linux ubuntu server hosted with path name /home/kishor/project/detail/. When I made a web app in window to upload and download file from specified location i used path "c:\kishor\projects\detail\" for saving in window. For my surprise when i used window file path name in my server i am still able to get files and upload them, i.e, "c:\kishor\projects\detail\". Can anyone explain why it is working (as window and linux both use different file path pattern).

It seems that my app need the VC redistribuables : http://www.py2exe.org/index.cgi/Tutorial#Step5 I've read this tutorial and the redistribuables license agreement and I am not sure if I can freely redistribute these files with my program. (I don't have VS2008 license) Can I bundle the redistribs into an installer and make the installation transparent for the user or do they have to download the files by their own from Microsoft website?   I have a free dyndns domain mk12.gotdns.com How can I set up a cname for www.mk12.gotdns.com to point to mk12.gotdns.com? And how can I force the www one, so that if you navigate to mk12.gotdns.com, it will go to the www one? Note: I don't mean html redirecting, but I think you can do it with url rewriting somehow, something like described here.   Ctrl-c doesn't always work to kill the current process (for instance, if that process is busy in certain network operations). In that case, you just see "^C" by your cursor, and can't do much else. What's the easiest way to force that process to die now without losing my terminal? Summary of answers below: Usually, you can Ctrl-z to put the process to sleep, and then do "kill -9 process-pid", where you find the process's pid with 'ps' and other tools. On Bash (and possibly other shells) you can do "kill -9 %1" (or '%N' in general) which is easier. If Ctrl-z doesn't work, you'll have to open another terminal and kill from there.

• Problem connecting to MySQL with zend

  I've set up a virtual host on my local machine (windows xp with xampp installed), have installed zend there and am now trying to connect to the MySQLdatabase. I get the following error message: Message: SQLSTATE[HY000] [2003] Can't connect to MySQL server on ''myhost.com'' (10060) All the tips I've found via google haven't helped. I use kaspersky antivirus and have added port 3306 to the allowed list for MySQL and Apache. I've also pinged myhost.com:3306 and get a response (with ip address 67.63.50.51), though localhost:3306 and 127.0.0.1:3306 aren't found. I've checked that other apps can still access MySQL if the virtual host is pointed at them instead and my non zend apps do work. I guess I have to do something further to the port, or maybe force the app to use a different port, but am not sure how to do either. Any help appreciated.

• VPS hang when one Virtual CPU usage is 100%

  We are using Xen Center to manage all of our cPanel VPS servers. The hardware has two CPUs(Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU [email protected]) and 32GB memory. Each hardware has 4 cPanel VPS and each VPS has 8GB memory and 4 Virtual CPUS. Every one or two months, one of the VPS server will hang because one Virtual CPU usage is 100% and it couldn't release the CPU unless we use force reboot. We have 10 similar hardware, and this cause our server down almost every day. We have tried to avoid the Statistics Processing and Fantastico update during the night, but the problem still happens randomly. I can not find anything in the server log when it hangs. Any clue? Thank you.
