• Facebook Like button working but not sharing

  Im using the XFBML version of the Like button but the "Share it" box with the space to leave a comment doesn't show up after clicking "Recommend". The rest works fine. • Where to place ClientAccessPolicy.xml for Local WCF Service?

  I'm trying to create a basic WCF Service and Silverlight client. I've followed the following tutorial: http://channel9.msdn.com/shows/Endpoint/Endpoint-Screencasts-Creating-Your-First-WCF-Client/ Since Silverlight 4 was incompatible with the WSHttpBinding, I changed it to BasicHttpBinding. Unfortunately I keep getting this error now: "An error occurred while trying to make a request to URI'**'.This could be due to attempting to access a service in a cross-domain way without a proper cross-domain policy in place, or a policy that is unsuitable for SOAP services. You may need to contact the owner of the service to publish a cross-domain policy file and to ensure it allows SOAP-related HTTP headers to be sent." I placed clientaccesspolicy.xml in the root directory of the WCF project (which is in the same solution as the Silverlight client). This did not solve the problem. What do I need to do?

• UISearchBar and UINavigationController

  I have an .xib file connected to a ViewController, which is init'ed as the root controller of an instance of UINavigationController in my appDelegate. In that view, I have a UISearchBar and a UITableView below it. When the view loads up, there's a navigationBar at the top, followed by a ~20 pixel gap, and then the UISearchBar, and the table beneath it: My problem is that when I enter the UISearchBar to type something, the navigation bar disappears (which is fine), but the search box is all screwy: I'm pretty new to this (a couple of weeks), so I'm not quite sure what's going on. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?

• Relative paths in C#

  I need some help with paths please! Basically I have a project with the following folder structure: Project (root directory which contains the .sln file etc.) Project/MyProj (contains the code) Project/MyProjTest (the test folder) Project/TestResults Now with this Project I need to have a common folder where I can stick a bunch of files for use with the Application without having to copy the files to multiple locations etc. What is the best way to do this? Ideally I would like to have the folder as Project/ResourcesFolder, so that both the Code folder and Test folder can access it. Now if this is the case how do I call this folder from within C#? I've tried Application.StartupPath, Environment.GetCurrentDirectory but they both just return the CURRENT folder which is not what I want. Thanks in advance.

  A while ago I downloaded the latest version (3.1) of the CKEditor text editor. The directory name was ckeditor and I deleted the ckeditor/_source and ckeditor/_samples sub-directories, then I referenced the ckeditor.js file in my html pages, like so : <script type="text/javascript" src="ckeditor/ckeditor.js"></script> this works well. To make config changes, I have been modifying the ckeditor/config.js file. However, as of late, I have been reading various web resources that say 'do not delete the _source' folder and other such ominous messages. What is this _source folder? What is all the stuff at the root of the ckeditor folder? and, What is safe to remove from the folder?

• Python-MySQLdb problem: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

  As part of trying out django CMS (http://www.django-cms.org/), I'm struggling with getting Python-MySQLdb to work (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/MySQL-python/). I have installed Django CMS and all of its dependencies (Python 2.5, Django, django-south, MySQL server) I'm trying out the example code within Django CMS code with MySQL as chosen database type When I execute python manage.py syncdb, the following error occurs: django.core.exceptions.ImproperlyConfigured: Error loading MySQLdb module: /root/.python-eggs/MySQL_python-1.2.3c1-py2.5-linux-i686.egg-tmp/_mysql.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 I have been able to trace the problem specifically to python-mySQLdb (as also visible in the stack trace). Other than that, I am completely puzzled. I don't have a clue what ELFCLASS32 means, or what ELF class is anyway. I suspect that this error could have something to do with the fact that I am running 64-bit version of Debian 5 (on a VPS). Any good ideas how to troubleshoot?

Because of this switching I facing some problems in windows which was not occurred in ubuntu.   What is the effective way to deploy an asp.net website in subfolder/subdomain? Actually I need to keep web.config in root directory and modify following things for this. So my development work is not more different from production. Means I am expecting one place where applied changes are effective on whole site. No need to modify path on each page.

• Uninstall Mono from Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard

  I installed Mono on my iMac last night and I immidiately had a change of heart! I don't think Mono is ready for prime time. The Mono website says to run the following script to uninstall: #!/bin/sh -x #This script removes Mono from an OS X System. It must be run as root rm -r /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework rm -r /Library/Receipts/MonoFramework-SVN.pkg cd /usr/bin for i in `ls -al | grep Mono | awk '{print $9}'`; do rm ${i} done Has anyone had to uninstall Mono? Was it as straight forward as running the above script or do I have to do more? How messy was it? Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks

  I have to Zip my folders and subfolders Using MSbuild, I was looking at the MSBuild Extension pack, and tried this <ItemGroup> <ZipFiles Include="\Test\Web\**\*.*" > <Group>Release</Group> </ZipFiles> </ItemGroup> <MSBuild.ExtensionPack.Compression.Zip TaskAction="Create" CompressFiles="@(ZipFiles)" ZipFileName="$(WorkingDir)%(ZipFiles.Group).zip"/> When I do this it just keep adding all the files to root, instead of adding it into the specific subfolder within the zip file. I am missing something, can anyone help here please.

• Object/Module not found: RDS from VB6 app to a Win2003 server

  I have a rather legacy application EXE written in VB6 and running on a Windows 2000 server that uses RDS (Remote Data Services) to access a business object DLL (also written in VB6) running on a Windows 2003 server. The DLL has never run on this server (we're moving the component off the old W2K server), but it is registered and defined as a component on the W2k+3 server. The specific code where the DLL is being called is: Private m_rdsDS As RDS.DataSpace Dim oARImport As Object Set oARImport = m_rdsDS.CreateObject("ARBatches.BL_ARBatches", txtWebServer) MsgBox oARImport.AddBatches(m_vConnParms, arbParseString, LinesFromFile) The CreateObject appears to work fine, but calling the method AddBatches raises the error number 8209 "Internet Server Error: Object/module not found." I'm leaning towards the idea that there is a permission issue somewhere at the root of the problem, but if this were the case, why wouldn't it say "You don't have permission"? I'd really like to rewrite the whole app but "they" won't let me.

  I created a local Git repo on my laptop and then pushed the source to Heroku creating a remote branch. After a few days of commits and pushes, I need to rollback to an earlier commit. Here's what I did. cd <app root> git checkout 35fbd894eef3e114c814cc3c7ac7bb50b28f6b73 Someone told me that doing the checkout created a new working tree(?) and not the branch itself, so when I pushed the rollback changes to Heroku, it said everything is up to date and nothing was pushed. • ASP.NET - Missing #includes cause compilation errors: Failed to map the path '...'

  I have an ASP.NET application which features some server-side includes. For example: <!--#include virtual="/scripts.inc" --> These files are not present in my ASP.NET website project because my website starts in a virtual directory: /path-to-my-application When I choose Build Web Site, I get this error: Failed to map the path '/scripts.inc' Visual Studio cannot resolve these include files that are defined at the root directory level. They are not visible in the website project. Aside from manually commenting out the #include references, is there any way I can get the website to build? Can I force Visual Studio to ignore those errors and compile the site? Once the website is pushed out to IIS, there is no problem, because all the #include files are in place. NOTE - Web Controls are not an option for this application. Please assume #include files are a requirement. Also, I cannot move the include files since they are used by other applications.

(non commercial preferred since it's just for experimentation) The idea is to allow a user to say something from a website then whatever he/she says will show up on the screen (as text) I've read about many available softwares ranging from Microsoft Speech, Sphinx, Julius etc just not sure which one will perform best and easiest to install. I follow the 1 test project pr. project convention I can think of 3 ways, that all seems good to me, which make it kind of hard to choose :-) Test project is put under a Tests sub folder to the project it tests. Test project is put next to the project it tests, in a "project".Tests folder. I believe this is what Roy Osherove recommends. Put all test projects in a sub folder in the root. e.g. \Tests\"project".Tests Something else? What you choose and why?

• nginx + passenger not using rackup file

  I have an issue where Passenger is not detecting the config.ru file for the following nginx server server { listen 80; passenger_enabled on; server_name callumj.com cjlondon.com; access_log logs/callumj.access.log; root /webapps/callumj_com/public; } Nginx just seems to ignore it and treat it as a normal web page (as I get forbidden areas when it tries to look for index.html in public). I have verified that the rackup command and execute config.ru and it boots up sucessfully. I have another server directive much like this which is powered by Rails and it seems to be working perfectly. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!
