• Action listener for JButton array

  Let's say I have a program with 2D array of buttons, and when you click one of them it turns red. I didn't want to declare every single button seperately so I just created JButton[][] array for them. The problem is that I don't know how to use action listener on any of the buttons in the array so it would change the color of this particular button, and none of related questions is relevant to this. • Jquery UI dialog does not disappear

  I am using jquery-ui tabs and dialog functionality. Each tab has a button on the page which opens a dialog. This works for one of the tabs. However if I go the second tab, the button does not work there. When I come back to the first tab, the dialog does show up but the problem is I notice as I make switches back and forth to the first tab, it keeps on inserting new div's while the old div's have display:none set on them. I am doing this using JSP. • Animate absolutely positioned div, but stop if a condition is true?

  Hello all, I have a div which I place at the top right-hand corner of a website, absolutely positioned at top: 0px and right : 0px. I want to use jquery's animate function to animate the div left or right a certain amount when a button is clicked, but stop the animation if at anytime, the div's offset to the left or right is less than a certain number. I want to do this to accomodate users who click the left or right buttons more than once, so that the div does not fly out of sight. How does one accomplish this? • Reading input files in FORTRAN

  Purpose: Create a program that takes two separate files, opens and reads them, assigns their contents to arrays, do some math with those arrays, create a new array with product numbers, print to a new file. Simple enough right? My input files have comment characters at the beginning. One trouble is, they are '#' which are comment characters for most plotting programs, but not FORTRAN. What is a simple way to tell the computer not to look at these characters? Since I have no previous FORTRAN experience, I am plowing through this with two test files. • Convert C# (with typed events) to VB.NET

  I have an ASPX page (with VB Codebehind). I would like to extend the GridView class to show the header / footer when no rows are returned. I found a C# example online (link) (source). However, I cannot convert it to VB because it uses typed events (which are not legal in VB). I have tried several free C# to VB.NET converters online, but none have worked. Please convert the example to VB.NET or provide an alternate method of extending the GridView class. Notes / Difficulties: If you get an error with DataView objects, specify the type as System.Data.DataView and the type comparison could be the following: If data.[GetType]() Is GetType(System.Data.DataView) Then Since the event MustAddARow cannot have a type in VB (and RaiseEvent event doesn't have a return value), how can I compare it to Nothing in the function OnMustAddARow()?   I am loading an ajax page which executes an HTML5 video player script. • mysql query trying to search by alias involving CASES and aggregate functions UGH!

  I have two tables left joined. The query is grouped by the left table's ID column. The right table has a date column called close_date. The problem is, if there are any right table records that have not been closed (thus having a close_date of 0000-00-00), then I do not want any of the left table records to be shown, and if there are NO right table records with a close_date of 0000-00-00, I would like only the right table record with the MAX close date to be returned. So for simplicity sake, let's say the tables look like this: Table1 id 1 2 Table2 table1_id | close_date 1 | 0000-00-00 1 | 2010-01-01 2 | 2010-01-01 2 | 2010-01-02 I would like the query to only return this: Table1.id | Table2.close_date 2 | 2010-01-02 I tried to come up with an answer using aliased CASES and aggregate functions, but I could not search by the result, and I was attempting not to make a 3 mile long query to solve the problem. I looked through a few of the related posts on here, but none seem to meet the criteria of this particular case. Any pushes in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

• Multithreading for loop while maintaining order

  I started messing around with multithreading for a CPU intensive batch process I'm running. Essentially I'm trying to condense multiple single page tiffs into single PDF documents. This works fine with a foreach loop or standard iteration but can be very slow for several 100 page documents. I tried the following based on a some examples I found to use multithreading and it has significant performance improvements however it obliterates the page order instead of 1,2,3,4 it will be 1,3,4,2,6,5 on what thread completes first. My question is how would I utilize this technique while maintaining the page order and if I can will it negate the performance benefit of the multithreading? Thank you in advance.   I see several others have posted this question, however, none of the solutions I've tried have fixed this yet. I have a 32-bit XP running VS 2008 and I am trying to encrypt my connection string in my web.config file. But I am getting the error: The configuration section '...' was not found. Failed! The command I give it: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VCAspnet_regiis.exe -pe "system.we b/AdventureWorksConnectionString2" -app "/Documents and Settings/Admin/My Docume nts/Visual Studio 2008/Projects/AddFileToSQL2" Also, how does -app map virtual directory? In other words the path above is the directory right below c:. Is this the correct path to use? And AddFileToSQL2 is the name of my project, although it is part of the AddFileToSQL solution. I have this folder web shared with all of the permissions. • S3 browser upload via POST: unable to handle errors gracefully

  I am writing an app where I want the customer to be able to upload to Amazon S3 straight from the browser. I can make this work just fine. But when errors occur, I want to handle them more gracefully than splattering an XML document on the customer's screen. I have a scheme that I think would work, but it's failing. Here's what I'm trying: Create a form to do the upload, and store the form on S3 itself, in the same domain as the "action" attribute of the form. Redirect the customer to this form. Now their browser is sitting on https://<bucket>.s3.amazonaws.com/something. The page contains a hidden iframe. The form sets its target to the iframe. The load event handler looks at the contents of the iframe, and acts upon it. So, something like this: <iframe id="foo" name="foo" style="display: none" /> <form target="foo" action="https://<bucket>.s3.amazonaws.com/"> <input type="hidden" name="..." value="..." /> <input type="file" name="file" /> </form> with this javascript (using jquery): function handler() { var message = $("#foo").contents().find('message').text(); alert(message); } $("#foo").load(handler); Using firebug, I can see that the iframe contains an XML document, that contains a "message" node. However, the .find('message') always fails to find anything within the XML document. Notice that the action of the form has the same domain, port, and scheme as the document itself. So, I don't think that I should be running afoul of the same-origin policy. Right? But it fails every time. This is using Firefox and Google Chrome browsers. Thanks for any advice!

• AIX 6.1 unable to build apache module

  In Aix 6.1/ Apache version 2.2.8 packaged as part of IBM WebSphere. We should have had mod_dumpio for this version but for some reasons IBM did not include it. So we are trying to build this module(in few many ways) but none of them worked. 1) Using apxs:- Failed with the "xlc_r" not found as compile option for libtool. So based on an article online, we changed to "gcc" and we have to remove -qmaxmem and -qHALT to make it work. Result we see a .lo created but LoadModule fails(unable to find .loader section). 2) Using gcc:- Command "gcc -fpic -DSHARED_MODULE -I -c mod_dumpio.c" After running this command, we can see .o file created and then we tried to execute "ld -Bshareable -o mod_dumpio.so mod_dumpio.o" whereas AIX complaining about -Bshareable so we tried using this command "gcc -shared -I -o mod_dumpio.so mod_dumpio.o" whereas the error was "libgcc_s" not found. Then we added -static-libgcc to the above command and it was not resolving .h file functions (Unknown symbols). From IBM AIX site, libgcc_s costs around $2k. We think our second approach may work but we dont know how to instruct gcc to look for .h files while building .so from .o. Any help is appreciated.

• Using jquery to change checkbox status

  Hi everyone! I have a list of items that have checkboxes associated with them, and the items are beneath a list header, which also has a checkbox(for db purposes only) which is actually hidden from view. I need to make it so that if any of the checkboxes beneath the header is checked, then the header checkbox is checked as well. BUT I also need to make it so that if all of the checkboxes are unchecked, then the header one is unchecked...how hard is this going to be? This is how I have it setup now: if($('.childCheckBox').is(":checked")){ $('#parentBox').attr('checked', true); } Now I am thinking that if I were to do something where I add an else if clause: else if($('.proBox2').is(not)(":checked"){ alert("uncheck parent"); } But I don't know the correct syntax for is-not, or isn't, or even if there is anything that will do that. • Accelerometer stops delivering samples when the screen is off on Droid/Nexus One even with a WakeLoc

  I have some code that extends a service and records onSensorChanged(SensorEvent event) accelerometer sensor readings on Android. I would like to be able to record these sensor readings even when the device is off (I'm careful with battery life and it's made obvious when it's running). While the screen is on the logging works fine on a 2.0.1 Motorola Droid and a 2.1 Nexus One. However, when the phone goes to sleep (by pushing the power button) the screen turns off and the onSensorChanged events stop being delivered (verified by using a Log.e message every N times onSensorChanged gets called). The service acquires a wakeLock to ensure that it keeps running in the background; but, it doesn't seem to have any effect. I've tried all the various PowerManager. wake locks but none of them seem to matter. _WakeLock = _PowerManager.newWakeLock(PowerManager.PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK, "My Tag"); _WakeLock.acquire(); There have been conflicting reports about whether or not you can actually get data from the sensors while the screen is off... anyone have any experience with this on a more modern version of Android (Eclair) and hardware? • redirect web app results to own application

  Is it possible to redirect a web apps results to a second application? I cannot parse the html source. It contains the javascript functions that execute the queries but all the content is probably server side. I hope this makes sense. The owner has made the script available but I am not sure how this helps. Can I using .net call the site and redirect results perhaps to a file or database? the app accesses one of googles apis and performs searches/queries and returns results which are displayed on the site. Now all the javascript functions that perform these queries are listed in the source but I do not know javascript so it does not make much sense to me. I have used the documentation which uses the oauth protocol to access the api and have implemented that in my web app but it took me nearly a week to get the request token right and now to send requests to the api, sometimes I get one result back and sometimes none. It is frustrating me and the owner of the web app has given use of his script but he says all that happens is that my browser interacts with the google api and not his server. So I thought why not have my web app call his, since his interacts with the API flawlessly and have the results sent to my app to save in a database. I have very little experience here so pardon my ignorance

• SQL - Query range between two dates (NON-VBA)

  I see various topics on this around stack overflow but none that fit the contect of MS-Access... Given a starting date and an ending date, is there a way through SQL to return records for each given month within the time frame? EG: Between #1/1/2010# and #12/31/2010# results #1/4/2010# #1/11/2010# ..... #12/27/2010# Restrictions MS-Access 2003 :No Case/Loops inside the SQL (IIF statements are good) This is a view only, NO VBA will be used since the data will not be tampered with. Disconnected recordset is my last option. I would prefer to find out theres some way to call your customized functions in the SQL to help return these values... some class stored on a global scope while you iterate through this date range maybe... Is this possible? I see many no's, but if there was a way to pass a value into a function I could find a way to make this work. Sad that I don't have a way to simulate a stored procedure without using a d/c recordset, at least that I know of... any experts out there know a way?

• Custom API requirement

  We are currently working on an API for an existing system. It basically wraps some web-requests as an easy-to-use library that 3rd party companies should be able to use with our product. As part of the API, there is an event mechanism where the server can call back to the client via a constantly-running socket connection. To minimize load on the server, we want to only have one connection per computer. Currently there is a socket open per process, and that could eventually cause load problems if you had multiple applications using the API. So my question is: if we want to deploy our API as a single standalone assembly, what is the best way to fix our problem? A couple options we thought of: Write an out of process COM object (don't know if that works in .Net) Include a second exe file that would be required for events, it would have to single-instance itself, and open a named pipe or something to communicate through multiple processes Extract this exe file from an embedded resource and execute it None of those really seem ideal. Any better ideas?

• Using external SOAP service in Workflow service

  I am using the .NET 4 framework and have made a WCF Workflow Service Application. I want to use a SOAP web service (.NET 3.5) I have running in another instance of VS. The only method that is exposed is the following: [WebMethod] public string Reverse(string input) { char[] chars = input.ToCharArray(); Array.Reverse(chars); return new string(chars); } I have used the following steps to add the service in my Workflow: Add Service Reference Provided the WSDL (the operation shows in the Operations box as expected) Clicked OK Build the solution to ensure that the service shows in my toolbox Drag the service from the toolbox into the workflow However, when I look at the properties of the service in the workflow, there is no way to specify the input argument or where to store the result of the invocation of the service. I only have the option of specifying some obscure parameters such as Body:InArgument<ReverseRequestBody and outBody:OutArgument<ReverseResponseBody (none of which are strings). Here is a screenshot depicting the properties of the service in the workflow: My question is therefore: Is it possible at all to use the SOAP service by specifying a string as the input argument (like it is meant to be used), and also assign the result to a workflow variable?

• Google Drive API invalid_grant after removing access

  I have been writing a desktop application that uses the Google Drive API v2. I have the following code: var credential = GoogleWebAuthorizationBroker.AuthorizeAsync ( new ClientSecrets { ClientId = ClientID, ClientSecret = ClientSecret }, new[] { DriveService.Scope.Drive }, "user", CancellationToken.None ) .Result; this.Service = new DriveService( new BaseClientService.Initializer() { HttpClientInitializer = credential, ApplicationName = "My Test App", } ); var request = this.Service.Files.List(); request.Q = "title = 'foo' and trashed = false"; var result = request.Execute(); The first time I ran this code it opened a browser and asked me to grant permissions to the App, which I did. Everything worked successfully until I realized I was using the wrong Google account. At that point I logged into the wrong Google account and revoked access to my App. Now, whenever I run the same code it throws an exception: Error:"invalid_grant", Description:"", Uri:"" When I examine the service and request objects, it looks like the oauth_token isn't getting created any more. I know what I did to mess things up, but I can't figure out how to correct it so I can use a different Google account for testing. What do I need to do?

• Run a shell script using cron

These files also have username fields, # that none of the other crontabs do.
