• Building asynchronous cache pattern with JSP

  I have a JSP that will take some 8 minutes to render. The code logic itself can not be made more efficient (it will update often and be updated by basically a pointy haired boss). I tried wrapping it with a caching layer like <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/classes/oscache.tld" prefix="oscache" %> <oscache:cache time="60"> <div class="pagecontent"> ..... my logic </div> </oscache:cache> This is nice until the 60 seconds is over. The next query after that blocks until the 8 minutes of rendering is done with again. I would need a way to build a pattern something like: If there is no version of the dynamic content in the cache run the actual logic (and populate the cache for subsequent requests) If there is a non-expired version of the dynamic content in the cache serve the output of the JSP logic from the cache If there is an expired version of the dynamic content in the cache serve the output of the JSP logic still from the cache AND run the JSP logic in the background so that the cache gets updated transparently to the user - avoiding the user have to wait for 8 minutes I found out that at least EHCache might be able to do some asynchronous cache updating but it did not sadly seem to apply to the JSP tags... Also I have to take in 10-20 parameters for the actual logic of the JSP and some of them should be used as a key for caching. Code example and/or pointers would be greatly appreciated. I do not frankly care if the solution provided is extremely ugly. I just want a simple 5 minute caching with asynchronous cache update taking into account some parameters as a key.

• How to change scope data in controller?

  I am a real newbie at angular. I created something now which will let me retrieve and add items via angular and get/put them in mongodb. I use express and mongoose in the app The question is, how can i modify the data before it reaches the DOM in the controller. In this example i have created a way to retrieve data, and i get it exactly as it is stored in mongodb. What i would like is that the field where i store 1 or 0 in the database, to be shown as text. So if mongo has a value 1 i get "the value in mongo is 1" and when the field has a value of 0 get "the value is zero". (just as an example, i like other texts, but it illustrate what i want) I post my controller, html and current output. Any help would be appreciated. • C# iterator is executed twice when composing two IEnumerable methods

  I just started learning about C# iterator but got confused with the flow of the program after reading the output of the program. The foreach with uniqueVals seems to be executed twice. My understanding is that the first few lines up to the line before "Nums in Square: 3" should not be there. Can anyone help to explain why this happens? • squid transparent proxy on all ports

  I have setup squid as a transparent proxy by redirecting port 80 to the native squid port 3128. I know there are issues with getting secure ports like ssl and imaps to go though the proxy but can I redirect all other ports through the proxy as well. I am trying to get a better idea of bandwidth usage. I have setup iptables to log usage and i am getting most traffic going into the related/established rule. I am trying to determine the origins of this traffic by sending traffic to squid for more detailed logging.

One more thing - even when I restrict it to a set of fields to serialize, it will keep the id always outside the element container and instead present it as "pk" outside of it.

  I'm parsing sentences like "CS 2110 or INFO 3300". I would like to output a format like: [[("CS" 2110)], [("INFO", 3300)]] To do this, I thought I could use setParseAction(). • Passenger, Apache and avoiding page caching

  I'm hosting a rack application with passenger and apache. The application is setup to cache the content of each request to the public directory after each request. This allows apache to serve the content directly as a static page for future requests. I would like to tell Apache, presumably through some rewrite rules that any requests with query parameters should not be cached, but instead passed down to the rack application. With a mongrel setup I would just redirect it to the balancer if it meets my rewrite conditions. How do you do the same with passenger?

• Creating ODT and PDF files as end result

  Hello, I've been working on an app to create various document formats for a while now, and I've had limited success. Ideally, I'd like to dynamically create a fairly simple ODT/PDF/DOC file. I've been focusing my efforts on ODT, because it is editable, and open enough that there are several tools which will convert it to any of the other formats I need. The problem is that the ODT XML files are NOT simple, and there aren't any good-quality API's I could find (especially in python). So far, I've had the most success creating a template ODT file, and then manipulating the DOM in python as needed. This is ok generally, but is quickly becoming inadequate and requires too much tweaking every single time I need to alter one of the templates. The requirements are: 1) Produce a simple document that will have lists, paragraphs, and the ability to draw simple graphics on the page (boxes, circles, etc...) 2) The ability to specify page size, and the different formats should generally print the exact same output when sent to a printer My questions: 1) Are there any other ways I can produce ODT/PDF/DOC files? 2) Would LaTeX be acceptable? I've never really used it, does anyone have experience converting LaTeX files into other formats? 3) Would it be possible to use HTML? There are a lot of converters online. Technically you can specify dimensions in mm/cm, etc..., but I am worried that the printed output will differ between browsers/converters.... Any other ideas?

  I am trying to reroute incoming traffic on my server's port 80 to another server, but it is not working. This is what I tried. On the host server, I ran these: echo “1? > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination 38.105.20.226:80 iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -j MASQUERADE The server I want it to redirect to is 38.105.20.226:80, but when I go to the webserver that is on the main server, instead of showing the content of the web server on 38.105.20.226:80, it just doesn't load. I am on CentOS.

Here is how someone making a request will see it's request being passed: Clients sends request Request reaches the Datacenter one in some place That datacenter, acting as a reverse proxy will redirect the same exact request to another datacenter. The datacenter will then process the request Although, this only works with TCP/HTTP (Looking currently at HaProxy). I am hosting game servers at the other datacenter (where the proxy is not) that are using UDP protocol. Do you know how can I setup a reverse proxy using the UDP protocol.

• How to append to a log file in powershell?

  Hi there, I am doing some parallel SQL Server 2005 database restores in powershell. The way I have done it is to use cmd.exe and start so that powershell doesn't wait for it to complete. What I need to do is to pipe the output into a log file with append. If I use Add-Content, then powershell waits, which is not what I want. My code snippet is foreach ($line in $database_list) { <snip> # Create logins sqlcmd.exe -S $instance -E -d master -i $loginsFile -o $logFile # Read commands from a temp file and execute them in parallel with sqlcmd.exe cmd.exe /c start "Restoring $database" /D"$pwd" sqlcmd.exe -S $instance -E -d master -i $tempSQLFile -t 0 -o $logFile [void]$logFiles.Add($logFile) } The problem is that sqlcmd.exe -o overwrites. I've tried doing this to append: cmd.exe /c start "Restoring $database" /D"$pwd" sqlcmd.exe -S $instance -E -d master -i $tempSQLFile -t 0 >> $logFile But it doesn't work because the output stays in the SQLCMD window and doesn't go to the file. • My site not directing links correctly.

  I have a site at http://badassmonkeys.com/ and when i click any of the links it does not direct it to the actual page but still pulls up the link. For some reason it works perfectly on linux cpanel and actually loads the pages, but on windows in apache, or in IIS even with a rewrite mod for it, it just doesnt work. The links dont go correctly. Is it a php.ini setting? This is my htaccess file if curious, but it works perfect in linux, but not on windows....   HI all, This is what i'm trying to do. I have a .bat file which takes in a argument which is nothing but a folder name. What i do first is go one level up (cd ..). Now in this directory i have 3 folders and each folders have sub-folders and have .class files in them. What i want to do is recursively loop through the folders and get hold of the .class files. Once this is done i want to echo the target folder of the .class file as well as echo the name of the.class file. So c:\temp\potter\myclass.class. I would echo out c:\temp\potter\ and myclass. I'm able to do this by writing a separate bat file which works. But when i integrate this with the recursive function it seems to break. • htaccess IP blocking with custom 403 Error not working

  I'm trying to block everyone but 1 IP address from my site on a server running apache & centos. My setup is follows the example below. My server: `http://www.myserver.com/` My .htaccess file <limit GET> order deny,allow deny from all allow from 176.219.192.141 </limit> ErrorDocument 403 http://www.google.com ErrorDocument 404 http://www.google.com When I visit http://www.myserver.com/ from an invalid IP, it gives me a generic 403 error. When I visit http://www.myserver.com/page-does-not-exist/ it redirects me correctly to http://www.google.com but I can't figure out why the 403 error doesn't redirect me too. Anyone have any ideas?

• fullcalendar events from REST-ful php server.

  I've written a very simple RESTful php server (my first experiment with REST, so feel free to make suggestions) to respond to the fullcalendar events callback. It produces exactly the same string output as the json-events.php file in the fullcalendar json example, but for some reason fullcalendar will not accept my server's output. I've tried messing with the headers because they're different from the ones produced by json-events.php, but I'm not really sure what's awry there, if anything. • getting a 404/403 error for payment gateway

  We are setting up an online payment facility using a payment gateway. After the payment gateway finishes processing the credit card details for a payment, the user is redirected to a "403 Forbidden" page. The logs show: [MY_IP_ADDRESS_HERE] - - [SOME_DATE_HERE] "GET /POSTBACK_URL.php?txnid=1338434567&result=failure&reason=The+remote+server+returned+an+error%3a+(404)+Not+Found.&digest=7a115270c56df5945c43ad86e56b2e930a3cfd50 HTTP/1.1" 404 - "PAYMENT_GATEWAY_URL_HERE" "BROWSER_DETAILS_HERE" It means that when the PAYMENT_GATEWAY_URL attempts to open our POSTBACK_URL, it gets a 404 error, is that correct? But why does the page say "403 Forbidden"? Anyway, we tried to copy-paste that same URL into the browser window, and the page is opened successfully, with our programmed error notification message. So, why couldn't it be opened when the payment gateway tried to redirect to it, but we could? Is this some sort of permissions issue? If so, the postback URL's file permissions are already 755. What am I missing?

• Projective transformation

  Given two image buffers (assume it's an array of ints of size width * height, with each element a color value), how can I map an area defined by a quadrilateral from one image buffer into the other (always square) image buffer? I'm led to understand this is called "projective transformation". I'm also looking for a general (not language- or library-specific) way of doing this, such that it could be reasonably applied in any language without relying on "magic function X that does all the work for me". An example: I've written a short program in Java using the Processing library (processing.org) that captures video from a camera. During an initial "calibrating" step, the captured video is output directly into a window. The user then clicks on four points to define an area of the video that will be transformed, then mapped into the square window during subsequent operation of the program. If the user were to click on the four points defining the corners of a door visible at an angle in the camera's output, then this transformation would cause the subsequent video to map the transformed image of the door to the entire area of the window, albeit somewhat distorted.

  Edit: To clarify, the problem is how to round a number to the nearest integer. i.e. 0.5 should round to 1 and 2.5 shoud round to 3.   I am confused as to why the new operator isn't working as I expected it to. Note: All classes below are defined in the same namespace, and in the same file. This class allows you to prefix any content written to the console with some provided text. public class ConsoleWriter { private string prefix; public ConsoleWriter(string prefix) { this.prefix = prefix; } public void Write(string text) { Console.WriteLine(String.Concat(prefix,text)); } } Here is a base class: public class BaseClass { protected static ConsoleWriter consoleWriter = new ConsoleWriter(""); public static void Write(string text) { consoleWriter.Write(text); } } Here is an implemented class: public class NewClass : BaseClass { protected new static ConsoleWriter consoleWriter = new ConsoleWriter("> "); } Now here's the code to execute this: class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { BaseClass.Write("Hello World!"); NewClass.Write("Hello World!"); Console.Read(); } } So I would expect the output to be Hello World! > Hello World! But the output is Hello World Hello World I do not understand why this is happening. Here is my thought process as to what is happening: The CLR calls the BaseClass.Write() method The CLR initialises the BaseClass.consoleWriter member. The method is called and executed with the BaseClass.consoleWriter variable Then The CLR calls the NewClass.Write() The CLR initialises the NewClass.consoleWriter object. The CLR sees that the implementation lies in BaseClass, but the method is inherited through The CLR executes the method locally (in NewClass) using the NewClass.consoleWriter variable I thought this is how the inheritance structure works? Please can someone help me understand why this is not working?
