  • Get BSD file descriptor from OSX CoreServices objects.

    Hello, I am new to OSX user space development. I've read documentation and googled before asking, but still have no clue about the following. If i am to use CoreServices framework to work with files (FSRef, Forks, URLs, etc.) will i be able to get a raw BSD file descriptor (plain int)? If yes, then how can i do that? The thing is, i want to learn to program with OSX frameworks, but the actual task at hand will require BSD file descriptor later. Inso.

    Hi guys, I'm tring to create a generic collection of dynamic type at runtime of Silverlight application. My code: Type listType = Type.GetType("System.Collections.ObjectModel.ObservableCollection`1[[" + type.AssemblyQualifiedName + "]], System.Windows, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e", true); type - is variable of Type type. That Type is creating at runtime. At that code line I've got error: Could not load file or assembly ', Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. How can I resolve that error?

  • Redirect output to file

    Hi, I have a shell script which is currently running and was running from past 8 hours. It will complete only by tomorrow evening. At the end of the program, it will print 2 million words to standard output. I am running the program on the screen. I forgot to redirect the output to a file. I know I won't be able to copy the data from the window. Is there a way to output the command to a file. I don't want to restart the program. Any thoughts?? Thank you. Bala

    So I'm using Visual C++ 6.0, and trying to compile some source code, but upon compilation I get this: Linking... LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "Iphlpapi.lib" Error executing link.exe. I'm using the correct SDK, and the directories are correct. I've checked, double checked, and triple checked. The file is the specified directory. I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ideas? Service Pack 6 SDK for Windows Server 2003 SP1 //Sounds odd, since I'm running XP SP3, but this has worked for me in the past. Like I've said, it worked in the past for me, flawlessly. I don't understand why it won't work now.

  • Configuring Team System Code Analysis via a FxCop rules file

    Is there anyway to configure the code analysis rules in Visual Studio Team System to match those in an FxCop configuration file and keep them in sync automatically? Not all the developers on the team have TS so keeping the rules we are currently running in an FxCop file is required so everyone can run the same set, but it would nice for those with to be able to run them in the IDE. We're introducing static analysis to an existing project so turning on everything now isn't a useful option. (We are not using Foundation Server for source control, if that makes any difference.)

    So I have the below VB that creates an access file in the default workspace, creates a table, create some fields in that table...just need to know the syntax for setting the first data type/field to autonumber...GUID, Counter, etc will not work as in Access SQL ' error handling usually goes here dim ws as workspace dim dbExample as database dim tblMain as TableDef dim fldMain as Field dim idxMain as Index set ws = workspace(0) set dbExample = ws.CreateDatabase('string file path') set tblMain = dbExample.CreateTableDef("tblMain") set fldMain = tblMain.CreateField("ID", 'right here I do not know what to substitute for dbInteger to get the autonumber type to work ) tblMain.Fields.Append fldMain etc to create other fields and indexes so in this line: set fldMain = tblMain.CreateField("ID", dbInteger) i need to replace the dbInteger with something that VB reconizes as the autonumber property. i have tried GUID, Counter, Autonumber, AutoIncrement....unfortunately none of these work anyone know the syntax I am missing here?     Hi, I need to test if various file types exist in a directory. I've tried $ [ -f *.$fileext] where fileext is the file extension but that does not seem to work.     I want to write an app to transpose the key a wav file plays in (for fun, I know there are apps that already do this)... my main understanding of how this might be accomplished is to 1) chop the audio file into very small blocks (say 1/10 a second) 2) run an FFT on each block 3) phase shift the frequency space up or down depending on what key I want 4) use an inverse FFT to return each block to the time domain 5) glue all the blocks together But now I'm wondering if the transformed blocks would no longer be continuous when I try to glue them back together. Are there ideas how I should do this to guarantee continuity, or am I just worrying about nothing?

    In my DBML file I have mapped some tables and stored procedures, and the stored procedures return type is ISingleResult . T is some mapped table. But I want to take the data into my own created entities rather than LINQ to SQL created entites. The entites created by me are also the same as the mapped table entities and their use lies when we send data across the a web service. So , how can I proceed by creating a wrapper around the DBML file so that I always get data in my own created entites.

    I am working on a http based (NOT Secure) Web Application. In this, I have provided a provision to add some appointment to the Client's outlook calendar. I am creating the .vcs file dynamically when clicked on a hyperlink. The code of generating .VCS file is: string calendarFormat = GetVCSFormat(); Response.ContentType = "text/calendar"; Response.AppendHeader("content-disposition", "attachment; filename=MyCalendar.vcs"); Response.Write(calendarFormat); Response.End(); It is working fine in all browsers except IE. It is giving me following error: Internet Explorer cannot download GenerateAppointment.aspx from server. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. Can anyone focus some light on it?

    Hello, this is my first post. I hope someone could help me. I'm looking for a way to define a widget in UiBinder XML layout file separately, without being part of the layout hierachy. Here's a small example: <ui:UiBinder xmlns:ui="urn:ui:com.google.gwt.uibinder" xmlns:g="urn:import:com.google.gwt.user.client.ui"> <g:Label ui:field="testlabel" text="Hallo" /> <g:HTMLPanel> ... </g:HTMLPanel> The compile fails since the ui:UiBinder element expects only one child element. In Java Code i will access and bind the Label widget as usual: @UiField Label testlabel; For example, this could be useful when you define a Grid or FlexTable - i want to define the Labels for the table header within the XML layout file, not programmatically within the code.   • internet explorer ashx file problem

    My problem is a bit complicated: I am writing in c#, asp.net and using jquery I have a page that sends requests to the server using jquery's ajax method. I have a ashx file (handler) to respond to these request. User can perform several changes on several pages, then use some method that will call the ajax method. My ashx file reads some values From the session variables and acts accordingly. This works fine in all browsers but in internet explorer. In internet explorer the session seems to hold old information (old user ids'). It's incredible, the same code works fine in firefox, chrome and safari but fails with ie. What could be causing it? I have no clue where to even start looking for a solution. btw, Sorry for the general title, couldn't figure out how to explain in just few words. Thank You!

    For some strange reason, the \n and \r escape sequences do not seem to be working in my code. I want to write each NSString on a new line of the file, but it just appends it the last string on one line.   • Override the neutral language of a specific resource file within an assembly

    I have an assembly that contains several resource files. Most of them have the neutral language 'nl' (Dutch, specified on the assembly as the neutral language), so I don't specify the 'nl' in their filenames. However, I'm putting strings in the English language in some other resource files (they are internal error messages) and I will never provide Dutch translations of them. If I name those resource files something like 'Errors.en.resx', no designer class is generated (breaks the build) because there is no 'Errors.resx'. This is annoying because now I have to put 'en' strings into a 'nl'-implied resource file and I really don't want to translate those strings to 'nl' or provide empty strings just to satisfy the compiler. Is there a way to override the neutral language on a specific resource file or perhaps somehow have the 'Errors.en.resx' build a designer class?

  • serving large file using select, epoll or kqueue

    Nginx uses epoll, or other multiplexing techniques(select) for its handling multiple clients, i.e it does not spawn a new thread for every request unlike apache. I tried to replicate the same in my own test program using select. I could accept connections from multiple client by creating a non-blocking socket and using select to decide which client to serve. My program would simply echo their data back to them .It works fine for small data transfers (some bytes per client) The problem occurs when I need to send a large file over a connection to the client. Since i have only one thread to serve all client till the time I am finished reading the file and writing it over to the socket i cannot resume serving other client. Is there a known solution to this problem, or is it best to create a thread for every such request ?
