• Easiest way to create twitter-like status update widget

  I want a widget that allows users to add a request if that request hasnt already been added, or vote for a request if it has already been added. when a user adds a request, i want it to immediately appear as the first element of the list, like what would happen to your timeline if you made new tweet. ive tried to look for a jquery plugin that offers this functionality, but i was unsuccessful (maybe i couldnt think of the right terms to search for??). i dont have enough faith in my js skills to write this from scratch, so id rather find a template to start with.   I have NUnit installed at this directory. C:\Program Files\NUnit 2.5.5\bin\net-2.0 When I try to run my unit test (mut.dll) in some random directory. I get the following error. I have to copy the mut.dll under the NUnit directory in order to run it. ProcessModel: Default DomainUsage: Single Execution Runtime: net-2.0 Could not load file or assembly 'nunit.framework, Version=2.5.5.10112, Culture=n eutral, PublicKeyToken=96d09a1eb7f44a77' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. What's wrong? Is there anything that I have to configure to run NUNit under any directory?

• Background search for changes in TFS source control

  SourceGear Vault's client app has the ability to background search for changes. This is very useful because at any time I can take a quick peek and see what changes my team members have checked in and that I need to get latest on. This is also helpful for previewing any merges that might be necessary. And on a day to day basis, it helps me get a sense of what parts of the codebase are seeing the most churn. Is there a way to get this same functionality with Team Foundation Server, either with native features or a plugin? I know there is a Compare feature, but it takes way too long to be useful. Unless it could periodically refresh itself like Vault does, but I haven't found a way to do that. Anything new with Visual Studio 2010?

  I have a web application, which works fine if I include my user controls with <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" TagName="MyUC1" Src="~/UserControls/MyUc1.ascx" %> <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" TagName="MyUC2" Src="~/UserControls/MyUc2.ascx" %> But I need to use the namespace due to needing to integrate with Umbraco. When I replace the register declaration with: <%@ Register TagPrefix="mine" Namespace="MyAssembly.UserControls" Assembly="MyAssembly"%> I get a null reference exception in the UserControl's Page_Load event (which references an ASP.NET control which is used by the UserControl itself. I find this pretty bizarre, but I've found very little information on how to fix it.

  Is there any good c# library that extracts gmail,yahoomail and AOL contacts? Any suggestion... I looked at Opencontacts.net and i used opencontacts.dll in my asp.net web application but i can't able to make it work... • How to sync with eclipse target management?

  I've been using the Jcraft SFTP plugin for Team Synchronisation up till now but I ran across a rumour it's being deprecated by "Target Management". Still, despite my best efforts I haven't found any information on HOW you are supposed to setup a sync with RSE/Target Management. Can anybody provide a step-by-step guide or at least clarification on whether this is actually possible right now or just a planned feature. I do my testing locally then sync to the remote - which may have changes made by other users. I want to be able to see differences and deal with conflicts etc just like with the current Team Synchronization framework.

• rails accessing value from facebooker hash/array

  This is my first time using the facebooker plugin with rails, and I'm having trouble accessing user info. The website uses FB connect to authenticate users. I am trying to get the name of the university that the logged in user attends. When I use the command <%= facebook_session.user.education_history[:name] %>, I get an error "Symbol as array index". I have also tried using education_history[1], but that just returns "# Facebooker::EducationInfo:<some sort of alphanumeric hash value>" When I use something like <%= facebook_session.user.relationship_status %> , it returns the relationship status just fine. Similarly, <%= facebook_session.user.hometown_location.city %> returns the city name just fine. I've checked out the documentation for facebooker, but I can't figure out the correct way to get the values I need. Any idea on how to get this to work? Thanks!

  I've taken programming as a hobby, studying it since I was 10 or so. 7 years to date, I've become progressivly good at C++, PHP, C#, Assembly, Lua, and the web languages such as HTML and CSS. Though I've never taken a class, I've been able to complete most, if not all of the questions from different "Programmer Interview Questions" articles and have participated in some small scale projects in the past. Summer starting yesterday for me, I've been thinking about how to keep busy while maybe earning some money along the way. Now, some kids mow lawns, others get fast food jobs, but what about programming jobs? Is there even such a thing?

• Problem consuming Exchange Web Service 2010 with jax-ws metro

  I am trying to consume the Exchange 2010 Web Service interface using JAX-WS. I'm using JAX-WS 2.2 RI (Metro 2.0). 2.1 exhibited the same problem. I am running into trouble with Exchange, which returns "HTTP/1.1 415 Cannot process the message because the content type 'text/xml;charset=utf-8' was not the expected type 'text/xml; charset=utf-8'." as a reponse (2.1 quoted the charset value, otherwise same response). Apparently I need to dictate the exact Content-type header for Exchange to be happy. Is there a way for me to do this without forcing me to manually rebuild the dependency? I currently rely on published maven artifacts, and would like to continue doing this if at all possible. The consuming process is a regular J2SE app, with no containers in sight. I have control of the application and can add pretty much anything required to the applications scope, but can not add out-of-process items like proxy servers. The client classes were generated from local WSDL, but the charset specification is derived from constants declared in the jaxws RI implementation, not the generated code. The resulting HTTP transport is thus handled by the standard http/https client from Sun JRE5 or JRE6.

• jquery noConflict not working in IE8 only

  I have a website using the prootype framework and I am looking to use a jquery plugin. Everything works just not in IE8. It works in ie7 which amazes me. • Launch IE with specific BHO enabled

  I have a IE BHO plugin that I only want to be enabled when the user launches IE from my program (The program start IE using CreateProcess()). I don't want this BHO to be enabled when a user launches IE from outside my program, as that would mean any problems in the BHO could potentially mess up the user's normal browsing experience. What's the best way to do this? One way would be to register the BHO, launch IE and then quickly unregister the BHO. This seems kind of messy though, as a crash in the program that launches IE could cause the BHO to remain registered.

  Hi, my date formatting in PHP is d-M-Y and I'm trying to match the dates with a javascript regex: s.match(new RegExp(/^(\d{1,2})(\-)(\w{3})(\-)(\d{4})$/)) To be used with the jQuery plugin, tablesorter. The problem is it's not working and I'm wondering why not. I tried removing the dashes in my date() formatting (d M Y) and tried the ff and it worked: s.match(new RegExp(/^\d{1,2}[ ]\w{3}[ ]\d{4}$/)); My question is what is the correct regex if I'm using dashes on PHP's date() i.e. d-M-Y? I've tried using VIM, Emacs and TextMate but I'm missing every feature in the Eclipse Android plugin: Auto generate R class Check for errors & warnings on code Auto completion Deploy to device or emulator Integrate with DDMS The list goes to infinity ... I know Eclipse is the best for what I want to do, but if I want to use any editor, what do you recommend to achieve a not so frustrating Android development experience?

• JQuery Autocomplete only suggesting first row

  I'm doing research using JQuery's Autocomplete plugin and Google Maps' API. What I have so far is located here. I'm using Asp.net MVC to generate the list of potential address matches (limited to US addresses only) and presenting them as a pipe-delimeted list to Autocomplete, which is supposed to be .spliting them up and suggesting them to the user. The problem I'm having (besides a stubborn IE-only javascript error, which I'll break into another question), is that only the first result is suggested. This page clearly shows two results, yet typing "3118" into the textbox produces only the Galax Dr result. How can I get Automplete to produce both results?

• ASP.NET-MVC2 Preview 1: Are There Any Breaking Changes?

  I was following Steven Sanderson's 'Pro ASP.NET MVC Framework' book. On page 132, in accordance with the author's recommendation, I downloaded the ASP.NET MVC Futures assembly, and added it to my MVC project. Then, without encouragement from the author, I downloaded, installed, and incorporated the ASP.NET MVC2 Preview 1 dlls into my project. Now, I can no longer load the website. That is, when I hit F5 in Visual Studio, I get this error. In retrospect, I think it was a really bad idea to assume that ASP.NET MVC2 Preview 1 would only be additive; but I'd like other people to weigh in. Has anyone noticed any breaking changes in ASP.NET MVC 2 Preview 1? Also - Has anyone noticed any changes that impact Castle Windsor? Also, please let me know if I should be mindful of IIS6 vs. IIS7 ramifications.

  When I turn on Code Coverage in my test settings, on a project that references the Unity DI container I get the following error: Cannot initialize the ASP.NET project '{Project Name}'. The event log specifies the following reason: Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Practices.Unity, Version=2.0.414.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. Strong name signature could not be verified. How do I get around this issue? I am running Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on a Windows 7 X64 machine.

• Eclipse 3.5 and Ubuntu 9.10, subversion client does not work

  Hi, I had installed Eclipse 3.5 Yoxos on my Ubuntu 8.04 for month, and run fine. I had upgraded to 9.10 last week, and the subversion plugin does not work since upgrade. When I try to update or commit, Subversion work for hours without any progress in console or progress bars. I can delete files or add them to SVN, but commands wich involve network just hang. SVN run fine using command line. I have already patched the GDK problem. Since this I can cancel update/commit without crashing Eclipse. Regards Cédric

  I'm having an interesting problem signing my Android application, whether or not I'm using a debug key. Regardless of the JDK I have installed to /usr/bin/{java,keytool,jarsigner} (OpenJDK or Sun's JDK) it will always give the following output after compiling successfully: -package-debug-sign: [apkbuilder] Creating RemoteNotify-debug-unaligned.apk and signing it with a debug key... BUILD FAILED /home/ianweller/AndroidSDK/platforms/android-7/templates/android_rules.xml:281: The following error occurred while executing this line: /home/ianweller/AndroidSDK/platforms/android-7/templates/android_rules.xml:152: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.android.jarutils.DebugKeyProvider The application was built and signed just fine by Eclipse with the ADT plugin (even without Sun's JDK installed). I'm on Fedora 12. I'm wanting to get my code out of Eclipse and move it into a git repository, but being unable to build it from ant will not allow this to happen.

  I have more than 1000 lines in a big jquery plugin, that is actually a big class, that inludes some others classes, but they have to be in the same file. I inlcude a piece of code. If you have another way to simplify the code..
