    How do you bind to an objects method in this scenario in WPF? public class RootObject { public string Name { get; } public ObservableCollection<ChildObject> GetChildren() {...} } public class ChildObject { public string Name { get; } } XAML: <TreeView ItemsSource="some list of RootObjects"> <TreeView.Resources> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type data:RootObject}" ItemsSource="???"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> <HierarchicalDataTemplate DataType="{x:Type data:ChildObject}"> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Path=Name}" /> </HierarchicalDataTemplate> </TreeView.Resources> </TreeView> Here I want to bind to the GetChildren method on each RootObject of the tree. EDIT Binding to an ObjectDataProvider doesn't seem to work because I'm binding to a list of items, and the ObjectDataProvider needs either a static method, or it creates it's own instance and uses that. For example, using Matt's answer I get: System.Windows.Data Error: 33 : ObjectDataProvider cannot create object; Type='RootObject'; Error='Wrong parameters for constructor.'   • Difference between GL10 and GLES10 on Android

    The GLSurfaceView.Renderer interface of the Android SDK gives me a GL interface as parameter which has the type GL10. This interface is implemented by some private internal jni wrapper class. But there is also the class GLES10 where all the GL methods are available as static methods. Is there an important difference between them? So what if I ignore the gl parameter of onDrawFrame and instead use the static methods of GLES10 everywhere? Here is an example. Instead of doing this: void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { drawSomething(gl); } void drawSomething(GL10 gl) { gl.glLoadIdentity(); ... } I could do this: void onDrawFrame(GL10 gl) { drawSomething(); } void drawSomething() { GLES10.glLoadIdentity(); ... } The advantage is that I don't have to pass the GL context to all called methods. But even it it works (And it works, I tried it) I wonder if there are any disadvantages and reasons to NOT do it like that.

    I have a library that writes data in either a text or binary format. It has the following three components: common data structures text writer (depends on 1) binary writer (depends on 1) The obvious way to distribute this is as 3 .jar files, so that users can include only what they need. However, the "common data structures" component is really just two small classes so I'm considering creating only two .jar files and including the common .class files in both. My question: What are the potential problems with doing this?

  • iText PDFReader Extremely Slow To Open

    I have some code that combines a few pages of acro forms (with acrofields in tact) and then at the end writes some JS to the entire document. It is the PdfReader in the function adding the JS that is taking extremely long to instantiate (about 12 seconds for a 1MB file). Here is the code (pretty simple): public static byte[] AddJavascript(byte[] document, string js) { PdfReader reader = new PdfReader(new RandomAccessFileOrArray(document), null); MemoryStream msOutput = new MemoryStream(); PdfStamper stamper = new PdfStamper(reader, msOutput); PdfWriter writer = stamper.Writer; writer.AddJavaScript(js); stamper.Close(); reader.Close(); byte[] withJS = msOutput.GetBuffer(); return withJS; } I have benchmarked the above and the line that is slow is the first one. I have tried reading it from a file instead of memory and tried using a MemoryStream instead of the RandomAccessFileOrArray. Nothing makes it any faster. If I add JS to a single page document, it is very fast. So my thought is that the code that combines the pages is somehow making the PDF slow to read for the PdfReader. Here is the combine code: public static byte[] CombineFiles(List<byte[]> sourceFiles) { MemoryStream output = new MemoryStream(); PdfCopyFields copier = new PdfCopyFields(output); try { output.Position = 0; foreach (var fileBytes in sourceFiles) { PdfReader fileReader = new PdfReader(fileBytes); copier.AddDocument(fileReader); } } catch (Exception exception) { //throw } finally { copier.Close(); } byte[] concat = output.GetBuffer(); return concat; } I am using PdfCopyFields because I need to preserve the form fields and so cannot use the PdfCopy or PdfSmartCopy. This combine code is very fast (few ms) and produces working documents. The AddJS code above is called after it and the PdfReader open is the slow piece. Any ideas?

    I have a Windows Forms app that itself launches different threads to do different kinds of work. Occasionally, ALL threads (including the UI thread) become frozen, and my app becomes unresponsive. I've decided it may be a Garbage Collector-related issue, as the GC will freeze all managed threads temporarily.     Hello, I'm trying to do databinding between 2 Dependency Properties. I guess this should be quite easy, anyways I just don't get it. I already googled but I couldn't really find out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to bind the ControlPointProperty to the QuadraticBezierSegment.Point1Property, however it doesn't work.
