  I have the following HTML, and I need to add a class to both <li> and <a> where the text 'Charts' exists (so not the second line, but rather the 4th and 5th). • Python opening a file and putting list of names on separate lines

  I am trying to write a python program using Python 3 I have to open a text file and read a list of names, print the list, sort the list in alphabetical order and then finally re-print the list. There's a little more to it than that BUT the problem I am having is that I'm supposed to print the list of names with each name on a separate line Instead of printing each name on a separate line, it prints the list all on one line. • MS Office Excel Ribbon - Cannot change/hide Editing group in Home tab

  I have a .net addin for Excel. The addin creates the Ribbon UI for Excel 2007 and re-purposes some existing commands such as Cut, Copy, Paste, Sort etc. For Cut, Copy and Paste I am just overriding their OnAction value to call my own procedure when the buttons are clicked. But for Sort, Sort Asc and Sort Desc commands the case is a little different. When either of the Sort, Sort Asc or Sort Desc buttons are clicked, I want to get notified and then call the default functionality. This was possible in Excel 2003 commandsbars by calling the Execute() method on the CommandBarControl. In Excel 2007, there is a ExecuteMso() method to programmatically click a ribbon element but when the OnAction is overridden, this ExecuteMso() method just executes my own procedure and not the default functionality of that button. So I thought that I will HIDE the Sort buttons in the "Editing" group in Home tab and add my own Sort, Sort Asc and Sort Desc buttons to it. The buttons will call into my procedure first from where I will call the default behavior. Now the problem is that I am unable to change/hide the Editing group (idMso="GroupEditing"). Is this built-in group not editable? • Which is better Java programming practice: stacking enums and enum constructors, or subclassing?

  Hi folks, Given a finite number of items which differ in kind, is it better to represent them with stacked enums and enum constructors, or to subclass them? Or is there a better approach altogether? To give you some context, in my small RPG program (which ironically is supposed to be simple), a character has different kinds of items in his or her inventory. Items differ based on their type and use and effect. For example, one item of inventory is a spell scroll called Gremlin that adjusts the Utility attribute. Another item might be a sword called Mort that is used in combat and inflicts damage. In my RPG code, I now have tried two ways of representing inventory items. One way was subclassing (for example, InventoryItem - Spell - AdjustingAttributes; InventoryItem - Weapon - Sword) and instantiating each subclass when needed, and assigning values such as names like Gremlin and Mort. The other way was by stacking enums and enum constructors. For example, I created enums for itemCategory and itemSpellTypes and itemWeaponTypes, and the InventoryItem enum was like this: public enum InventoryItem { GREMLIN(itemType.SPELL, itemSpellTypes.ATTRIBUTE, Attribute.UTILITY), MORT(itemType.WEAPON, itemWeaponTypes.SWORD, 30); InventoryItem(itemType typeOfItem, itemSpellTypes spellType, Attribute attAdjusted) { // snip, enum logic here } InventoryItem(itemType typeOfItem, itemWeaponTypes weaponType, int dmg) { // snip, enum logic here } // and so on, for all the permutations of items. } Is there a better Java programming practice than these two approaches? • Facebook: Social Widgets versus Share

  Hello all, I am interested in people's thoughts on Facebook's new social widgets thing. Most notably the new "Like" button. The concept I am struggling with is the difference between "Like" and "Share". I have an existing Connect application. This application has its own fan page on Facebook. People can become "Fans" of the page and register to receive email updates and the like. The application is currently programmed to update its own fan page any time content is added to the site. Enter Social Widgets and "Like". People who visit our site can currently "share" our content on Facebook. With "Share" they can post a full item to their wall with a comment or send the content item as a message to another Facebook user. "Like" seems to do the same thing minus the message part. However "Like" automatically subscribes people to the fan page. My question is simply, should I add "Like" to my existing Connect site? Is "Like" different than what I already have? Are Social Widgets the future of Connect? Thanks!

  I have a set of sql - queries: List<String> queries = ... queries[0] = "select id from person where ..."; ... queries[8756] = "select id from person where ..."; Each query selects rows from the same table 'person'. The only difference is the where-clause. Table 'person' looks like this: id | name | ... many other columns How can i determine which queries will contain a certain person in their subset? For example: List<Integer> matchingQueries = magicMethod(queries, [23,45]); The list obtained by 'magicMethod' filters all sql queries present in the list 'queries' (defined above) and returns only those that contain either the person with id 23 OR a person with id 45. Why i need it: I am dealing with an application that contains products and categories where the categories are sql queries that define which products belong to them (queries stored in a table also). Now i have a requirement where an admin has to see all categories an item belongs to immediately after the item was created.   Hi I am trying to iterate through every node in a xml, be it the element node, text node or comment. With the below XSL in the very first statement prints the complete xml. • SQL Databases and table design/organization

  (NOOB disclaimer) I'm working on a system (a type of map), that is accessed mostly via 3 fields: ID (auto incremented), X coordinate, and Y coordinate. As it is right now, i have all data on the map, stored in 1 table. Whenever the map display is loaded it simply queries the database for contents in x and y, and the DB gives the data (other fields in the same entry). If an item on the map is doing something, it has a flag saying its doing something, and then has an ID of the action in another table holding that type of 'actions'. Essentially, for all map data, its stored in 1 table. All actions of a certain type are stored in their own table. I'm a noob, and i'm wondering what the most effective/efficient structure for such a design? (a map that has items, and each item has stats/actions). I'm using PHP atm, using standard SQL queries to get my data. Should i split up the tables so that there are only x number of entries on a table? (coord range limits)? Should it just keep growing and growing? There's a lot of queries to the table... so just tryin to see what is best :/

  I am having difficulties with forms, specifically ModelMultipleChoiceField. I've pieced together this code from various examples, but it sadly doesn't work. • How to get at specific HTML elements of a document using C# and Hide them/Show them etc.

  Basically I want to load a HTML document and using controls such as multiple check boxes which will be programmed to hide, delete or show HTML elements with certain ID's. So I am thinking I would have to set an inline CSS property for visibility to: false on the ones I want to hide or delete them altogether when necessary. I need this so I don't have to edit my Ebay HTML templates in dreamweaver all the time, where I usually have to scroll around messy code and manually delete or add tags and their respective content. Whereas I just want to create one master template in dreamweaver which has all the variations that my products have, since they are all of the same genre with slight changes here and there and I just need to enable and disable the visibility of these variants as required and copy + paste the final html. I haven's used Windows Forms before, but tried doing this in WebForms which I do know a bit. I am able to get the result that I want by wrapping any HTML elements in a <asp:PlaceHolder></asp:PlaceHolder> and just setting that place holders visibility to false after the associated checkbox is checked and a postback occurs, finally I add a checkbox/button control that removes all the checkboxes, including itself etc for final html. But this method seems just like too much pain in the ass as I have to add the placeholder tags around everything that I need control over as ordinary html elements do not run at server, also webforms injects a bunch of Javascript and ViewState data so I don't have clean HTML which I can just copy after viewing the page source. Any tips/code that you can suggest to achieve the desired effect with the least changes required to existing HTML documents? Ideally I would want to load the HTML document in, have a live design preview of it and underneath have a bunch of well labelled checkboxes programmed to hide, delete or show elements with certain ID's.   I've got a "Loading Progress" WPF form which I instantiate when I start loading some results into my Main Window, and every time a result is loaded I want the progress bar to fill up by x amount (Based on the amount of results I'm loading). However what happens is that the Progress bar in the window stays blank the entire time, until the results have finished loading, then it will just display the full progress bar. Does this need threading to work properly? • Deploying a WAR to tomcat only using a context descriptor

  i need to deploy a web application in WAR format to a remote tomcat6 server. The thing is that i don't want to do that the easy way, meaning not just copy/paste the WAR file to /webapps. So the second choice is to create a unique "Context Descriptor" and pointing this out to the WAR file. (Hope i got that right till here) So i have a few questions: Is the WAR file allowed to be anywhere in the file system? Meaning can i copy the WAR file anywhere in the remote file system, except /webapps or any other folder of the tomcat6 installation? Is there an easy way to test whether the deployment was successful or not? Without using any browser or anything, since i'm reaching to the remote server only via SSH and terminal. (I'm thinking ping?) Is it normal that the startup.sh/shutdown.sh don't exist? I'm not the admin of the server and don't know how the tomcat6 is installed. But i'm sure that in my local tomcat installations these files are in /bin and ready to use. I mean you can still start/restart/stop the tomcat etc., but not with the these -standard?- scripts.   In Firefox, there is no problem. Sorry :( I'm using Isotope jQuery plugin, and the CSS3 transitions seem to cause the poor font-rendering. I'm also using Google Font API. • jQuery: Moving window (or FIFO) type DIV?

  I have been trying to get this effect for a couple of hours now and I must admit I am failing at it. I am trying to construct a DIV that accepts a particular number of items (say 5), when the 6th item is added, the first item that was aded should be removed (first-in-first-out). The feel should have some kind of a fadeIn and fadeOut. The elements disappear instantaneously despite the delay and hide("slow") calls. Anyone has a more straightforward approach?

• Creating a ComboBox with one or more separator items?

  I'm using Delphi7 and I'd like to have a ComboBox with separator items (Just like in popup menus). I've seen this beautifully implemented in Mozilla Sunbird (I know, it's not Delphi...) the following way: The separator item is a simple gray line drawn in the center of the item If you hover over the separator with the mouse, the selection doesn't appear If the user clicks the separator, it's not selected either AND the combobox doesn't closeup. No. 1 could be implemented using DrawItem. I could live without No. 2 because I have no idea about that. For No. 3 I'm asking for your help. I've figured out that straight after closing up a CBN_CLOSEUP message is sent to the combobox. I thought about hooking the window proc and if CBN_CLOSEUP is sent to a certain combobox then countering it. But I'm unsure if this is the best solution, or maybe there are other, more elegant ways? Whatever the solution is, I'd like to have a standard ComboBox which supports WinXP/Vista/7 theming properly. Thanks! • Why is the exception thrown on memcpy using during copying LPBYTE to LPTSTR (clipboard)?

  Hello, I have a LPBYTE array (taken from file) and I need to copy it into LPTSRT (actually into the clipboard). The trouble is copying work but unstable, sometime an exception was thrown (not always) and I don't understand why. • How to sum up a fetched result's number property based on the object's category?

  I have a NSFetchRequest that is returning all my saved objects (call them Items) and storing them in an NSMutableArray. Each of these Items have a category, an amount, and some other properties. My goal is to check the category of each Item and store the sum of the amounts for objects of the same category. So if I had these Items: Red; 10.00 Blue; 20.00 Green; 5.00 Red; 5.00 Green; 15.00 then I would have an array or other type of container than has: Red; 15.00 Blue; 20.00 Green; 20.00 What would be the best way to organize the data in such a manner? I was going to create a object class (call it Totals) that just has the category and amount. As I traverse through the fetch results in a for-loop, add Items with the same category in a Totals object an store them in a NSMutableArray. The problem I ran into with that is that I'm not sure how to check if an array contains a Totals object with a specific property. Specifically, a category that already exists. So if 'Red' exists, add the amount to it, otherwise create a new Totals object with category 'Red' and a the first Item's amount. Thanks.
