• What is an SSH key?

  I signed up for github and notice the ssh key option which looked interesting. I originally expected something like an ssl key (name, co name, etc). After going through it i notice i only put a password and it is always myuser@comp-name (this is windows). Why? I thought it was a user/pass id and i can create separate keys for separate purpose for privacy reasons. Now i see i am required to use one to create a repository. Also i see something about a 'private key file' when looking at options. What exactly is an SSH Key and how can i create a separate user without creating a separate login in windows.

• Netbeans-esque retrospective auto-comment/phpDocumentor tool (for Eclipse or standalone)

  Is there anything similar to netbean's Javadoc auto comment tool for PHP/phpDocumentor/Eclipse? In the netbeans implementation: A dialog pops up and allows you to run through all the members of your class and enter comments, which are added to the source file. It even verifies that there are no parameters you have not accounted for, so you can be sure that your comments are complete. Ideally this would be standalone software, but plugins are OK too :) p.s. netbeans 6+ auto comment was moved/renamed. • Monolog conversations in SQL Service Broker 2008

  Hi, I have a scenario in which I need to process(in SQL Server) messages being delivered as .xml files in a folder in real time. I started investigating SQL Service Broker for my queuing needs. Basically, I want the Service Broker to pick up my .xml files and place them in a queue as they arrive in the folder. But, SQL Service Broker does not support "Monolog" conversations, at least not in the current version. It supports only a dialog between an initiator and a target service. I can use MSMQ but then I will have two things to maintain - the .Net Code for file processing in MSMQ and the SQL Server T-SQL stored procs. What options do I have left? Thanks.

• LNK2001: What have I forgotton to set?

  Following on from my previous question regarding debugging of native code, I decided to create a simple test from a console app as I wasn't getting anywhere with debugging the service directly. So I created a vc6 console app, added the dll project to the workspace and ran it. Instead of executing as expected it spat out the following linker errors: main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "int __stdcall hmDocumentLAdd(char *,char *,long,char *,char *,long,long,long,long *)" (?hmDocumentLAdd@@YGHPAD0J00JJJPAJ@Z) main.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol "int __stdcall hmGetDocBasePath(char *,long)" (?hmGetDocBasePath@@YGHPADJ@Z) Debug/HazManTest.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 2 unresolved externals This seems to be a simple case of forgetting something in the linker options: However everything seems to be normal, and the lib file, dll and source is available. If I change the lib file to load to nonsense it kicks up the fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file "asdf.lib", so that isn't a problem. I have previously linked to dll and they have just worked, so what I have forgotton to do?

• Tortoise SVN Icon Overlays Displaying Everywhere...Why?

  Update: So, this turns out to have nothing to do with Tortoise SVN. I use Mozy.com for off-site backups and their new version includes these icon overlays. They can be disabled via the config options...or see here http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?p=1385433. Thanks @OS for the answer. Been using Tortoise SVN for some time on my Vista box. Within the last few days (and after recently upgrading to 1.5.4) the icon overlays are displaying on all files. My exclude path is: * My include paths are: C:\Users\jw\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\SVNProjects* C:\Users\jw\Documents\VB Projects\SVNProjects* I haven't touched those settings in months. Any ideas? Help. Thanks.

• Rail 3 custom renderer: where do put this code?

  I'm following along with Yehuda's example on how to build a custom renderer for Rails 3, according to this post: http://www.engineyard.com/blog/2010/render-options-in-rails-3/ I've got my code working, but I'm having a hard time figuring out where this code should live. Right now, I've got my code stuck right inside of my controller file. Doing this, everything works. When I move the code to the lib folder, though, I have explicitly 'require' my file in the controller that needs the renderer or it won't work. Yes, the file gets loaded when it sits in the lib folder, automatically. but the code to add the renderer isn't working for some reason, until I do a require on it. where should I put my code to add the renderer and mime type, so that rails 3 will pick it up and register it for me, without me having to manually require the file in my controller?

• How to override the behavior of Spring @Autowired

  Hi a little background: I am Using Spring 2.5, and specifically spring IOC and annotations. I am using @Autowired in my code (the Autowiring is done by type) and use @Component for exposing Classes to the Automatic wiring. The situation described bellow arose while i tried to test my code. now to the problem: Note: i use a different Spring Context for the Test environment. I have a class FOO which is @Autowired but in the test context i want to use a different class of the same type MockFoo (extends FOO) The Spring Setup of course fails do so automatically due to multiple options for the Dependency Injection of the FOO class (both FOO and MockFOO comply to the Type check) I am looking for a way to inject the test bean instead of the original bean. I expected Spring to allow using the Context configurion file to override a bean injection or to order Spring not to autowire a specific bean BUT All these option seem to exists only for the beans which were originally defined in the Spring Context Configuration file

• How do I set a VB.Net ComboBox default value

  I can not locate the correct method to make the first item in a combo box visible. The app starts with an empty combo box. The user makes a radio box selection then clicks Go! (how original). The combo box is loaded via an LDAP query. All this is working just fine. The problem is the combo box still appears to the user to be empty. They must click the arrow to see the options. How do I make the first option 'visible' after the users clicks Go!? I thought it would be simple... Thanks, Ed

• Win32 select/poll/eof/ANYTHING!?!?!

  Using the standard Win32 file I/O API's (CreateFile/ReadFile/etc), I'm trying to wait for a file to become readable, or for an exception to occur on the file. If Windows had any decent POSIX support, I could just do: select(file_count, files_waiting_for_read, NULL, files_waiting_for_excpt, NULL, NULL); And select will return when there's anything interesting on some of the files. Windows doesn't support select or poll. Fine. I figured I could take the file and do something like: while(eof(file_descriptor)) { Sleep(100); } The above loop would exit when more data is available to be read. But nope, Windows doesn't have an equivalent of eof() either! I could possibly call ReadFile() on the file, and determine if it's at the eof that way. But, then I'd have to handle the reading at that point in time -- I'm hoping to simply be able to figure out that a file is readable, without actually reading it. What are my options?

• How to recover after a merge failure in TFS 2008?

  We recently attempted a large, "cherry picked" merge. First we did a full merge from one child development branch into the parent Main branch, then did a full merge of the Main branch into another child development branch, then we attempted to do a cherry pick merge from the second Development branch back into merge. There were many checkins, including renames and deletes; and when it wasn't working the person who was doing it did a bunch of TFPT rollbacks. What options do we have to recover here? Things like baseless, force, etc merge? Roll back to a point in time and somehow, try again?

• jquery - loose click() event after ajax call ???

  At the following webpage liamharding.com/pgi.php I have an option panel on the left side of the page which opens and close's upon clicking the panels 'arrow', this works fine until you select a market (for testing use one of the 'Random Walk' markets and click 'Show/Refesh Graphs'), this then makes an ajax call using get_graph(forexName, myCount, divIsNew) function. Once this call is completed a graph(s) is displayed and then my options panels click() event does not work? The ajax call returns the data in a variable ajax_data, the problem happens when I perform the following code var jq_ajax_data = $("<div/>").html(ajax_data); . I need to wrap it in a so I can extract data from it using jQuery. If this line of code is commented out the click() event works fine ?? Hope somebody can help, I have spent a lot of time but cant find what the problem is.

• WinUSB application or User-Mode Driver as a filter driver for USB Analysis/Sniffer/Trending

  A question to maybe some who have worked extensively with WinUSB APIs or use mode USB drivers - Does anyone know if the WinUSB API or a user mode driver can be used as a passive observer of USB connections, capturing notification of interrupts, control requests, data transfers...etc without interfering with other applications (such as iTunes) which would obviously require concurrent access to the device at the same time my application is monitoring the connection and displaying data on it? Or do you pretty much have to write a kernel-mode filter driver and inject yourself in the USB stack in order to make that happen? In the past, there have been a few credible options (libusb-win32 and usbsnoop to be specific) though both are built around the old DDK, not the Windows Driver Foundation, and are not really supported on a regular basis any more. I'm hesitant to build something significant around them, as a result.

  Anyone knows the steps to run Apache on server A as front end and run mod_proxy_ajp to connect to tomcat instances on server B? I want to run apache on sever A to do name based vhost that connects to many tomcat servers. I can run mod_proxy_ajp, only if apache and tomcat are on the same server. What I've tried so far: In server A, running Apache 2.2: NameVirtualHost *:80 ServerName tc0.domo.lan ErrorLog "C:\Apache\Apache2.2\logs\tc0.ajp.error.log" CustomLog "C:\Apache\Apache2.2\logs\tc0.ajp.access.log" combined DocumentRoot C:/htdocs0 AddDefaultCharset Off Order deny,allow Allow from all ProxyPass / ajp://192.168.77.233:8009/ ProxyPassReverse / ajp://192.168.77.233:8009/ Options FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None Order deny,allow Allow from all Server B: 192.168.77.233, tomcat 6 connector: I can confirm if going to http://192.168.77.233:8080/manager/html, tomcat works. • C, Linux: Receiving data from multiple multicast address on same port - how to distinguish them?

  2 vote down star I have an application that is receiving data from multiple multicast sources on the same port. I am able to receive the data. However, I am trying to account for statistics of each group (i.e. msgs received, bytes received) and all the data is getting mixed up. Does anyone know how to solved this problem? If I try to look at the sender's address, it is not the multicast address, but rather the IP of the sending machine. I am using the following socket options: struct ip_mreq mreq; mreq.imr_multiaddr.s_addr = inet_addr("224.1.2.3"); mreq.imr_interface.s_addr = INADDR_ANY; setsockopt(s, IPPROTO_IP, IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP, &mreq, sizeof(mreq)); and also: setsockopt(s, SOL_SOCKET, SO_REUSEPORT, &reuse, sizeof(reuse)); I appreciate any help!!!

• Problems with XAML WPF 4.0 Editor in VS2010

  Wondering if anybody else has found some very odd behaviour with the XAML/WPF 4 editor in VS2010. This only occurs if the project is using .NET 4. Whenever I tried to open a XAML document for editing, the window would appear to open for a split second and then vanish, but VS2010 would still list the window as open. The fault was eventually traced to having the "Reuse current document window, if saved" option under "Documents" in the "Environment" options checked. Once this was unchecked XAML 4 files opened as expected. As I said, this only appears to occur on projects targeted at .NET Framework 4 - those targeted at 3.5 worked without a problem, and the "Reuse current document window, if saved" appears to work fine on other files.

  i have a form that has a multiple select drop down. a user can select more than one options in the select. the name of the select is array[]; using php i implode(",",$array) in mysql db, it stores the field as a text in this format "places"= "new york, toronto, london" when i want to display these fields i explode the commas. i am trying to run a report to display the places. here is my select: "select * from mytable where db.places .. userSelectedPlaces" how can i check toronto in lists of "places" that user selected? note "places" in the db might be either just "toronto" or it might be comma separated lists of places like "ny, toronto, london, paris, etc".

  i try to install moodle web software...i m using wamp server and sqlserver 2005 version. i install php driver for php5.3.0 thread safe version..i just paste that php_sqlsrv_ts.dll driver file into my php ext directory...i include this line extension=php_sqlsrv_ts.dll in my php.ini file... now i restart my wampserver...i m getting this error...   Hi, I've created a view with a set filters exposed (to show filtering options in the page). And one of those filters is a select field with all the taxonomy terms of a vocabulary. That's ok, it's showing now. But I want to only show the taxonomy terms that have at least one node associated to it. To avoid empty results if selects an empty term. Anyone knows how to do that?   On Firefox, I click Tools, Addons, Extensions, Greasemonkey, Options, select my user script, click Edit, change the source code, reload one of the included pages, but the script is the unchanged version. On User Scripts, logged in, I click my username, Script Management, my script's name, Admin, Edit Code Online, change the source code, click save, the link to the install page, install and the script is the changed version. How did you turn on Live Editing? While following Greasemonkey tutorials, this feature is not working... Are you going to use the "works on my computer" excuse? Should this be on the Stack Overflow sister site Super User?

• vs2008 mystery: Quick macro record and playback shortcuts not allowed?

  in vs2008, Tools, Macros, Record TemporaryMacro keyboard shortcut toggle is Ctrl+Shift+R; Run TemporaryMacro keyboard shorcut is Ctrl+Shift+P for playback. I've used them before, but they've stopped working. If I open Tools, Options, Keyboard, then navigate to a command like Tools.Run that has no assigned keyboard shortcut, I can experiment by pretending to assign a keyboard shorcut: I simply click inside the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox and try different keystroke combinations. Examples: Ctrl+p: currently assigned to File.Print Ctrl+r: currently assigned to various uses Ctrl+Shift+Q: available Ctrl+Shift+B: currently assigned to Build.BuildSolution BUT vs2008 will not even allow me to type either of Ctrl+Shift+P or Ctrl+Shift+R in the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox. When I type those combinations, nothing appears in the "Press shortcut keys:" textbox. Please note: I can record and playback a temporary macro by using the menu commands, however, the mouse is like a turtle when compared to the keyboard. • Make process crash on large memory allocation

  I'm trying to find a significant memory leak (15MB at a time, but doing allocations like this on multiple places). I checked the most obvious places, and then used AQTime, but I still can't pinpoint it. Now I see 2 options left: 1) Use SetProcessWorkingSetSize: I've tried this but my process happily keeps on running when using up more then 150MB: DWORD MemorySize = 150*1024*1024; SetProcessWorkingSetSize( GetCurrentProcess(), MemorySize/2, MemorySize*2 ); 2) Put a breakpoint when allocating more then 1MB at a time. How should I do this, overload operator new with an 'if1MB' inside ?

• In Dos batch file press ENTER key to open program or press any other key to exit from bat.

  I have a DOS batch file that show some results on the cmd console. I want users to press Enter to run program or press any other key on the keyboard to exit. I don't want to use options/choices because in that case user will have to enter at least something which I need to check and set the action. Example: At the end of the cmd console something say like this Press ENTER to open abc.exe or press any key on the keyboard to exit! Thanks!
