• ASP.NET Gridview Checkbox value to DataTable

  Hey all, First off, im using a checkbox to highlight a true or false value from a dataset which I want to be able to change it. Unfortunately databinding the DataTable to the GridView checkboxes doesnt work (as you probably know) as it requires it to be in "edit" mode. The way I've gotten round this is having the checkbox reading the data table value seperately rather than being databound and locked: Checked='<%# Convert.ToBoolean(Eval("myValue")) %>' So that solves checkbox values from DataTable - GridView, now I need to do the opposite having the changed checkbox values go from GridView - DataTable as it is not ready to submit it to my data source (SQL) just yet. I figure I need to run a loop through the GridView rows, thats a give'un, what I can't figure out is how to replace/update just a single value in a row of a DataTable , only the ability to add or remove an entire row by the looks of things (something I don't want to do). So can anyone offer a workaround? Or is there a way to have a databound but always editable checkbox in a gridview?

  I am trying to scale an image when you mouseenter, which is working. I would like the image to gradually scale up with an ease transition. I used ease-in-out, which it's not working. Any suggestions? Also, I used addClass & removeClass twice in the jquery code. Is there a way to only use it once? • Problem with PHP 'PHP_SELF'

  I am having a bit of trouble. It does not seem to be a big deal, but I have created a page that the user can edit a MySQL database. Once they click submit it should process the php within the if statement and echo 1 record updated. The problem is that it does not wait to echo the statement. It just seems to ignore the way I wrote my if and display the whole page. • Loading external pngs into an AS2 swf that is loaded into an AS3 swf wrapper

  I have a Wrapper SWF that loads a series of AS2 movies. Each AS2 movie loads a series of .png files. AS3_wrapper.swf |-> AS2_1.swf |-> image_1.png |-> image_2.png |-> AS2_2.swf |-> image_1.png |-> image_2.png Inside of the AS2 I listen for the load of the pngs using onLoadInit and update my UI. This works fine for the first AS2 swf. But when I load the second AS2 swf the onLoadInit isn't triggered for the pngs. My guess is that the images are in a cache or something like that. I put a random string on the end of the request to try and avoid the cache but that doesn't seem to work. The code in the as2 looks roughly like this: var flagLoader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader(); var listener:Object = new Object(); listener.onLoadInit = Delegate.create(this, handleImageLoad); flagLoader.addListener(listener); var row:MovieClip = frame1["row" + (numLoaded + 1)]; flagLoader.loadClip(predictionData[numLoaded].flag + "?r="+Math.random(), row.flag); I'm making sure to load only one image at a time (I've read anecdotal evidence loading more than one thing at a time can confuse the MovieClipLoader). For the first as2 file everything works great. When I load the second as2 file the handleImageLoad never gets called. Update: Even more perplexing is if I reload the first AS2 movie (after the second AS2 movie fails to load the images) the first AS2 movie loads the images again fine. Update 2: After trying to change from using a MovieClipLoader to polling (as was helpfully suggested) I have found some more evidence that is relevant. When I load the first AS2 files and trace from the top level clip it prints out _root. The second AS2 file when loaded traces the same _root. This lead me to check if they were clashing on names and they are. Both have a child called frame. The first one, when I trace it comes out as _root.frame as expected. The second AS2 file traces _level0.instance3.instance118.instance111.frame. I'm guessing this is related to the problem. Flash is keeping the _root of the two files the same but it is changing the locations of their children (for subsequently loaded files that have children with the same names). So either the onLoad is going to the wrong clip or the events about it loading are.

• Firefox 3.6 and CSS difference from previous versions of Firefox 3.5 and back?

  So, in upgrading to Firefox 3.6, the CSS broke on input boxes. The padding has increased -- it might also be the font-size is somehow behaving different. Wondering if anyone else has seen this problem yet. Can't quite figure it out. HTML CODE: <form> <fieldset> <label for="inputField">Label</label> <input type="text" id="inputField" /> </fieldset> </form> CSS CODE: form fieldset label { display:block; font-size:1.2em; font-weight:bold; padding:12px 9px; } #jumptoBox fieldset input { background: url("../images/input.png") no-repeat scroll left top transparent; font-size: 1.2em; padding: 4px 5px 16px; width: 99px; height: 29px; } (Image dimensions: 109 width x 34 height) So one thing to note, the fix (as outlined below) includes removing the height, or at least setting it to auto, and then compensating for it by using padding (a fix that bothers me on many levels, but we'll set that aside for now). BUT webkit seems to have its own problems with this now, since it wants to center the text vertically (ignoring any evidence of line-height) according to the height of everything. In other words, if you want the text vertically closer to the top, I haven't been able to figure out a way to do that. Ideas?

I could just ditch the setter and access the frontLeft variable directly, but I was under the impression I should use setters and getters as much as possible and logically it seems like the setFrontLeft method should work. This brings up an additional question that my coworkers keep asking in these regards (we are all new to Objective-C); why use a setter and getter at all if you are in the same class as those setters and getters.

• Using java2d user space measurements with TextLayout and LineBreakMeasurer

  I have a java2d image defined in user space (mm) to print an identity card. The transformation to pixels is by using an AffineTransform for the required DPI (Screen or print). The font size is calculated as best vertical fit for the number of lines in an area with the calculation as below. E.g. attr.put(TextAttribute.SIZE, (geTextArea().getHeight() / noOfLines - LINE_SPACING) ); When using g2d.drawString("Some text to display", x, y); the font size appears correct. Does anyone have a better way of doing text layout in user space co-ords?

  Hi, My Grails app has a User class and a Role class. The User class has an authorities property which holds the roles assigned to that user, e.g. class User { static hasMany = [authorities: Role] // This method is called automatically after a user is inserted def afterInsert() { this.authorities.size() } } If I create a user and assign them a role, a NullPointerException is thrown from the GORM event method afterInsert(), because authorities is null. If I comment out afterInsert() the user is saved correctly along with the assigned role. Is there some reason why I can't access associations from GORM event methods. Is is possible that this event is fired after the User row is inserted, but before the row is added to the User-Role join table? Thanks, Don

• Representing Sparse Data in PostgreSQL

  What's the best way to represent a sparse data matrix in PostgreSQL? The two obvious methods I see are: Store data in a single a table with a separate column for every conceivable feature (potentially millions), but with a default value of NULL for unused features. This is conceptually very simple, but I know that with most RDMS implementations, that this is typically very inefficient, since the NULL values ususually takes up some space. However, I read an article (can't find its link unfortunately) that claimed PG doesn't take up data for NULL values, making it better suited for storing sparse data. Create separate "row" and "column" tables, as well as an intermediate table to link them and store the value for the column at that row. I believe this is the more traditional RDMS solution, but there's more complexity and overhead associated with it. I also found PostgreDynamic, which claims to better support sparse data, but I don't want to switch my entire database server to a PG fork just for this feature. Are there any other solutions? Which one should I use?

  0 vote down star I am using GridView in asp .net and editing data with edit command field property (as we know after updating the edited row, we automatically update the database), and I want to use transactions (with begin to commit statement - including rollback) to commit this update query in database, after clicking in some button (after some events for example), not automatically to insert or update the edited data from grid directly to the DB...so I want to save them somewhere temporary (even many edited rows - not just one row) and then to confirm the transaction - to update the real tables in database... Any suggestions are welcomed... I have 4 tables: business photos video category I want to display "featured" businesses on the home page (or elsewhere) and I want to show a Yes or No in the table row based upon whether or not there are photos or videos for that business. Example: Joes Crab Shack has no videos or photos but is featured. So, when his row is echoed out it will show the Business Name and Business Owner but there will be no data in the photo or video cells thus in the video and photos column it will say No. Otherwise, if the opposite was true, it would say Yes.   I have a vector of vectors: vector< vector<int> > BigVec; It contains an arbitrary number of vectors, each of an arbitrary size. I want to delete not duplicate elements of each vector, but any vectors that are the exact same as another. I don't need to preserve the order of the vectors so I can sort etc.. • Footer positioning with CSS and 960gs

  I'm new to doing layouts with CSS (I haven't done any web design for a long long time) and I can't seem to figure out how to get the footer of the page to display at the bottom the way I want. Requirements: -Display at bottom of content if content exceeds vertical size of viewport -Display at bottom of viewport if viewport exceeds vertical size of content. The code that I am using sets the footer at the bottom of the viewport, but if I size the browser to be shorter than the content, it just covers the content. Code: <div style="background-image:url(footer_bg.jpg); background-position:bottom; background-repeat:repeat-x; height:235px; width:100%; bottom:0px; position:absolute;"></div> My main goal is to have a footer with text (ie. company info, contact info) and a background gradient. I'd like the footer background to span the width of the page, but I don't know if I can do that with the 960 gs divs.

• How do I read Unicode characters from an MS Access 2007 database through Java?

  In Java, I have written a program that reads a UTF8 text file. The text file contains a SQL query of the SELECT kind. The program then executes the query on the Microsoft Access 2007 database and writes all fields of the first row to a UTF8 text file. The problem I have is when a row is returned that contains unicode characters, such as "?". These characters show up as "?" in the text file. I know that the text files are read and written correctly, because a dummy UTF8 character ("?") is read from the text file containing the SQL query and written to the text file containing the resulting row. The UTF8 character looks correct when the written text file is opened in Notepad, so the reading and writing of the text files are not part of the problem. This is how I connect to the database and how I execute the SQL query: ---- START CODE Connection c = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)};DBQ=C:/database.accdb;Pwd=temp"); ResultSet r = c.createStatement().executeQuery(sql); ---- END CODE I have tried making a charSet property to the Connection but it makes no difference: ---- START CODE Properties p = new Properties(); p.put("charSet", "utf-8"); p.put("lc_ctype", "utf-8"); p.put("encoding", "utf-8"); Connection c = DriverManager.getConnection("...", p); ---- END CODE Tried with "utf8"/"UTF8"/"UTF-8", no difference. I also accept workaround suggestions. =) What I want to be able to do is to make a Unicode query (for example one that searches for posts that contain the "?" character) and to have results with Unicode characters receieved and saved correctly.   Hello Everyone, My question is to get onMouseover,onMouseout,onMousedown,onClick on a table row. For which i am calling javascript userdefined functions. onMouseover --- Background color should change. onMouseout --- Reset to original color onClick --- First column checkbox/radio button should be set and background color should change onMousedown --- background color should change. But coming to firefox i am surprised on seeing the output after so much of coding. In Firefox:-- onMouseOver is working as expected. color change of that particular row. onClick -- Setting the background color permenantly..eventhough i do onmouseover on different rows. the clicked row color is not reset to white. -- not as expected onclick on 2 rows..the background of both the rows is set...not as expected i.e if i click on all the rows..background color of everything is changed... Eventhough i click on the row. First column i.e radio button or checkbox is not set.. Please help me to solve this issue in firefox. Do let me know where my code needs to be changed...   I'm trying to read the response stream from an HttpWebResponse object. I know the length of the stream (_response.ContentLength) however I keep getting the following exception: Specified argument was out of the range of valid values. Parameter name: size While debugging, I noticed that at the time of the error, the values were as such: length = 15032 //the length of the stream as defined by _response.ContentLength bytesToRead = 7680 //the number of bytes in the stream that still need to be read bytesRead = 7680 //the number of bytes that have been read (offset) body.length = 15032 //the size of the byte[] the stream is being copied to The peculiar thing is that the bytesToRead and bytesRead variables are ALWAYS 7680, regardless of the size of the stream (contained in the length variable). Any ideas?
