  • What is the scope of xsl apply-imports?

    - by calavera.info
    My original idea about apply-imports was that if there are two templates which matches the same node, then using apply-imports in a template with higher priority runs the template with the lower priority. But I recently find out that it's important how are imports organized. Two cases interests me particularly. Will apply imports work on a template which is imported in imported file (nested import)? How about a "sibling import" (master file imports two files with templates matching the same nodes) It seems to me that this is not clearly described in specification. Could someone provide authoritative guidelines? EDIT: I can try those cases on my own, but there is always a danger that it will be implementation specific behavior.

  • Best practices to develop and maintaing code for complex JQuery/JQueryUI based applications

    - by dafi
    I'm working on my first very complex JQuery based application. A single web page can contain hundreds of JQuery related code for example to JQueryUI dialogs. Now I want to organize code in separated files. For example I'm moving all initialization dialogs code $("#dialog-xxx").dialog({...}) in separated files and due to reuse I wrap them on single function call like dialogs.js function initDialog_1() { $("#dialog-1").dialog({}); } function initDialog_2() { $("#dialog-2").dialog({}); } This simplifies function code and make caller page clear $(function() { // do some init stuff initDialog_1(); initTooltip_2(); }); Is this the correct pattern? Are you using more efficient techniques? I know that splitting code in many js files introduces an ugly band-bandwidth usage so. Does exist some good practice or tool to 'join' files for production environments? I imagine some tool that does more work than simply minimize and/or compress JS code.

  • CakePHP 1.3 and Uploadifive/Uploadify - Change Upload Filename to a random string

    - by CaboONE
    I have somehow implemented UPLOADIFIVE in my CakePHP application. Everything seems to work great including uploading multiple files and inserting the correct information in the Database. Based on the following code, I would like to UPLOAD AND SAVE EVERY FILE WITH A RANDOM NAME TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE CURRENT DATE OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. How could I accomplish this? In my Photos Controller I have the following function: // This function is called at every file upload. It uploads the file onto the server // and save the corresponding image name, etc, to the database table `photos`. function upload() { $uploadDir = '/img/uploads/photos/'; if (!empty($_FILES)) { debug($_FILES); $tempFile = $_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name'][0]; $uploadDir = $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . $uploadDir; $targetFile = $uploadDir . $_FILES['Filedata']['name'][0]; // Validate the file type $fileTypes = array('jpg', 'jpeg', 'gif', 'png'); // Allowed file extensions $fileParts = pathinfo($_FILES['Filedata']['name'][0]); // Validate the filetype if (in_array($fileParts['extension'], $fileTypes)) { // Save the file move_uploaded_file($tempFile,$targetFile); $_POST['image'] = $_FILES['Filedata']['name'][0]; $this->Photo->create(); if ($this->Photo->save($_POST)) { $this->Session->setFlash($targetFile, 'default', array('class' => 'alert_success')); $this->redirect(array('action' => 'index')); } } else { // The file type wasn't allowed //echo 'Invalid file type.'; $this->Session->setFlash(__('The photo could not be saved. Please, try again.', true)); } } } In my View file - admin_add.ctp I have added the following function $('#file_upload').uploadifive({ 'auto' : false, 'uploadScript' : '/photos/upload', 'buttonText' : 'BROWSE FILES', 'method' : 'post', 'onAddQueueItem' : function(file) { this.data('uploadifive').settings.formData = { 'photocategory_id' : $('#PhotoPhotocategoryId').val() }; } }); <input type="file" name="file_upload" id="file_upload" />

  • Inheritance using prototype / "new"

    - by mikkol
    Hi I'm new in Javascript OO and want to know more about about inheritance. Hope you can provide some advice! I see this great post: How to "properly" create a custom object in JavaScript? which talks about how a class is inherited as I see in other websites, ex.: function man(x) { this.x = x; this.y = 2; } man.prototype.name = "man"; man.prototype.two = function() { this.y = "two"; } function shawn() { man.apply(this, arguments); }; shawn.prototype = new man; The above post claims that in order not to call "man"'s constructor while inheriting, one can use a helper like this instead: function subclassOf(base) { _subclassOf.prototype= base.prototype; return new _subclassOf(); } function _subclassOf() {}; shawn.prototype = subclassOf(man); While I understand its intention, I don't see why we can't call shawn.prototype = man.prototype; I see it works exactly the same. Or is there something I'm missing? Thanks in advance!

  • Zend Framework: How to start PHPUnit testing Forms?

    - by Andrew
    I am having trouble getting my filters/validators to work correctly on my form, so I want to create a Unit test to verify that the data I am submitting to my form is being filtered and validated correctly. I started by auto-generating a PHPUnit test in Zend Studio, which gives me this: <?php require_once 'PHPUnit/Framework/TestCase.php'; /** * Form_Event test case. */ class Form_EventTest extends PHPUnit_Framework_TestCase { /** * @var Form_Event */ private $Form_Event; /** * Prepares the environment before running a test. */ protected function setUp () { parent::setUp(); // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest::setUp() $this->Form_Event = new Form_Event(/* parameters */); } /** * Cleans up the environment after running a test. */ protected function tearDown () { // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest::tearDown() $this->Form_Event = null; parent::tearDown(); } /** * Constructs the test case. */ public function __construct () { // TODO Auto-generated constructor } /** * Tests Form_Event->init() */ public function testInit () { // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest->testInit() $this->markTestIncomplete( "init test not implemented"); $this->Form_Event->init(/* parameters */); } /** * Tests Form_Event->getFormattedMessages() */ public function testGetFormattedMessages () { // TODO Auto-generated Form_EventTest->testGetFormattedMessages() $this->markTestIncomplete( "getFormattedMessages test not implemented"); $this->Form_Event->getFormattedMessages(/* parameters */); } } so then I open up terminal, navigate to the directory, and try to run the test: $ cd my_app/tests/unit/application/forms $ phpunit EventTest.php Fatal error: Class 'Form_Event' not found in .../tests/unit/application/forms/EventTest.php on line 19 So then I add a require_once at the top to include my Form class and try it again. Now it says it can't find another class. I include that one and try it again. Then it says it can't find another class, and another class, and so on. I have all of these dependencies on all these other Zend_Form classes. What should I do? How should I go about testing my Form to make sure my Validators and Filters are being attached correctly, and that it's doing what I expect it to do. Or am I thinking about this the wrong way?

  • Create Class functions on the fly?

    - by JasonS
    Hi, i have a validation class which needs improving. If I require some custom validation I need to specify a custom function. It works a bit like this: The controller tells the validation that a custom validation function is required. The controller runs the validation. --- Gets iffy here --- Validation class creates a new instance of the controller class.... Validation class runs controller-custom_validation_function() Validation class returns true / false Is there someway that I can alter this to do something like this? $validation = new validation; // Insert rules here. $validation-function() = $this-function(); By doing this I could get rid of the step of creating an unneeded class instance.

  • Why can't I install MVC (1 or 2) with Visual Web Developer Express 2008 RC1?

    - by Stefan
    Hi all, I have installed VWD 2010 Express and love MVC2. I have an existing ASP.NET 3.5 website that I'd like to redevelop with ASP.NET MVC2 under VWD 2008 with the 3.5 framework (the host only supports .Net 3.5, and Express 2010 doesn't support targeting of .Net framework versions) I am however unable to install MVC2 with VWD 2008. The installer (for 2008 SP1) says it has installed, but the MVC project templates don't show up when I create a new project. I also had this problem originally with MVC1 which is why I gave up at some point and just created it as a normal ASP.NET website. I tried uninstalling and installing VWD 2008, and then installing MVC2, but this didn't solve the problem. Does anyone know why this problem occurs, or how to solve it? Or is there a way to add these templates and the tooling manually?

  • N-Tier Architecture - Structure with multiple projects in VB.NET

    - by focus.nz
    I would like some advice on the best approach to use in the following situation... I will have a Windows Application and a Web Application (presentation layers), these will both access a common business layer. The business layer will look at a configuration file to find the name of the dll (data layer) which it will create a reference to at runtime (is this the best approach?). The reason for creating the reference at runtime to the data access layer is because the application will interface with a different 3rd party accounting system depending on what the client is using. So I would have a separate data access layer to support each accounting system. These could be separate setup projects, each client would use one or the other, they wouldn't need to switch between the two. Projects: MyCompany.Common.dll - Contains interfaces, all other projects have a reference to this one. MyCompany.Windows.dll - Windows Forms Project, references MyCompany.Business.dll MyCompany.Web.dll - Website project, references MyCompany.Business.dll MyCompany.Busniess.dll - Business Layer, references MyCompany.Data.* (at runtime) MyCompany.Data.AccountingSys1.dll - Data layer for accounting system 1 MyCompany.Data.AccountingSys2.dll - Data layer for accounting system 2 The project MyCompany.Common.dll would contain all the interfaces, each other project would have a reference to this one. Public Interface ICompany ReadOnly Property Id() as Integer Property Name() as String Sub Save() End Interface Public Interface ICompanyFactory Function CreateCompany() as ICompany End Interface The project MyCompany.Data.AccountingSys1.dll and MyCompany.Data.AccountingSys2.dll would contain the classes like the following: Public Class Company Implements ICompany Protected _id As Integer Protected _name As String Public ReadOnly Property Id As Integer Implements MyCompany.Common.ICompany.Id Get Return _id End Get End Property Public Property Name As String Implements MyCompany.Common.ICompany.Name Get Return _name End Get Set(ByVal value as String) _name = value End Set End Property Public Sub Save() Implements MyCompany.Common.ICompany.Save Throw New NotImplementedException() End Sub End Class Public Class CompanyFactory Implements ICompanyFactory Public Function CreateCompany() As ICompany Implements MyCompany.Common.ICompanyFactory.CreateCompany Return New Company() End Function End Class The project MyCompany.Business.dll would provide the business rules and retrieve data form the data layer: Public Class Companies Public Shared Function CreateCompany() As ICompany Dim factory as New MyCompany.Data.CompanyFactory Return factory.CreateCompany() End Function End Class Any opinions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Rails 3 Beta 2, Haml, Nested Layouts and LocalJumpError

    - by CJ Bryan
    Alright, I'm trying to create an app with nested templates. I'm using Rails 3 Beta 2 and Haml. I've poked around and I've decided to take the clearest approach and have structured my templates like so: # application.html.haml !!! %body %h1 Outermost Template = yield(:foobar) # inner.html.haml - content_for :foobar do %h2 Inner Template = yield = render :file => 'layouts/application' # foo_controller.rb layout 'inner' With all of this, I get a LocalJumpError with the message no block given. The stack traces are blank and pretty unhelpful. Any ideas? Are these known issues?

  • jQuery: why does my live() handler declaration error out when the analogous click() one doesn't?

    I have the following in a javascript file (using jQuery as well): $(function(){ $('#mybutton').live('click',myObject.someMethod); }); var myObject = { someMethod: function() { //do stuff } }; I get a js error on pageload that says "myObject isn't defined". However, when I change the event handler in the doc.ready function to: $('#mybutton').live('click', function(){ myObject.someMethod(); }); it works! I have code structured like the first example all over my codebase that works. W T F??

  • Cannot add namespace prefix to children using XSL

    - by Erdal
    I checked many answers here and I think I am almost there. One thing that is bugging me (and for some reason my peer needs it) follows: I have the following input XML: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <MyRoot> <MyRequest CompletionCode="0" CustomerID="9999999999"/> <List TotalList="1"> <Order CustomerID="999999999" OrderNo="0000000001" Status="Shipped"> <BillToAddress ZipCode="22221"/> <ShipToAddress ZipCode="22222"/> <Totals Tax="0.50" SubTotal="10.00" Shipping="4.95"/> </Order> </List> <Errors/> </MyRoot> I was asked to produce this: <ns:MyNewRoot xmlns:ns="http://schemas.foo.com/response" xmlns:N1="http://schemas.foo.com/request" xmlns:N2="http://schemas.foo.com/details"> <N1:MyRequest CompletionCode="0" CustomerID="9999999999"/> <ns:List TotalList="1"> <N2:Order CustomerID="999999999" Level="Preferred" Status="Shipped"> <N2:BillToAddress ZipCode="22221"/> <N2:ShipToAddress ZipCode="22222"/> <N2:Totals Tax="0.50" SubTotal="10.00" Shipping="4.95"/> </N2:Order> </ns:List> <ns:Errors/> </ns:MyNewRoot> Note the children of the N2:Order also needs N2: prefix as well as the ns: prefix for the rest of the elements. I use the XSL transformation below: <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> <xsl:output omit-xml-declaration="yes" indent="yes"/> <xsl:template match="@* | node()"> <xsl:copy> <xsl:apply-templates select="@* | node()"/> </xsl:copy> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="/MyRoot"> <MyNewRoot xmlns="http://schemas.foo.com/response" xmlns:N1="http://schemas.foo.com/request" xmlns:N2="http://schemas.foo.com/details"> <xsl:apply-templates/> </MyNewRoot> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="/MyRoot/MyRequest"> <xsl:element name="N1:{name()}" namespace="http://schemas.foo.com/request"> <xsl:copy-of select="namespace::*"/> <xsl:apply-templates select="@* | node()"/> </xsl:element> </xsl:template> <xsl:template match="/MyRoot/List/Order"> <xsl:element name="N2:{name()}" namespace="http://schemas.foo.com/details"> <xsl:copy-of select="namespace::*"/> <xsl:apply-templates select="@* | node()"/> </xsl:element> </xsl:template> </xsl:stylesheet> This one doesn't process the ns (I couldn't figure this out). When I process thru the above the XSL transformation with AltovaXML I end up with below: <MyNewRoot xmlns="http://schemas.foo.com/response" xmlns:N1="http://schemas.foo.com/request" xmlns:N2="http://schemas.foo.com/details"> <N1:MyRequest CompletionCode="0" CustomerID="9999999999"/> <List xmlns="" TotalList="1"> <N2:Order CustomerID="999999999" Level="Preferred" Status="Shipped"> <BillToAddress ZipCode="22221"/> <ShipToAddress ZipCode="22222"/> <Totals Tax="0.50" SubTotal="10.00" Shipping="4.95"/> </N2:Order> </List> <Errors/> </MyNewRoot> Note that N2: prefix for the children of Order is not there after the XSL transformation. Also additional xmlns="" in the Order header (for some reason). I couldn't figure out putting the ns: prefix for the rest of the elements (like Errors and List). First of all, why would I need to put the prefix for the children if the parent already has it. Doesn't the parent namespace dictate the children nodes/attribute namespaces? Secondly, I want to add the prefixes in the above XML as expected, how can I do that with XSL?

  • Panning Image Using Javascript in ASP.Net Page Overflows Div

    - by Bob Mc
    I have an ASP.Net page that contains a <div> with an <img> tag within. The image is large so the <div> is set with a size of 500x500 pixels with overflow set to scroll. I'm attempting to add image panning using a click and drag on the image. However, every time I begin dragging the image escapes the boundary of the element and consumes the entire page. Here is example code that illustrates the problem: <%@ Page Language="VB" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="Default.aspx.vb" Inherits="_Default" %> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head runat="server"> <title></title> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <div> <div id="divInnerDiv" style="overflow:scroll; width:500px; height:500px; cursor:move;"> <img id="imgTheImage" src="Page0001.jpg" border="0" /> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> document.onmousemove = mouseMove; document.onmouseup = mouseUp; var dragObject = null; var mouseOffset = null; function mouseCoords(ev){ if(ev.pageX || ev.pageY){ return {x:ev.pageX, y:ev.pageY}; } return { x:ev.clientX + document.body.scrollLeft - document.body.clientLeft, y:ev.clientY + document.body.scrollTop - document.body.clientTop }; } function getMouseOffset(target, ev){ ev = ev || window.event; var docPos = getPosition(target); var mousePos = mouseCoords(ev); return {x:mousePos.x - docPos.x, y:mousePos.y - docPos.y}; } function getPosition(e){ var left = 0; var top = 0; while (e.offsetParent){ left += e.offsetLeft; top += e.offsetTop; e = e.offsetParent; } left += e.offsetLeft; top += e.offsetTop; return {x:left, y:top}; } function mouseMove(ev) { ev = ev || window.event; var mousePos = mouseCoords(ev); if(dragObject){ dragObject.style.position = 'absolute'; dragObject.style.top = mousePos.y - mouseOffset.y; dragObject.style.left = mousePos.x - mouseOffset.x; return false; } } function mouseUp(){ dragObject = null; } function makeDraggable(item){ if(!item) return; item.onmousedown = function(ev){ dragObject = this; mouseOffset = getMouseOffset(this, ev); return false; } } makeDraggable(document.getElementById("imgTheImage")); </script> </div> </form> </body> </html> Also note that this HTML works fine in a non-ASP.Net page. Is there something in the ASP.Net Javascript that is causing this issue? Does anyone have a suggestion for panning a JPEG within a <div> block that will work in ASP.Net? I have tried using the jQueryUI library but the result is the same.

  • How can I make an AdvancedDataGrid re-display its labels when the results of the labelFunction chang

    - by Chris R
    I have an AdvancedDataGrid with a custom label function whose value can change based on other form status (specifically, there's a drop down to choose the time display format for some columns). Right now, I have this labelFunction: internal function formatColumnTime(item: Object, column: AdvancedDataGridColumn): String { var seconds: Number = item[column.dataField]; return timeFormat.selectedItem.labelFunction(seconds); } internal function formatTimeAsInterval(time: Number): String { if (isNaN(time)) return ""; var integerTime: int = Math.round(time); var seconds: int = integerTime % 60; integerTime = integerTime / 60; var minutes: int = integerTime % 60; var hours: int = integerTime / 60; return printf("%02d:%02d:%02d", hours, minutes, seconds); } internal function formatTimeAsFractions(time: Number): String { if (isNaN(time)) return ""; var hours: Number = time / 3600.0; return new String(Math.round(hours * 100) / 100); } ... and the timeFormat object is a combo box with items whose labelFunction attributes are formatTimeAsFractions and formatTimeAsInterval. The columns that have time formats have formatColumnTime as their labelFunction value, because extracting the seconds in that function and passing it in to the formatters made for a more testable app (IMHO). So, when the timeFormat.selectedItem value changes, I want to force my grid to re-calculate the labels of these colums. What method must I call on it? invalidateProperties() didn't work, so that's out.

  • Add autoFill capabilities to jQuery-UI 1.8.1

    here's what I currently have, unfortunately I cannot seem to figure out how to get autoFill to work with jQuery-UI... It used to work with the straight up Autocomplete.js <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.1/jquery-ui.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://jquery-ui.googlecode.com/svn/tags/latest/external/jquery.bgiframe-2.1.1.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.8.1/i18n/jquery-ui-i18n.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript"> var thesource = "RegionsAutoComplete.axd?PID=3" $(function () { function log(message) { $("<div/>").text(message).prependTo("#log"); $("#log").attr("scrollTop", 0); } $.expr[':'].textEquals = function (a, i, m) { return $(a).text().match("^" + m[3] + "$"); }; $("#birds").autocomplete({ source: thesource, change: function (event, ui) { //if the value of the textbox does not match a suggestion, clear its value if ($(".ui-autocomplete li:textEquals('" + $(this).val() + "')").size() == 0) { $(this).val(''); } else { log(ui.item ? ("Selected: " + ui.item.value + " aka " + ui.item.id) : "Nothing selected, input was " + this.value); } } }).live('keydown', function (e) { var keyCode = e.keyCode || e.which; //if TAB or RETURN is pressed and the text in the textbox does not match a suggestion, set the value of the textbox to the text of the first suggestion if ((keyCode == 9 || keyCode == 13) && ($(".ui-autocomplete li:textEquals('" + $(this).val() + "')").size() == 0)) { $(this).val($(".ui-autocomplete li:visible:first").text()); } }); }); </script> I've used the answer here to get the mustMatch working, but unfortunately if I "tab" away from the input box, I get the "Nothing selected" response instead of an Value and ID. Does anyone know how to extract the ID out of the autocomplete when you don't actually select the field?

  • Using AesCryptoServiceProvider in VB.NET

    - by Collegeman
    My problem is actually a bit more complicated than just how to use AES in VB.NET, since what I'm really trying to do is use AES in VB.NET from within a Java application across JACOB. But for now, what I need to focus on is the AES implementation itself. Here's my encryption code Public Function EncryptAES(ByVal toEncrypt As String, ByVal key As String) As Byte() Dim keyArray = Convert.FromBase64String(key) Dim toEncryptArray = Encoding.Unicode.GetBytes(toEncrypt) Dim aes = New AesCryptoServiceProvider aes.Key = keyArray aes.Mode = CipherMode.ECB aes.Padding = PaddingMode.ISO10126 Dim encryptor = aes.CreateEncryptor() Dim encrypted = encryptor.TransformFinalBlock(toEncryptArray, 0, toEncryptArray.Length) aes.Clear() Return encrypted End Function Once back in the Java code, I turn the byte array into a hexadecimal String. Now, to reverse the process, here's my decryption code Public Function DecryptAES(ByVal toDecrypt As String, ByVal key As String) As Byte() Dim keyArray = Convert.FromBase64String(key) Dim toDecryptArray = Convert.FromBase64String(toDecrypt) Dim aes = New AesCryptoServiceProvider aes.Key = keyArray aes.Mode = CipherMode.ECB aes.Padding = PaddingMode.ISO10126 Dim decryptor = aes.CreateDecryptor() Dim decrypted = decryptor.TransformFinalBlock(toDecryptArray, 0, toDecryptArray.Length) aes.Clear() Return decrypted End Function When I run the decryption code, I get the following error message Padding is invalid and cannot be removed.

  • dojo.io.iframe erroring when uploading a file

    - by Grant Collins
    Hi, Hit an interesting problem today when trying to upload an image file < 2MB using dojo.io.iframe. My function to process the form is called, but before the form is posted to the server I am getting the following error: TypeError: ifd.getElementsByTagName("textarea")[0] is undefined My function that is used to action the post of the form is : function uploadnewlogo(){ var logoDiv = dojo.byId('userlogo'); var logoMsg = dojo.byId('uploadmesg'); //prep the io frame to send logo data. dojo.io.iframe.send({ url: "/users/profile/changelogo/", method: "post", handleAs: "text", form: dojo.byId('logoUploadFrm'), handle: function(data,ioArgs){ var response = dojo.fromJson(data); if(response.status == 'success'){ //first clear the image //dojo.style(logoDiv, "display", "none"); logoDiv.innerHTML = ""; //then we update the image logoDiv.innerHTML = response.image; }else if(response.status == 'error'){ logoMsg.innerHTML = data.mesg; }else{ logoMsg.innerHTML = '<div class="error">Whoops! We can not process your image.</div>'; } }, error: function(data, ioArgs){ logoMsg.innerHTML = '<div class="error">' + data + '</div>'; } }); } The form is very basic with just a File input component and a simple button that calls this bit of javascript and dojo. I've got very similar code in my application that uploads word/pdf documents and that doesn't error, but for some reason this does. Any ideas or pointers on what I should try to get this to work without errors? Oh I'm using php and Zend framework for the backend if that has anything to do with it, but I doubt it as it's not even hitting the server before it fails. Many thanks, Grant

  • Can I trigger PHP garbage collection to happen automatically if I have circular references?

    - by Beau Simensen
    I seem to recall a way to setup the __destruct for a class in such a way that it would ensure that circular references would be cleaned up as soon as the outside object falls out of scope. However, the simple test I built seems to indicate that this is not behaving as I had expected/hoped. Is there a way to setup my classes in such a way that PHP would clean them up correctly when the outermost object falls out of scope? I am not looking for alternate ways to write this code, I am looking for whether or not this can be done, and if so, how? I generally try to avoid these types of circular references where possible. class Bar { private $foo; public function __construct($foo) { $this->foo = $foo; } public function __destruct() { print "[destroying bar]\n"; unset($this->foo); } } class Foo { private $bar; public function __construct() { $this->bar = new Bar($this); } public function __destruct() { print "[destroying foo]\n"; unset($this->bar); } } function testGarbageCollection() { $foo = new Foo(); } for ( $i = 0; $i < 25; $i++ ) { echo memory_get_usage() . "\n"; testGarbageCollection(); } The output looks like this: 60440 61504 62036 62564 63092 63620 [ destroying foo ] [ destroying bar ] [ destroying foo ] [ destroying bar ] [ destroying foo ] [ destroying bar ] [ destroying foo ] [ destroying bar ] [ destroying foo ] [ destroying bar ] What I had hoped for: 60440 [ destorying foo ] [ destorying bar ] 60440 [ destorying foo ] [ destorying bar ] 60440 [ destorying foo ] [ destorying bar ] 60440 [ destorying foo ] [ destorying bar ] 60440 [ destorying foo ] [ destorying bar ] 60440 [ destorying foo ] [ destorying bar ]

  • Canvas context used but not updated on canvas

    - by John Doe
    I am developing an small html5 game, where I have the following code: if(object.blocks){ var blocks = object.blocks, that = this; each(blocks,function(index){ that.blocks.push(new Block(this[index])); }); } I receive an object with some configuration and instantiate blocks with it. It works fine, but the Block class has an method, called draw: this.draw = function (ctx){ if(ctx){ var colors = ['#FF0000','#FFFF00','#0000FF','#00FF00'], color = Math.round(Math.random() * colors.length-1); ctx.fillStyle = colors[color]; ctx.fillRect(this.x,this.y,this.width,this.height); } }; It was working before I moved it into the Block class, but now it draws nothing. This is the code that calls draw: render: function(ctx){ each(this.blocks,function(index){ this[index].draw(ctx); }); } The context comes from the html page, from the main canvas.

    - by Haritz
    I am developing an application usin Symfony2 and twig for templates. I am using a 3 level structure for templates. Base.html.twig, layout.html.twig and childtemplate.html.twig. The problem is I am trying to include one example.html (common html file) in the next child template by using include but it doesnt work properly. Where can the problem be? {# src/Anotatzailea/AnotatzaileaBundle/Resources/views/Page/testuaanotatu.html.twig #} {% extends 'AnotatzaileaAnotatzaileaBundle::layout.html.twig' %} {% block title %}Testua anotatu{% endblock%} {% block body %} {% include "var/www/Symfony/web/example.html" %} {% endblock %}

  • Programming R/Sweave for proper \Sexpr output

    - by deoksu
    Hi I'm having a bit of a problem programming R for Sweave, and the #rstats twitter group often points here, so I thought I'd put this question to the SO crowd. I'm an analyst- not a programmer- so go easy on me my first post. Here's the problem: I am drafting a survey report in Sweave with R and would like to report the marginal returns in line using \Sexpr{}. For example, rather than saying: Only 14% of respondents said 'X'. I want to write the report like this: Only \Sexpr{p.mean(variable)}$\%$ of respondents said 'X'. The problem is that Sweave() converts the results of the expression in \Sexpr{} to a character string, which means that the output from expression in R and the output that appears in my document are different. For example, above I use the function 'p.mean': p.mean<- function (x) {options(digits=1) mmm<-weighted.mean(x, weight=weight, na.rm=T) print(100*mmm) } In R, the output looks like this: p.mean(variable) >14 but when I use \Sexpr{p.mean(variable)}, I get an unrounded character string (in this case: 13.5857142857143) in my document. I have tried to limit the output of my function to 'digits=1' in the global environment, in the function itself, and and in various commands. It only seems to contain what R prints, not the character transformation that is the result of the expression and which eventually prints in the LaTeX file. as.character(p.mean(variable)) >[1] 14 >[1] "13.5857142857143" Does anyone know what I can do to limit the digits printed in the LaTeX file, either by reprogramming the R function or with a setting in Sweave or \Sexpr{}? I'd greatly appreciate any help you can give. Thanks, David
