  Hi, I'm trying to understand how can I do to let my site be reachable from google image search spiders. I like how last.fm solution, and I thought to use a technique like his staff do to let google find artists images on their pages. When I'm looking for an artist and I search it on google image search, as often as not I find an image from last.fm artists page, I make an example: If I search the band Pure Reason Revolution It brings me here, the artist's image page http://www.last.fm/music/Pure+Reason+Revolution/+images/4284073 Now if I take a look to the image file, i can see it's named: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/4284073/Pure+Reason+Revolution+4.jpg so if I try to undertand how the service works I can try to say: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/ the server who serve the images 500/ the selected size for the image 4284073/ the image id for database Pure+Reason+Revolution+4.jpg the image name I thought it's difficult to think the real filename for the image is Pure+Reason+Revolution+4.jpg for image overwrite problems when an user upload it, in fact if I digit: http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/4284073.jpg I probably find the real image location and filename With this tecnique the image is highly reachable from search engines and easily archived. My question is, does exist some guide or tutorial to approach on this kind of tecniques, or something similar?

  Hi all, I am building a simple facebook iframe application. I've decided since the code is separate from facebook none the less, I will also create a connect website as well. In my connect website I'm trying to figure out the following: I am using facebook's new api and I am calling the init function. I can't seem to figure out where I combine my cross-domain file.   Hi, I keep receiving this error in my ASP.NET web app (below). I give the Network Service account rights to the specified folder, it runs fine for a while, but then within a day or two the error reoccurs, as the Network Service account has been removed from the rights for the folder. Adding it again fixes it, but why does it keep reocurring? Could it be anything to do with using Interop components (such as WMI)? Here's the full error: Server Error in '/DriveMonitor' Application. • How to handle management trying to interfere with the project (including architecture decision)

  I feel this is not a very good question to post on SO, but I need some advice from experienced developers... (I'm a second year developer) I guess this is a problem to many, many projects, but in our case, it is getting intense. There were so much interference from people that don't know a bit about software development, that our development came to an almost complete stop. We had to literary escape to another location to get any useful job done. Now we were happily producing results, but then I get a request for a "meeting" and it's them again. I have a friendly relationship with them, but I feel very daunted at the thought of talking about non-sense all over again. Should I be firm and tell them to shut up and wait for our results? Or should I be diplomatic and create an illusion they are making a positive contribution or something?? My current urge is to be unfriendly and murmur some stuff so they will give up or something. What would you do if you were in this situation?

  What is the best way to replace the currently selected tab and its contents? The content is dynamically generated with jquery, not loaded via a URL. I need to do this from outside of any tab code or tab event handler (show, add, etc.). There is a link elsewhere on the page that should do the following when clicked: Change the tab's title Change the tab's className Clear out all elements of the tabcontent div Change the tabcontent div's className Generate new content inside the tabcontent div Note that the only reference this link's click() handler has is to the JQuery tabs object ($Tabs). I can get the selected tab with $Tabs.tabs('option','selected'). But how can I get a reference to the selected tab's tab and panel? Inside of a jquery tab handler (show, add, etc.), I have access to ui.tab and ui.panel, but is there a way to get them from a tabs option? Would it be better to simply remove the currently selected tab and then add a new tab in the same index location? I'd have to put the code to generate the tab content into the add() handler then I suppose.

• jndi binding on jboss4.2.3 and ejb3

  I am trying to deploy a stateless ejb on jboss 4.2.3 using ejb3 annotations. Everything builds and deploys correctly, and I do not get any errors when jboss starts up. However the ejb is not getting bound to any JNDI location for lookup when I look at the bindings in jboss. Below is what I have for my ejb. Remote @Remote public interface TestWebService { public String TestWebMethod(String param1, String param2); } Stateless EJB @Stateless @RemoteBinding(jndiBinding="TestWeb") @Remote(TestWebService.class) public class TestWebServiceBean implements TestWebService{ public String TestWebMethod(String param1, String param2) { System.out.println("HELLO "+param1+" "+param2); return "Welcome!!"; } } I have tried not having the @Remote and @RemoteBinding and it doesn't make a difference. I have also added and ejb-jar.xml file (which should not be needed with ejb3) and that does not appear to make a difference. • Catch a thread's exception in the caller thread in Python

  Hi Everyone, I'm very new to Python and multithreaded programming in general. Basically, I have a script that will copy files to another location. I would like this to be placed in another thread so I can output "...." to indicate that the script is still running. The problem that I am having is that if the files cannot be copied it will throw an exception. This is ok if running in the main thread; however, having the following code does not work: try: threadClass = TheThread(param1, param2, etc.) threadClass.start() ##### **Exception takes place here** except: print "Caught an exception" In the thread class itself, I tried to re-throw the exception, but it does not work. I have seen people on here ask similar questions, but they all seem to be doing something more specific than what I am trying to do (and I don't quite understand the solutions offered). I have seen people mention the usage of sys.exc_info(), however I do not know where or how to use it. All help is greatly appreciated! I want to somehow incorporate Javascript with a simple onclick confirmation. This way if they choose OK, I can run the code to delete the item from the database, but if they choose Cancel then I can cancel the operation and do nothing. I have tried a whole variety of functions with changing the window.location to the delete file, and trying to cancel the href= if they choose Cancel, but it always goes to the link regardless of what the user clicks. I would like to be able to keep the delete functions inside the same PHP file if possible, but this is not necessary at all. Thanks in advance! ASIDE: If there is a simple PHP way to check IF the alert was confirmed or denied, that could work also. Any way to check what the user chooses and then run my simple delete PHP command.

It really needs to be able to download these DLL files to the application folder in "C:\Program Files\". In the past I have used System.Net.WebClient to download whatever files I wanted from the web. The Issue I have had a lot of trouble downloading data in the past and saving to files on a user's hard drive. I get many reports of users saying that this does not work and it is generally because of user rights issues in the program. In the cases where it was an issue with program user rights every user could go to the exact file location on the web, download it, and then save it to the right place manually. I want this to work like all the other programs I have seen download/install in this fassion (i.e. Firefox Pluign Updates, Flash Player, JAVA, Adobe Reader, etc). All of these work without a hitch. The Question Is there some code I need to use to give my downloader program special rights to the Program Files folder? Can I even do this? Is there a better class or library that I should use? Is there a different approach to downloading files I should take, such as using threads or something else to download data? Any help here is appreciated. I want to try to stay away from third-party apps/libraries if at all possible, other than Microsoft of course, due to licensing issues, but still send any suggestions my way. Again, other programs seem to have the rights issues and download capability figured out. I want this same capability.

  We have a system build on lots of languages. The ones we are interested in logging, in order of priority, are: C/C++ PHP C# Bash Java Wish list: If it is possible, we would like logging to be achieved from the above languages in such a way that we may use a single log viewing tool for all of them. Ideally they would be in the same format, but next to that in as few formats as possible and readable from as many log file viewers as possible. If it is possible logging to a single log file or a set of log files would be nice. With a possibility to filter based on the source language that is being logged. We would like to copy the log files (or should be log to a database and copy it instead?) from multiple servers to a single location. So that we can analyze the log files from many servers at the same time (to see if any of our servers execute a certain piece legacy code for example). Being able to change logging level at runtime would be nice. Thank you for reading! It's quite a complex problem, I hope someone has wrestled with it before and has some valuable information!
