  • ASP.NET Where can I write to without modifying permissions?

    Where can I write to without modifying site permissions? I need to store a value on the server that will remain when all sessions have closed and can be re-read when a new session is started. I need to make sure that no site permissions need to be changed so the location can be written to by anonymous users and any authenticated user. Does such a place exist? Thanks Lee

  • Error when deploying WAR file

    Hi, I have a war file and when deploying it thro the admin console in websphere i am getting the following error after specifying the war file location and the context-root. The EAR file might be corrupt or incomplete. org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.commonarchivecore.internal.exception.DeploymentDescriptorLoadException: WEB-INF/web.xml Any suggesstions to resolve this issue? I also unpacked the war file and checked that the web.xml file is present in the web-inf folder. Cheers, Deena

    I am using Geonames for loading the cities using JSON. Geonames data i imported into my database. I am using MS SQL 2008 Server. I display a dropdown for country select. Once the user select the country. I am loading all the cities into the autocomplete textbox. I am facing a delay in the getJSON method. Also it seems like executing asynchronous. So before getting all the data my autocompelte is getting filled. Below is my complete script. I think i have some problem in the loop.     my code is written from http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1171433/jquery-xml-and-google-map Now all marker icons can be displayed at current google map. But now I want to add some function. When getting description of item (it will map to opposite icon) ,if user click this description, a hint will display near the map icon at google. I still can't how to start.I can get lat and lng of location. PS:some of markers will map to same point.

  • Turning off ASP.Net WebForms authentication for one sub-directory

    I have a large enterprise application containing both WebForms and MVC pages. It has existing authentication and authorisation settings that I don't want to change. The WebForms authentication is configured in the web.config: <authentication mode="Forms"> <forms blah... blah... blah /> </authentication> <authorization> <deny users="?" /> </authorization> Fairly standard so far. I have a REST service that is part of this big application and I want to use HTTP authentication instead for this one service. So, when a user attempts to get JSON data from the REST service it returns an HTTP 401 status and a WWW-Authenticate header. If they respond with a correctly formed HTTP Authorization response it lets them in. The problem is that WebForms overrides this at a low level - if you return 401 (Unauthorised) it overrides that with a 302 (redirection to login page). That's fine in the browser but useless for a REST service. I want to turn off the authentication setting in the web.config: <location path="rest"> <system.web> <authentication mode="None" /> <authorization><allow users="?" /></authorization> </system.web> </location> The authorisation bit works fine, but when I try to change the authentication I get an exception: It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. I'm configuring this at application level though - it's in the root web.config How do I override the authentication so that all of the rest of the site uses WebForms authentication and this one directory uses none? This is similar to another question: 401 response code for json requests with ASP.NET MVC, but I'm not looking for the same solution - I don't want to just remove the WebForms authentication and add new custom code globally, there's far to much risk and work involved. I want to change just the one directory in configuration.

    Users will get to my site using a specific parameter, e.g. : http://www.mysite.com/whatever/?keepTrackOfThisValue=foo or http://www.mysite.com/who/cares/?keepTrackOfThisValue=bar I would like to store the value of this peculiar parameter in Session everytime I found it in the QueryString. I'm currently using the Session_Start event in Global.asax in order to store this but I would like to override the value each time the parameter value change, which is not possible my way. Where would you do this ?

    I'm going to index a BDB with keys that look a lot like directory paths ('/foo/bar', '/foo/baz', etc, with levels of slashes generally < 10). Does anybody have any experience with using a Btree prefix comparison routine[1] for this? Are the savings worthwhile? Any references to experience papers on this subject? This parameter indicate to my jar wich property file to use in order to setup some configuration. Then the script will zip the results produced by the jar and send them to a location.     I have an NSTextField that I would like to enable "as-you-type" spell checking. When I load my application I can do this from the Menu Bar Edit Spelling and Grammar Check Spelling While Typing. I would like this option to be enabled by default. Within IB I can enable this for a NSTextView but I would like to use NSTextField for this part of the UI. Thank you.

  • Is it possible to avoid Focus on SplitContainer?

    The WinForm SplitContainer gets the focus when it's dragged or clicked, while the Splitter does not. The side-effect of this, is that dragging a SplitContainer bar fires Leave/Validate on other controls, and I need to avoid this. I already tried setting TabStop and CausesValidation to False, but with no success. Is there a way to stop the SplitContainer from getting focused? (not a big deal, I can still use the old Splitter, but I lose some nice VS properties...)

    I am receiving the error noted below. I have built/rebuilt the files sevaral time. I have alson renamed the file the file in the *.exe The NetworkAssociation.exe file is in the debug folder. Any help would be wonderful Visual Studio cannot start debugging because the debub target 'c:\NetworkAssociation\NetworkAssociation\Bin\Debug\NetworkAssociation.exe' is missing. Please build the project and retry, or set the OutputPath and AssemblyName properties appropriately to point at the correct location.

    using the delcarative_authorization gem for rails, is there a shortcut to allow a role access to all controller actions? privileges do # default privilege hierarchies to facilitate RESTful Rails apps privilege :manage, :includes => [:create, :read, :update, :delete] end isn't sufficient, because I have more controlling methods than just CRUD in my controllers. Something like: role :foo do has_permission_on :bar, :to =>[:all] end would be perfect, but I'm not finding it in the docs.
