  I am using php chartdirector to generate some charts for my PHP page. We can add tool tip to the chart by setting the title attribute # Create an image map for the chart $imageMap = $c->getHTMLImageMap("clickline.php", "", "title='{xLabel}: US\$ {value|0}M'"); How would add a html tag to the title, like "title='{xLabel} <br/> Click to view more details'" When I do the above the tag <br/> gets displayed as such without the html rendering. • django objects.all() method issue

• Entity framework error: The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data

  I know there are a ton of posts about this issue but none of them seem to solve my problem. Here's the scenario: I have a CreateDate DateTime column in my MS SQL Server database User table that is non-nullable and is automatically set using GetDate() method in "Default Value or Binding" setting. I am able to create a User just fine with the standard EF Insert but when I try to update the user, I get this error: The conversion of a datetime2 data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value. What is the trick to not having the EF worry about the CreateDate column for updates? I have the StoreGenerationPattern = Identity but that isn't helping. • Does Resharper 4.1 support both Camel Humps and normal selection modes?

  I've found the setting for Camel Humps in resharper: Resharper - Options - Editor - Use CamelHumps The problem is that I would still like to be able to use the normal selection mode (i.e. the default behaviour for CTRL+Arrow and CTRL+SHIFT+Arrow) as well as the CamelHumps mode. For example consider this variable: private int MyVeryLongCamelCaseName; Now if I want to copy the entire variable then I want the VS default behaviour for CTRL+SHIFT+Left-Arrow which is to select the entire variable if the cursor is on the M. However if I want to change the name to say MyExtremelyLongCamelCaseName then I would like the CamelHumps behaviour provided by Resharper. Is there any way to have both behaviours with different shortcuts?

• Flowplayer: Clicking on the player forces is to reload.

  Hey everyone, I've got this damn annoying bug (or wrong setting) that makes the player reload whenever it's clicked. It's set to play when you click, so when you click it, it reloads. The circle begins.... The reloading only happens in Firefox. In Safari (and I assume Chrome), the video opens in its own window. Not ideal, but it still plays. • .NET Lambda Pass Method Parameter

  Hi All, I hope i'm missing something obvious, but I'm having some troubles defining a method that takes a parameter of a method to fetch the method information for the passed method. I do NOT want actually execute the method. I want to be able to do: busObject.SetResolverMethod<ISomeInterface>(x=>x.GetNameById); Where GetNameById is a method defined on the interface ISomeInterface. In this case, an example of the method being passed in's signature would be: MyVarA GetNameById(int id){ .... } In the above example, the SetResolverMethod's body should be able to return / store the string "GetNameById". There is no standard signature the method being passed in will conform to (except that it will always return an object of some kind). Currently I'm setting the method as a string (i.e. "GetNameById"), but I want it to be compile time checked, hence this question.

• Is it possible to drag windows between workspaces when using Compiz?

  When I used Metacity, I could drag windows between workspaces using the small icon view of my workspaces. I recently started using Compiz for all the cool desktop effects, however this drag and drop feature isn't working. I use the cube effect for switching workspaces, but I noticed the wall effect doesn't allow it either. Is this just a missing feature from Compiz or is there a setting somewhere that I can enable it? I know that I can enable dragging windows across edges to the next workspace, and the expose feature to drag windows between workspaces. However, the drag and drop on the icon view is really powerful, and I would love to have it back along with all the great Compiz special effects.

• Remove registry key during uninstall

  Hello there. I have a simple C# application that allows users to specify that it should be (or should not be) started with Windows; it does so by setting (or deleting) a registry key (namely, ...\Software\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Run\MyApplicationHere). I am using a VS setup project to create the installer for this program. I don't want the installer to create this key; it should only be created when the user selects the option from within the program. Here is the issue: I would like the uninstaller to delete this key if it exists, preferably without resorting to any sort of hackery; if there is a simple "built-in" solution I would love to hear it. • DDMS Not Showing Threads From Device

  I'd like to check for memory leaks in my Android app using the DDMS feature in Eclipse. When I launch an emulated device, the threads display properly for the emulated device, starting with 8600 and up. However, when I connect my Droid to the PC, the device shows up just fine in DDMS. The logcat is generated correctly, and I can view the file structure. However, threads do not display. I get "no client selected" in the Threads pane, and there is no drop-down icon next to the device listing. Do I need to change some particular setting in Eclipse? Is this maybe a driver issue?

• UIView transparency shows how the sausages are made!

  I have a UIView container that has two UIImageViews inside it, one partially obscuring the other (they're being composed like this to allow for occasional animation of one "layer" or another. Sometimes I want to make this container 50% alpha, so what the users sees fades. Here's the problem: setting my container view to 50% alpha makes all my subviews inherit this as well, and now you can see through the first subview into the second, which in my application has a weird X-Ray effect that I'm not looking for. What I'm after, of course, is for what the user currently sees to become 50% transparent-- the equivalent of flattening the visible view into one bitmap, and then making that 50% alpha. What are my best bets for accomplishing this? Ideally would like to avoid actually, dynamically flattening the views if I can help it, but best practices on that welcome as well. Am I missing something obvious? Since most views have subviews and would run into this issue, I feel like there's some obvious solution here. Thanks!

The only way is to truncate (substring())the "tblJobAnnouncement.JobClassDesc" in the query which has column size of around 8000. Do we have any work around so that i need not truncate the values. Or Can this query be optimised? Any setting in SQL Server 2000?

• Trying to verify understanding of foreign keys SQL Server

  So I'm working on just a learning project to expose myself to doing some things I do not get to do at work. I'm just making a simple bug and case tracking app (I know there are a million this is just to work with some tools I don't get to). So I was designing my database and realized I've never actually used Foreign Keys before in any of my projects, I've used them before but never actually setting up a column as a FK. So I've designed my database as follows, which I think is close to correct (at least for the initial layout). However When I try to add the FK's to the linking Tables I get an error saying, "The tables present in the relationship must have the same number of columns". I'm doing this by in SQLSMS by going to the Keys 'folder' and adding a FK. Is there something that I am doing wrong here, I don't understand why the tables would have to have the same number of columns for me to add a FK relationship between the tables?

• Use SharePoint Search to crawl Project Server project metadata?

  Our environment consists of Project Server 2007 and MOSS 2007. We have around 750 projects and lots of "Enterprise Custom Fields" set up to track all of the metadata associated with a project. Our main requirement is to be able to search/filter/group/sort all of these projects by metadata in SharePoint. Our current process involves syncing this custom metadata into a SharePoint list (which requires a LOT of maintenance). Question: Is it possible to leverage SharePoint search to crawl/index these metadata fields in Project Server? How would I go about setting this up?

• My presentation layer does not match my model layer even though I have no animations

  On iPhone I have a CALayer that I animate via Core Animation. Then at some point I change view controllers. I then return to the view controller with the CALayer and in viewWillAppear: I set the frame and position properties on my layer to move it back to its starting point. Setting these properties changes the model layer but the presentation layer still has the old values and its presentation layer does not update until the next animation I play. In the CA Programming guide it says "You can query an instance of CALayer for its corresponding presentation layer while an animation transaction is in process." Which, to me, implies that the presentation layer should only be different from the model layer during an animation. But there are no animations currently running. I even used kCATransactionDisableActions to ensure that when I set the position property an implicit animation is not started. Does anyone know why my presentation and model layers are out of sync? • MySQL configuration that allows for locking many tables?

  I need to do a MySQLDump on a DB with ~700 tables and when I try with my current configuration, I get an error: mysqldump: Got error: 1016: Can't open file: './my_db/content_node_field_instance.frm' (errno: 24) when using LOCK TABLES Searching around I've found that this happens because it tries to lock all tables and fails because they are "too many". I know I can try lock-tables=no and get a dump, but this way my DB might be in an inconsistent state. So, does anyone know what is the MySQL configuration setting I need to change in order to be able to do the locking I need? I'm running 5.1.37-1ubuntu5.1 with MyISAM. Thanks!

• How do you redeploy javascript in Idea when using a Tomcat configuration

  I'm working on a java/javascript webapp that runs on tomcat. We're working with IDEA and I've managed to get debugging set up for both the client and server code at the same time, which is great. I did have hot redeployment of the javascript set up when running Tomcat manually, however I find when running Tomcat through IDEA this doesnt work as it's setting stuff up somewhere in my users folder. I was going to just set up a deployment configuration to go to that folder but I can't see any of the javascript files in there. Is it possible to get the best of both worlds and have debugging and automatic deployment working together?

• Joomla 1.5 Media Manager sets incorrect file permissions when uploading

  Howdy all, I have a Joomla 1.5 installation running on Windows Server 2008, installed via the Web Platform Installer. When uploading images with the media manager (native uploader, not the flash bulk uploader), the files arrive on the server correctly, but are given incorrect permissions. Specifically, the IIS_IUSRS group is not given access to the file. I might be incorrect about what group/user is SUPPOSED to get access to the files, but so far, I've found that unless I give IIS_IUSRS access to the uploaded files, they won't appear on the site or in the media manager (appear as broken images). Once I give IIS_IUSRS permission to the files, they work fine. So far, all the research I've done has led me to linux specific fixes that involve either changing the umask on the server, or directly modifying the Joomla codebase to add an appropriate chmod command to the upload process, but I really don't want to modify Joomla directly. I have to believe there's a setting here somewhere that will do the job, either on the Joomla or Windows side of the equation. Any thoughts? Scott

  I'm using Dynamic Data and LINQ to SQL for some admin pages on a .NET 3.5 web app. All my admin tables a CreatedBy, CreatedDate, UpdatedBy, and UpdatedDate. I'm looking for a way to inject the setting of these properties before the objects are inserted and updated. I've seen an object_inserting hook if you have a linq to sql datasource in the web form, but I'm using dynamic data...is there an easy way to generically set that? And I've also looked at modifying each of the partial classes for my admin objects, but the closest hook I see is to implement the OnValidate method with the Insert action. Any suggestions? TIA.

• Xerces SAX parser ignore the xmlxs:xsi attribute as an attribute of an element

  Hi, Using Xerces SAX parser I try to retrieve all elements and their attributes of this XML file: -------------- Begin XML file to parse ---------------- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <invoice xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="my.xsd"> <parties> (...) -------------- End XML file to parse ---------------- When getting the attributes for the element 'invoice', Xerces++ does not insert the 'xmlns:xsi' attribute in the list of 'Attributes' for the element 'invoice'. However, the attribute 'xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation' is inserted in the list. Why? Is there a specific reason from an XML standard point of view ? Is there a way to configure Xerces++ SAX parser so that it inserts this attribute as well? (The documentation on setting the parser properties does not tell how). Thanks for your help.

• Can I develop for .NET Framework 4 in Visual Studio 2008?

  My ASP.NET application runs in IIS on my web server and uses Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Beta 2. (Its Application Pool is set to .NET Framework version .NET Framework v4.0.21006.) It gives this new error: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client... This is due to a breaking change in .NET 4. To revert to the behavior of the ASP.NET 2.0 request validation feature, I added the following setting in the Web.config file: <httpRuntime requestValidationMode="2.0" /> Now Visual Studio 2008 throws a compile-time error: The 'requestValidationMode' attribute is not declared. And I can no longer debug on my development machine using the ASP.NET Development Server that comes with Visual Studio. I need Visual Studio and its ASP.NET Development Server to recognize the new .NET Framework 4 requestValidationMode attribute. How can I debug my application in .NET 4? Must I switch from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2?

• Flash security popup is unclickable on a layered window

  I have a layered (TransparencyKey is set) winform w/ a WebBrowser control on it that navigates to a page that contains flash (swf). Everything works okay except that when flash shows a security popup, none of the buttons on the popup respond to mouse click, so I can't click Allow/Deny. Right-click works but only shows the context menu that is normal to flash. I tried overriding WndProc on the WebBrowser control, as suggested here, but it still does not respond to mouse click. If I comment out the TransparencyKey setting, even w/o the WndProc override, the buttons respond. I thought this'd be a container issue so I decided to host the swf file on the form, using the example here, but this, too, had the same problem w/ layered window. So, is there another way that can get around this problem? What is it w/ layered window that renders the buttons on the flash popup unclickable? What is it w/ flash...?

My network administrator wants that this information is stored in some LDAP server so that he maintain single store of configuration which he himself can use in other apps/scripts etc. I am looking for some article that walks me through setting up ADAM/AD LDS for storing configuration by authoring custom schema etc and how to setup some authentication infrastructure to protect the data.
