  • Where do I find a list of changes and bug fixes for .Net classes from 3.5 -> 4.0?

    I'm having trouble finding a list of the changes and bug fixes that have been made in the .Net framework for .Net 4.0. They're not easy to find, but surely they exist somewhere? Specifically I want to find out what changes and updates have been made for System.Net.HttpWebRequest and System.Net.CookieContainer, as both are quite bugridden in 3.5 and I want to evaluate whether I should write my code for .Net 4.0 or if I should create some custom classes to work around their issues.

    I am getting the following error while sending mail by click of a button in MS access form I am using sendObject to send mail using vba code. The host 'smtp' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'pop3', Server: 'smtp', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D Points to note: I am able to send and receive mails in my outlook; Problem is only when send mails through VBA access application.(Means it is not a outlook client configuration problem) When i copy paste the Vba application to another PC, i could successfully send emails without any error. (means this is not a vba access application problem) Please help.

    I am currently learning to create custom controls in WPF. I successfully created a simple custom control using a Label and a Text Box. I was able to allow setting the Label text by DependencyProperty. Now I am creating a user control that has a ComboBox. I need to allow adding items to this ComboBox from outside the control. To achieve this, I tried exposing a DependencyProperty of type ItemsCollection and it will allows access to the ComboBox's Items property (the DP in my control sample is named 'CbItems'). But I get errors because Items property of Combobox is ReadOnly.     I would like to control which methods appear when a user uses tab-completion on a custom object in ipython - in particular, I want to hide functions that I have deprecated. I still want these methods to be callable, but I don't want users to see them and start using them if they are inspecting the object. Is this something that is possible?

  • UISearchbar clearButton forces the keyboard to appear

    I have a UISearchBar which acts as a live filter for a table view. When the keyboard is dismissed via endEditing:, the query text and the gray circular "clear" button remain. From here, if I tap the gray "clear" button the keyboard reappears as the text is cleared. How do I prevent this? If the keyboard is not currently open I want that button to clear the text without reopening the keyboard. There is a protocol method that gets called when I tap the clear button. But sending the UISearchBar a resignFirstResponder message doesn't have any effect on the keyboard.

Is there a way to zip the build output after the code is signed, within the Xcode build process. I can certainly do it externally if i need to, but I'd like to make it part of my Xcode build script.

  • Track results of a regular expression extractor in JMeter

    Our server returns a custom 'X-Execution-Time' HTTP response header that returns in miliseconds the time between the server getting a request and our code returning a page, ie how long our code takes to run. I'm using JMeter to do some testing & I'd like to be able to report on this number of over time. I've setup this regular expression extractor: X-Execution-Time:\s(\d+) but I don't know how to get JMeter to report on this number per request so i can get a trend over time

  • Can I get Raid disk status by using PS?

    I have a HP server with Raid 5. Port 0 and 1 are used for data & OS mirroring. The software come with the Raid 5 is Intel Matrix Storage Manager and there is manager console as windows based api to view all the ports, including their status. Now they are all in Normal status. I am not sure if the OS/Windows has some APIs or .Net classes to access raid ports and get their status? If so, how can I use PS to get the information? Do I have to reference to the dlls provided by the Intel Matrix Storage Manager if not? Basically, I would like to write a PS script to get read status. In case any of port disk is not normal, a message will be sent out by growl protocol.

    I have a complex project using SilverLight Toolkit's ListBoxDragDropTarget for drag-drop operations and it is maxing CPU. I tried to reproduce the issue in a small sample project, but then it works fine. The problem persists when I remove our custom styles and all other controls from the page, but the page is hosted in another page's ScrollView. "EnableRedrawRegions" shows that the screen gets redrawn on every frame. My question is this: How can I track down the cause of this constant redrawing?

    Hey, I don't know much about SEO and how web spiders work, so forgive my ignorance here. I'm creating a site (using ASP.NET-MVC) which has areas that displays information retrieved from the database. The data is unique to the user, so there's no real server-side output caching going on. However, since the data can contain things the user may not wish to have displayed from search engine results, I'd like to prevent any spiders from accessing the search results page. Are there any special actions I should take to ensure that the search result directory isn't crawled? Also, would a spider even crawl a page that's dynamically generated and would any actions preventing certain directories being search mess up my search engine rankings? edit: I should add, I'm reading up on robots.txt protocol, but it relies on co-operation from the web crawler. However, I'd also like to prevent any data-mining users who will ignore the robots.txt file. I appreciate any help!

  • Gray border when using NSBorderlessWindowMask

    Hello, Whenever I try to create a custom window using NSBorderlessWindowMask and set an NSView (for example an NSImageView) as its contentView, I get a 1px gray border around the NSView and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it. I have followed several approaches including Apple's RoundTransparentWindow sample code as well as several suggestions on StackOverflow. I suspect the gray border is either coming from the window itself or the NSView. Have any of you experienced this problem or do you have a possible solution? Thanks

    HI all, I'm developing a software to control light show ( through DMX protocol ), i use C# and wpf to develop my main software (.net 4.0) To help people preview their show, i would like to make a live 3D visualizer... First, i thought that i could use wpf 3D to make the visualizer, but i need to work with light .. My main application should send property ( beam angle, orientation (X,Y), position(X,Y), Brush ( color,shape,effect)) to the 3D visualizer But i would like to be able to move light (position in the scene) by mouse during execution and had value in return... So .. Does XNA is the easiest way to doing that ? Can you help me for that : Generating light (orientation , bitmap like filter in front of light ) Dynamically moving object with mouse and get position in return Dynamically add or remove fixture All of your advice, sample, example are very welcome ... The send operation is just a push on the outbox. The receive operation is just a pop on the inbox. Underlying protocol would take care of the communication details. Is there a way to implement such mechanism using a single TCP connection? How would that be implemented using BSD sockets and modern OO Socket APIs (like Java or C# socket API)?
