    I would like to have a custom ListView, where each row contains an EditText field, that may be edited by the user. But when I click on one of the EditTexts I loose the focus, and can't type text there (I suppose because the other raws are redrawed and get the focus). What can I do?

    Hello everyone, I am writing a piece of software in C++ RAD studio 2010 and got a question about TreeView. Is it possible to use multicolor text in a TTreeView component? I could not find a easy way but to implement custom drawing which seems to be weird nowadays. Are there any straight-forward ways or maybe additional components that can do it for me?

    Hi everyone! My first question on stackoverflow! I'm using a UISlider in my app but I'd like to use a custom "look-and-feel" for it. I have changed the thumb to my own image but is there a way to change the bar also? I have a bar image I would like to use but can't see how to do this. I have found how to change the max and min image but not the bar itself. Thanks Oliver

  • #validate does not seem to work correctly with :on => :create/:update

    Greetings, I have a custom validation in my exemplary Movie model: class Movie < ActiveRecord::Base validate :it, :on => :create private def it self.errors.add 'foo', 'bar' end end This works on movie creation but also on updating an existing movie. :on => :update will also work for both.     I use the classpath attribute in custom Ant tasks to tell Ant where to find the external task jar, but how do I do the same for built-in tasks? In my case I'd like to make sure ant uses my copy of jsch.jar for the scp task, and not one that my already be installed on the system. Is there any way I can <scp> while guaranteeing it's using my jsch.jar?

    I'm designing an application which will have a network interface for feeding out large numbers of very small metadata requests. The application code itself is very fast, basically looking up data cached in memory and sending it to the client. What's the absolute lowest latency I can get for a network application server running on a linux box? This will be an internal app running on gigE with no authentication. Any language/framework considered, with a preference for C, C++, or Python. Likewise for protocol, although HTTP would be nice.

    All, How can we debug a Eclipse plug-in based on GEF? Currently, I have a Activator class and custom editor from Example . Yet I am not able to find any output for the plugin. I tried using the "Launch Eclipse in Debug Mode" and setting a breakpoint in the Activator constructor method, but do not find any debugging activities taking place. Can anyone please guide on how to go about with debugging?

We are using custom GUI text i/o components inherited from Component class using e.g. Drawstring, how well is arabic supported within Component class ? The keyboard input is done with KeyListener getKeyChar, getKeyCode etc.

  • Is this a situation where Qt Model/View architecture is not useful?

    Hi, I am writing a GUI based application where I read a string of values from serial port every few seconds and I need to display most of the values in some type graphical indicator(I was thinking of QprogressBar maybe) that displays the range and the value. Some of the other data that I am parsing from the string are the date and fault codes. Also, the data is hierarchical. I wanted to use the model/view architecture of Qt because I have been interested in MVC stuff for a while but have never quite wrapped my brain around how to implement it very well. As of now, I have subclassed QAbstractItemModel and in the model I read the serial port and wrap the items parsed from the string in a Tree data structure. I can view all of the data in a QtreeView with no issues. I have also began to subclass QAbstractItemView to build my custom view with all of the Graphical Indicators and such. This is where I am getting stuck. It seems to me that in order for me to design a view that knows how to display my custom model the view needs to know exactly how all of the data in the model is organized. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of Model/View? The QTreeView I tested the model with is basically just displaying the model as it is setup in the Tree structure but I don't want to do that because the data is not all of the same type. Is the type of data or the way you would like to present it to the user a determining factor in whether or not you should use this architecture? I always assumed it was just always better to design in an MVC style. It seems to me like it might have been better to just subclass QWidget and then read in from the serial port and update all of subwidgets(graphical indicators, labels, etc...) from the subclass. Essentially, do everything in one class. Does anybody understand this issue that can explain to me either what I am missing or why I shouldn't be doing it this way. As of now I am a little confused.     I have a cherrypy app that I'm controlling over http with a wxpython ui. I want to kill the server when the ui closes, but I don't know how to do that. To set the actual data I use the following method: override public function set data(side:Object):void{ ... } As soon as I use this function the cell doesn't show up any item Editor anymore.     Hi, in actionscript 3, what's the fastest way to dump your data (not from a file) into a bitmap for display? I have it working with setPixels and colored rects but that's way too slow/inefficient. Is there a way to load in the raw bytes or hijack the loader class to put in custom loader data? What would be the best/fastest--should I start writing a byte encoder?

    I'm trying to seamlessly integrate some legacy data into a django application. I would like to know if it's possible to use an alternate datasource for a django model. For example, can I contact a server to populate a list of a model? The server would not be SQL based at all. Instead it uses some proprietary tcp based protocol. Copying the data is not an option, as the legacy application will continue to be used for some time. Would a custom manager allow me to do this? This model should behave just like any other django model. It should even pluggable to the admin interface. What do you think? Thanks, Pete

His clients need access to some web applications through login and password and need to be authenticated . i thought about creating a custom asp.net membership provider that hits exchange instead of the regular aspnetdb store.     In C#,I'm using LumiSoft.Net.IMAP.Client library to connect to the imap server and I'm viewing my emails through that class library... I used it for more than 5 months. Now, when I tried to authenticate, it shows the following exception (even though the server is connected..)
