  • Same Activity called twice... Issue with Multiple AsyncTasks?

    - by stormin986
    I have three simultaneous instances of an AsyncTask for download three files. When two particular ones finish, at the end of onPostExecute() I check a flag set by each, and if both are true, I call startActivity() for the next Activity. I am currently seeing the activity called twice, or something that resembles this type of behavior. Since the screen does that 'swipe left' kind of transition to the next activity, it sometimes does it twice (and when I hit back, it goes back to the same activity). It's obvious two versions of the activity that SHOULD only get called once are being put on the Activity stack. Could this be from both onPostExecute()s executing simultaneously and both checking the flags each other set at the exact same time? This seems extremely unlikely since two processes would have to be running line-by-line in parallel... *EDIT* A lot removed from this question since I was way off in what I thought was wrong. Nonetheless I found the answer here quite useful, so I have edited the question to reflect the useful parts.

  • Expected Class-name before { token

    - by ML
    Hi All, I am trying to figure out whey I get an error: expected class-name before { token Here is the relative source to the error: #pragma once #ifndef H_FXACTION #define H_FXACTION #include "CP_M_RefCounted.h" #include "FxTypes.h" #include "string" #include "FxString.h" #include "FxPixels.h" #include "CP_Rect.h" #include "FxStreamable.h" #include "FxPoint.h" #include "FxPtr.h" #include "FxImage.h" #include "FxSleekStreaming.h" typedef FxID FxActionType; typedef FxUInt32 FxActionID; FxActionID FrMakeUniqueActionID(void); class FxActionData; class FxActionData : public CP_M_RefCounted { public: FxActionData(); FxActionData(FxBool final) :mFinal(final) { } virtual ~FxActionData(); I get the error at this line: class FxActionData : public CP_M_RefCounted What I dont get is why the line: class FxActionData; is there when you are creating the class directly under it. Isn't this a forward declaration? What things could be going on here?

  • Question about pipe in Perl

    - by Uri
    The following code is working sort of fine: open( PIPE, '-|', 'ant' ); for( <PIPE> ) { print; } However, it doesn't do what I want. Since the Ant build can take 5 minutes, I would like to see the output line by line. Instead, I'm getting the entire input at the end of the process. Looking at it with the Perl debugger, Perl waits at the 'for' statement, until Ant terminates. Why is that?

  • IEnumerable not null but calling Count() results in Exception

    - by Draak
    I have code that's working beautifully on my development machine, but when deployed to the server is throwing null reference exception. So, I can't step through the code, but I've pinned down the culprit. But now I am puzzled. Here's the code. The question is below. Dim certs = From p In persons _ Select New Certificate( _ p.Value, _ New CertificateData.Seminar(thisEvent.Seminar.Name, _ thisEvent.StartDate.Value, _ thisEvent.EndDate.Value, _ thisEvent.Venue.City, _ thisEvent.Venue.State, _ New CertificateData.Instructor( _ staffMember.Name, _ staffMember.Titles, _ instrSignatPath))) _ With {.CertificateId = p.Key} lblMessage.Text = CStr(certs Is Nothing) lblMessage.Text = lblMessage.Text + "<br />" + CStr(certs.Count()) In the code above persons is a dictionary of custom class, and certs is of IEnumerable type. Now here's the quandary.. The first line that sets the label returns False, so certs is not null. But the second line throws an null reference exception. How is this possible?

  • Result of expression 'xxxx' is not a constructor in JS

    - by Pselus
    Trying to create an object in Javascript (for Appcelerator/Titanium). The "object" is defined like this: function server () { this.cacheimages = 0; this.login = ""; this.name = ""; this.root = ""; this.signup = ""; this.useimages = 0; this.userexists = ""; this.isdefault = 0; return this; } In the same file, in another function when I run this line: var server = new server(); I get the error Result of expression 'server' is not a constructor. I have tried it with and without the "return" line, neither work. What am I doing wrong?

  • Where would I use a bitwise operator in JavaScript?

    - by J-P
    I've read this (http://stackoverflow.com/quest...), so I know what bitwise operators are but I'm still not clear on how one might use them... Can anyone offer any real-world examples of where a bitwise operator would be useful in JavaScript? Thanks. Edit: Just digging into the jQuery source I've found a couple of places where bitwise operators are used, for example: (only the & operator) // Line 2756: event.which = (event.button & 1 ? 1 : ( event.button & 2 ? 3 : ( event.button & 4 ? 2 : 0 ) )); // Line 2101 var ret = a.compareDocumentPosition(b) & 4 ? -1 : a === b ? 0 : 1;

    - by Hamid
    I have the following .htaccess: #Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteBase /phptest on my local testing server (http://localhost) I have to uncomment the first line for the site to work. Otherwise I get Error 403 (Forbidden). Once I upload the page to my webserver (FastHosts) I get Error 500 (Internal Server Error) if the first line is not commented out. If I comment it out, my page loads but it cannot find the page content which is mydomain.com/phptest/Home I get a 404. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?

  • In python writing from XML to CSV, encoding error

    - by user574435
    Hi, I am trying to convert an XML file to CSV, but the encoding of the XML ("ISO-8859-1") apparently contains characters that are not in the ascii codec which Python uses to write rows. I get the error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "convert_folder_to_csv_PLAYER.py", line 139, in <module> xml2csv_PLAYER(filename) File "convert_folder_to_csv_PLAYER.py", line 121, in xml2csv_PLAYER fout.writerow(row) UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xe1' in position 4: ordinal not in range(128) I have tried opening the file as follows: dom1 = parse(input_filename.encode( "utf-8" ) ) and I have tried replacing the \xe1 character in each row before it is written. Any suggestions?

  • How to perform gui operation in doInBackground method?

    - by jM2.me
    My application reads a user selected file which contains addresses and then displays on mapview when done geocoding. To avoid hanging app the importing and geocoding is done in AsyncTask. public class LoadOverlayAsync extends AsyncTask<Uri, Integer, StopsOverlay> { Context context; MapView mapView; Drawable drawable; public LoadOverlayAsync(Context con, MapView mv, Drawable dw) { context = con; mapView = mv; drawable = dw; } protected StopsOverlay doInBackground(Uri... uris) { StringBuilder text = new StringBuilder(); StopsOverlay stopsOverlay = new StopsOverlay(drawable, context); Geocoder geo = new Geocoder(context, Locale.US); try { File file = new File(new URI(uris[0].toString())); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader(file)); String line; while ((line = br.readLine()) != null) { StopOverlay stopOverlay = null; String[] tempLine = line.split("~"); List<Address> results = geo.getFromLocationName(tempLine[4] + " " + tempLine[5] + " " + tempLine[7] + " " + tempLine[8], 10); if (results.size() > 0) { Toast progressToast = Toast.makeText(context, "More than one yo", 1000); progressToast.show(); } else if (results.size() == 1) { Address addr = results.get(0); GeoPoint mPoint = new GeoPoint((int)(addr.getLatitude() * 1E6), (int)(addr.getLongitude() * 1E6)); stopOverlay = new StopOverlay(mPoint, tempLine); } if (stopOverlay != null) { stopsOverlay.addOverlay(stopOverlay); } //List<Address> results = geo.getFromLocationName(locationName, maxResults) } } catch (URISyntaxException e) { showErrorToast(e.toString()); //e.printStackTrace(); } catch (FileNotFoundException e) { showErrorToast(e.toString()); //e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { showErrorToast(e.toString()); //e.printStackTrace(); } return stopsOverlay; } protected void onProgressUpdate(Integer... progress) { Toast progressToast = Toast.makeText(context, "Loaded " + progress.toString(), 1000); progressToast.show(); } protected void onPostExecute(StopsOverlay so) { //mapView.getOverlays().add(so); Toast progressToast = Toast.makeText(context, "Done geocoding", 1000); progressToast.show(); } protected void showErrorToast(String msg) { Toast Newtoast = Toast.makeText(context, msg, 10000); Newtoast.show(); } } But if geocode fails, I want a dialog popup to let user edit the address. That would require calling on gui method while in doInBackground. What would be a good workaround this?

  • Python interpreter invocation with "-c" and indentation issues

    - by alexander
    I'm trying to invoke Python using the "-c" argument to allow me to run some arbitrary python code easily, like this: python.exe -c "for idx in range(10): print idx" Now this code works fine, from within my batch file, however, I'm running into problems when I want to do anything more than this. Consider the following Python code: foo = 'bar' for idx in range(10): print idx this would then give you 0-9 on the stdout. However, if I collapse this into a single line, using semicolons as delimiters, to get the following: foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx and try to run it using python.exe -c it get a SyntaxError raised: C:\Python>python.exe -c "foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx" File "<string>", line 1 foo = 'bar';for idx in range(10): print idx ^ SyntaxError: invalid syntax Anyone know how I can actually use this without switching to a separate .py file?

  • Is this possible with Sql 2005 CTE?

    - by aenima1982
    I have been working on a query that will return a suggested start date for a manufacturing line based on due date and the number of minutes needed to complete the task. There is a calendar table(LINE_ID, CALENDAR_DATE, SCHEDULED_MINUTES) that displays per manufacturing line, the number of minutes scheduled for that day. Example: (Usually 3 shifts worth of time scheduled per day, no weekends but can vary) 1, 06/8/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/7/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 1, 06/6/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/5/2010 00:00:00.000, 0 1, 06/4/2010 00:00:00.000, 1440 In order to get the suggested start date, I need to start with the due date and iterate downward through the days until i have accumulated enough time to complete the task. My Question can something like this be done with CTE, or is this something that should be handled by a cursor. Or... am i just going about this the wrong way completely??

  • Address Validation API

    - by Paul
    I have a task to validate addresses entered into a system I am currently creating. The system requires that address entered are validated against a valid data source. In the UK the dataset comes from the Royal Mail and is expensive to access. The data needed is post code info for the whold of europe to start with accessed by an API into the web application. There are a number of companies that offer this service, QAS Capscan Postcode anywhere These all offer the service I require. However this is expensive and in some cases not a complete data set. e.g. not Ireland I was also wondering if there would be a way to utalis the google maps API to validate this data via postal code and country. Would the google maps method be possible or do I have to go down the line of one of these expensive companies? Any thoughts on what line I should take.

  • How to convert list into a string?

  • Find the centroid of a polygon with weighted vertices

    - by Calle Kabo
    Hi, I know how to find the centroid (center of mass) of a regular polygon. This assumes that every part of the polygon weighs the same. But how do I calculate the centroid of a weightless polygon (made from aerogel perhaps :), where each vertex has a weight? Simplified illustration of what I mean using straight line: 5kg-----------------5kg ^center of gravity 10kg---------------5kg ^center of gravity offset du to weight of vertices Of course, I know how to calculate the center of gravity on a straight line with weighted vertices, but how do I do it on a polygon with weighted vertices? Thanks for your time!

  • Visual C++ 2008 doesn't recognize Windows declared types

    - by David Thornley
    I have a program that doesn't seem to recognize declared types in the latest U3D software. There's a line typedef BOOL (WINAPI* GMI)(HMON, LPMONITORINFOEX); which gets the error: Error 1 error C2061: syntax error : identifier 'LPMONITORINFOEX' c:\Projects\U3D\Source\RTL\Platform\Common\Win32\IFXOSRender.cpp 28 and a line MONITORINFOEX miMon; which gets Error 5 error C2065: 'miMon' : undeclared identifier c:\Projects\U3D\Source\RTL\Platform\Common\Win32\IFXOSRender.cpp 49 Error 3 error C2065: 'MONITORINFOEX' : undeclared identifier c:\Projects\U3D\Source\RTL\Platform\Common\Win32\IFXOSRender.cpp 49 The program's first non-comment statement is #include <windows.h>, which includes winuser.h, which defines these identifiers. In Visual Studio, I can right-click on them and go to the definition (a typedef) and from the typedef to the struct. WINAPI is defined in WinDef.h, so that seems to be working. There are no redefinitions of LPMONITORINFOEX or MONITORINFOEX in any other file. So, how can this be happening, and what can I do about it?

  • Regular expressions in python unicode

    - by Remy
    I need to remove all the html tags from a given webpage data. I tried this using regular expressions: import urllib2 import re page = urllib2.urlopen("http://www.frugalrules.com") from bs4 import BeautifulSoup, NavigableString, Comment soup = BeautifulSoup(page) link = soup.find('link', type='application/rss+xml') print link['href'] rss = urllib2.urlopen(link['href']).read() souprss = BeautifulSoup(rss) description_tag = souprss.find_all('description') content_tag = souprss.find_all('content:encoded') print re.sub('<[^>]*>', '', content_tag) But the syntax of the re.sub is: re.sub(pattern, repl, string, count=0) So, I modified the code as (instead of the print statement above): for row in content_tag: print re.sub(ur"<[^>]*>",'',row,re.UNICODE But it gives the following error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\beautifulsoup4-4.3.2\collocation.py", line 20, in <module> print re.sub(ur"<[^>]*>",'',row,re.UNICODE) File "C:\Python27\lib\re.py", line 151, in sub return _compile(pattern, flags).sub(repl, string, count) TypeError: expected string or buffer What am I doing wrong?

  • How do I detect server status in a port scanner java implementation

    - by akz
    I am writing a port scanner in Java and I want to be able to distinct the following 4 use cases: port is open port is open and server banner was read port is closed server is not live I have the following code: InetAddress address = InetAddress.getByName("google.com"); int[] ports = new int[]{21, 22, 23, 80, 443}; for (int i = 0; i < ports.length; i++) { int port = ports[i]; Socket socket = null; try { socket = new Socket(address, port); socket.setSoTimeout(500); System.out.println("port " + port + " open"); BufferedReader reader = new BufferedReader( new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream())); String line = reader.readLine(); if (line != null) { System.out.println(line); } socket.close(); } catch (SocketTimeoutException ex) { // port was open but nothing was read from input stream ex.printStackTrace(); } catch (ConnectException ex) { // port is closed ex.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } finally { if (socket != null && !socket.isClosed()) { try { socket.close(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } } The problem is that I get a ConnectionException both when the port is closed and the server cannot be reached but with a different exception message: java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect when the connection was never established and java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect when the port was closed so I cannot make the distinction between the two use cases without digging into the actual exception message. Same thing happens when I try a different approach for the socket creation. If I use: socket = new Socket(); socket.setSoTimeout(500); socket.connect(new InetSocketAddress(address, port), 1000); I have the same problem but with the SocketTimeoutException instead. I get a java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out if port was open but there was no banner to be read and java.net.SocketTimeoutException: connect timed out if server is not live or port is closed. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

  • .NET 2d library for circuit diagrams

    - by Dinah
    I want to draw and manipulate logic flow (as opposed to analog) circuit diagrams and I'm trying not to reinvent the wheel. Problems like positioning, line drawing, line crossing and connecting, path finding, rubberband lines, and drag & drop are also identical in flow charts, UML diagrams, or class diagrams so I started by viewing related topics via Google and Stack Overflow. However, the following requirements seemed to keep me from finding anything that quite fit: assuming a chip has an image with input and output stubs, the connecting lines would connect to the chip only in the exact spots of the I/O stubs the color of connecting lines are able to be set as per a chip's output Is there an existing .NET 2d graphics library that would be suitable for drawing circuit diagrams?
