  Is there any way to style the HTML element 'optgroup' using CSS? It's specifically important the style appears on the mobile iOS browser for iPad. The HTML is: <optgroup label="Great Britain"> <option value="EUROPE_ENGLAND">England</option> <option value="EUROPE_SCOTLAND">Scotland</option> <option value="EUROPE_WALES">Wales</option> </optgroup> And the CSS is: optgroup { color: red; } I'm not even sure it's possible to style the iPad's optgroup by the way.

• Android Device Chooser -- device not showing up

  I'm using the android plugin for eclipse, and when I try to run my program using a real device through the android device chooser, my phone is not listed as a device. I have updated eclipse and all of the android packages, but it still isn't showing up. My phone is running 1.6, which is also the target version listed in the eclipse project. Also, the reason I decided to try testing on a real device is because the emulator doesn't seem to be working right anymore when I run my project. The emulator launches, but the program never does. Any ideas? (using windows 7/t-mobile mytouch 3g)

  hi. I guess this is kind of a idiotic question but i have tried setting onClicklistener on an ImageView and it has worked. But the problem is that the user cannot sense the click. I mean if some of u have worked on other mobile environs(like apple iphone) then wen we click on a Image in other environs then it gives an effect on the image so that the user can understand that the image has been clicked. I have tried setting alpha using "setalpha" method but it doesnt work. Though the same thing is working fine on onFocusListener implementation. Can some1 suggest a different way to modify the image on click... I am new to android so havent learnt the nuances of simple animation also... if there is any simple animation i can use for the same then plzz plzzz let me know... Thanx...

• Visual Studio 2008: Don't deploy SQL Server Compact 3.5 when debugging

  Hi, I'm using VS2008 to create a Compact Framework application for a Windows CE 5.0 device (Datalogic Kyman). I'm using SQL Server Compact 3.5 in my application. However, I'm debugging on a Kyman that still has Windows CE 4.2 installed (attached via USB using Mobile Device Center). My problem: VS2008 does not recognize that SQL Server Compact is already installed on the device and asks me to install SQL Server Compact every time I'm running my application from the IDE. The installer shows me a warning about the SQL Server Compact CAB file not being suitable for this device, but installation works without errors, also the application works without errors. I've unchecked the box "Always deploy latest .NET version" (don't know what it's called in English exactly, using German VS2008), but that doesn't help. How can I tell Visual Studio not to install the SQL Server before launching my application every time?

• What is the meaning of NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 5.?

  Ok, I am back on this task. I have my XML properly download from my webserver with a URL pointing to the server's file, however, when I detect the network is 'unreachable' I simply point the URL to my application's local XML and I get the following error (N.B. the file is a direct copy of the one on the server). I cannot find detail description, but I think it is saying that the URL is pointing to an inaccessible location. Am I storing this resource in the wrong location? I think I want it in the HomeDirectory / Library?? • Initializing links in jqtouch in AJAX loaded content

  I have an iphone web app built in jqtouch, when content is loaded by links ("a" tags) then any content on the next page is parsed by jqtouch and any links are initialized. However, when I load content via an AJAX call and append() it to an element then any links in that content are NOT initialized by jqtouch. Thus any clicks on those links are full-blown clicks to a new resource and are not handled by jqtouch, so at that point you've effectively broken out of jqtouch.   Hi All, I am trying to play video files from iPhone media player in my iphone application.I am reading the stream from one Media server. but i am getting error message as "The server is not configured correctly". Here is my observation: - I kept five different video files on server.(i am sure that all of these files are properly encoded and in right format.) - When i try to run same video URL in Mobile Safari i works perfectly without any error. - When i try to run any of video it doesn't create any stream on media server.(Usually when i try to play video it create stream on media server.but here the stream is not created on server side.) - I tried to play this files using Apple's sample application MoviePlayer but i am facing same issue.(Here i tried to run the application on Simulator) I also checked on my iphone 2G having OS 3.1.2 (jailbreak) but i face same issue.   I am about to embark on developing a mobile application for both the iPhone and the Android based phone. I have most of my gui mock ups written down on a white board and some in my head. I need to put them down on paper so I can relay my designs to others in my team. I was wondering what the best on-line gui mockup tool I could use? I have a lot of experience with Visio and I truly like it. I want a tool that would be web based so I could collaborate with others on the team. • How to prevent non-admin user from disabling the Outlook 2007Addin?

  As per the MSDN documentation with the Office 2007 system, office Addins are registered under HKCU and not under HKLM. I have an Outlook 2007 addin which is also registered under HKCU. But the problem is that, even non admin users can also disable the addin since it is in HKCU. However with Outlook2003 addin this was not possible because it got registered in HKLM. I also see some of the Outlook 2007 addins that are registered under HKLM like Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin, Microsoft outlook Mobile service. When a non admin user tries to disable it, outlook displays a pop up message saying that these addins are registered in HKLM and user does not have the permission to disable it. So How can I register my Outlook 2007 addin under HKLM like these?

• Dashcode development for iPhone resources

  I've been developing web applications and iPhone applications for years. Now I want to create a web application oriented to the iPhone browser. I willing to use Dashcode, since it seams to have tons of cool features that make my web app look like an native iPhone app. The problem I face is twofold: On one side I don't know it Dashcode development will allow me to do all I want (session control, runtime datasources, etc); on the other side I'm having a hard time finding good documentation, tutorials and books on Dashcode programing for the iPhone. • Tips on implementing a custom UITextView interface on the iPhone?

  I am trying to implement a control to edit text that will display the text in multiple colors. None of the solutions I have attempted yet have been good enough. UITextView cannot accomplish this. All of the text must be the same color. Using CoreGraphics to draw the text does not allow the text to be selected. Using a UIWebView, DIV and PRE tags cannot be set to contentEditable on Mobile Safari. Currently playing with using an off-screen TEXTAREA and an on-screen DIV to show the rendered text. This works pretty well, except supporting all of these at the same time seems impossible: click-to-type, click-to-move-cursor, click-and-hold-select/copy/paste. Anyone have any tips on this predicament? I've been trying to find any preexisting library out there that will accomplish this in a good way, to no luck. I'm open to any ideas!

  Hello I am starting out as an Android Developer, and I would like to know if there are any Computer vision libraries or Augmented Reality libraries for the Android SDK , as I am planning to use these libraries for a mobile app. I have read that if I download the NDK, I might be able to "import/use" the C openCV, and ARtoolkit libraries, but I am wondering if this is possible, or if there is a better and easier way of using these tools. Android apps are programmed in Java, yet OpenCV & ARtoolkit use C/C++, any way to use these libraries?!? Thank you!

  How does CouchDB handles conflicts while doing bi-directional replication? For example: Lets say there are two address book databases (in server A and B). There is a document for Jack which contains contact details of Jack. Server A and B are replicated and both have the same version of Jack document. In server A, Jack's mobile no is updated. In server B, Jack's address is updated. Now when we do bi-directional replication there is a conflict. How does couchDB handles it? If we initiate replication in a Java program, is there a way to know whether there were any conflicts from the java program?

• Titanium webview bug or "feature"? Numbers converted to telephone links

  I can't stop Titanium's webview from converting numbers to telephone links. For instance, let's say I programmatically set the innerHTML of a div called test to 96840664702 and then write javascript... alert(document.getElementById('test').innerHTML In Mobile Safari on the iPhone, Firefox, etc., the alert will read "96840664702". If I point Titanium's webview to the same page, the alert will read: <a href="tel:96840664702" x-apple-data=detectors="true">96840664702</a> How can I globally disable the data-detectors? I tried a couple meta-tags... <meta name=”format-detection” content=”telephone=no” > <meta name="x-" http-equiv="x-rim-auto-match" forua="true" content="none"/> ... but they didn't work. I couldn't find a reference for a meta tag that specifically mentioned Apple's detectors. Again, it's only a problem in Titanium's webview. It works everywhere else.

I tried to find some info in Google but it seems that there are no examples or technical info about this subject. I am doing some test with CATiledLayer class without luck... • "Symbol not found" error for UIPopoverController in an iPhone/iPad Universal App

  In a universal binary iPhone/iPad app of mine, users are able to adjust preferences in a view controller that's presented modally. On the iPhone, the settings panel is presented with presentModalViewController:animated:, and on the iPad, I use a UIPopoverController. I'm having a heck of a time completely isolating the UIPopoverController code away from the iPhone code. Everytime I compile for the iPhone, I get the following error: dyld: Symbol not found: _OBJC_CLASS_$_UIPopoverController Referenced from: /var/mobile/Applications/CBB37F87-AA6D-47E2-823A-E259E3268A32/MyApp debug.app/MyApp Expected in: /System/Library/Frameworks/UIKit.framework/UIKit This is of course because UIKit on the iPhone doesn't have a UIPopoverController class. Does anybody have advice for how to effectively isolate the iPad API includes from the iPhone code, so I can actually run my code?

I know that both NetBeans and Eclipse offer an integrated environment to develop J2ME applications. Which one is more mature and stable? Which one offers better tools? My application has to communicate to many more devices running the same app and so I need to test my application with multiple instances of emulators running it and allowing these emulator instances to see each other via the J2ME Bluetooth APIs.   Hello, I'm working on a asp.net mvc2 app. I have been using jquery to do various different things in all of my views. They are work from a regular browser quite well. But I'm trying to figure out a good way to get the functionality working with browsers with javascript disabled (like mobile browsers). Is there a way to define a whole different view for non javascript browsers? A specific example of what I'm trying to do is, I have a with it's onClick calling a javascript that does $.post() to a controller. What's a good way to make it, so, it works the way it works right now (doing ajax calls) with regular javascript-enabled browsers and it a also works with javascript-incapable browsers, doing a full postback ?
