• Is there a way to have a dynamic google map that opens links in _blank?

  I came up with a good solution for a client showing a google map iFrame using the normal google maps embed. Only problem? They want the links inside the iFrame to open in a new window instead of there on the page. So, I used the static API to come up with a static image of a map and have that link to the google maps site with target="_blank". Great, but they don't get the pretty draggable map. Is there a way to do what I want using the google maps API? I'm reading the API documentation but without actually trying it I'm not sure if it can be done, and would love it if someone with some experience with the API can point me in the right direction or just tell me why it's WAY not worth the effort.

  I have sql statement one; select linkscat.id, linkscat.category from linkscat, contentlinks, links where contentlinks.linksid = links.id and contentlinks.contentid = @contentid and links.linkscatid = linkscat.id order by linkscat.category and sql statement 2 takes a parameter called @linkscat which is 'id' from the statement above; select * from links where linkscatid= @linkscat I'm running into all types of trouble trying to use many sqldatareaders, nested repeaters etc, but it would be great if all the work could be done in the one statement? • Perl parsing ps fwaux output

  I am trying to figure out children processes of a given parent from ps fwaux (there may very well be a better way to do this). Basically, I have daemons running that may or may not have a child process running at any given time. In another script I want to check if there are any child processes, and if so do something. If not, error out. ps fwaux|grep will show me the tree, but I'm not exactly sure what to do with it. Any suggestions would be great.

• why click on the button is not working on IE?

  Hi guys, I'm just preparing the release of a library site builded in asp.net: http://213.133.103.5/gramma_prod/Site/Index.aspx All it's working great on FF and Chrome but on IE the asp button click event is not working. Please notice the most important buttons: "Adauga in cos" (Add to basket)... I'm just struggling to find out the problem... I've checked the forms to not have nested ones but they seems ok. Could you provide any other ideea? ps: I did not post any code because this problem occurs on all pages... Thanks in advance. • Go to file in Visual Studio

  I've recently started a new job working with webdevelopment in .NET. Coming from a php and rails background i've been working mainly in Eclipse and NetBeans, along with some TextMate. I find myself missing a few great keyboard shortcuts and i can't seem to find a Visual Studio equivalent. NetBeans has the awesome "Go To File" and so does Eclipse with this plugin. Eclipse also has the option of quick searching in the open file list with Cmd/Ctrl-E. Is there something like this in Visual Studio? Either build in or via plugin. Or is there some other way of quickly navigating between files that's prefered?

• Documents/Images display fine in Simulator, but not on my device

  Hello. My application is running fine on the simulator, but not on the device. Basically, any documents from the web (PDF, Word, M4P videos) are working great on the simulator (and can be accessed from Safari on the iPhone). However, running on the iPhone, they don't display anything. Here's some sample code: // Set up the URL documentViewController.documentUrl = [NSURL URLWithString:[NSString stringWithFormat:mobileContentUrl]]; // mobileContentUrl is something like: http://www.myserver.com/pathitem/Video.mp4" and can be accessed from Safari [self.navigationController pushViewController:documentViewController animated:YES]; Within documentViewController I have: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; [webView loadRequest:[NSURLRequest requestWithURL:documentUrl]]; } As I said, works like a charm in the Simulator...What could possibly causing this NOT to work on iPhone? • Clarification For Dynamic Height Boxes for CSS

  I am having the hardest time trying to figure out this (should be) simple css: Website is here: http://mibsoftware.us/fct/index.php I'm simply trying to get my #leftcolumn and #maincolumn to be inside the #content_container, yet whatever I'm doing isn't working at all. I'd like for the #content_container to be a dynamic height since the height of #leftcolumn and #maincolumn change depending on the page you are on. From the framework of my css it should work fine, so I must be missing something in my .css file declaring these divs. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this will be a great learning experience for me.

After every export I get a perfectly made zipfile. The problem however is that when I try to import it, the mimetype sometimes is "application/empty". • jQuery AJAX & an ASP.NET web service works locally but not remotely

  Interesting one here. I have an ASP.NET 1.1 project that contains a web service in it. I'm using jQuery's AJAX functionality to call some services from the client. This is what my code looks like: $.ajax({ type: "POST", url: 'foo.asmx/functionName', data: 'foo1=' + foo1 + '&foo2=' + foo2, dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { //do something with my xml data }, error: function(request, error){ //handle my error } }); This works great when I run the site from my IDE on localhost. However, when I deploy this site to any other server I get a parsererror error from jQuery. It does not appear to even call my service as I dropped in some code to write a log file to disk and it's not making it there. The same exact XML should be returned from both my localhost and the server I deployed to. Any ideas?

  I would like to change the value of a textarea when hovering over a link. I am not very proficient at javascript and do not quite understand the intricacies of 'this.' and 'document.' etc.. Currently I have a textarea 'info' that on page load is unpopulated and two links that should change its value.   I have the following query that gets run within a proc. The function MyFunction returns a table, and this query joins on that table. This proc works great when a @MyArg value is supplied. However, I’m wondering if there’s a way to run this on all @MyArg values in the database. I’m sure there’s a way to do it within a loop, but I know that loops are generally to be avoided at the db layer. I really just need to perform this for the sake of checking (and possibly cleansing) some bad data. • Sql Server 2000 Stored Procedure Prevents Parallelism or something?

  I have a huge disgusting stored procedure that wasn't slow a couple months ago, but now is. I barely know what this thing does and I am in no way interested in rewriting it. I do know that if I take the body of the stored procedure and then declare/set the values of the parameters and run it in query analyzer that it runs more than 20x faster. From the internet, I've read that this is probably due to a bad cached query plan. So, I've tried running the sp with "WITH RECOMPILE" after the EXEC and I've also tried putting the "WITH RECOMPLE" inside the sp, but neither of those helped even a little bit. When I look at the execution plan of the sp vs the query, the biggest difference is that the sp has "Parallelism" operations all over the place and the query doesn't have any. Can this be the cause of the difference in speeds? Thank you, any ideas would be great... I'm stuck.

Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I appreciate helps so much!! Thanks! !!SORTED!! I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

• jQuery won't parse xml with nodes called option

  hi all, I'm using jQuery to parse some XML, like so: function enumOptions(xml) { $(xml).find("animal").each(function(){ alert($(this).text()); }); } enumOptions("<root><animal>cow</animal><animal>squirrel</animal></root>"); This works great. However if I try and look for nodes called "option" then it doesn't work: function enumOptions(xml) { $(xml).find("option").each(function(){ alert($(this).text()); }); } enumOptions("<root><option>cow</option><option>squirrel</option></root>"); There's no error, just nothing gets alerted, as if the find isn't finding anything. It only does it for nodes called option everything else I tested works ok! I'm using the current version of jQuery - 1.4.2. Anyone any idea? TIA. bg

• Automatically save CSS changes made to existing styles in Chrome dev tools?

  I've already mapped the necessary files to the local resource - however, while that does allow me to save any changes made to a file in the Sources panel, I was wondering if it's possible to automatically save changes to CSS made in the Elements panel. Otherwise at the moment, any changes made to the style in the Elements panel seem to exist only there. I remember at some point there used to be a little indicator of the file and line number next to a class/id etc. in the Styles tab of the Elements panel - surely it can't be that hard to simply 'update' any changes to that style rule considering Chrome knows exactly where it's coming from (in the case that it's a stylesheet and not an inline style?). It would be a great relief to my workflow. The answers to this similar question are obsolete.

• What's the status of the HTML 5 <video> tag and webcam integration?

  Even though it seems to be in some kind of jeopardy, the open video standard is a great idea. I saw some demos on motion tracking with it - just proofs-of-concept, but interesting nonetheless. Now, I'd say that concepts like these would really be a gain, if there would be access to the user's webcam... Just imagine browsing through Flickr with your hands in mid-air. I have Googled a little, but I can't find any detailed discussion on the subject. It is mentioned in some places, but that doesn't get me very far. Does anybody know whether support for this is planned? If yes, any prognosis on the 'when'? ;-) Of course, I guess they'd have to dream up a pretty good security model for it...
