    In Javascript, how can you set the event handler of a DOM element to default behavior? For example, suppose I set the onkeypress event of an input element: elem.onkeypress = function() { alert("Key pressed!"); } Later, how can I remove this event? Is it okay to simply set the onkeypress property to null? I tried that and it works, but I don't know if it is the proper way to do this.

    I'm trying to re-use an html component that i've written that provides panel styling. Something like: <div class="v-panel"> <div class="v-panel-tr"></div> <h3>Some Title</h3> <div class="v-panel-c"> .. content goes here </div> <div class="v-panel-b"><div class="v-panel-br"></div><div class="v-panel-bl"></div></div> </div> So I see that render takes a block. I figured then I could do something like this: # /shared/_panel.html.erb <div class="v-panel"> <div class="v-panel-tr"></div> <h3><%= title %></h3> <div class="v-panel-c"> <%= yield %> </div> <div class="v-panel-b"><div class="v-panel-br"></div><div class="v-panel-bl"></div></div> </div> And I want to do something like: #some html view <%= render :partial => '/shared/panel', :locals =>{:title => "Some Title"} do %> <p>Here is some content to be rendered inside the panel</p> <% end %> Unfortunately this doesn't work with this error: ActionView::TemplateError (/Users/bradrobertson/Repos/VeloUltralite/source/trunk/app/views/sessions/new.html.erb:1: , unexpected tRPAREN old_output_buffer = output_buffer;;@output_buffer = ''; __in_erb_template=true ; @output_buffer.concat(( render :partial => '/shared/panel', :locals => {:title => "Welcome"} do ).to_s) on line #1 of app/views/sessions/new.html.erb: 1: <%= render :partial => '/shared/panel', :locals => {:title => "Welcome"} do -%> ...     I would like the input stream read to block instead of reading end of stream (-1). Is there a way to configure the stream to do this?     Assume that we have a sequence S with n elements <x1,x2,...,xn>. A pair of elements xi,xj are considered neighbors if |xi-xj|<d, with d a given distance between two neighbors. So how can find out the element that has most neighbors in the sequence? (A simply way is sorting the sequence and then calculating number of each element but it's time complexity is quite large): O(nlogn) May you please help me find a better way to reduce time complexity?

  • Creating a voxel chunk with a VBO - How to translate the coordinates of each block and add it to the VBO chunk?

    Im trying to make a voxel engine similar to minecraft as a little learning experience and a way to learn some opengl. I have created a chunk class and I want to put all of the vertices for the whole chunk into a single VBO. I was previously only putting each block into a vbo and making a call to render each block. Anyways, I am a bit confused about how I can translate the coordinates of each block in the chunk when I'm putting all vertices into one vbo.   • Radio button inside anchor element is reset after jQuery click handler

    I have a situation where an element, of type radio, is contained in an element. The anchor element has a href but I want to override that behaviour by adding a jQuery 'click' handler to the element. The click handler makes the radio button inside it the selected one within the group. This all works when the anchor is clicked, however, when the radio button is clicked it appears that jQuery resets the selected radio to the previously selected one!     Ok so I'm trying to access the first element of a JSP list, here's what I've come up with so far without any kind of luck: onclick="alert('<%=list[0]%>');" What's the best approach to access the first element and eventually to pass it to a javascript variable/function ? I've heard that the <% %> tags are deprecated and some are suggesting relaying on JSTL/EL how can one use those without having to iterate the entire list and put a breakpoint for the iterators ?
