  • How to exclude series in legend (Flex)

    - by Sean Chen
Hello, In flex charting, I want to draw something like "reference lines" which are related to specific series, therefore these lines are not independent series and should not be shown in legend. Is it possible to exclude some series from chart legend? Thanks!

  • JSON encoding on RTL languages

    - by Lev
Hi, I'm using JSON to integrate open flash chart to my web page. When I have a Right to Left language string which contains more the one word the JSON encodes it backwards (For example: "Hello world" is encoded as "world hello"). The string is extracted from a database, there for can be of any language. How do I force the correct encoding of Right to Left language without ruining other languages? Thanks

  • A mysterious compilation error: cannot convert from 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>' to 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>'

    - by Stephane Rolland
    I wanted to protect the access to a log file that I use for multithreaded logging with boostlog library. I tried this stream class class ThreadSafeStream { public: template <typename TInput> const ThreadSafeStream& operator<< (const TInput &tInput) const { // some thread safe file access return *this; } }; using it this way (text_sink is a boostlog object): //... m_spSink.reset(new text_sink); text_sink::locked_backend_ptr pBackend = m_spSink->locked_backend(); const boost::shared_ptr< ThreadSafeStream >& spFileStream = boost::make_shared<ThreadSafeStream>(); pBackend->add_stream(spFileStream); // this causes the compilation error and I get this mysterious error: cannot convert from 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>' to 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>' the whole compile error: Log.cpp(79): error C2664: 'boost::log2_mt_nt5::sinks::basic_text_ostream_backend<CharT>::add_stream' : cannot convert parameter 1 from 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>' to 'const boost::shared_ptr<T> &' 1> with 1> [ 1> CharT=char 1> ] 1> and 1> [ 1> T=ThreadSafeStream 1> ] 1> and 1> [ 1> T=std::basic_ostream<char,std::char_traits<char>> 1> ] 1> Reason: cannot convert from 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>' to 'const boost::shared_ptr<T>' 1> with 1> [ 1> T=ThreadSafeStream 1> ] 1> and 1> [ 1> T=std::basic_ostream<char,std::char_traits<char>> 1> ] 1> No user-defined-conversion operator available that can perform this conversion, or the operator cannot be called I suspect that I am not well defining the operator<<()... but I don't find what is wrong.

  • ASP.NET Charting control - How to display Y values when no point data is specified?

    - by James
I have an ASP.NET chart of which the Y value is calculated based on the highest Y value point. The issue I have is if there are no Y points which exceed 0 then I can't get any labels to display. Here is a good day example: Some Name | 23 Some Name | 45 Some Name | 3 -------------- 0% 25% 50% Here is what I am getting if NO Y values are greater than 0 Some Name | Some Name | Some Name | -------------- What I need is for it to display: Some Name |0 Some Name |0 Some Name |0 -------------- 0% 100% Any ideas?

  • Anybody got a C# function that maps the SQL datatype of a column to its CLR equivalent?

    - by Chris McCall
I'm sitting down to write a massive switch() statement to turn SQL datatypes into CLR datatypes in order to generate classes from MSSQL stored procedures. I'm using this chart as a reference. Before I get too far into what will probably take all day and be a huge pain to fully test, I'd like to call out to the SO community to see if anyone else has already written or found something in C# to accomplish this seemingly common and assuredly tedious task.

  • Flex3 Linechart points are too close to the edge

    - by Marcus Blankenship
I have a Flex3 LineChart component using an CircleItemRenderer and the datapoints are being cut off because they are too close to the edge. Here's what it looks like: http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3850/chartx.png As you can see, the circles on the left and right sides are being cut off. How can I make the LineSeries area, plus the horizontal labels, narrower so it fits in the chart area? Thanks!

  • convert special characters but not tags

    - by Tom
I've got some text which needs converting to use HTML entities, but it also contains tags. Here's a sample: <p>Ofcom issued the warning to Global-owned GWR in Bristol – which is required to operate as a "contemporary and chart music and information station" – for operating outside the music </p> The (" and -) need to be converted but the paragraph tags must remain HTML. Using something like htmlentities converts everything, how can I convert everything but the tags?

  • Managing the interval for horizontal axis in flex

    - by Roshan
Hi Guys, How can we manage the horizontalaxis interval in flex chart? What actually happening is , the data is inserted between two interval levels and its causing readability problem when we draw line grids in graph. The data point is shown in between the data grids. How can we move the axis or manage the data points?

  • Looking for a visualization and charting package

    - by Jeff Meatball Yang
I have some specific requirements, with the most important at the top: Can plot line and stacked bar charts Can customize mouse events (hover, click) on chart data Compatible and performant with IE7/8 (likely will use excanvas.js) Can optionally control label formats, legends, colors Open source preferred, or at least can purchase the source Can be hosted locally I have seen a couple potentially good ones: Google's interactive charts (But code must be accessed via Google servers) EJSChart Flot Does anyone have experience with these, or others, and can make a recommendation?

  • What are useful functions for drawing text (MFC)?

    - by kobac
I'm creating a line chart control, and I need to write (or better say draw) the axis names and axis values. I found DrawText and TextOut functions, but the text they show is flickering and don't know how to set the font and text orientation (I will need vertical text orientation as well as horizontal). Are there any other functions you could recoommend or how to use these stated above and get the results I need? Thanks in advance. Cheers.

  • R adding infrequent date 'events' to a time series plot

    - by flyingcrab
Hi, I am just starting on R - and have hit a bit of a deadlock with some time series data. I have a time series (date and value) in 'zoo' format, that I want to annotate with a cross when an event occurs. The events are irregular and in a csv format (just the dates, sometimes repeated). I've managed to read in the dates etc into a format that R accepts - but i cant seem to get a means to chart the main time series with the secondary events annotated on top?

  • Algorithm for data alignment of float arrays in Java

    - by Derk
    I have two float arrays representing y values in a line chart. Now I want to align these two charts. Are there any existing algorithms for alignment of the two arrays? A very simple example a: 2.5 1.3 1.6 4.2 3.6 b: 3.3 1.4 2.5 1.3 1.6 Now after alignment it should be: 2.5 1.3 1.6 4.2 3.6 3.3 1.4 2.5 1.3 1.6

  • LINQ to XML, a problem conceptualizing how the tree should look.

    - by snark
Have you ever had one of those days when you've dug a hole but your so deep in now that the only option is to keep on digging and see where you come out? I thought just for giggles in the latest component I'm writing to use LINQ to XML because it was about time I saw what all the hooplah was about. The problem: I am making a graph component that contains series of data that get graphed and then you can apply a formula to that series and graph another series then apply a formula to that series and so on. So I figured that I would do so in 2 steps, create (and manage) an XML representaion of the series and how they relate to each other, then pass this xml to a draw engine which draws. Conceptually its a tree, with the exception of the root all child series being based upon a parent (1 parent can have many children. So I should always be adding child nodes to their parent and if I delete a node(series) then I can simply delete the series and its descendants (then draw) and voila all the messy iterating through each node finding parents and children is unneccessary. Trouble is I dont know how to represent this tree in XML i.e. the structure. My first attempt saw me programatically adding each series as siblings, which worked like a treat because I ended up with an ordered list and thus my order of rendering was maintained. I had this <Chart> <Series id="1">seriesText1</Series> <Series id="2">seriesText2</Series> <Series id="3">seriesText3</Series> <Series id="4">seriesText4</Series> </Chart> I'm in a muddle now ... how can I represent a series and a series that has children series. If some-one can give me a hint to how my tree should look (perhaps with a snippet on how to programatically add nodes to their parents) All the examples I have read usually have some container elements such as <ContactS> or <BookS> but my head says I have <series> some of them parent some of them children. Would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.

  • How do you export an report while using ActiveReports

    - by Kyra
I'm using Active Reports within my VB program to generate a report based on my data. Right now I have the report opening fine and it is allowing the user to print, copy, find, etc. I am unsure how to add the functionality to let the user choose to export the chart once the program is running.
