  • Notepad++: is there a way to force it to keep the autoindented-whitespace type?

    I wonder if we can force notepad++ to respect the previous whitespace character when it autoindents a new line: list[CR][LF] ····item1[CR][LF] ····item2[CR][LF] --->| (notepadd++ screenshot recreation showing hidden characters, because I don't have enough reputation to post images, sorry xP) If I am indenting with tabs I want a tab when notepad++ does an autoindent. But if I am indenting with spaces, I do want spaces.

  • Stop Windows 2003 queued error messages

    Hello, Each time I reboot a Windows 2003 server, after Windows has restared I get message dialogs for all the application crashes that happened since the last reboot. So after each reboot I have to click "Don't send" countless times, for crashes that happened weeks before. How can the display of these error messages be stopped?     Word 2010 is automatically cropping image being insterted like this: The million dollar question is why? I have this problem only in this particular section of this document. There is no such problem in another sections of document. The one possibility how to display whole area of image is to use floating layout like the first image in presented screenshot. But this solution has disadvantage that I have to manually format image positions after changes in text before.

    After files have already been opened in separate windows, is there a way to combine them in TextMate 1.5.9? Or, is there a way to get CyberDuck to open group files edited at the same time as TextMate projects? If you open a folder of files in TextMate, it groups them all in one window like such: But, if I open multiple files separately (as my FTP forces), they appear in multiple windows. Is there any way to combine multiple TextMate windows into one, so they appear grouped like in the screenshot above?

  • UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME error on laptop with no CD Drive

    I am getting the UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME error on my Samsung laptop which does not have a CD Rom drive. I tried to merge the C and D partitions to get more space but since then the laptop does not start up anymore. I dont care about the laptop, just about some pictures on there which I did not back up yet. I really hope someone can help me?!! I am a new user, so cant post pictures, but can send a screenshot if needed.

    I am looking for a screen capture tool that is controllable from the command line. Ideally I would pass the filename, and possibly some options (capture mouse pointer or not, etc..), then it would take control, allow the user to select a region of the screen, and then save it to the specified file and disappear. screensnip.exe /output c:\users\public\pictures\screenshot.png /hidecursor user draws rectangle on screen control passes back to batch file, script, etc....

  • VIM UI language issue

    I am using VIM for a while, but never faces such a problem. When i connect to my desktop Ubuntu PC via ssh from a tablet (Asus tf Prime) using terminal emulator (screen-256-colors) I got my vim in Chinese... On desktop it is correctly working in English.   • Excel File Names not Displayed

    Problem: When excel windows are minimised, I can't see the file name, all I get is a rather unhelpful 'Microsoft Excel' proceeded by the file name. I have the taskbar docked on the left, and have second monitor that I use about 50% of the time, but can't work out what is causing the problem, or a setting that I can change that will remove the appended software name at the beginning of the file.   • What am I missing out on when using msbuild to deploy?

    I'm trying to use msbuild/webdeploy with teamcity to deploy to IIS. However, I'm getting an ERROR_USER_UNAUTHORIZED error message and link pointing me to this page on iis.net. I'm using the Web Management Service to do this and I can verify that the username and password exist (I can log into the server with that combination), the site exists and the the user has IIS manager permissions: So what am I missing out?   • How to exit vncconfig process properly

    On CentOS 5.7, when open up a vncconfig, a tray icon shows on the taskbar. Hit close or the x button to close the vncconfig doesn't exit the vncconfig, the tray icon is still there. Next time, if I open up another vncconfig rather than clicking the one on taskbar. There will be another vncconfig tray icon added to the taskbar. Except using kill $pid to remove the tray icon, is there any other way to exit the vncconfig process properly? See screenshot below:

  • How do I find out from which fonts windows is pulling substitute glyphs?

    When a given font does not provide a glyph for a unicode character, windows pulls glyphs from a font which does provide it (see screenshot showing charmap and text editor displaying glyphs missing from calluna; the missing glyphs are (not) shown in the pdf visible in the same document. Fontforge also reveals that the glyphs are indeed not in that font). How can I work out from which font windows is pulling the substitute glyph? (I'm using windows 7)

  • XP: cannot assign a letter to a FAT32 partition

    I have an external hard disk, where I have created many partitions to use also in Linux. The first two partitions are FAT32. The third is a Truecrypt Partition. I cannot assign a letter to the second partition. When I go to Manage disk and make right clic on the unassigned partition, most of the items are not enables.   • One user sometimes gets an unknown certificate error opening Outlook

    Let me clarify a little. This isn't an unknown certificate error it's an unknown certificate error in so much as I can't figure out where the certificate comes from. This happens on a Win 7 Enterprise machine connecting to Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010. The error he gets is that the root is not trusted because it's a self-signed cert. Take a look at this screenshot because even if I had generated this myself I wouldn't have put "SomeOrganizationalUnit" or "SomeCity" or "SomeState", etc. (Red block covers our domain name.) I'm a little concerned this is a symptom of a security breach. Exchange 2010 has three certificates installed but none of them are this certificate. They all have different expiration dates (one is expired) and different meta-data. edit: There are two scenarios that I see the certificate warning and one of them I can reliably repeat. When the user leaves his computer on over night Outlook pops the Security Warning window. I don't know what time this happens. Using Outlook Anywhere if I connect to Exchange externally via a cellular USB modem the Security Warning window will appear every time I close and reopen Outlook. Whether I say Yes or No does not make a difference on whether or not I can connect to Exchange and send/receive email. In other words, I can always connect to Exchange. I've checked my two Exchange servers and my Cisco router for a certificate that matches this one and I can't find it. edit 2: Here is a screenshot of the Security Alert window. (I've been calling it Security Warning... My mistake.) edit 3: I stopped seeing this error several weeks ago but I can't tie it to any single event (because I just sort of realized that warning had stopped showing up) but I think I found the source of the certificate. Last week I found out that the certificate on our website DomainA.com was invalid. I knew that our web admin had installed a valid certificate so when I look into the problem I found out I was being presented with the invalid certificate that this posting is in regards to. The Exchange server's domain is mail.DomainA.com so I can only guess that Outlook was passing this invalid certificate through as it did some kind of check on DomainA.com. This issue is still a mystery because the certificate warning stopped appearing several weeks ago whereas the invalid certificate issue on the website was only fixed last week. It ended up being a problem with the website control panel. The valid certificate was installed but not being served for some reason and instead the self-signed cert was being served.

  • Stop Windows 8 from converting wallpapers to low quality JPGs

    This has been bugging me on Windows 7 as well, and much to my chagrin Microsoft didn't bother addressing that issue in Windows 8. Take this image for example: http://mantia.me/goodies/desktops/supermariobros_wide.jpg It's made for retina Macbooks, so naturally it's being downscaled when setting it as wallpaper on my 1680x1050 screen. Windows 8 manages to make it look like shit, see this screenshot: http://d.pr/i/WGFy Is there any way of making Windows always the original image, not some JPGized-to-hell version of it?

  • windows weekday and day of month don't match - calendar fail

    This computer came to my shop for just a simple Windows tuneup, so after doing all my tweaks, I noticed I was getting an error when trying to synchronize with the time server. It wasn't until I was about to give up that I noticed in the calendar that it's one weekday late. Here's a screenshot. As you can see, the day today, Friday - January 7th is a Thursday in the calendar. How is this possible?
