  • Copying non null-terminated unsigned char array to std::string

    - by karlphillip
If the array was null-terminated this would be pretty straight forward: unsigned char u_array[4] = { 'a', 's', 'd', '\0' }; std::string str = reinterpret_cast<char*>(u_array); std::cout << "-> " << str << std::endl; However, I wonder what is the most appropriate way to copy a non null-terminated unsigned char array, like the following: unsigned char u_array[4] = { 'a', 's', 'd', 'f' }; into a std::string. Is there any way to do it without iterating over the unsigned char array? Thank you all.

  • Lua Programming for PSP: Sending a string, then spliting that string

    - by Trey Andrews
How do I send a string between 2 PSPs? Here is a test script: Script A Adhoc.init() Adhoc.connect() data1 = "Trey777" data2 = "This is a test!!..." Outdata = "Name"..data1.."text"..data2 function senddata() Adhoc.send(Outdata) end While true do screen.waitVblankStart() screen:flip() end Script B red = Color.new(255,0,0) Adhoc.init() Adhoc.connect() function recevmsg() data = Adhoc.recv() ----What do I here to split the text? ----print name to line '0,10' ----print text to line'0,20' end While true do screen.waitVblankStart() screen:flip() end Each script will be loaded onto a different PSP. One will send and one will receive. I need to know how does it split a string? string.find and sub return numbers, not text

  • Java String Replace and null characters

    - by praspa
Testing out someone elses code (of course it was ...) , I noticed a few JSP pages printing funky non-ascii characters. Taking a dip into the source I found this tidbit. // remove any periods from first name e.g. Mr. John --> Mr John firstName = firstName.trim().replace('.','\0'); Does replacing a character in a String with a null character even work in Java? I know that '\0' will terminate a c-string. Would this be the culprit to the funky characters? Thanks PR

  • Performance intensive string splitting and manipulation in java

    - by juhanic
What is the most efficient way to split a string by a very simple separator? Some background: I am porting a function I wrote in C with a bunch of pointer arithmetic to java and it is incredibly slow(After some optimisation still 5* slower). Having profiled it, it turns out a lot of that overhead is in String.split The function in question takes a host name or ip address and makes it generic: 123.123.123.123-*.123.123.123 a.b.c.example.com-*.example.com This can be run over several million items on a regular basis, so performance is an issue.

  • A specific string format with a number and character together represeting a certain item

    - by sil3nt
Hello there, I have a string which looks like this "a 3e,6s,1d,3g,22r,7c 3g,5r,9c 19.3", how do I go through it and extract the integers and assign them to its corresponding letter variable?. (i have integer variables d,r,e,g,s and c). The first letter in the string represents a function, "3e,6s,1d,3g,22r,7c" and "3g,5r,9c" are two separate containers . And the last decimal value represents a number which needs to be broken down into those variable numbers. my problem is extracting those integers with the letters after it and assigning them into there corresponding letter. and any number with a negative sign or a space in between the number and the letter is invalid. How on earth do i do this?

  • Search a string to find which records in table are inside said string

    - by Improfane
Hello, Say I have a string. Then I have a number of unique tokens or keywords, potentially a large number in a database. I want to search and find out which of these database strings are inside the string I provide (and get the IDs of them). Is there a way of using a query to search the provided string or must it be taken to application space? Am I right in thinking that this is not a 'full text search'? Would the best method be to insert it into the database to make it a full text search?

  • java string detection of ip

    - by user384706
Hi, Assume a java string that contains an IP (v4 or v6) or a hostname. What is the best way to detect among these cases? I am not interested so much on whether the IP is in valid range (e.g. 999.999.999.999 for IPv4). I am interested in just a way to detect if a String is a hostname or an IP (v4 or v6). Initially I though this: if(theString.indexOf("@")!=-1){ //Not an Ip } but I am not sure if I should always expect a format containing @ always. Thanks

  • Determine if a string contains only alphanumeric characters (or a space)

    - by dreamlax
I'm learning C++ and I am writing a function that determines whether a string contains only alphanumeric characters and spaces. I suppose I am effectively testing whether it matches the regular expression ^[[:alnum:] ]+$ but without using regular expressions. I have seen a lot of algorithms revolve around iterators, so I tried to find a solution that made use of iterators, and this is what I have: #include <algorithm> static inline bool is_not_alnum_space(char c) { return !(isalpha(c) || isdigit(c) || (c == ' ')); } bool string_is_valid(const std::string &str) { return find_if(str.begin(), str.end(), is_not_alnum_space) == str.end(); } Is there a better solution, or a “more C++” way to do this?

  • php: problems with embedded apex in a string ?

    - by Patrick
how can I write more embedded " and ' in php ? For example, I dunno how to write this html complete element with all apex: As you can see, I use '' for the php string. Then inside, I use "", but then I need another level of apix and I dunno how to write that one in my php document. (php thinks that the string is complete in the middle because it sees another ' before the end. $output .= '<img style="outline:none;" src="sites/default/unselect.png" alt="Unselect All" onclick='$(this).siblings('.form-item').each(function(index){ $('input:checkbox', this).attr('checked', ''); });'/>'; how can I solve this ? thanks

  • Failed to convert parameter value from a Guid to a String

    - by user320460
Hello, I am at the end of my knowledge and googled for the answer too but no luck :/ Week ago everything worked well. I did a revert on the repository, recreated the tableadapter etc... nothing helped. When I try to save in my application I get an SystemInvalidCastException at this point: PersonListDataSet.cs: partial class P_GroupTableAdapter { public int Update(PersonListDataSet.P_GroupDataTable dataTable, string userId) { this.Adapter.InsertCommand.Parameters["@userId"].Value = userId; this.Adapter.DeleteCommand.Parameters["@userId"].Value = userId; this.Adapter.UpdateCommand.Parameters["@userId"].Value = userId; return this.Update(dataTable); **<-- Exception occurs here** } } Everything is stuck here because a Guid - and I checked the datatable preview with the magnifier tool its really a true Guid in the column of the datatable - can not be converted to a string ??? How can that happen?

  • string parsing and substring in c

    - by Josh
I'm trying to parse the string below in a good way so I can get the sub-string stringI-wantToGet: const char *str = "Hello \"FOO stringI-wantToGet BAR some other extra text"; str will vary in length but always same pattern - FOO and BAR What I had in mind was something like: const char *str = "Hello \"FOO stringI-wantToGet BAR some other extra text"; char *probe, *pointer; probe = str; while(probe != '\n'){ if(probe = strstr("\"FOO")!=NULL) probe++ else probe = ""; // Nulterm part if(pointer = strchr(probe, ' ')!=NULL) pointer = '\0'; // not sure here, I was planning to separate it with \0's } Any help will be appreciate it.

  • Merge a hash with the key/values of a string in ruby

    - by LazyJason
Hi there, I'm trying to merge a hash with the key/values of string in ruby. i.e. h = {:day => 4, :month => 8, :year => 2010} s = "/my/crazy/url/:day/:month/:year" puts s.interpolate(h) All I've found is to iterate the keys and replace the values. But I'm not sure if there's a better way doing this? :) class String  def interpolate(e)    self if e.each{|k, v| self.gsub!(":#{k}", "#{v}")}  end end Thanks

  • Erlang - Eccentricity with accented characters and string literal

    - by erevfall
Hey, I am trying to implement a function to differentiate between french vowels and consonnants. It should be trivial, let's see what I wrote down : -define(vowels,"aeiouyàâéèêëôù"). is_vowel(Char) -> C = string:to_lower(Char), lists:member(C,?vowels). It's pretty simple, but it behaves incorrectly : 2> char:is_vowel($â). false While the interpreted version works well : 3> C = string:to_lower($â), lists:member(C,"aeiouyàâéèêëôù"). true What's going on ?

  • Excel file reading with 2007 office connection string.

    - by p-vasuu
Actually in my system having 2007 office then i am reading the 2003 .xls file with using the 2007 connection string string ConnectionString = "Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=" + Filename + ";Extended Properties=\"Excel 8.0;HDR=YES;\""; data is not reading. But if the first row first column data length is lessthen 255 then the following first columns data is cutting up to 255 character. If the First row first column is morethan the 255 character then the following first columns data is reading fine. Is there any back word computability is there?
