  • How can I attach a file using Wordpress custom fields / meta boxes?

    - by shipshape
    I am using Wordpress's add_meta_box() function to add customized meta fields to the Add New Post page, like this. I want one of these fields to allow the user to upload a file, so that a single image, pdf, audio file, or video can be associated with the post. The closest example I've seen is this one. Unfortunately it does not suit my needs, as I want my file to be processed by Wordpress's Media Uploader - so it should appear in the Media Library afterwards, and thumbnails should be generated according to the Media settings. I think ideally there would be a way to tap into Wordpress's existing Add Media dialog, and simply output the URL of the uploaded file into a text box, but I don't see how to do that. This question is similar, but the answers are a little clunky - I would like to keep this super simple for my end users. How can I accomplish this? Please do not recommend plugins such as Flutter or Magic Fields - I have tried these and they do not suit my purposes (I want the images to be processed by Wordpress's Media Uploader). I am using Wordpress 3.0-alpha. Thanks!

  • PHPthumbFactory file not found on upload

This is the code: $("document").ready(function () { var i = 0; //iteration for Inputted File var max = 5; //max file uploaded createStatus(); //generate status container $('.imageNow').change(function() { if($(this).val()) { var ext = $(this).val().split('.').pop().toLowerCase(); var allow = [ 'gif', 'png', 'jpg', 'jpeg' ]; if (jQuery.inArray(ext, allow) != -1) { //validation true addImgInput($(this).clone()); $(this).addClass('imgOK'); $(this).removeClass('imageNow'); addImgList($(this).val()); removeImgStatus(); i++; } else { addImgStatus(); $(this).remove(); addImgInput(); } } return false; }); }); This is another function that I use: function addImgInput(inputClone) { $(inputClone).prependTo( $('#upload_images') ); //div container for generated InputFileImg }; function addImgList(listingImg) { $('#list_image_file').append('<li>' + listingImg + '</li>' ); //list all images that have been inputted } function createStatus() { $('#upload_images').append('<small class="status"></small>'); //error display container } function addImgStatus() { $('.status').append('* Wrong File Extension'); //error display text } function removeImgStatus() { $('.status').empty(); } Mmm..yeah is't not finished yet, because when I try to generate another Inputfile with imageNow class, the $('.imageNow').change(function() is not going to work anymore.   • Paperclip failing to upload on specific scaffold, yet works on others

    - by Saifis
    I know there are tons of questions about paperclip, but I failed to find the answer to my problem. I know its prob just something simple, but I I'm running out of hair to pull out. I have paperclip working on other parts of my project, they work with no problem, however, a certain scaffold fails to upload, all the attributes to the uploaded file are nil. Here are the relevant information. Model: has_attached_file :foo, :styles => { :thumb => "140x140>" }, :url => "/data/:id/:style/:basename.:extension", :path => ":rails_root/public/data/:id/:style/:basename.:extension" View: <% form_for(@bar, :html => { :multipart => true }) do |f| %> <%= f.error_messages %> ---------- <li><%= f.label :top %> <%= f.file_field :foo %></li> ---------- <ul><%= f.submit "Save" %></ul> <% end %> Also, comparing the logs to the parts that work, the :foo attribute seems to be passing different values than in the ones that work. In the logs, when the paperclip function works, it looks like this "image"=>#<File:/var/folders/M5/M5HEb+WhFxmqNDGH5s-pNE+++TI/-Tmp-/RackMultipart20100512-1302-5e2e6e-0> when it does not, it seems to pass the file name directly "foo"=>"foo_image.png" I am developing locally on MacOSX using local rails and ruby libs.

  • Problem with filefield module after migrating drupal site to a new server: cant upload files

    - by oalo
    We have a content type with two imagefield / filefield fields, and after migrating our site to a new server, we have the following problem: When we submit a new item for this content type, with two images for those fields, drupal gives us the following error and does not upload the images: warning: fopen(sites/default/files/.htaccess) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /websites/sitename/data/sites/all/modules/filefield/field_file.inc on line 349. warning: fopen(sites/default/files/.htaccess) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in /websites/sitename/data/sites/all/modules/filefield/field_file.inc on line 349. • Request size limitation when using MultipartHttpServletRequest of Spring 3.0

    - by Spiderman
    I'd like to know what is the size limitation if I upload list of files in one client's form submition using HTTP multipart content type. On the server side I am using Spring's MultipartHttpServletRequest to handle the request. mM questions: Is there should be different file size limitation and total request size limitation or file size is the only limitation and the request is capable of uploading 100s of files as lonng as they are not too large. Doest the Spring request wrapper read the complete request and store it in the JAVA heap memory or it store temporaray files of it to be able to use big quota. Is the use of reading the httpservlet request in streaming would change the size limitation than using complete http request read at-once by the application server. What is the bottleneck of this process - Java heap size, the quota of the filesystem on which my web-server runs, the maximum allowed BLOB size that the DataBase in which I am gonna save the file alows? or Spring internal limitations? Related threads that still don't have exact answer to this: does-spring-framework-support-streaming-mode-in-mutlipart-requests is-there-a-way-to-get-raw-http-request-stream-from-java-servlet-handler how-to- drop-body-of-a-request-after-checking-headers-in-servlet apache-commons-fileupload-throws-malformedstreamexception

  • Dynamic editor upload into web page. Need advice

    - by Andrew Florko
    Hello everybody, I am writing intranet site for tracking employees science activities in organization. There lots of editable information on each personal page (science degree, publications & so on) so I upload editor per request (user clicks "edit" and modal dialog with html editor: set of textboxes/comboboxes/autocomplete features & validation logic appears). Editor is html layout that is wrapped with jquery dialog plugin + some logic, written as javascript functions that should be invoked from the callee page (onsubmit, validate, afterLoad editor events). There are also attributes (editor preferrable with and height) that are passed to callee page also. Currently I send these functions & attribute as ... function onsubmit() { }; function validate() { } var width = 640; var height = 800 ... code that is embedded into the request page. Function calls and editor markup wrap with jquery plugin completed in the callee page. It works, but I have some try { call editor event handler } catch { } stuff in callee page (because not every editor provides these functions) and some attributes (editor width & height for instance) that are loaded as variables declared in javascript. Please, suggest, is there a better approach to build & use custom editors for my situation. Thank you in advance!

  • Iteratively creating multiple file input fields in Rails

    - by David
    I have a column of product views in a database (e.g. top, bottom, front, back). I'm trying to generate a series of file inputs to allow the user to upload an image for each view. This is the result I'm after: ... <label>Top</label> <input type="file" name="image[Top]"><br> <label>Bottom</label> <input type="file" name="image[Bottom]"><br> <label>Front</label> <input type="file" name="image[Front']"><br> ... This is what I'm trying: <%= views = View.order('name ASC').all.map { |view| [view.name, view.id] } %> <%= views.each { |view| label(view); file_field('image', view) } %> However, all this does is print out the views array a couple of times. Hopefully you Rails experts can point me in the right direction. (I apologize in advance if I'm butchering Ruby.)

  • QProgressBar problem with uploading

    - by rolanddd
    Hey all! I show my code first, then I explain my problem: ... // somewhere in the constructor progressBar = new QProgressBar(this); progressBar-setMinimum(0); progressBar-setMaximum(100); ... connect(&http, SIGNAL(dataSendProgress(int, int)), this, SLOT(updateProgressBar(int, int))); ... void MainWindow::updateProgressBar(int bytesSent, int total) { progressBar-setMaximum(total); progressBar-setValue(bytesSent); } So this is how I try to make my progressBar being updated when I upload a file. The problem is, it won't do the job. When it starts uploading, I set the value of the progress bar to 0, then (thanks to this slot) it won't actually show the progress, but will jump to 100% immediately (even before it finished uploading). I already checked the HTTP Client example, and copied the progress bar part, it is for downloading, and more or less is the same as for uploading but it uses the dataReadProgress signal (needed for downloading) AND it works perfectly. Does anybody know how to solve this for uploading?

  • AJAX Uploading - Not waiting for response before continuing

    - by waxical
    I'm using Blueimp's jQuery Uploader (very good it is too btw) and an S3 handler to upload files and then transfer them to S3 via the S3 API (from the PHP SDK). It works. The problem is, on large files (1GB) it can take anything up to a a few minutes to transfer (via create-object) onto S3. The PHP file that does this is hung-up until this process is complete. The problem is, the uploader (which utilises the jQuery Ajax method) seems to give up waiting and start again everytime. I have thought this was related to PHP INI 'max_input_time' or such, as it seemed to wait around 60 seconds, though this now appears to vary. I have upped the max_input_time in PHP INI and others related - but no further. I've also considered (the more likely) that JS, either in the script or the jQuery method has a timeout. The developer (blueimp) has said there's no such timeout in the front-end script, nor have I seen any and though 'timeout' is referenced in the jQuery Ajax method options, it seems to affect the entire time it uploads rather than the wait for a response - so that's not much use. Any help or guidance gratefully received.

  • Determining unknown content-types with the Html5 file api

    - by Jesse
    I'm working through a small file upload script (learning experience) and I noticed that when selecting microsoft office related files (.doc or .docx for example) the file objects do not have a type specified: For .doc files I had expected the type to be "application/msword" and along the same train of thought .docx to be "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document". In the cases when the type cannot be determined is the correct course of action to look at the file extension and match that to the "expected" content / mime type? Sample script: <div id="fileUpload"> <input type="file" id="fileElem" style="display:none;" onchange="handleFiles(this.files)"/> <a href="#" id="fileSelect">Select some files</a> </div> <script type="text/javascript"> var fileSelect = document.getElementById("fileSelect"), fileElem = document.getElementById("fileElem"); fileSelect.addEventListener("click", function (e) { if (fileElem) { fileElem.click(); } e.preventDefault(); }, false); function handleFiles(files) { console.log(files); } </script>

  • Error on Access database: Permission denied: 'CreateObject'

    Hi, I am migrating a website over to a new server, its in ASP and uses several Access databases, the site and CMS can read, display the data, and even edit and update existing data entries, but when I want to add a new entry, I get an error... Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046' Permission denied: 'CreateObject' /padp2010d/ads_tradetracker.asp, line 11 There seems to be no passwords on the databases, I have set up and tested the ODBC Data Sources and they are working fine. The code or line that is causing the problem is... <% Dim Mail, strPath, strHost, Upload Set Upload = CreateObject("Persits.Upload") Upload.IgnoreNoPost = True ' Generate unique names Upload.OverwriteFiles = False ' Limit file size to 500000 bytes Upload.SetMaxSize 500000, True ' capture an upload and save uploaded files (if any) in temp directory Upload.SaveVirtual "\pa\images\advertenties" Upload.Save ' Use session ID as the new file name NewName = Session.SessionID The line 11 is Set Upload = CreateObject("Persits.Upload") If anyone could help that would be great. Could it be a Permission setting? Im a complete novice with ASP and Access! Thanks

  • c# Uploading files to ftp server

    - by etarvt
    Hi there, I have a problem with uploading files to ftp server. I have a few buttons. Every button uploads different files to the ftp. The first time when a button is clicked the file is uploaded successfully, but the second and later tries fail. It gives me "The operation has timed out". When I close the site and then open it again I can upload again only one file. I am sure that I can override files on the ftp. Here's the code: protected void btn_export_OnClick(object sender, EventArgs e) { Stream stream = new MemoryStream(); stream.Position = 0; // fill the stream bool res = this.UploadFile(stream, "test.csv", "dir"); stream.Close(); } private bool UploadFile(Stream stream, string filename, string ftp_dir) { stream.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); string uri = String.Format("ftp://{0}/{1}/{2}", "host", ftp_dir, filename); try { FtpWebRequest reqFTP = (FtpWebRequest)FtpWebRequest.Create(new Uri(uri)); reqFTP.Credentials = new NetworkCredential("user", "pass"); reqFTP.Method = WebRequestMethods.Ftp.UploadFile; reqFTP.KeepAlive = false; reqFTP.UseBinary = true; reqFTP.UsePassive = true; reqFTP.ContentLength = stream.Length; reqFTP.EnableSsl = true; // it's FTPES type of ftp int buffLen = 2048; byte[] buff = new byte[buffLen]; int contentLen; try { Stream ftpStream = reqFTP.GetRequestStream(); contentLen = stream.Read(buff, 0, buffLen); while (contentLen != 0) { ftpStream.Write(buff, 0, contentLen); contentLen = stream.Read(buff, 0, buffLen); } ftpStream.Flush(); ftpStream.Close(); } catch (Exception exc) { this.lbl_error.Text = "Error:<br />" + exc.Message; this.lbl_error.Visible = true; return false; } } catch (Exception exc) { this.lbl_error.Text = "Error:<br />" + exc.Message; this.lbl_error.Visible = true; return false; } return true; } Does anyone have idea what may cause this strange behaviour? I think I'm closing all streams accurately. Could this be related with the ftp server settings? The admin said that the ftp handshake never happened second time.

  • Why would some POST data go missing when using Uploadify?

    - by Chad Johnson
    I have been using Uploadify in my PHP application for the last couple months, and I've been trying to track down an elusive bug. I receive emails when fatal errors occur, and they provide me a good amount of details. I've received dozens of them. I have not, however, been able to reproduce the problem myself. Some users (like myself) experience no problem, while others do. Before I give details of the problem, here is the flow. User visits edit screen for a page in the CMS I am using. Record id for the page is put into a form as a hidden value. User clicks the Uploadify browse button and selects a file (only single file selection is allowed). User clicks Submit button for my form. jQuery intercepts the form submit action, triggers Uploadify to start uploading, and returns false for the submit action (manually cancelling the form submit event so that Uploadify can take over). Uploadify uploads to a custom process script. Uploadify finishes uploading and triggers the Javascript completion callback. The Javascript callback calls $('#myForm').submit() to submit the form. Now that's what SHOULD happen. I've received reports of the upload freezing at 100% and also others where "I/O Error" is displayed. What's happening is, the form is submitting with the completion callback, but some post parameters present in the form are simply not in the post data. The id for the page, which earlier I said is added to the form as a hidden field, is simply not there in the post data ($_POST)--there is no item for 'id' in the $_POST array. The strange thing is, the post data DOES contain values for some fields. For instance, I have an input of type text called "name" which is for the record name, and it does show up in the post data. Here is what I've gathered: This has been happening on Mac OSX 10.5 and 10.6, Windows XP, and Windows 7. I can post exact user agent strings if that helps. Users must use Flash 10.0.12 or later. We've made it so the form reverts to using a normal "file" field if they have < 10.0.12. Does anyone have ANY ideas at all what the cause of this could be?

  • Using Jquery.Form Plugin + MultiFile to automatically upload a single file

    - by Alan Neal
    I wanted to find a way to upload a single file*, in the background, have it start automatically after file selection, and not require a flash uploader, so I am trying to use two great mechanisms (jQuery.Form and JQuery MultiFile) together. I haven't succeeded, but I'm pretty sure it's because I'm missing something fundamental. Just using MultiFile, I define the form as follows... <form id="photoForm" action="image.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> The file input button is defined as... <input id="photoButton" "name="sourceFile" class="photoButton max-1 accept-jpg" type="file"> And the Javascript is... $('#photoButton').MultiFile({ afterFileSelect: function(){ document.getElementById("photoForm").submit(); } }); This works perfectly. As soon as the user selects a single file, MultiFile submits the form to the server. If instead of using MultiFile, as shown above, let's say I include a Submit button along with the JQuery Form plugin defined as follows... var options = { success: respondToUpload }; $('#photoForm').ajaxForm(options); ... this also works perfectly. When the Submit button is clicked, the form is uploaded in the background. What I don't know how to do is get these two to work together. If I use Javascript to submit the form (as shown in the MultiFile example above), the form is submitted but the JQuery.Form function is not called, so the form does not get submitted in the background. I thought that maybe I needed to change the form registration as follows... $('#photoForm').submit(function() { $('#photoForm').ajaxForm(options); }); ...but that didn't solve the problem. The same is true when I tried .ajaxSubmit instead of .ajaxForm. What am I missing? BTW: I know it might sound strange to use MultiFile for single-file uploads, but the idea is that the number of files will be dynamic based on the user's account. So, I'm starting with one but the number changes depending on conditions.

First off, I load the pictures into a variable and then send the variable), cause now I have to specify the path of the picture on a disk. I wanted to write this program in c++ by using the curl library, not through exe. extension. I have also found such a program (which has been modified by me a bit) #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <iostream> #include <curl/curl.h> #include <curl/types.h> #include <curl/easy.h> int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { CURL *curl; CURLcode res; struct curl_httppost *formpost=NULL; struct curl_httppost *lastptr=NULL; struct curl_slist *headerlist=NULL; static const char buf[] = "Expect:"; curl_global_init(CURL_GLOBAL_ALL); /* Fill in the file upload field */ curl_formadd(&formpost, &lastptr, CURLFORM_COPYNAME, "send", CURLFORM_FILE, "nowy.jpg", CURLFORM_END); curl_formadd(&formpost, &lastptr, CURLFORM_COPYNAME, "nowy.jpg", CURLFORM_COPYCONTENTS, "nowy.jpg", CURLFORM_END); curl_formadd(&formpost, &lastptr, CURLFORM_COPYNAME, "submit", CURLFORM_COPYCONTENTS, "send", CURLFORM_END); curl = curl_easy_init(); headerlist = curl_slist_append(headerlist, buf); if(curl) { curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_URL, "http://www.imageshack.us/index.php"); if ( (argc == 2) && (!strcmp(argv[1], "xml=yes")) ) curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, headerlist); curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_HTTPPOST, formpost); res = curl_easy_perform(curl); curl_easy_cleanup(curl); curl_formfree(formpost); curl_slist_free_all (headerlist); } system("pause"); return 0; }

  • Cakephp file upload problem.

    - by vatismarty
    I am using Cakephp as my framework. I have a problem in uploading my files through a form. I am using an Uploader plugin from THIS website. My php ini file has this piece of code. upload_max_filesize = 10M post_max_size = 8M this is from uploader.php -- plugin file has var $maxFileSize = '5M'; //default max file size In my controller.php file, i use this code to set max file size as 1 MB at runtime. function beforeFilter() { parent::beforeFilter(); $this->Uploader->maxFileSize = '1M'; } In the uploader.php, we perform this ... if (empty($this->maxFileSize)) { $this->maxFileSize = ini_get('upload_max_filesize'); //landmark 1 } $byte = preg_replace('/[^0-9]/i', '', $this->maxFileSize); $last = $this->bytes($this->maxFileSize, 'byte'); if ($last == 'T' || $last == 'TB') { $multiplier = 1; $execTime = 20; } else if ($last == 'G' || $last == 'GB') { $multiplier = 3; $execTime = 10; } else if ($last == 'M' || $last == 'MB') { $multiplier = 5; $execTime = 5; } else { $multiplier = 10; $execTime = 3; } ini_set('memore_limit', (($byte * $multiplier) * $multiplier) . $last); ini_set('post_max_size', ($byte * $multiplier) . $last); //error suspected here ini_set('upload_tmp_dir', $this->tempDir); ini_set('upload_max_filesize', $this->maxFileSize); //landmark 2 EXPECTED RESULT: When i try uploading a file that is 2MB of size, it shouldn't take place because maxFileSize is 1MB at run time. So upload should fail. THE PROBLEM IS : But it is getting uploaded. Landmark 1 does not get executed. (in comments)... land mark 2 does not seem to work... upload_max_filesize does not get the value from maxFileSize. Please help me... thank you
