    Kohana 3.2 was designed to support the HMVC design pattern. The HMVC pattern consists of nested MVC-triads. Yet as far as I can tell, Kohana's cascading file system requires all Models and Controllers to be placed within a top 'classes' directory, and Views into a top 'views' directory. If Model/Controllers are thus separated from Views at the top level of the file system, then how are we supposed to implement nested MVC-triads?

  • Should using Eval carry the same stigma as GoTo?

    It is taught in every computer science class and written in many books that programmers should not use GoTo. There is even an xkcd comic about it. My question is have we reached a point where the same thing can be said about Eval? Where GoTo is not conductive for program flow and readability, Eval is the same for debugging, and program execution, and design. Should using Eval have the same stigma as GoTo, and same consequences as in the xkcd comic?

Can I reference the external XAML file that I want to include as a Resource on the UserControl I want to render it in? Or is there some other markup that I can use to identify the XAML object in my project that I want rendered in the current location? I am using Silverlight 4.

  • Fast Remote PHP Technique To Detect Image 404

    What PHP script technique runs the fastest in detecting if a remote image does not exist before I include the image? I mean, I don't want to download all the bytes of the remote image -- just enough to detect if it exists. And while on the subject but with just a slight deviation, I'd like to download just enough bytes to determine a JPEG's width and height information. Speed is very important in my concern here on this system design I'm working on.

But don't pipes internally use message queues, then how come pipes are unidirectional but message queues are not? However if you go into the site and click any link say web-design You can see that the default template is no longer being displayed.   • TArray<Byte> VS TBytes VS PByteArray

    Those 3 types are very similar... TArray is the generic version of TBytes. Both can be casted to PByteArray and used as buffer for calls to Windows API. (with the same restrictions as string to Pchar). What I would like to know: Is this behavior "by design" or "By Implementation". Or more specifically, could it break in future release?

However if I place them in a usercontrol, and then try to add this user control to the parent page via updatepanel, then my custom validators just won't trigger. They simply don't work.     I've added an image element to my Silverlight app, and while the image pulls right up when in design mode, it doesn't load at all when running the app. Code is: <Image Height="95" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="12,541,0,0" Name="imgBannerAd" Stretch="Fill" VerticalAlignment="Top" Width="828" Source="http://myurl.com/images/theimage.png" /> What's the deal? I'd tried running the file via the local hard drive and localhost, neither has any effect.
