• Multiple delivery confirmations per message with Ruby SMPP

  I am using the ruby smpp library to send/receive SMS. Right now we are sending messages to two different servers, using the ruby-smpp library. One of them works perfectly, but the other one sends multiple DELIVRD confirmations for each messages. And by multiple I mean hundreds of confirmations per message in some cases. Does anyone know any possible reason behind this? I am thinking on something relative to the implementation of the protocol the company is using, since it works perfectly with the other one, and not on the lines of a bug in the specific smpp ruby library. We are using smpp v3.4.

• ArrayCollection error in Flex does not accept single XML nodes - alternatives?

  hello, i get this error when i retrieve an XML that only has 1 node (no repeating nodes) and i try to store in an ArrayCollection. -When I have MORE than 1 "name" nodes...i do NOT get an error. TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "XXXXXX" to mx.collections.ArrayCollection. this error occurs as the line of code: myList= e.result.list.name; Why can't ArrayCollection work with a single node? I'm using this ArrayCollection as a dataprovider for a Component -is there an alternative I can use that will take BOTH single and repeating nodes as well as work as a dataprovider? • Using the same class in both server and web service

  I have classes that are needed in both my web service and my server. For example, I have a class named Order that I'd like to send from my server to the web service and vice-versa. Problem is that the class in the server is Order and the one on the web service is localhost.Order, and it is impossible to convert between them, even though they are built from the very same code. Error is cannot convert from 'Order[]' to 'localhost.Order[]'. What can I do? Thank you very much.

• Objective C message dispatch mechanism

  I am just staring to play around with Objective C (writing toy iPhone apps) and I am curious about the underlying mechanism used to dispatch messages. I have a good understanding of how virtual functions in C++ are generally implemented and what the costs are relative to a static or non-virtual method call, but I don't have any background with Obj-C to know how messages are sent. Browsing around I found this loose benchmark and it mentions IMP cached messages being faster than virtual function calls, which are in turn faster than a standard message send. I am not trying to optimize anything, just get deeper understanding of how exactly the messages get dispatched. How are Obj-C messages dispatched? How do Instance Method Pointers get cached and can you (in general) tell by reading the code if a message will get cached? Are class methods essentially the same as a C function (or static class method in C++), or is there something more to them? I know some of these questions may be 'implementation dependent' but there is only one implementation that really counts.

  Hi! I am using an XMLHttpRequest to POST a JSON string to PHP. The JSON object is created in JavaScript and using the JSON2.js from json.org to create an JSON string representing the object. JSON.stringify(object); Whenever the object contains a string which has a special character in it, e.g. é, JavaScript does not give any error but PHP receives an empty array [] Is there a JavaScript function which produces the exact same resutls as the PHP function htmlentities() The data is send via POST, so the following functions escape() encodeURI() encodeURIComponent() are a bit overkill. • jQuery fadeIn fails with jqQuery form-plugin

  I have a message that I want to fadeIn when a form is successfully send. I'm using the jQuery form plugin and the code: $(document).ready(function() { var options = { target: '#output', beforeSubmit: validate, resetForm: true }; $('#holdform').ajaxForm(options); }); The validate function works perfectly so i added this code before it returns true: (...) $('#output').fadeIn('slow'); return true; } This should fadeIn the div I have underneath the form, styled as display: none;. But what happens is that the div fades in and then disappears. Does anyone have an explanation and possibly a solution to fix it? Thank you in advance! • External XMPP component - Anyone know a Tutorial or Open Source Example please?

  Hi All, I want to run an XMPP server (Openfire) and register an external component to handle the messages it will recieve (using the Whack library). The external component will run my game logic and I will be using XMPP to send player moves to the server and status updates in the other direction. The bonus with XMPP is that we get built in chat for free. The trouble is, although Ignite look fairly established, I can't find a tutorial on how to write, register and debug an External XMPP component written with Whack, there are very few in general for that matter. I am not invested in either the server implementation or the External Component library, java is just my language of choice. If I was to move to Erlang or Scala or something it would have to be a very simple in that language. A single tutorial or example would go a long way here, I just need an basic External XMPP component pretty please! Kind regards, Gavin

  Hi devs, I'm trying to build a microphone audio streamer to iPhone. The server software will be a mac desktop app and the client will be iPhone, and they are connected via tcp port. I've successfully connected the mac app and iPhone, and tried to send a fixed test.m4a audio file first. But at the iPhone i grabbed the data well, when tried to play it i used AVAudioPlayer and its returning OSStatus error. I played around with the audio queue service but its very tricky and i only got some example for fixed length audio playing like http://cocoawithlove.com/2009/06/revisiting-old-post-streaming-and.html Now i need help on two things, how can i continuously grab audio data from Mac desktop microphone? And then after grabbing the data how i can play this unfixed length audio data in the iPhone. What exactly i need to do? Please please help me on this......

  Hello all , I have developed a simple location aware iPhone application which is functionally working very well to our expectations except in the low memory condition of the phone . In low memory condition of the phone my app just got crashes and If I increases the phone memory by freeing up some space it again start working well without any crash . when I do some googling on the problem I found that in the low memory conditions the os will send didReceiveMemoryWarning to all the controllers in the current hierarchy so that each one of them should implement didReceiveMemoryWarning method and also set nil to iboutlet for the view that is currently not visible . I have also read somewhere that if the view for that controller is not visible the method setView with nil parameter will be called and if there are some outlet variables attached to view there will be problem in removing them. So with all these fundas what is the best to handle low level memory condition raised by the Iphone by implementing the didReceiveMemoryWarning and viewDidUnload methods. Please give a proper example or link if possible for the solution of the above problem . thanks.

  Hi everyone, I'm trying to e-mail a html table, that has links within it. But when I receive the e-mail, it just shows me the html code itself. I'm using PHP pear to send the email. I try constructing a string like so $body = "<table>"; $body = $body . "<tr><td><a href='http://google.ca'>Google</a></td></tr>"; $body = $body . "</table>"; then e-mailing it, but when I receive the e-mail, it comes like this <table><tr><td><a href='http://google.ca'>Google</a></td></tr></table> Any suggestions? Thanks!

• How does the same origin policy apply to IP addresses

  I have a server on our company intranet that runs JBoss. I want to send API calls to this server from my machine, also on the intranet, and get the resulting XML responses using JQuery. I read the entry on Wikipedia but am confused how that applies to my situation, since our machines only have IP addresses, not domain names. I have server URL: 10.2.200.3:8001/serviceroot/service client IP address: 10.2.201.217 My questions are: As far as I understand these are different domains, right? So I have to use a proxy to issue JQuery.ajax calls to the server If I want to avoid doing (2), can I install Apache on the server and server the page with JS code form there? But then the JS will be from 10.2.200.3 and the server is at 10.2.200.3:8001. Aren't these considered different domains according to policy? Thanks!

• How do I insert into a unique key into a table?

  I want to insert data into a table where I don't know the next unique key that I need. I'm not sure how to format my INSERT query so that the value of the Key field is 1 greater than the maximum value for the key in the table. I know this is a hack, but I'm just running a quick test against a database and need to make sure I always send over a Unique key. Here's the SQL I have so far: INSERT INTO [CMS2000].[dbo].[aDataTypesTest] ([KeyFld] ,[Int1]) VALUES ((SELECT Max([KeyFld]) FROM [dbo].[aDataTypesTest]) + 1 ,1) which errors out with: Msg 1046, Level 15, State 1, Line 5 Subqueries are not allowed in this context. Only scalar expressions are allowed. I'm not able to modify the underlying database table. What do I need to do to ensure a unique insert in my INSERT SQL code?

• PHP SOAP client accessing server on non-standard port

  The service I'm trying to send requests to is accessible via a non-standard port - so not port 80. It is accessible locally via port 80. So I've tested the app locally and it works fine. But when I deploy it on the production server (not on the LAN), it fails. Once again for clarity: -dev server is on the LAN -SOAP server is on the LAN -production server is on the WAN -SOAP server is accessible through the NAT/FW via a non-standard http port (not 80) The soap client is created with the specified WSDL URI. For example: $this->client = new Zend_Soap_Client('http://server.com:10080/path/service.asmx?WSDL'); But queries to not work: $this->client->function($query); I get an: Internal Server Error Exception thrown. Is PHP broken in this regard? Is there a workaround?

• using WP_Query with custom SQL in wordpress

  Hi. I am writing a plugin for wordpress and I want to create my own search. I have tried to alter the wordpress search, but what I am doing is very specific with the SQL query. I am comparing lat and long coordinates and getting posts based on that. I can display posts by using the standard wpdb query, but then I don't get the other features like paging. I'd like to be able to use my SQL statement with the WP_Query function. If I'm right in thinking, I should then be able to use the paging and other features which come from the $posts global variable. Is this right?? I've googled for hours but can't find anything for plugins outside of using args to select categories etc. I simply need to send a complete SQL command - nothing else. Many thanks....

  Hi all, I am currently using Quartz Scheduler for asynchronous tasks such as sending an email when an exception occurs, sending an email from the web interface, or periodically analyzing traffic. Should I use a message queue for sending an email? Is it any more efficient or correct to do it that way? The scheduler approach works just fine. If I use a queue and the email failed to send, is it possible for the queue to retry sending the email at a later time? The queue approach looks simpler than the scheduler for tasks that need to happen immediately, but for scheduler tasks, the scheduler still, unless there is more to the queue than I am aware of. I have not yet used JMS, so this is what I have read. Walter

While, it is very helpful and I recommend it strongly, I was wondering how to get more more concise/informative/useful emails instead of just the tail of the ant build log.   I need to upload an image to a remote PHP server which expects the following parameters in HTTPPOST: *$_POST['title']* *$_POST['caption']* *$_FILES['fileatt']* Most of the internet searches suggested either : Download the following classes and trying MultiPartEntity to send the request: apache-mime4j-0.5.jar httpclient-4.0-beta2.jar httpcore-4.0-beta3.jar httpmime-4.0-beta2.jar OR Use URLconnection and handle multipart data myself. Btw, I am keen on using HttpClient class rather than java.net(or is it android.net) classes. Eventually, I downloaded the Multipart classes from the Android source code and used them in my project instead. Though this can be done by any of the above mentioned methods, I'd like to make sure if these are the only ways to achieve the said objective. I skimmed through the documentation and found a FileEntity class but I could not get it to work. What is the correct way to get this done in an Android application? Thanks.

  If I have a list of objects IEnumerable<MyType> myTypes; Is it possible for me to return this to the client as JSON return Json(myTypes); and if so, is it possible for me to convert this (now JSON format) list to a when it gets to the client? Is there any jQuery plugin to do this? The thing is, there's loads of other stuff I need to send as JSON also, so generating a table with a PartialView and embedding that into the JSON is a extra complexity that I'd like to avoid. Being a Django n00b, I'm trying to figure out how to implement a flow like this: User signs up using django-registation with 'active' flag set to 0 After registering, send user to PayPal for a subscription When they come back from PayPal successfully, I want to set 'active' to 1 I've been looking at the django-registration documentation and don't quite understand how to use different backends or implement a flow the way I want. Any tips on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. django-paypal won't be a problem for me as I've done PayPal integration before (in PHP for a self-published book about CakePHP).

• Error connecting to online fossil repository after changing password.

  I set up a fossil repository on a shared hosting account I have. I created a perl script fossil.pl that points to a cloned repository that I put up on the webspace. I set all the correct permissions (755). When I go to fossil.pl I get the web ui. Everythings cool. However I'm having a problem with pushes and hoping someone could point me to a solution. When I clone a repository it sets a new password for me (Toby) in the new cloned repository. If I push to this repository online without changing the password it works fine, I can push up changes from my local machine to the online repository. However once I change the password for Toby (to something more easily remembered by me) I get the following error. Bytes Cards Artifacts Deltas Send: 1810 9 0 2 1Server Error: not authorized to write fossil: server says: not authorized to write Anyone know why this is happening? Anyone know how to fix it?

If I have a look in the soap request there is now header tag . Why not?
