  • Convert Doxygen to XML comments

    - by jmster
We have a C# project which for historical reasons uses both Doxygen and Visual Studio style comments in the same code. Has anyone tried to systematically translate one standard to another, preferably to the common XML subset? I guess it would not be too difficult to write a script to cover the most common features, but I would not like to reinvent the wheel.

  • Aptana generating strange error.

    - by RPK
I just added PDT plugin to Aptana Studio 2.0. When I create a new PHP project and add a blank PHP file, Aptana displays following strange error. I am not following from where it is fetching this "Job Title" thing when I have not added anything in my PHP project.

  • webbrowser disable script debugging in Visual Basic 6

    - by me4245
Hi, I want to disable script errors from popping up in a VB6 application. (I have VB6 installed on this machine). Currently, if I navigate to a particular page, it pops up saying "INternet Explorer Script Error: An error has ocurred in the script on this page" ... "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" Setting the webbrowser1.silent to 'true' does not work. Instead all that happens, is instead of displaying an error message, it starts up the actual 'script' debugger, and then exits the program. On a machine without the (visual studio) debugger, it still pops up a message asking to use the debugger, i.e., on Vista, (when silent is set to true). Manually changing the 'disable script debugging (other)' (and regular one), doesn't seem to working in MSIE (also testing version 6.0 for xp users). How do I disable script errors? Thanks in advance!

  • Project References DLL version hell

    - by Mr Shoubs
We're having problems getting visual studio to pick up the latest version of a DLL from one of our projects. We have multiple class library projects (e.g. BusinessLogic, ReportData) and a number of web services, each has a reference to a Connectivity DLL we've written (this ref to the connectivity DLL is the problem). We always point references to the DLL in the bin/debug folder, (which is where we always build to for any given project) and all custom DLL references have CopyLocal = True and SpecificVersion = False ReportData has a reference to business logic (which also has a reference to connectivity - I don't see why this should cause a problem, but thought it is worth mentioning) The weird thing is, when you click "Add Reference" and browse to Connectivity/bin/debug - you hover the mouse over the DLL file, the correct (latest) version is shown (version and file version are always incremented together), but when you click ok, a previous version number is pulled though. Even when I look in the current projects debug folder (where copy local would put the DLL after compiling) that shows the latest version number. - NO WHERE does can I find the previous version of the DLL outside of visual studio, but in that project references it has the old version - even though the path is correct. I'm at a loss as to where it might be getting the old versions from. Or even why it wants that one. This is possibly the most frustraighting problem I have ever come across. Does anyone know how to ensure the latest version is pulled through (preferably automatically or on compile). EDIT: Although not exactly the scenario I'm dealing with I was reading this article and somewhere it mentions about CLR ignoring revision numbers. Understandable (even though this hasn't been a problem before - we're on revision 39), so I thought I would update the build number, still didn't work. In a vain attempt I though I would update the minor version number and see if that made any difference. I'm not saying this is the answer as I have to check quite a few things first, but on the face of it, this seems to have solved my problem... Further edit: In other class libraries this seems to have solved the problem, however in a test windows application it still pulls a previous version through :( If I increment the minor version number again, the same problem come back and I am left with the wrong version being pulled though. Further Edit - I created an entirly new project, added a reference and still had the exact same problem. This suggests the problem is restriced to the project I am referencing. Wish I knew why! Anyone had this problem before and know how to get around it? HELP!

  • Unit testing .Net CF apps on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 in Visual Studio 2008

    - by Johann Gerell
Did anyone get that to work? I mean, unit testing .Net CF apps on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 in Visual Studio 2008. It works great for a WM 6 Pro target, but not for a WM 6.5.3 target. I get this error: The test adapter ('Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.TestTypes.Unit.UnitTestAdapter, Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Tips.UnitTest.Adapter, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a') required to execute this test could not be loaded. Check that the test adapter is installed properly. Not enough storage is available to process this command. Yes, I can read the error text, but I don't understand the failed run. Any clues?

  • Can't attach to Silverlight application with VS2010

    - by Budda
Few days ago all was ok: when I started my web-site with Silverlight 4.0 application with F5 in Visual Studio debugger was connecting to Silverlight automatically, but now it doesn't. I've tried to attach manually from "Debug"-"Attach to process" with "Attach to" option set into "Silverlight code" value. But my breakpoints are still "disabled"... Why? How can I resolve that? Thanks.

  • Compile error with acml.h

    - by Aslan986
I'm having some problem compiling a Visual Studio 2008 project in which I use acml.h. I correctly installed amcl package on my computer, version 5.1.0-ifort64. I added the reference to the acml.h directory in Visual Studio Compiler Properties, but when i try to compile i get these errors: 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1510) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1510) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ';' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1510) : warning C4091: '': ignorato a sinistra di 'char' quando non si dichiara alcuna variabile 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1510) : error C2143: errore di sintassi: ';' mancante prima di ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1510) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1510) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1675) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1675) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ';' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1675) : warning C4091: '': ignorato a sinistra di 'char' quando non si dichiara alcuna variabile 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1675) : error C2143: errore di sintassi: ';' mancante prima di ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1675) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(1675) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3511) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3511) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ';' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3511) : warning C4091: '': ignorato a sinistra di 'char' quando non si dichiara alcuna variabile 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3511) : error C2143: errore di sintassi: ';' mancante prima di ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3511) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3511) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3676) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ')' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3676) : error C2144: errore di sintassi: 'char' deve essere preceduto da ';' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3676) : warning C4091: '': ignorato a sinistra di 'char' quando non si dichiara alcuna variabile 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3676) : error C2143: errore di sintassi: ';' mancante prima di ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3676) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ',' 1>C:\AMD\acml5.1.0\ifort64_mp\include\acml.h(3676) : error C2059: errore di sintassi: ')' I apologize for italian language; however they are all sintax errors. • Working with .NET Project Files and Schemas?

    - by Mitchel Sellers
I'm working on a project that will require me to take various .vbproj and .csproj files and determine which version of Visual Studio they were built with and then to get information such as the output dll name etc. Does anyone know if there is a schema available for these files? Google and MSDN searches are coming up a bit blank.

  • C# Putting the required DLLs somewhere other than the root of the output

    - by aip.cd.aish
I am using EmguCV for a project and when our program runs it needs some dlls like "cxcore.dll" etc. (or it throws runtime exceptions). At the moment, I put the files in the root of the output folder (selected "Copy Always" in the file's properties in Visual Studio). However it looks a bit messy, to have about 10 different dlls just there. Is there someway where I can move it to a subfolder in the output folder and it'll still find it.

  • Decent simple SQL Server client

    - by John
Hi, does anyone know of a very simple SQL Server client tool - that does the same basic functions as Management Studio (i.e. choose a database and run a query - doesn't need an Object Explorer, or anything fancy)? Ideally it would be great to have a single exe or zip file version that I could take around on a USB key - anything to avoid installing the full set of SQL Server client tools all the time! Thanks, John

  • Displaying RichText in Crystal Reports

    - by KevB
I have a report created in Crystal (the version that comes with Visual Studio 2005) that contains an IFieldObject that I want to use to display some rich text. I have set the TextFormat of the IFieldObject to crRTFText, however when I run the report the textbox displays all the rtf markup rather than actually displaying the formatted text. Is there some other settings that need to be changed in order for Crystal to display rich text?

  • Referencing assemblies created with ILMerge in Visual Studio projects

    - by Daniel Schaffer
I have a solution in Visual Studio with 5 projects. They are: Foo.Core: Core functionality Foo.Api: Generated code built on top of core Foo.Web: Web-specific extensions Foo.Web.Mvc: MVC-specific extensions Newtonsoft.Json: 3rd party library I want to use ILMerge to merge Foo.Core, Foo.Api and Newtonsoft.Json into a single assembly, called Foo. That's the easy part. The problem I'm running into is that Foo.Web and Foo.Web.Mvc both need to reference all three of the merged assemblies. If I reference the original assemblies, they will have invalid references after I do the ILMerge. If I reference the ILMerged assembly, I have to reference a debug assembly and then change it before I package everything up, which doesn't seem ideal. I've tried creating a project called Foo, which references the 3 merged assemblies and replaces its own output with the ILmerged assembly, but that doesn't seem to work at all. Is there a reliable way to do this?

  • Building Visual studio like application, need inputs..

    - by akjoshi
Hi, I am working on a Visual studio like application i.e. hava a tolbox, an editor and property grid similar to VS. ser can drag and drop the controls(custom and third party) to the editor window and perform operations like resize, move, align, group etc.; Properties of that control needs to be displayed in property grid and user can update them from there. As per my current understanding I will have to extend the Canvas to create my own editor and and Interface for controls which it supports; Each supported control will have to implemnt this interface so that it can be placed in our editor. Something similar to this - http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/WPFDiagramDesigner_Part4.aspx Looking forward for any kind of help, comment or links.

  • Invoking cl.exe (MSVC compiler) in Cygwin shell

    - by barcarole
I'm heavily using Cygwin (with Putty shell). But, it's quite tricky to invoke cl.exe (i.e., Visual C++ compiler toolchain) in the Cygwin bash shell. Running vcvars*.bat in the bash shell doesn't work obviously. I tried to migrate VC++'s environment variables to Cygwin, but it's not that easy. Is there anyone who ever tried to run VC++ compiler in Cygwin bash shell? Thanks, JJ

  • Removing Design Outlining

    - by Kevin
Is there a way to remove the outlining in Visual Studio in the design page of a form? If it is possible, it would save me some time so that I would not have to keep compiling and running the program every time I wanted to see if I put my form together correctly without any caps between images, etc. For example, something like this. I want to remove the lines that surround each image (yes, those are separate images put together).

  • How can one prevent MSBuild from rebuilding the entire project even when all targets are up to date?

    - by Billy ONeal
I've got a Visual Studio solution I'd like to build using the commandline. MSBuild is usable for this purpose, and I've done a simple batch file that looks like this: msbuild ..\DDSCPP.sln /p:Configuration=Release /p:Platform=Win32 msbuild ..\DDSCPP.sln /p:Configuration=Release /p:Platform=x64 Unfortunately, that causes my entire solution to be rebuilt each time the command is run, rather than only building what has changed. Am I missing something here?

  • Which one is more popular?

    - by atch
Which of IDE's I'm more likely to meet in an office? Borland or Visual Studio? I wouldn't ask this question here (I could use google and type which is better) only for a reason that in my previous cariere as an engineer I worked (and most of my friends) all the time on AutoCAD not on Microstation even though Microstation had always been better software (stability, conforming to standards, ease of use etc.). Thanks for answers.
