  • hibernate sybase db power function

    We are trying to use sybase function power to do mathematical calculation for one of the DB columns. The hibernate is generating power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale) whereas sybase supports power function as Syntax POWER( numeric-expression-1, numeric-expression-2 ) We have tried modifying the hibernate.dialect. Have tried org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseASE15Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.Sybase11Dialect org.hibernate.dialect.SybaseAnywhereDialect but all dialects generate the power function as pow(?, xyzo0_.AmtScale). Is this hibernate issue or are we missing something?

  • Rails Deployment: moving static files to S3

  • 9patch border issues

    Is there a trick to making 9patch images with single pixel borders? I'm not talking about the single pixel black borders that you use to define the stretchable and content areas. I'm talking about the image itself. If I create an image that has a 1 pixel border around it, often times android will pick one of the edges and stretch it to 2 (or sometimes more) pixels, even though I specifically left the edges out of the stretchable area in the draw9patch utility.

    This question is linked with the answers in the following question: Error removing Bitmaps[Android] Is there any advantage of using Drawable over Bitmap in Android in terms of memory de-allocation ? I was looking at Romain Guy project Shelves and he uses SoftReference for images caches but I'm unable to search where is the code which is de-allocating these Drawables when SoftReference automatically reclaims the memory for Bitmap. As far as I know .recycle() has to be explicitly called on the Bitmap for it to be de-allocated.

  • How to intercept 401 from Forms Authentication in ASP.NET MVC?

    I would like to generate a 401 page if the user does not have the right permission. The user requests a url and is redirected to the login page (I have deny all anonymous in web.config). The user logs in successfully and is redirected to the original url. However, upon permission check, it is determined that the user does not have the required permission, so I would like to generate a 401. But Forms Authentication always handles 401 and redirects the user to the login page. To me, this isn't correct. The user has already authenticated, the user just does not have the proper authorization. In other scenarios, such as in ajax or REST service scenario, I definitely do not want the login page - I need the proper 401 page. So far, I've tried custom Authorize filter to return ViewResult with 401 but didn't work. I then tried a normal Action Filter, overriding OnActionExecuting, which did not work either. What I was able to do is handle an event in global.asax, PostRequestHandlerExecute, and check for the permission then write out directly to response: if (permissionDenied) { Context.Response.StatusCode = 401; Context.Response.Clear(); Context.Response.Write("Permission Denied"); Context.Response.Flush(); Context.Response.Close(); return; } That works but it's not really what I want. First of all, I'm not even sure if that is the right event or the place in the pipeline to do that. Second, I want the 401 page to have a little more content. Preferably, it should be an aspx page with possibly the same master page as the rest of the site. That way, anyone browsing the site can see that the permission is denied but with the same look and feel, etc. but the ajax or service user will get the proper status code to act on. Any idea how this can be achieved? I've seen other posts with similar requests but didn't see a solution that I can use. And no, I do not want a 403.

    Suppose I have two lists, how do I iterate through every possible combination of every sublist, such that each item appears once and only once. I guess an example could be if you have employees and jobs and you want split them into teams, where each employee can only be in one team and each job can only be in one team. Eg List<string> employees = new List<string>() { "Adam", "Bob"} ; List<string> jobs = new List<string>() { "1", "2", "3"}; I want Adam : 1 Bob : 2 , 3 Adam : 1 , 2 Bob : 3 Adam : 1 , 3 Bob : 2 Adam : 2 Bob : 1 , 3 Adam : 2 , 3 Bob : 1 Adam : 3 Bob : 1 , 2 Adam, Bob : 1, 2, 3 I tried using the answer to this stackoverflow question to generate a list of every possible combination of employees and every possible combination of jobs and then select one item from each from each list, but that's about as far as I got. I don't know the maximum size of the lists, but it would be certainly be less than 100 and there may be other limiting factors (such as each team can have no more than 5 employees) Update Not sure whether this can be tidied up more and/or simplified, but this is what I have ended up with so far.     Is it possible to get NHibernate to generate a query similar to the following with HQL or Criteria API? select * from ( select row_number() over ( partition by Column1 order by Column2 ) as RowNumber, T.* from MyTable T ) where RowNumber = 1 I can get it to execute the inner select using the formula attribute, but I can't figure out a way to write a HQL or Criteria query that lets me wrap the inner select in the outer one.
