• Change Modul popup every 30 sec Javascript

I need a javascript function which can dynamically shows popup for 20 mins and change in every 30 secs right now i have the following javascript function. • How do I make a shrinkable scrollbar?

  What I want: <div style="overflow:scroll;width:100%;height:50%;"> &nbsp; <div style="height:500px;width:400px;border:solid 3px red;"> </div> </div> <div style="overflow:scroll;width:100%;HEIGHT:50%;"> &nbsp; <div style="height:500px;width:400px;border:solid 3px red;"> </div> </div> Notice how if I shrink the height of the window the scrollbars shrink. This is the functionality I want. The issue: I want to make something similar to the above, only with a fixed height of 100 pixels for the top div. If I do this in practice the bottom scrollbar no longer shrinks as I shrink the page - the system adds an outer scrollbar to manage both sections. I don't want this, I want to retain the behavior seen above. How do I do this?

• Displaying a well formatted table

  Please take a look at the picture below. The header for the second column is displaying DISTRICT under SENATORIAL. But that's not the case for the 2nd and 3rd Rows under the 2nd Column. What I want to achieve is that words/strings should not ba able to extend width of the table.... • Problem keeping CSS footer on bottom

  Hey, I'm having trouble with a relative positioned footer. I'm using a clearfooter div to keep the footer at the bottom of each of my pages. This works fine for all resolutions except for 1440x900, any ideas why this resolution would make the header raise up 10 or so pixels off the bottom? CODE: http://pastie.org/929802

• Internet Explorer 8 doesn't finish downloading the page!

  I'm currently finishing up testing a new Ruby on Rails app. Just recently, some of the pages do not seem to finish downloading in IE8. In FireFox, Chrome and Safari, everything works perfectly. The pages all validate successfully using the W3C validator. When I view the page source in IE8, the page has been chopped off around 75% of the size it should be. IE8 claims the page is finished loading, and doesn't give any errors, but of course the page isn't rendering properly. Has anyone seen this before? I'd really appreciate any help.

• What information about a user is available via PHP?

  This is about a classifieds website, where anyone may post classifieds. I have a security database which I intend to fill with information about the user who posts the classifieds. I intend to record information such as IP, name, tel, email, classified_text, classified_title etc etc. The reason for all this is that sometimes people become victims of fraud (fake classifieds etc). So I wonder, what information is possible to get from the poster which may help in tracking him/her down? IP is a given, but what else could be useful? And I would much like examples of how it would be useful also, as well as the code for it please, like $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']. And btw, I use PHP and have Sql as a database. Thanks

  I use this code to send an email: $headers="MIME-Version: 1.0"."\n"; $headers.="Content-type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8"."\n"; $headers.="From: $name <$email>"."\n"; mail($to, '=?UTF-8?B?'.base64_encode($subject).'?=', $text, $headers, '[email protected]'); If I use special characters Å Ä Ö from the swedish alphabet, they are not encoded properly, so they turn up like ö for ö. However, this doesn't happen if I change the $to variable to a gmail account email, then they are shown correctly. Anybody got any idea? Thanks UPDATE: When I echo $name, the name is displayed correctly, in utf8, with all special chars nicely shown.

• Is it possible to align an element with the bottom of the window, yet make it scrollable, with CSS o

  I have a design going on where I want to align the bottom of an intro paragraph with the bottom of the window, yet make it scroll with the rest of the page. So when the page opens, the visitor sees only the first paragraph (and a full screen background image, which is what I want to focus their attention on), but as they scroll they see the paragraph and the rest of the text. The height of the intro element can vary. Right now I think I have to introduce some javascript to do this - meassure the height of the window, the height of the paragraph, and adjust top: or margin-top of the paragraph to the difference between the two values. If there is a way to make a div have a height that corresponds exactly to the window height, and position the paragraph absolutely inside of this div, the let the rest of the text sit outside of the div, it could work... but I can't seem to make that happen with css. Any suggestions?

I'm looking to float my navigation to the right of its current position around 200px more, there is room but it wont move over.   Assume you have a list item, <li id="foo"> which you want to fade from one color to another when moused over, and that you are using jQuery. This is fairly easy: $('li#foo').bind('mouseenter' , function(e) { $(this).animate({backgroundColor: '#F00'} , 300); }); However, what if you wanted to get the resulting color or other style rules from a class defined in CSS without also declaring them in JavaScript? It seems there's no way to learn style information from CSS rules without having an example of the rule already in the document, which would require you to animate the <li> to the target appearance, then in the animation-finished callback, set the class which leads to redundant style declarations and can foul up your CSS at "runtime". Sorry if this question's unclear: It doesn't occur in the context of any specific project, I'm just curious how you'd go about this. Also, I know CSS3 hypothetically includes support for such transitions but using CSS for dynamic behavior like this seems such an ugly hack.

• Horizontally spacing a row of images evenly

  I have a few rows of images like so <div class="row"> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> <img src="image.jpg" alt=""> </div> Each image has a different width, and there is also a different number of images on each row (4-6). I want to space the images evenly in the row, the row has a fixed width of 960px. I could do this by calculating the total empty space for each row and then dividing it among the images for a margin, but I was hoping there was something simpler that I could apply to every row instead of having to calculate and code a separate one for each row.

• Loading external content with jquery or iframe?

  Hiho, There's an existing website that i need to include into another site which goes like this: a.mysite.com and i need to fetch content from this site in my www.mysite.com website... As i need to access the content of the iframe the Same origin policy produces a problem here. What i did was to configure mod_proxy on Apache to proxy pass all requests from www.mysite.com/a to a.mysite.com This will work fine...but my problem is that im not sure what the best way would be to include those pages. 1. Idea As the content of the iframe is a full featured site with a top navigation...left navigation etc....i would need to change the page template to only show the content box to be able to integrate that page in the iframe. 2. Idea I could just load the DIV where the content lies through JQuery.load() and integrate it into my site. What is the best way to accomplish such a task? How bad is both ideas from the SEO point of view?

  I am trying to make a div that contains other floating divs to adjust its width such that adding more floating divs (dynamically using jQuery) will only expand the div in its width, not allowing the floating divs to create a new line. Therefore, I want to fix this issue such that each div with class grid-row only expands in width, and so I will be able to scroll using the overflow: scroll for the parent grid div. • How do I display/compare a dynamic value of a mysql row in a if statement?

  I have a checkboxes on my site that when unchecked, update their row in in the db as unchecked, and if checked,update their row in the db as checked. I am creating an ifstatement that will commence with its command if checked, and not if unchecked. I have echoed the variable and it is holding the proper value (checked or unchecked) but not sure if I am syntactically correct on displaying the state of the row in the db. • load page with inactive scrollbar

  I have a page that scrolls through images, some taller than the others. When a tall image loads it auto-creates a scrollbar in the browser window, causing a width jerk. Is there a way to load a scroll bar regardless of if it is needed, and when a tall image apears it activates itself accordingly, then deactivates its self accordingly when the image changes to a shorter image? Tag with text can't be inside the DIV. Playing with z-index didn`t help. My browser is IE8.
