  • Trying to get around this Webservice call from Android using AsycTask

    I am a fairly beginner in Android Development. I am developing an application that extensively relays on Webservice calls. First screen takes username and password and validates the user by calling the Webservice. If U/P is valid, then I need to fire up the 2nd activity. In that 2nd activity, I need to do 3 calls. But I haven't gotten to the 2nd part yet. In fact, I haven't completed the full coding yet. But I wanted to test if the app is working as far as I've come through. When calling webserivce, I am showing alert dialog. But the app is crashing somewhere. The LoginActivity shows up. When I enter U/P and press Login Button, it crashes.   • Get info for remote audio files

    to get metadata for audio file i can use: NSDictionary *aMetadata = [aPath MDIAttributes:[aPath allMDIAttributesNames]]; but it doesn't work with remote files, in case of images i solved this problem with CGImageSourceRef and so on functions. Does anybody know something like this for audio files?

  • jQuery library to autopopulate multiple fields

    I have multiple textboxes with set character limits that together make up a code. There is value in the boxes being separated for a variety of reasons. I want to be able to paste a complete code in the first textbox and have it automatically populate all the textboxes. Is there a way to do this in javascript or a jquery library for this case? Currently I'm using jQuery autotab on each textbox and I'd prefer to keep that functionality.

  • Should Javascript's "for in" construct iterate the length property?

    I'm making a bookmarklet, but I've encountered some wierd behaviour in IE8. The code causing the problem is this: var els = document.getElementById("my_id").getElementsByTagName("*"); for(var i in els) { alert(i+","+els[i]) } The first thing that is alerted is "length, n". This isn't the case in chrome: just in IE8. Interestingly, it seems to behave differently depending on whether the code goes in the console/address bar or the page itself. Is this standard behaviour?

    I created in my app 2 toolbars. Because I wanted to be able to drag them, I put both TToolBar components inside a TControlBar. I this case I can move them, but I want to be able to drag them like in MS Office (drag a toolbar from top and put it left, right or at bottom of the window and save it's position)....     hi, i have a blog application were Post belongsTo Category and Category hasMany Post Post can have a Category or not - in latter case NULL value is present in Post.category_id field. Now i would like to have following category count with single SQL query category|post_count -------------- PHP | 2 JavaScript | 4 SomeOtherCat | 1 NULL | 3 The clue here is that i also want to count posts without category (NULL row above).   • thresholding to distinguish small features in noisy data

    Hi, I'm wondering what type of threshold would work well for distinguishing features that are very small (small in the xy sense) in comparison with the full spread, if that makes sense. The graythresh() function in Matlab that uses the Otsu method doesn't work too well for my data. Otsu is a clustering method where I think the # of pixels should be similar in each class, which is not the case for me so when I employ it I get a threshold that is way too small and falls well within a lot of the background noise that remains even after filtering.

    Let's say I have an array in Matlab: x = [1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 2 2 3 3 3 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 3 3 3] I want the indices of the most recent set of consecutive '1's. In this case, I want the answer: answer = [16 17 18 19 20] % (which should correspond to the last sequence of 1's) I need an automated way to do this in Matlab, that will work with any size arrays, always giving me the indices for the last set of consecutive 1s. Any suggestions?

  • How do you label output variables in an IDL FOR loop for further processing outside the loop in the same program?

    I have a FOR loop like this: FOR k = 1,216 DO atom = G[,0::(215+k)] END What I would like to be able to do is to store in memory the array for each atom, say, atom_k and then call these different variables to perform further operations outside the FOR loop. Conceptually, I want to label the "atom" variable with the "k" counter somewhat like this: FOR k = 1,216 DO atom(k) = G[,0::(215+k)] END Of course, this doesn't work because "k" is no longer a label in this case. Does anyone know?
