    Hey Everyone, I've got what I'm hoping is a simple question. In the Delphi IDE, the path to the Delphi installation is specified as $(DELPHI). I am wondering if there is a way to create my own path indicators, such as $(MY_LIBRARY) or something similar. I thought $(DELPHI) was specified as an environment variable, but apparently not.     Hi, Is there a light weight version of SQL Server I could use that has the characteristics of: Free (assuming my winforms app is semi-commercial) Can be seemlessly packaged for deployment as part of the winforms click-once application? (i.e. ease in installation for the user). Light weight for the user (ideally something that just runs when the winforms application that uses it is running - but better than using XML sererialization for persistance). Thanks

I want the members be able to add other members as friends, I have created a added friend table. Id, MemberId, Friend_MemberId, DateAdded I want to display a list of Members which are not added to this list (like filter already existing friends), but unable to query using linq, can anyone suggest a way, links, articles, would it be better to extend memebership class.

  • Uninstall exceptions in InstallShield

    Hello, I have a setup project with InstallShield 2010. I'm deploying a configuration file during installation. However, when uninstalled, InstallShield decides to delete it (which is normal). The question is, is there a way to keep the file on the hard disk even after the application in uninstalled? I don't want to reconfigure the application every time the user uninstalls/installs. Edit: I'm using MSI project.

  • Why is TortoiseSVN so slow?

    I'm using TortoiseSVN to connect to my Subversion repository hosted with CVSDude. It's unreasonably slow--especially on small transfers... 5 kBytes transferred in 5 minute(s) and 9 second(s)?! It's not just slow to respond, though. It bogs the computer down for 5 minutes while processing those 5 kilobytes. Could there possibly be anything wrong with my installation or settings? Or, is the blame purely with my Subversion host, CVSDude?

I want to use mx.controls.Button class in it, so I did the following : Added '-locale=en_US -source-path=locale/{locale}' to the Actionscript compiler arguments Added 'framework.swc' to the library path But now I get this error: unable to open 'locale/en_US' I looked up and I do have the following directory inside my Flex Builder 3 installation: ./sdks/3.0.0/frameworks/locale/en_US How to fix it?

  • JSF vs Stripes, which is best?

    Which is best, or in other words, whish is easiest to use? Stripes or JSF. Although I haven't used both in anger I need to gauge what is the best option to work with for both starting new projects and converting existing Struts projects. I have a fear that JSF won't render as nicely as I want but what are others experiences? Seems Stripes is far more straight forward, would I be correct in this assumption? Cheers.

  • Visual Studio 2008 marks solution files as version 10.00

    Hi After trying out VS2010b2 also my VS2008 installation changes the versions of solution and project files to "Version 10.00". The MSBuild.exe on our CI Server does not support them. Is there a way to make VS2008 generate sln files with version number 9.00 again? I know, i can fix that manually. But each time I open a solution, the version gets changed back, which is annoying.   • Why use "DLLSelfRegister" in VB deployment package?

    Why would you use DLLSelfRegister in a VB deployment package? I am trying to sort out possible conflict problems with a calendar control: msacal70.ocx. Apparently there is a conflict with newer Office calendar controls. I noticed the setup.lst for the VB deployment package uses DLLSelfRegister for this control. What are the effects of allowing a DLL to self-register and would removing DLLSelfRegister cause the ocx to register during installation of the package?

    Greetings, I have a custom validation in my exemplary Movie model: class Movie < ActiveRecord::Base validate :it, :on => :create private def it self.errors.add 'foo', 'bar' end end This works on movie creation but also on updating an existing movie. :on => :update will also work for both.   • In Jetty, can NCSARequestLog be configured to auto-detect the time zone?

    It looks as though in 2003 or so NCSARequestLog would pick up the system time zone using TimeZone.getDefault().getID(), but in more recent versions it seems as though it's hard-coded to GMT, unless you override it in jetty.xml or programmatically. If true, this kind of annoying, since it means if you don't want GMT logging you have to edit jetty.xml for every installation (not to mention twice a year for daylight saving time). Is there a workaround that will let Jetty pick the time zone up from the system?
