• trying to override getView in a SimpleCursorAdapter gives NullPointerException

  Would very much appreciate any help or hint on were to go next. I'm trying to change the content of a row in ListView programmatically. In one row there are 3 TextView and a ProgressBar. I want to animate the ProgressBar if the 'result' column of the current row is zero. After reading some tutorials and docs, I came to the conclusion that LayoutInflater has to be used and getView() - overriden. Maybe I am wrong on this. If I return row = inflater.inflate(R.layout.row, null); from the function, it gives NullPointerException. • Right-click context menu for Java JTree?

  I'm trying to implement pop-up menus in Java JTree. I've sub-classed DefaultTreeCellRenderer (to change node appearance) and DefaultTreeCellEditor (to create Components to attach event listeners to, since apparently the Components that DefaultTreeCellRenderer.getTreeCellRendererComponent() returns can't do it?). I don't really want to "edit" the nodes, just be able to pop-up a menu when a node gets right-clicked, but this is the only way I can think of doing it right now... Below is the code that I have so far-- I'm just trying to figure out how to capture MouseEvents. It sort of works, but badly.   I'm receiving a "Ext.data.DataReader: #realize was called with invalid remote-data" error when I create a new record via a POST request. Although similar to the discussion at this SO conversation, my situation is slightly different: My server returns the pk of the new record and additional information that is to be associated with the new record in the grid. My server returns the following: {'success':true,'message':'Created Quote','data': [{'id':'610'}, {'quoteNumber':'1'}]} Where id is the PK for the record in the mysql database. quoteNumber is a db generated value that needs to be added to the created record. • Android "Trying to use recycled bitmap" error?

  Hi all, I am running into a problem with bitmaps on an Android application I am working on. What is suppose to happen is that the application downloads images from a website, saves them to the device, loads them into memory as bitmaps into an arraylist, and displays them to the user. This all works fine when the application is first started. However, I have added a refresh option for the user where the images are deleted, and the process outlined above starts all over. My problem: By using the refresh option the old images were still in memory and I would quickly get OutOfMemoryErrors. Thus, if the images are being refreshed, I had it run through the arraylist and recycle the old images. However, when the application goes to load the new images into the arraylist, it crashes with a "Trying to use recycled bitmap" error. As far as I understand it, recycling a bitmap destroys the bitmap and frees up its memory for other objects. If I want to use the bitmap again, it has to be reinitialized. I believe that I am doing this when the new files are loaded into the arraylist, but something is still wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated as this is very frustrating. The problem code is below.   Hello, I would like to pass the multiple arguments with positive or negative values. Is it possible to parse it? Currently I have a following initialization: vector<int> IDlist; namespace po = boost::program_options; po::options_description commands("Allowed options"); commands.add_options() ("IDlist",po::value< vector<int> >(&IDlist)->multitoken(), "Which IDs to trace: ex. --IDlist=0 1 200 -2") ("help","print help") ; and I would like to call: ./test_ids.x --IDlist=0 1 200 -2 unknown option -2 So,the program_options assumes that I am passing -2 as an another option. This datagrid shows item already in collection (before DataGrid.DataContext applied) but not showing new item added. I am using List< instead of ObservableCollection< because I want to update items if user changes quantity. I don't know how to do that using ObservableCollection<. Some code will help thanks

• Problem with Rotating a UIScrollview

  Hey guys, I am having issues trying to get the pageControl sample code to work with rotation. I managed to get it to rotate but it does not visually loads correctly until I start to scroll (then it works fine). Any Idea on how I can fix this problem? • What are the reasons why the CPU usage doesn’t go 100% with C# and APM?

  I have an application which is CPU intensive. When the data is processed on a single thread, the CPU usage goes to 100% for many minutes. So the performance of the application appears to be bound by the CPU. I have multithreaded the logic of the application, which result in an increase of the overall performance. However, the CPU usage hardly goes above 30%-50%. I would expect the CPU (and the many cores) to go to 100% since I process many set of data at the same time. Below is a simplified example of the logic I use to start the threads. When I run this example, the CPU goes to 100% (on an 8/16 cores machine). The best way I found was to create a context in which a thread can read/write in memory. Contexts are not shared among other threads. The threads can’t access the database, files or network. In other words, I profiled my application and I didn’t find any bottleneck. Why the CPU usage of my application doesn’t go about 50%? Is it the pattern I use? Should I create my own thread instead of using the .Net thread pool? Is there any gotchas? Is there any tool that you could recommend me to find my issue? Thanks!

• mySQL auto increment problem: Duplicate entry '4294967295' for key 1

  I have a table of emails. The last record in there for an auto increment id is 3780, which is a legit record. Any new record I now insert is being inserted right there. However, in my logs I have the occasional: Query FAIL: INSERT INTO mail.messages (timestamp_queue) VALUES (:time); Array ( [0] => 23000 [1] => 1062 [2] => Duplicate entry '4294967295' for key 1 ) Somehow, the autoincrement jumped up to the INT max of 4294967295 Why on god's green earth would this get jumped up so high? I have no inserts with an id field. The show status for that table, Auto_increment table now reads: 4294967296 How could something like this occur? I realize the id field should perhaps be a big int, but the worry I have is that somehow this thing jumps back up. Josh

• How to avoid circular relationship in SQL-Server?

  I am creating a self-related table: Table Item columns: ItemId int - PK; Amount money - not null; Price money - a computed column using a UDF that retrieves value according to the items ancestors' Amount. ParentItemId int - nullable, reference to another ItemId in this table. I need to avoid a loop, meaning, a sibling cannot become an ancestor of his ancestors, meaning, if ItemId=2 ParentItemId = 1, then ItemId 1 ParentItemId = 2 shouldn't be allowed. I don't know what should be the best practice in this situation. I think I should add a CK that gets a Scalar value from a UDF or whatever else. EDIT: Another option is to create an INSTEAD OF trigger and put in 1 transaction the update of the ParentItemId field and selecting the Price field from the @@RowIdentity, if it fails cancel transaction, but I would prefer a UDF validating. Any ideas are sincerely welcomed.

After completing three chapters and starting fourth (ActionScript), and not having enough patience to wait till completing chapter 22 I started to practice :) One bit that I have most worries about right now is the the dual coding mode (MXML vs ActionScript) Please have a look at my code below (it compiles via mxmlc design.mxml, second file 'code.as' should be in same directory) and advise if the separation I used between visual design and code is appropriate. Also - if some smart guy could show me how to recode same example with *.as being a class file [package?] it would be highly appreciated.   I am trying to loop through a bitmap and determine if each pixel is lighter or darker than gray using getPixel(). Problem is, I am not sure how to tell whether the value returned by getPixel() is darker or lighter than gray. Neutral gray is about 0x808080 or R:127, G:127, B:127.   hi I hve this code struct Student { char name[48]; float grade; int marks[10,5]; char gender; }; Student s; Now I have to get the sizeof s so i added printf("%d",sizeof(s)); now when I hit compile the result showing is 256 and its wrong because it shoud be 253 as because the size of char name[48]; ---- 48 and float grade; ----- 4 and int marks[10,5]; ------ 200 and char gender; -------1 so 48+4+200+1 = 253 so why its telling me 256 ??
