• Xuggler errors as soon as you import git

  I downloaded the Git straight into Eclipse for Xuggler (Here is the git). But as soon as it loads, there are so many errors I don't know what to do. Most of the errors are "cannot be resolved" type errors.   I want to bring a .dll dependency into my Qt project. So I added this to my .pro file: win32 { LIBS += C:\lib\dependency.lib LIBS += C:\lib\dependency.dll } And then (I don't know if this is the right syntax or not) #include <windows.h> Q_DECL_IMPORT int WINAPI DoSomething(); btw the .dll looks something like this: #include <windows.h> BOOL APIENTRY DllMain(HANDLE hModule, DWORD ul_reason_for_call, LPVOID lpReserved) { return TRUE; } extern "C" { int WINAPI DoSomething() { return -1; } }; Getting error: unresolved symbol? Note: I'm not experienced with .dll's outside of .NET's ez pz assembly architechture, definitely a n00b.

  I have a viewmodel that has an int StateID field and a string StateName field like so: public class DepartmentViewModel : BaseViewModel, IModelWithId { // only show in edit mode public int StateId { get; set; } // only show in display mode public string StateName { get; set; } } I have a read only view that uses DisplayForModel and an update view that uses EditorForModel. I want the DisplayForModel view to show the StateName property, and the EditorForModel view use the StateID property (I am actually rendering a dropdownlist based on this). I have not been able to figure out how to decorate my viewmodel properties to create this behavior.

  I'm want a IDictionary<float, foo> that returns the larges values of the key first. private IDictionary<float, foo> layers = new SortedDictionary<float, foo>(new AscendingComparer<float>()); class AscendingComparer<T> : IComparer<T> where T : IComparable<T> { public int Compare(T x, T y) { return -y.CompareTo(x); } } However, this returns values in order of the smallest first. I feel like I'm making a stupid mistake here. Just to see what would happen, I removed the - sign from the comparator: public int Compare(T x, T y) { return y.CompareTo(x); } But I got the same result. This reinforces my intuition that I'm making a stupid error.

  Hi, I'm making a form at the bottom of the screen and I want it to slide upwards so I wrote the following code: int destinationX = (Screen.PrimaryScreen.WorkingArea.Width / 2) - (this.Width / 2); int destinationY = Screen.PrimaryScreen.WorkingArea.Height - this.Height; this.Location = new Point(destinationX, destinationY + this.Height); while (this.Location != new Point(destinationX, destinationY)) { this.Location = new Point(destinationX, this.Location.Y - 1); System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(100); } but the code just runs through and shows the end position without showing the form sliding in which is what I want. I've tried Refresh, DoEvents - any thoughts?

  I am trying to spawn a thread to take care of DoWork task that should take less than 3 seconds. Inside DoWork its taking 15 seconds. I want to abort DoWork and transfer the control back to main thread. I have copied the code as follows and its not working. Instead of aborting DoWork, it still finishes DoWork and then transfers the control back to main thread.   Hello all, I have this really annoying problem: In my widget, i would like to change the background by code. I noticed on the Google doc than I can easily change the background of an Imageview: remoteViews.setImageViewResource(R.id.my_iv, R.drawable.my_bg); Ok, too easy, i want to change now the Linear layout.. What I read about the remoteview id that I can change a Bitmap, Int, Bool, String, etc... but not a drawable. So i guess i cannot use: remoteViews.setBitmap(R.id.my_ll,"setBackgroundDrawable",BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawablemy_bg)); I am totally disapointed and tried a last idea: views.setInt(R.id.my_ll,"setBackgroundResource",R.drawable.my_bg); But The logcat told me: android.widget.RemoteViews$ActionException:view: android.widget.LinearLayout can't use method with RemoteViews: setBackgroundResource(int) I am totally lost and I really don't know what to do... I'd like to take advantage of the new (4.0, 5.0) iOS SDK features, but I can't as my old build of GCC doesn't understand the ^ block syntax. I noticed that blocks are just of type id (struct objc_object *). I know this from two resources: first, class-dump reports them as id, second, Apple docs clarify that "blocks can be retained". My quiestion is, how can I take advantage of blocks using this knowledge? I thought of something like: // this is in SDK 4.x/5.x - (void) doSomethingWithBlock:((int)(^block)(int)); // and I modify it like: - (void) doSomethingWithBlock(id)block; the question is: HOW TO ACTUALLY CALL IT? How do I create blocks? I can, of course, create function pointers (IMPs in particular), but how to achieve the object-like memory layout?

  I'm getting this error when creating a bitmap context: CGBitmapContextCreate: unsupported parameter combination: 8 integer bits/component; 24 bits/pixel; 3-component color space; kCGImageAlphaNone; 7936 bytes/row. Here's the code (note that the context is based on the parameters of an existing CGImage: context = CGBitmapContextCreate(NULL, (int)pi.bufferSizeRequired.width, (int)pi.bufferSizeRequired.height, CGImageGetBitsPerComponent(imageRef), 0, CGImageGetColorSpace(imageRef), CGImageGetBitmapInfo(imageRef)); Width is 2626, height is 3981. I've leaving bytesPerRow at zero so that it gets calculated automatically for me, and it's chosen 7936 of its own accord. So, where on Earth is the inconsistency? It's driving me nuts.

  I have a problem, I have written a simple Media Player for Windows Phone 7 and can Play, Stop and control the Volume of a Video (loaded from a URI) however when I try to set the position, this causes the application to freeze. I have used both these lines, but either does not work: Player.Position = new TimeSpan(0, 0, 0, 0, (int)Position.Value); Player.Position = TimeSpan.FromSeconds((int)(Position.Value)); I do have this event handler: void Player_MediaOpened(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { Position.Maximum = Player.NaturalDuration.TimeSpan.TotalMilliseconds; } And have tried using the Seconds value, casting to Ints etc, however everytime I try to set the Position, the app freezes. The video otherwise plays normally - anyone know what the problem may be here?

• boost's regex won't compile

  Hi everyone. I am using boost 1.45.0 on Ubuntu with Code::Blocks as my IDE, and I can't get basic_regex.hpp to compile. I'm pretty sure I set up boost correctly, because I can compile programs using boost::format without any errors. But I'm getting this annoying error, and I don't know how to get rid of it.   Hi! How do i map this function with JNA: Delphi code: function getData(InData1: PChar; InData2: PChar; Data: TArray16; var OutData1: PChar; var OutData2: PChar): integer; stdcall; with: TArray16 = array[0..15] of char; The int value that is returned can be 0 for Error or 1 for right execution; My suggestion is: Java code: int getData(String inData1, String inData2, byte[] data, byte[] outData1 byte[] outData2); The problem is that the function of the dll returns 0. I also tried other Datatypes, but it hasn't worked jet. I think the problem is that the dll function can't write to the parameters outData1 and outData2. Who can help me?....Thanks!!

  I've been trying to get to mock a method with vararg parameters using Mockito: interface A { B b(int x, int y, C... c); } A a = mock(A.class); B b = mock(B.class); when(a.b(anyInt(), anyInt(), any(C[].class))).thenReturn(b); assertEquals(b, a.b(1, 2)); This doesn't work, however if I do this instead: when(a.b(anyInt(), anyInt())).thenReturn(b); assertEquals(b, a.b(1, 2)); This works, despite that I have completely omitted the varargs argument when stubbing the method. Any clues?

• Foreign key reference to a two-column primary key

  One of my tables has a two-column primary key: CREATE TABLE tournament ( state CHAR(2) NOT NULL, year INT NOT NULL, etc..., PRIMARY KEY(state, year) ); I want a reference to the tournament table from another table, but I want this reference to be nullable. Here's how I might do it, imagining that a winner doesn't necessarily have a tournament: CREATE TABLE winner ( name VARCHAR NOT NULL, state CHAR(2) NULL, year INT NULL ); If state is null but year is not, or vice-versa, the table would be inconsistent. I believe the following FOREIGN KEY constraint fixes it: ALTER TABLE winner ADD CONSTRAINT FOREIGN KEY fk (name, state) REFERENCES tournament (name, state); Is this the proper way of enforcing consistency? Is this schema properly normalized?

  I'm trying to understand whay i get an error on this code: (the error is under g++ unix compiler. It doesn't make sense that i really need to write "A::" every time...
