    In this blog I will demonstrate how we can enable attachments in Oracle Form. The user ask is to capture a job description which will be along text. Oracle Apps has a feature called attachments, through some easy setup we can enable attachments in forms. We will be going to addresscustomer ask through this feature. Step 1 : Identify Form Name First thing you have to do is to identify the form to enable attachment. In this scenario form will be PERWSDJT ( Job form in HRMS ). Step 2 :  Identify Document Entity exists or not. If exists then do nothing otherwise create new. Step 3 : Create Document Categories. Here I will create a category Job Description with Default Data Type Long Text and Application Human Resources.Onceit is done I will assign this to Create Job form. Step: 3 Query Attachment Functions for PERWSDJT.     If you installed OIF 11g on OEL 6.2 64bit and passed all the interesting gotchas but got stumped by this error in the WLS admin logs, and Enterprise Manager refuses to start correctly after what appeared to be a full successful install and configuration:  ...  <User defined listener oracle.sysman.eml.app.ContextInitializer failed: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HTTPClient/ProtocolNotSuppException. java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: HTTPClient/ProtocolNotSuppException     at oracle.sysman.eml.app.ContextInitializer.contextInitialized(ContextInitializer.java:1035) ... Caused By: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: HTTPClient.ProtocolNotSuppException     at weblogic.utils.classloaders.GenericClassLoader.findLocalClass(GenericClassLoader.java:297)     at weblogic.utils.classloaders.GenericClassLoader.findClass(GenericClassLoader.java:270) ... <Error> <Deployer> <BEA-149231> <Unable to set the activation state to true for the application 'em'. weblogic.application.ModuleException:     at weblogic.servlet.internal.WebAppModule.startContexts(WebAppModule.java:1520) ... The problem is the installer fails to properly place a required jar (http_client.jar) in the appropriate location for your WLS domain.   Assuming you have Oracle DB installed on the same server, just copy the jar to the lib folder in your domain, e.g. if your domain is IDMDomain and middleware install location is /u01/Middleware then cp /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db_1/oui/jlib/http_client.jar \   /u01/Middleware/user_projects/domains/IDMDomain/lib and restart your admin WLS.  Enterprise Manager will start to work.  Hopefully this will save others some time while on the bleeding edge...

  • Oracle VDI thin client terminal and Synergy

    I use my main laptop and old SunRay thin client hardware at my office.I set up Synergy for keyboard/mouse/clipboard sharing and I thought I hit this issue.  Bug #3002 - Mouse Pointer Invisible on Client PC - SynergyRDP and a thin client setup I found this workaround. Turning "Display pointer trails" on somehow made mymouse appear on thin client side.  This may or may not work in different kind of Oracle VDI setup or other vendors' thin client.

  • RTOS experience

    I have been working as an embedded software engineer on mostly 8 bit micro-controller firmware and desktop/mobile applications development for the past five years. My work on a WinCE project (in which I got introduced to .NET CF) was short lived. I did use core APIs for interrupt processing, peripheral communication, etc...but again, not exactly a pure RTOS environment. In order to get together more solid experience for growing more in the embedded field, I want to work more with RTOSes. Will buying an evaluation board with an RTOS and putting together a project at home be regarded as a good experience or will an online course be more useful? I am just not clear as to what will be regarded as good experience. Any suggestions or directions will greatly help me. I have a passion for the field but just a need a point in the right direction.

  • Petstore using Java EE 6 ? Almost!

    Antonio Goncalves, a Java Champion, JUG leader, and a well-known author, has started building a Petstore-like application using Java EE 6. The complete end-to-end sample application will build a eCommerce website and follows the Java EE 6 design principles of simple and easy-to-use to its core. Its using several technologies from the platform such as JPA 2.0, CDI 1.0, Bean Validation 1.0, EJB Lite 3.1, JSF 2.0, and JAX-RS 1.1. The two goals of the project are: • use Java EE 6 and just Java EE 6 : no external framework or dependency • make it simple : no complex business algorithm The application works with GlassFish and JBoss today and there are plans to add support for TomEE.
