• Google App Engine 1.3.1 <admin-console> Issue

  I attempted to add an <admin-console> section to my appengine-web.xml and I got the exception below. The <admin-console> element is a valid element according to the appengine-web.xsd. It's also documented in the app engine docs.   Hi! I have a ListView and an adapter that sets alternating background colors to the list items overwriting getView Method in my adapter. I want to go further and I would to set to each row a Resource background. • Why is javac failing on @Override annotation

  Eclipse is adding @Override annotations when I implement methods of an interface. Eclipse seems to have no problem with this. And our automated build process from Cruise Control seems to have no problem with this. But when I build from the command-line, with ant running javac, I get this error: [javac] C:\path\project\src\com\us\MyClass.java:70: method does not override a method from its superclass [javac] @Override [javac] ^ [javac] 1 error Eclipse is running under Java 1.6. Cruise Control is running Java 1.5. My ant build fails regardless of which version of Java I use.

• NSMutable String "Out of scope"

  I have two NSMutableString objects defined in my viewController's (a subclass of UITableViewController) .h file: NSMutableString *firstName; NSMutableString *lastName; They are properties: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableString *firstName; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableString *lastName; I synthesis them in the .m file. In my viewDidLoad method - I set them to be blank strings: firstName = [NSMutableString stringWithString:@""]; lastName = [NSMutableString stringWithString:@""]; firstName and lastName can be altered by the user. In my cellForRowAtIndexPath method, I'm trying to display the contents of these strings: cell.detailTextLabel.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ %@", firstName, lastName]; but this is causing the app to crash as soon as the view controller is displayed. Using the debugger, it seems that both firstName and lastName are "out of scope" or that they don't exist. I'm new to Xcode but the debugger seems to halt at objc_msgSend. What am I doing wrong?

  I am using spring webflow 1.0. I am uploading a csv file, parsing it, and displying results before proceeding. The user has an option to download a csv file that contains the records that did not pass validation. When I click the link in a JSP to download this file, webflow invokes a form Action. The form action writes out a file via getting the output stream off the response: HttpServletResponse response = ((ServletExternalContext) context.getExternalContext()).getResponse(); I do not want to leave the jsp I'm currently on. I just want to download the file. In other words, I do not want to transition to another state. I just want to serve the dynamically rendered file.   I am using jquery load method to update divs , it works great until I test my code under IE6. The problem is : under IE6 , when I click a button to trigger a load method , the page is remaining unchanged until I move my cursor, that means if I click my mouse and keep my hand away from the mouse , the page is unchanged , if I move the mouse , the page is updated. This problem is only occurred under IE6 . IE7 , IE8, Firefox all have no problem. Have you guys ever encountered this kind of problem ?

  I have a collection of Post objects and I want to be able to sort them based on these conditions: First, by category (news, events, labs, portfolio, etc.) Then by date, if date, or by position, if a specific index was set for it Some posts will have dates (news and events), others will have explicit positions (labs, and portfolio). I want to be able to call posts.sort!, so I've overridden <=>, but am looking for the most effective way of sorting by these conditions. Below is a pseudo method: def <=>(other) # first, everything is sorted into # smaller chunks by category self.category <=> other.category # then, per category, by date or position if self.date and other.date self.date <=> other.date else self.position <=> other.position end end It seems like I'd have to actually sort two separate times, rather than cramming everything into that one method. Something like sort_by_category, then sort!. What is the most ruby way to do this?

Ideally, I'd also like to be able to sort the table by name, time, or comments, but that might be getting ahead of myself. So how can I change this list of buttons into a table with clickable rows?

I want to keep the min/max, and general shape of my fitted curve intact, but resolve the inconsistencies in sampling.   What are the best strategies for finding that missing semicolon that's causing the error? Are there automated tools that might help. I'm currently using Visual Studio 2008, but general strategies for any environment would be interesting and more broadly useful. Background: Presently I have a particularly elusive missing semicolon (or brace) in a C++ program that is causing a C2143 error. My header file dependencies are fairly straightforward, but still I can't seem to find the problem. Rather than post my code and play Where's Wally (or Waldo, depending on where you're from) I thought it would be more useful to get some good strategies that can be applied in this and similar situations. As a side-question: the C2143 error is showing up in the first line of the first method declaration (i.e. the method's return type) in a .cpp file that includes only its associated .h file. Would anything other than semicolons or braces lead to this behaviour?

Afaik there is BeanFactoryPostProcessor interface that let us use BeanDefinitionRegistry.registerBeanDefinition() method before beans within context are initialized. That method accepts only a class / definition. But usually one needs to register a bean that is already set with properties. Otherwise the bean definition registration itself is kinda useless. I don't want to set it up additionally after I get it from context then. When using singleton it's ok, but for prototypes I'd have to set the bean up for each getBean() .

  Hello, I need to measure all used GDI objects in a Windows xp system. I found a GetGuiResources(__in HANDLE hProcess, __in DWORD uiFlags) method (with the GR_GDIOBJECTS flag). I call it for the process which I get from the method GetCurrentProcess() defined in WinBase.h. I don't know how to call it for other system processes, which I get by System::Diagnostics::Process::GetProcesses(), because that function returns an array of Process pointers, and GetGuiResources takes a HANDLE. Does anybody know a solution for that? How can I transform Process pointer to a Handle or get HANDLEs for all running system processes? thanks for help in advance!

• Searching Outlook Global Adress List

  I'm pulling up the Global Address List from Outlook like so... Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application oApp = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.Application(); AddressList gal = oApp.Session.GetGlobalAddressList(); ...with the aim of eventually being able to search through this in my own application to retrieve contact information which I can then supply to a method that squirrels off an email. Unfortunately given that my own GAL has about 20K entries in (the customers much more) using a foreach or something simply doesn't work in an acceptable timeframe. I want to pass a string like "Tom" to a method and have it return a list of possible contacts. Is this possible outside of actually opening up Outlook and creating the mail there? Note: There are a couple of other questions similar to this but most seem to have no good answer. I'm hoping I have more luck.

For example: $image_create_func = 'ImageCreateFromGIF'; $newImage = $image_create_func($oldImage); But can we do this in Flex? In flex, I have the string public var key:String = "email" And I also have a value object searchTerm:SearchTermVO which has a public property "email" (searchTerm.email). Now I want to do searchTerm.email by doing something like in php: searchTerm.key but it's not possible. Can anybody help me with this plz? Thank you.

  I would like to 'shrink-to-fit' an std::vector, to reduce its capacity to its exact size, so that additional memory is freed. The standard trick seems to be the one described here: template< typename T, class Allocator > void shrink_capacity(std::vector<T,Allocator>& v) { std::vector<T,Allocator>(v.begin(),v.end()).swap(v); } The whole point of shrink-to-fit is to save memory, but doesn't this method first create a deep copy and then swaps the instances? So at some point -- when the copy is constructed -- the memory usage is doubled? If that is the case, is there a more memory-friendly method of shrink-to-fit? (In my case the vector is really big and I cannot afford to have both the original plus a copy of it in memory at any time.)
