    I am implementing an android application that will verify signature images , decided to go with the Discrete wavelet transform method (symmlet-8) the method requires to apply the discrete wavelet transform and separate the image using low-pass and high-pass filter and retrieve the wavelet transform coefficients. the equations show notations that I cant understand thus can't do the math easily , also didn't know how to apply low-pass and high-pass filters to my x and y points. is there any tutorial that shows you how to apply the discrete wavelet transform to my image easily that breaks it out in numbers? thanks alot in advance.

    I need to implement a method that takes an address split up into individual parts and returns any matching items from an address table. If no matches are found, I want to be able to return a value indicating where it failed. Each input param has a corresponding field in the table. The signature would look something like this: List<Address> MatchAddress(string zipCode, string streetName, string houseNumber, string houseLetter, string floor, string appartmentNo, out int mismatchPosition) { // return matching addresses // if none found, return the position where it stopped matching // zipCode is position 0, appartmentNo is position 5 // // an empty param value indicates "don't check" } I know I can construct the method such that I start with all the parameters, execute the query and then remove param by param (from the right side) until either a match is found or I run out of parameters, but can I construct a query that is more effective than that, i.e minimizing the number of calls to the db, maybe even as a single call?

  • How to control Time zone formatting in System.Xml.Serialization or during application execution?

    I'm developing a C# .Net Application that is executing on a system located in the Central Time Zone. The application gets information from a third party using an API they provide. I have used the WSDL to produce the code that my application access the API with...their reporting API allows you to define a start date and end date for the report. These are C# DateTime fields and XSD:dateTime. Now when I set the start date and end dates and allow the API to create the SOAP messages the dates don't always include a Time Zone unless I set the date fields using the ToLocalTime method; however, the method will create the DateTime fields in the Central Time Zone (CST) but I need to have it create these fields in the Pacific Time Zone (PST). If I set my machine time to PST all is good...but of course that causes other time issues. What methods can I use to control the formatting of the DateTime? Alternatively, is there a application setting that can be set in C# that allows timezone control?

    I have the following form on an .NET MVC View: <form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data" action="/Video/UploadDocument"> <input type="file" id="document1" name="document1"/> <input type="submit" value="Save"/> </form> And the controller has the following signature that gets called: public ActionResult UploadDocument(HttpPostedFileBase file) { return View(); } When I break inside the UploadDocument method, the parameter 'file' is null. I've selected a valid document on my desktop and know it contains text. What am I missing to get this file upload working?

  • property not updating in object when page is posted

    Hi I have set a property in a constructor like so function __construct() { $this->count = count(@$_SESSION['filearray']); //count how many files in array } and using it in condition statements if($this->count > 10) //then do something but it appears the count isn't being updated when I use another method of injecting values into this 'filearray' until I refresh the page. am I doing something wrong? I thought that my constructor would detect a change had been made in the session and whenever I call $this-count I would get the current count value but it seems to be 1 step behind until I refresh the page. If this is all vague I can include my form page that has all the method calls, but this is the jist of my question, why is my property not updating and how do I fix it :) TIA

  • Django-allauth redirected to connections

  • Code editor with autocomplete

    I need to create a code editor for my own simple language: className.MethodName(parameterName = 2, ... ) I've created the appropriate grammar and autogenerate parser using ANTLR tool. Now I would like to have an autocomplete for class, method, variables and parameter names. This list should be context dependent, f.e. for "class." it should display methods and for "class.Method(" - parameters. I was going to parse the text and display the list depending on in which node the cursor is. The problem is that for incomplete code like "aaa.bbb(" the parser produces an error instead of a syntax tree. Any idea how to solve this problem? Maybe I'm on the wrong way and I shouldn't parse code to display autocomplete?

    Hi I have a web application running in cluster mode with a load balancer. It consists in two tomcats (T1, and T2) addressing only one DB. T2 is nfs mounted to T1. This is the only dofference between both nodes. I have a java method generating some files. If the request runs on T1 there is no problem but if the request is running on node 2 I get an exception as follows: java.io.IOException: Invalid argument at java.io.FileOutputStream.close0(Native Method) at java.io.FileOutputStream.close(FileOutputStream.java:279) The corresponding code is as follows: for (int i = 0; i < dataFileList.size(); i++) { outputFileName = outputFolder + fileNameList.get(i); FileOutputStream fileOut = new FileOutputStream(outputFileName); fileOut.write(dataFileList.get(i), 0, dataFileList.get(i).length); fileOut.flush(); fileOut.close(); } The exception appears at the fileOut.close() Any hint?     I'm trying out the Highcharts jQuery plugin for creating charts of data in an MVC application. But I need to get the data for the function dynamically from an Action Method. How can I do that?     I have a WinForms multiselect listbox, and each item in the listbox is of type MyClass. I am also writing a method that needs to take a parameter that is a collection of MyClass. It could be of type MyClass[], List<MyClass>, IList<MyClass>, IEnumerable<MyClass>, etc. Any of those would work fine. Somehow, I need to pass the selected items in the listbox to my method. But how would I convert SelectedObjectCollection to any of the MyClass collection types described above?

  • UITableView via NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate, select first record by default?

    I have a UITableView that gets populated from CoreData via a controller that implements NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate. How can I have it automatically select the first row (and fire the tableView:didSelectRowAtIndexPath message)? The tableview is used for a variety of predicate queries, so I'm suspicious of solutions that work on the UIViewController lifecycle (viewDidLoad, etc), but I'm new to the platform, so I'm open. I've tried a variety of things, but I'm not sure where in the call stack to put it. I've tried calling cell.selected = true inside tableView:cellForRowAtIndex: method, but that just ends up turning the cell black (and doesn't fire the selected callback method) A tagent question, with all the delegating and core data protocols, does it imply asynchronous data fetch (multiple threads)? Or is the NSFetchedResultsController calling all its related methods in the same thread? Maybe I'm just scared that if it is async, there would be race conditions that would be tough to troubleshoot later.

  • How do I improve the efficiency of the queries executed by this generic Linq-to-SQL data access clas

    Hi all, I have a class which provides generic access to LINQ to SQL entities, for example: class LinqProvider<T> //where T is a L2S entity class { DataContext context; public virtual IEnumerable<T> GetAll() { return context.GetTable<T>(); } public virtual T Single(Func<T, bool> condition) { return context.GetTable<T>().SingleOrDefault(condition); } } From the front end, both of these methods appear to work as you would expect. However, when I run a trace in SQL profiler, the Single method is executing what amounts to a SELECT * FROM [Table], and then returning the single entity that meets the given condition. Obviously this is inefficient, and is being caused by GetTable() returning all rows. My question is, how do I get the query executed by the Single() method to take the form SELECT * FROM [Table] WHERE [condition], rather than selecting all rows then filtering out all but one? Is it possible in this context? Any help appreciated, Lee

    Hi, I'm trying to integrate Sugar CRM with one of my projects. I'm using Apache Axis as my SOAP client. I've created the Sugar CRM client Stub classes using Apache Axis. I'm able to login and add Leads, Opportunities, Accounts and Contacts. But I'm unable to add a relation ship between my Account and Opportunity. I've found following method in the SugarsoapPortType port.set_relationship(session, module_name, module_id, link_field_name, related_ids, name_value_list, delete) but I cannot understand the different parameters required by this method.     I need to take all the values in an excel file to a temporary/physical table in SQL Server 2005. I don't need the Import export method. I tried the following linked server method: SELECT * INTO db1.dbo.table1 FROM OPENROWSET('Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0', 'Driver={Microsoft Excel Driver (*.xls)};DBQ=c:\renju.xls', 'SELECT * FROM [sheet1$]') But it is returing an error as: OLE DB provider "Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0" for linked server "(null)" returned message "Could not find installable ISAM.". I'm using Excel 2003, and I've already added the linked server for "Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0."

    I'm trying to build a custom clock view in Android. See image http://twitpic.com/1devk7 So far to draw the time and hour markers I have been using the Canvas.rotate method to get the desired effect. However, notice that it is difficult to interpret the numbers in the lower half of the clock (e.g. 6 or 9?) because of the angle in which they are drawn. When using drawText, is it possible to draw the text at 45/90/180 degrees so that all text appears upright when my onDraw method has finished?

  • How do I pass a reference type to Control.Invoke / display a form centered on the main form

    I'm on a thread other than the UI thread and need to display a modal form that's centered on the application's main form. What I usually do is use the width and height of the main form and the modal form to calculate the location, then use the PointToScreen method of the main form to get the location of the modal form. Since I'm on another thread I need to use Control.Invoke to call this method. I just can't figure out how to pass a parameter of type Point to Control.Invoke (params object[]). Value types and String works fine. Or, if someone can find a better way to display a form centered on the main form regardless of thread, that would be great. MessageBox seems to be able to do this (although not modally).

    I have a scenario. (Windows Forms, C#, .NET) There is a main form which hosts some user control. The user control does some heavy data operation, such that if I directly call the Usercontrol_Load method the UI become nonresponsive for the duration for load method execution. To overcome this I load data on different thread (trying to change existing code as little as I can) I used a background worker thread which will be loading the data and when done will notify the application that it has done its work. Now came a real problem. All the UI (main form and its child usercontrols) was created on the primary main thread. In the LOAD method of the usercontrol I'm fetching data based on the values of some control (like textbox) on userControl. The pseudocode would look like this: //CODE 1 UserContrl1_LOadDataMethod() { if(textbox1.text=="MyName") <<======this gives exception { //Load data corresponding to "MyName". //Populate a globale variable List<string> which will be binded to grid at some later stage. } } The Exception it gave was Cross-thread operation not valid: Control accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on. To know more about this I did some googling and a suggestion came up like using the following code //CODE 2 UserContrl1_LOadDataMethod() { if(InvokeRequired) // Line #1 { this.Invoke(new MethodInvoker(UserContrl1_LOadDataMethod)); return; } if(textbox1.text=="MyName") //<<======Now it wont give exception** { //Load data correspondin to "MyName" //Populate a globale variable List<string> which will be binded to grid at some later stage } } BUT BUT BUT... it seems I'm back to square one. The Application again become nonresponsive. It seems to be due to the execution of line #1 if condition. The loading task is again done by the parent thread and not the third that I spawned. I don't know whether I perceived this right or wrong. I'm new to threading. How do I resolve this and also what is the effect of execution of Line#1 if block? The situation is this: I want to load data into a global variable based on the value of a control. I don't want to change the value of a control from the child thread. I'm not going to do it ever from a child thread. So only accessing the value so that the corresponding data can be fetched from the database.
