  • Can Eclipse not hard-code ECLIPSE_HOME when exporting build.xml?

    I have an Eclipse project that I'm attempting to set up to build both with Eclipse and externally with Ant. It seems like a good way to do this is to have Eclipse generate a build.xml file that I can then use with ant. I'd like to set it up so the build.xml can be regenerated from Eclipse whenever the need arises, which means no hand-editing the build.xml file. But Eclipse writes one entry in there that has a hard-coded path to a directory on my computer, which makes it unsuitable for checking in to a source repository. Specifically it's this entry that's the trouble: <property name="ECLIPSE_HOME" value="D:/Eclipse/Eclipse Galileo (3.5) SR1"/> Is there some way to have Eclipse not output this line, or to make it a relative reference or something that makes sense to check in?

    I heard some people complaining about including the windows header file in a C++ application. They mentioned that it is inefficient. Is this just some urban legend or are there really some real hard facts behind it? In other words, if you believe it is efficient or inefficient please explain how this can be with facts. I am no C++ Windows programmer guru. It would really be appreciated to have detailed explanations.

  • Writing the code iby dividing it into more files.

    My problem is, I need a background image, a sprite(with animation) on left edge, another sprite(with animation) at other edge, a number count animation 1-2-3 at middle. I got all these when I wrote all in same file.(like [self addChild:label], [self addChild:sprite].., But in this it needs touch enables for both sprites separately, and touchDisabled to the remaining screen. So thought of writing in different files. But now it is not working. I kept one sprite, background image, numbercount in one file and another spritr in other file. Either I am getting the second sprite or the (sprite+background+numberCount) is displayed. This is my problem. plz give me solution. Thank You

  • Looking for MSSQL Table Design Sanity Check for Profile Tables with Dynamic Columns.

    I just want a general sanity check regarding database design. We are building a web system that has both Teachers and Students. Both have accounts in the system. Both have profiles in the system. My question is about the table design of those Profile tables. The Teacher profile is pretty static regarding the metadata associated with it. Each teacher has a set number of fields that exposes information about that individual (schools, degrees, etc). The students, however, are a different case. We are using a windows service to pull varying data about the students from an endless stream of excel spreadsheets. The data gets moved into our database and then the fields appear in association with the student's profile. Accordingly, each and every student may have very different fields in their profile. I originally started with the concept of three tables: Accounts ---------- AccountID TeacherProfiles ---------- TeacherProfileID AccountID SecondarySchool University YearsTeaching Etc... StudentProfiles ---------- StudentProfileID AccountID Header Value The StudentProfiles table would hold the name of the column headers from the excel spreadsheets and the associated values. I have since evolved the design a little to treat Profiles more generically per the attached ERD image. The Teacher and Student "Headers" are stored in a table called "ProfileAttributeTypes" and responses (either from the excel document or via input fields on the web form) are put in a ProfileAttributes table. This way both Student and Teacher profiles can be associated with a dynamic flow of profile fields. The "Permissions" table tells us whether we are dealing with a Student or a Teacher. Since this system is likely to grow quickly, I want to make sure the foundation is solid. Can you please provide feedback about this design and let me know if it seems sound or if you could see problems it might create and, if so, what might be a better approach? Thanks in advance.

    I tried this: BackgroundWorker bw = new BackgroundWorker(); bw.DoWork += (o, e) => { SendConfEmail(); }; bw.RunWorkerAsync(); but it didn't work. SendConfEmail takes a while to run. I guess it's because BackgroundWorker is designed for winforms not webforms. Any ideas how I can solve the problem?

  • Why does this javascript code have an infinite loop?

    optionElements is a 2d array. Each element has an array of length 2. These are an integer number and an element. I have a select list called linkbox, and i want to add all of the elements to the select list. The order I want them to go in is important, and is determined by the number each element has. It should be smallest to highest. So think of it like this: optionElements is: [ [5, <option>], [3, <option], [4, <option], [1, <option], [2, <option]] and it would add them to link box in order of those numbers. BUT that is not what happens. It is an infinite loop after the first time.     I'm creating a key for a dictionary which is a structure of two strings. When I test this method in a console app, it works, but I'm not sure if the only reason it works is because the strings are being interned and therefore have the same references.     I need to do some functions on some text field contents before submitting the form, like checking the validity of the customer registeration code, having the customer name as his code in customers table appending an incrementing number. I don't want to do it after the form is submitted becuase I need it to be displayed in the code field before submitting the form. My code: function getCode(){ var temp = document.getElementById("temp").value ; var d = parseInt(document.getElementById("temp").value) + 1; document.getElementById("customernumber").value = d; document.getElementById("code").value = document.getElementById("name").value+"-"+ d; } It all works fine, but the last line of code developed the code WITH the spaces between the code.

  • When does code bloat start having a noticeable effect on performance?

    I am looking to make a hefty shift towards templates in one of my OpenGL projects, mainly for fun and the learning experience. I plan on watching the size of the executable carefully as I do this, to see just how much of the notorious bloat happens. Currently, the size of my Release build is around 580 KB when I favor speed and 440 KB when I favor size. Yes, it's a tiny project, and in fact even if my executable bloats 10 x its size, it's still going to be 5 MB or so, which hardly seems large by today's standards... or is it? This brings me to my question. Is speed proportional to size, or are there leaps and plateaus at certain thresholds, thresholds which I should be aiming to stay below? (And if so, what are the thresholds specifically?)

So I have this: <div id="title"><%= list.get(ind).getTitle() %></div> When I display the elements, as this tag is in for loop, I get everything right. Now I what to place a button for deleting each of this elements. What I have done is: <input type="submit" name="submit" onclick="deleteNewsFunction();" id="submit_btn"/> In the deleteNewsFunction() I just want to print the data. <script> function deleteNewsFunction(){ var item = $('#title').val(); alert(item); } </script> The problem is that the title var gets always the first item even if I am clicking on the button of the second item. I was thinking that maybe a solution is to add the "list.get(ind).getTitle()" as a parameter in the function like deleteNewsFunction(<%=list.get(ind).getTitle()%) but then it did not work at all. Does anyone know how to help me? Thanks a lot!

Why does the roll_out event fire when the mouse leaves a button (even when it is still inside the canvas). I'm going nuts trying to figure this out. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
