    Hi, Could somebody point out the necessary rights to do something like ALTER TABLE myTable ADD myColumn int NOT NULL CONSTRAINT [Constraint_name] DEFAULT ((0)) ? I assumed grant alter on myTable to [user] was enough but I'm getting the error message The UPDATE permission was denied on the object 'myTable', database 'x', schema 'dbo'. Could UPDATE rights be needed because of the DEFAULT constraint? Thanks.

    On asp.net if i call a synchronous database query inside an IHttpAsyncHandler with delegate.BeginInvoke, would it still release the asp.net worker thread while reading the database?     I have a form with certain elements, input boxes, check boxes etc. I need to encrypt the names of these input boxes and check boxes. I'm currently using a Rijndael encryption/decryption method through c# however this is making the encrypted names too long to be passed in a post. Is there a better way to get decent encrypted names? my purpose is to have the names encrypted before the post happens so if someone views the code behind the names are already encrypted.

In order to do this, I think I can create a asp.net folder and secure it using form authentication.   • jQuery check on wordchange rather than "change" trigger

    I have a input that the user types a search parameter into, at the moment i have it on keyup to do a POST ajax request to a PHP script that returns search results. however its firing off 50 billion (not literally) post requests in about 10 seconds (as the user types) which slows the whole experience down. Can i use jQuery to detect a "wordup" rather than "keyup" by detecting the use of the space bar? Does this make sense?

    I noticed that PHP seems to return only values of checked checkboxes. I would like to see a list of checkboxes, not just values of checked checkboxes. Is there a way to detect variables of unchecked boxes? I asked because I want to be able to update settings. For example, I have a few options that are already checked but if an user decides to uncheck an option, I need to know that unchecked value so I can update the option to be disabled.

  • Why are Maven Goals not added by IntelliJ?

    I have produced a new Maven Project from gae-archetype-gwt from within IntelliJ, and everything is generated well, but the gae:... goals won't show up in the Maven View, and if I try to update Repository Indices, apart from the local repository I get errors only. When I run gae:unpack from terminal, everything works fine. Im running Ubuntu 10.04 Beta 1 and am using open-jdk, for which IntelliJ is also configured. UPDATE: WORKS FINE WITH UBUNTU 10.04 FINAL + JDK FROM PARTNER REPOSITORY

So, later when the application gets deployed, and if I want to update SQL statements, I could just update the statements in the file and just replace the file instead of redeploying the whole solution.     I've been struggling a bit with the jQuery Form plugin. I want to create a file upload form that posts the data (JSON, from the chosen file) into a REST service exposed by a servlet. The URL for the POST is calculated from what the user chooses in a SELECT dropdown. When the upload is complete, I want to notify the user immediately, AJAX-style. The problem is that the POST header has a Content-Length of 0 and contains no data.     I am trying to redirect to the create method of another controller. However, I can't find a way to set the method to POST. This results in the index method to be called. Using :method => :post just creates a new parameter, but doesn't change the http method. Any ideas how to redirect to the create method?

Above this number I get the following error: Run-time error'-2147217887(80040e21)': Could not update; currently locked by another session on this machine. What is the significance of this number 2036 and is there a property I can adjust that will allow the above update to take place?
