    Hello, I'm writing a stored procedure. This procedure has a case where if it is met, I want to stop executing the procedure and return -1. How do I do this? Currently, I'm trying the following: IF @result <> 1 BEGIN SELECT -1 END However, SELECT is not a typical "return".   • How to return a value into webpage

    Hello: I have a simple webpage that displays the credit balance for calling cards. So far without any problems, with HTML, PHP and mysql, I was able to retrieve the balance from a data base. But I have to display the result in ANOTHER PAGE, wich looks akward because the page must reload. Can I just load this value into a pre-drawed field under the input fields that collect the data from the customer? So I guess the solr schema should looks like this: article_id, paragraph_number, paragraph_content Therefore, I need to parse article first, extract paragraphs and index it one by one. I have tried with 'PagedDataSource' class but i don't know how it is possible to convert to dataset or data table. In my case i need a general solution.     I'd like to decorate a function, using a pattern like this: def deco(func): def wrap(*a,**kw): print "do something" return func(*a,**kw) return wrap The problem is that if the function decorated has a prototype like that: def function(a,b,c): return When decorated, the prototype is destroyed by the varargs, for example, calling function(1,2,3,4) wouldn't result in an exception. Is that a way to avoid that? How can define the wrap function with the same prototype as the decorated (func) one? There's something conceptually wrong?

    I have a rather simple hadoop question which i'll try to present with an example say you have a list of strings and a large file and you want each mapper to process a piece of the file and one of the strings in a grep like program. how are you supposed to do that? I am under the impression that the number of mappers is a result of the inputsplits produced. I could run subsequent jobs, one for each string, but it seems kinda... messy?

    A friend of mine came to me with this strange behavior which i can't explain, any insight view would be appreciated. Im running VS 2005 (C# 2.0), the following code show the behavior int rr = "test".IndexOf(""); Console.WriteLine(rr.ToString()); the above code, print "0" which clearly show it should have return -1 This also happen in Java where the following Class show the behavior: public class Test{ public static void main(String[] args){ System.out.println("Result->"+("test".indexOf(""))); } } Im running Java 1.6.0_17

I tried the following: class Product < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessor :my_price validates_numericality_of :customer_price, :greater_than_or_equal_to => my_price ... end (customer_price is a column in the Products table in the database, while my_price isn't.)     So i'm trying to render a template with trimpath in IE8, but when passing the template (a jquery object) there is nothing in it. This all works in chrome,safari,firefox.
