• Why does the mouse always move to the bottom left?

  In the course of doing stuff on the computer, the mouse always moves, by itself, to the bottom left of the screen - I'd say several times in the course of an hour. I thought this might be an issue with the driver, so I re-installed the driver, but the problem continued. Then thinking that the mouse is faulty, I replaced my Microsoft Wheel Mouse with a Dell mouse. The problem still continues. How can I fix this problem?

• Condensing/abstracting the path shown on each line in PowerShell

  I've started using virtualenv for my Python projects. Since the working directory for my projects is now deeply nested, the path has started to take up half of my screen! Is it possible to somehow have PowerShell condense the path to the current working directory, from something like C:\Users\kRON\Desktop\Current work\Python\dsp\src to C:\Users\kRON\Deskto~1\Curren~2\Python\dsp\src or, better yet, to match C:\Users\kRON\Desktop\Current work\Python\and just replace it with ~python\?

  hello members can anyone help me solve this issue. i have just installed ubuntu for the 1st time using vmware on windows 7 everything has been installed smoothly but after the installation in the login screen username is coming and when i try to enter password it is not taking any input, keyboard is not working at all and after moving away from ubuntu keyboard and everthing else is working fine. plz help thanks in advance.

• Why is there an auto-connect delay to a hidden wireless network - Ubuntu 9.10

  I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 on a Lenovo T61 (in case that matters). Network Manager connects just fine to my hidden SSID, every time. Sometimes, though, it can take upwards of a minute or more to do it. When you're sitting there, staring at the screen, that can seem interminable. Any hints on how I can fix this or manually force a connection? Thanks!

When i connect to my desktop Ubuntu PC via ssh from a tablet (Asus tf Prime) using terminal emulator (screen-256-colors) I got my vim in Chinese... On desktop it is correctly working in English.   For some reason, after users do the initial authentication, the system logs in (or unlocks) and locks the screen again within a few seconds (without dropping the RDP session). I've seen this on XP SP3 and Server 2k3. Clients are both major versions of the MS client, and rdesktop. Update: We've seen the issue on a range of machines from 2k3 server (no logon/post logon scripts on servers) to XP SP3. Multiple machines have the same issue - even coming from a fresh and fully patched install.

  I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 notebook with integrated GMA 965 VGA, using Windows 7. All my drivers are up to date, downloaded directly from the vendor site, installed with administrative privileges, etc. Yet, all OpenGL applications cannot render the interface (or any visuals). Examples are Blender (3D modeling software) and Babo Violent (top-down FPS). All the controls, sound effects and music are live, but the screen is black or light gray, respectively. What can one do?

I realize that there are probably options to silently check out the file without connfirmation, but why is VS thinking that it needs the file checked out in the first place?   I read somewhere that the Ultimate Boot CD can diagnose computer problems. In this case would this program help me get my Windows XP back? When I turn on the screen and hit "Start Windows Normally" or go to Safe Mode I get a flash of the WinXP logo and then it goes to this error page. • After upgrade to Lucid, computer doesn't respond to clicks or pressed keys until X restart

  I upgraded to Lucid today, and after the update the display is "frozen". I can move the cursor, but I cannot click on anything, nor does it respond to any keys. The only way to fix it is to SSH into the machine (which, by the way, works just fine), and kill and start X. Then I'm taken back to the login screen and everything works. This happens every time I boot. Let me know if there are more details that I can provide.

• Computer doesn't boot with Entertainmen Keyboard 8000?

  I have a Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 8000, and when the charger/usb-hub is connected, the computer won't start. All I get is the bios boot screen, and it won't go further. But if I disconnect either the usb-cable or the power-cable to the charger the computer boots normally. Any suggestions as to what's causing this behaviour? I've tried the charger on two different computers with the same result.

• Which is the correct way to config the $TERM and tmux?

  I am using gnome-terminal with bash. When I set xterm-256color for $TERM and in .tmux.conf most of the things work but when I try to change the colorscheme of vim the things mess up. When I set screen-256color for $TERM and in .tmux.conf the colors work ok but most of the keys go mad. I've tried some of the suggestions from the last link but when I ssh the arrows crash even on the command line.. So how to configure tmux?

  Hi, I wanted to try and I installed Internet Explorer 9 and now Firefox is acting strangely, For example the URL Windows aren't opening in time, when I Maximize Firefox the window Title is blinking crazy. But Google Earth is acting even more strangely,The application seems to work but when I browse or zoom Earth I immediately experience lots of blinking on my screen. • Dell "Remote Access Configuration Utility" keeps prompting

  One of our servers can never reboot without pausing at the BIOS prompt asking to "F1 to continue, F2 to enter setup utility". I have gone into Setup and there is nothing there to stop it prompting for this; I have gone into the Remote Access Configuration Utility (CTRL+E) and have setup some values hoping that because it was setup it would not keep asking, but nope, nothing obvious like "Disable Remote Access Configuration". This is the screen we see: Does anyone know what we can do to let our machine boot cleanly??

• Can't re-open "Group My Tabs" page after killing Firefox

  Due to memory problems I closed Firefox whilst the Group My Tabs (Ctrl+e) feature was displaying the multiple tab groups. After 20 minutes the process still hadn't finished so killall firefoxed it. When I restart Firefox, there is a Javascript process called tabview.js that hangs unless I click Stop at the warning screen. If I do hit Stop then I can no longer open the tabview, so I can't get to any of the tabs except in the subgroup I was last looking at. Any suggestions?

  I have a few production Fedora and Debian webservers that host our sites as well as user shell accounts (used for git vcs work, some screen+irssi sessions, etc). Occasionally a new kernel update will come down the pipeline in yum/apt-get, and I was wondering if most of the fixes are severe enough to warrant a reboot, or if I can apply the fixes sans reboot. Our main development server currently has 213 days of uptime, and I wasn't sure if it was insecure to run such an older kernel.

  We are using Tight VNC server in our project for screen sharing, due to some security constraints we cannot directly install Tight VNC server on clients machine. So through .net windows applicaton we are invoking Tight VNC. Now this windows application should capture the screens(packets) that VNC server passes to VNC client and transfer them to and fro to routing server, routing server will inturn transfers these packets to VNC client, which is on another network. Is there any way that VNC server packets are caputured through .Net.
