• solution for different tab bars in other screen

  Hi Guys I am finding the solution for my application. I create an iphone application have 3 screen: First screen not contain any tab bar. Second screen have 2 tab bar item. Third screen have 3 tab bar item. http://c.upanh.com/upload/7/719/L50.11932623_1_1.jpg If i create a UITabBarController - the tab bar will be appeared from first screen. So I have to hide tab bar in first screen. But second and third screen have different tab bar - not good idea. Do you have solution for this issue, please help me. Thank you !!!

  Hi there! For some reason i cant test my apps on a real iphone anymore. My license is valid the device has a profile, but something just doesn't seem to work... I think i'm doing something wrong but i don't know what exactly... the App Id, the Profile??   My wish is to know how I can program a mobile website, that fit to all mobile phones. Are there any special approaches to recognize a device and render the code according to it? Which tools and coding languages are required? My first thought was to hold the website in XML, which would be parsed depending on the device. You have to consider old phones, even devices with only wap support. For example: The mobile website has to recognize Nokia N75 and render/send the code that looks optimal for this device. Same thing with an iPhone or a Motorola Razr.

Like dismissModalViewController in their titles of methods, or documentation like: "The UIViewController class provides the fundamental view-management model for iPhone applications. The basic view controller class supports the presentation of an associated view in addition to basic support for managing modal views and rotating views in response to device orientation changes. Subclasses such as UINavigationController and UITabBarController provide additional behavior for managing complex hierarchies of view controllers and views." I'm not sure as to what context I should think of when I see modal in the names and documentation. Any thoughts? Thanks.

  I did a lot of searching for what I thought would be a pretty common question, but I came up with nothing. If there is another thread with a similar topic, please let me know. Basically, I'm looking for a way to have an .mp3 file play in a website without relying on a flash-based player. I've searched w3 schools and every forum I can think of, but every media player I've found so far has been some sort of proprietary flash player. Doesn't HTML support some sort of native player? I've found some that rely on Windows Media Player which is close, but I want the player to work on an iPhone and something tells me WMP won't get that done... PS, as I'm thinking more about this this idea just popped into my head: a javascipt player and inside the <noscript> tag, put a flash player? I'm running a music blog (@ http://www.freshoncampus.com) so the less code per post, the better...

  Hi friends, i am building one app almost similar to contact management system...in which i have a detail view .. on pressing one of the table cells, a new view will be shown were the user can enter the new values and on pressing the save button the values will be updated in the database. On going back to the detail view the user should be able to see the updated values in the table cells.. or how can i update the values in detail view from another view...? i came to know that this can be acheived through Appdelegate objects ... but i couldnt understand wat is it or how it is done.... may be bcuz i am new to iPhone apps development... Pls can anyone explain me the process..

  Hi, in my app I use several png-graphics. For the present version they are installed with the app in the folder "graphic". I made while programming. Now I need some more png-graphics and I don't want to make each time an app-update. How can I manage it, that the app is downloading the png-files from my webserver without knowing the name. I am looking for something which compares the files on the webserver with the files on the iPhone and if there is a new (or newer) file download it. Or is it possible to make an plist-file with the graphics??

  Hello. I'm building a multiplayer game on the iPhone and I need to send string data to the other players in the game. To do that, I need to encapsulate my NSString* string data in an NSData object somehow. Here's an example of how my code is structured... typedef struct { PACKETTYPE packetType; ??? stringToSend; //<---not sure how to store this } StringPacket; StringPacket msg; msg.packetType = STRING_PACKET; msg.stringToSend = ... // <---not sure what to do here NSData *packet = [NSData dataWithBytes:&msg length:sizeof(StringPacket)]; So my question is, if StringPacket is a struct defined in my header, what type should the stringToSend property be so that I can easily call the dataWithBytes method of NSData to encapsulate the packet data in an NSData object?   I'm trying to resize a UIButton in my iPhone app. I have a UIButton synthesized and when I call the following code, it moves on the screen, but the width & height of the button never change. button.frame.size = CGRectMake(104, 68, 158, 70); For example, when I change the height (70) to 40, the height of the button does not change. If I change the x or y, however, it will move on the screen. Any ideas?

• How do you know how much space an NSString (using default font) will occupy on a UITableView section

  Basically I want to copy the behavior in iPhone's Calendar where the day of week (Mon, Tue, Wed) is on the left side of the table's section header (left justified) while the formatted date (Apr 1, 2010, May 1, 2010) based on locale is on the right side of the table's section header (right justified). I was thinking of inserting a variable amount of space in between the day of week and formatted date but I first need to know the actual space consumed by the text on both sides to figure out how much space to add. However what puzzling me is that the sizes of certain strings are so much different, particularly when they include \n or \r. I listed out a few examples. • Converting between square and rectangular pixel co-ordinates

  I'm new at using transforms and this type of math, and would appreciate some direction solving my coding problem. I'm writing in XCode for the iphone, and am working with CGraphics. Problem: In Xcode, I want to draw curves, lines and so on it's screen of of square pixels. Then convert those points, as close as possible, into non-square pixel sysem. For example if the original coordinate system is 500 x 500 pixels that are displayed on square screen of 10 by 10 inchs I draw a round circle with the circle formula. It looks round, and all is well. Now, I draw the same circle on a second 10 x 10 inch screen that is 850 pixels by 500 pixels. Without changing the coordinates, the same circle formual displays something that looks like an egg. How can I draw the circle on the second screen in a different coordinate system? And in addition, I need to access the set of points x,y system individually. s

  Hello i have a question. in short: i need a function which receives [NSDate date] and string @"2010-11-12" and returns the amount of days between those two dates. more explanation: I need to store a date from a server in the format @"2010-11-12" in my NSUserdefaults. The meaning of this date is the expireDate of a feature in an iPhone App. Everytime i press on a button for this feature i need to check if the difference in days between the current time-[NSDate date] and @"2010-11-12" is greater than 0. That means tahat the feature is disabled. its making me crazy mabey its to dead simple.

  I'm diving into iPhone development and one of the core concepts im trying to get my head around is view controllers. If you look at the GLPaint example on the apple dev site, you'll see a project that has... An app delegate class A uiwindow subclass And a uiview subclass And the uiview subclass implements all the core graphics painting logic and handles the touch events. My questions are, why is there no view controller implemented to handle that view logic? Could you use a view controller to implement that logic or does it have to be implemented in the uiview subclass? And last, when should you use a view controller to implement the view logic code?   I am trying to get current location of user using CLLocationCoordinate2D. I want the values in the format like CLLocationCoordinate2D start = {-28.078694,153.382844 }; So that I can use them like following: NSString *urlAddress = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"http://maps.google.com/?saddr=%1.6f,%1.6f&daddr=%1.6f,%1.6f", start.latitude, start.longitude, destination.latitude, destination.longitude]; I used CLLocation *location = [[CLLocation alloc]init ]; CLLocationDegrees currentLatitude = location.coordinate.latitude; CLLocationDegrees currentLongitude = location.coordinate.longitude; to get current lat & long. But I am getting 0.000 for both when I try to test. I am testing on iPhone 4s. If there is any sample code, it will be great.

• XCode Project Code Changes Not Updating 100% After Save-Build-Run

  When I make code changes to my iPhone game project in XCode, and then do CMD-B + Enter, I expect the project to be saved, build and run on the simulator with the latest. What is happening though, sometimes, is that it doesn't pick up a small change I make unless I clean the project and then build. I'm a long time Java person and newish to C-based languages and it's compiler. Can someone explain to me what is cached after each build that does this and how to change my project settings to avoid having to clean everytime? Or tell me the bad news that this is part of C development? Not trying to bash it - I get compiled JSPs stuck in the working cache often in Java, too. :P

• My table cells don't highlight immediately when touched

  Hi, In my app, I have a table view that has about eight cells. There is a navigation bar at the top. When a user touches a cell, nothing happens for about 1/2 second. Then the touched cell highlights blue and immediately the new view slides into position. The problem is that there is no feedback to the user about which cell he touched until just before the new view slides into position. For example, when I explore the tables in the iPhone's Settings application, when you touch a cell, the cell immediately turns blue, and then there is a 1/2 second delay, and then you see the new view. How do I get my table's feedback of highlighting the cells to happen immediately? I am using tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:, and each cell has an accessory button. Thanks for any insight.

  Hi I'm a techie with no programing experience. I know html and css, but I'd like to someday be able to make an app for my phone (I have an android) and possibly mobile websites. I made learning a programing language and creating a mobile app a goal for my job, and now my boss would like me to pick a programing language to learn. I found a free open course from MIT (http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-fall-2008/) called introduction to computer science. In the course they teach python, but more importantly it seems they teach how to think like a programmer. When I told my boss about the free online course she didn't think that Python was an appropriate language for me to learn. She'd like me to learn a language that is more similar to one used to make Phone apps. Does anyone out there know a better language for me to pick up that would be similar to Android or iPhone's App language. Thank you

I want to add logout tab in tabbarcontroller after login in Login Page by programmatically and when user will click to logout tab then it back to home/login screen and logout tab will eliminate.
