    Hi, is there a good way to gather the mac addresses of machines on a local network using Python. If it helps I'm trying to execute this python script from the DHCP server for the network. I'm new to Python but would it be a bad idea to look at the DHCP leases file for this info? I'd like to use this inside a Django app eventually. Thanks.

    Hello I'm watching a directory using FileSystemWatcher. When a file is created into that directory - my watcher grabs and transfers it to the network drive. My problem is that when a Microsoft-office file is opened, a temporary file is created in the watched directory. I can't find a way to ignore these files and also could not find when I should move these file to the network drive.

    I tried to edit a service file in /etc/systemd/system/aria2.service [Unit] Description=start aria2 Wants=network.target Before=network.target [Service] Type=oneshot ExecStart=/usr/bin/aria2c --enable-rpc --rpc-listen-all=true --rpc-allow-origin-all -c -D [Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target Then run "systemctl enable aria2" & "systemctl start" and there is no error. But I can't grep 'aria2c' in process list after reboot. Who can give me a sample service file for it? Thanks

    Hi, When I'm developing my gwt project without a network connection, is there a way to detect this? For example, I have a widget that has an Image in it, and the widget does not display until the Image url request times out (takes a long time, like 2 minutes?). Also, whenever I refresh the page in hosted mode, it doesn't finish loading for about a minute, when no network connection - seems like gwt is trying to contact some external website and blocking on that until it times out too - making things really slow - any way to stop that too?     Hi, I am consuming one webservice, while consuming there can different types expception might occur depeninding on various situation like.. network failur, invalid soap data or exception from serverside also might occur. How can I differntiate between these different excpetion? Because in my application, with these exceptions I need to update the various status Like: if network failure occurs Status will be "unable to connect webservice" so I can try after sometime later.     Me and my friends play Age of Empires every weekend and create an Ad-hoc network each time before playing. But each time we all get the SAME IP Address even if a new ad-hoc network is created. Is this something to do with the Game's algorithm or does the laptop remember our previous IP Address. EDIT: What is the algorithm that is used to distribute the IP Addresses? If the algorithm uses random function how come same IP addresses are being allocated.

    I have a neural network written in Java which uses a sigmoid transfer function defined as follows: private static double sigmoid(double x) { return 1 / (1 + Math.exp(-x)); } and this is called many times during training and computation using the network. Is there any way of speeding this up? It's not that it's slow, it's just that it is used a lot, so a small optimisation here would be a big overall gain.

    Hi Guys, I have a trigger that sends an email once a value has been changed. It works when i make any amendments but when the users make the changes it fails. I have figured out the users havnt got permission to send mails in master.dbo.xp_sendmail The way the DB was originally setup wis shocking!! (each user has a network login rather than being part of a network group) Is there anyway i can allow a role in customerDb to access the xp_sendmail proc in the mater db? Thanks Sp
