It supports a number of 'widgets' and apps built for youtube, twitter, various yahoo! offerings and apparently AOL & Netflix if I were in the USA. I'd like to hack on the SDK, but the only version I can find is Japanese. Where is a good source of information (in English)? • Using External GPS Device w/ Android via Bluetooth

  Hello, I am writing an Android 2.0 application that is going to be used in a somewhat remote location. There will be no internet connection available and it will be used outside of the U.S. I am considering the option of using an external Nokia or similar GPS device as a receiver/transmitter and connecting to it for use in my application via the bluetooth API. I am looking for opinions on whether or not this is even possible, if anyone has attempted it or if someone has a suggestion for some other external device or approach that would be more fitting. • How to organize Python modules for PyPI to support 2.x and 3.x

  I have a Python module that I would like to upload to PyPI. So far, it is working for Python 2.x. It shouldn't be too hard to write a version for 3.x now. But, after following guidelines for making modules in these places: Distributing Python Modules The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Packaging it's not clear to me how to support multiple source distributions for different versions of Python, and it's not clear if/how PyPI could support it. I envisage I would have separate code for: 2.x 2.6 (maybe, as a special case to use the new buffer API) 3.x How is it possible to set up a Python module in PyPI so that someone can do: easy_install modulename and it will install the right thing whether the user is using 2.x or 3.x?

  Hello all, I get this error when adding a reference to the Microsoft.Search.Interop.dll library in a new project that I created. Microsoft.Search.Interop.dll is a library that provides some useful API to communicate with Windows Search. I use it in order to add a folder to the system indexer. Did anybody else get this error, and if so, how should I go about solving it? I'm using VS2010 RC on a Windows Server 2008 if that is important. Thanks.

• Validate signature on EXE with CertGetCertificateChain

  I would like to verify a signed executable. The requirement is to validate that the executable itself is valid and where it came from (probably from the subject of the cert). The cert type is PKCS. I found a similar posting here, http://stackoverflow.com/questions/301024/validate-authenticode-signature-on-exe-c-without-capicom The Microsoft documentation, among others, appears to point to CertGetCertificateChain, but the examples tend to work with certificates that are in a store. Does anyone know how to validate a signed executable using CertGetCertificateChain and related API's?

• Android: TabHost How To: set new content in existing tabs upon menu button?

  Hello stackoverflow, I recently started Android programming and was working on my first program which displays a historic text document, sectioned by tabs via TabHost. I have limited my program to one activity and merely used setContent in my TabSpec's to switch between different XML views. The document has both unedited and corrected versions of the text for which I have built text views to accommodate. I wanted to implement the standard menu to have buttons to "view corrected" and "view original" and switch the content of the tabs which have changes (without altering the tabs or their indicators). I've read on the TabHost API and there is no way to edit existing tab content with setContent() of TabSpec; and AFAIK TabWidget only affects the actual tabs, not the content that is displayed upon pressing them. I've thought about creating a new class which extended TabHost and super() all of the original methods, while including one more which updated the mTabSpec list. My question would be, how would I update the frameLayout view of a specific tab to display content I specify?

But it looks like blackberry doesn't have an internal api for creating single line Edit field. I have created a Custom Field by extending BasciEditField overriding methods like layout, paint. In paint i am drawing a rectangle with getpreferred width and height. But the cursor is coming at default position (top-left) in Edit Field. Can any body tell me how i can draw it where my text is(i.e in middle of Edit Field by calling drwaText()). Thanks,

  I'm trying to use Simple XML to convert my java objects to XML format in my Android application. I'm getting NoClassDefFoundError at line Serializer serializer = new Persister(); java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.simpleframework.xml.core.Persister I have simple-xml-2.6.1.jar in project class path and when I got NoClassDefFoundError I also put these 3 jars in classpath stax-1.2.0.jar stax-api-1.0.1.jar xpp3-1.1.3_8.jar but made no use. Still having NoClassDefFoundError. Any kind of help will be appreciated.Thank you.

  Hi there, I'd like to implement my own script engine using the QtScript component and other Qt components. Since this should be an open source (GPL) application I thought I would be free to do this. But now I found a page at Qt's website that made me doubtful about it: What are the restrictions with releasing scriptable applications? Unless the scripter has a Qt license, the following restrictions apply: The application itself may not primarily be a script development tool. The Qt API may not be made directly scriptable. Scripts may not alter the main functionality of the application. If the major part of the application is developed with a compiled programming language and only some non-core parts of the application are made extendable/modifiable through Qt Script, the scripter does not need to purchase a Qt or QSA license. • Couldn't attachto Firefox 3.x browser by using Browser.AttachTo<FireFox>method in WatiN 2.0 RC1

  I am using HTTPWatch automation API to launch a new Firefox instance like that: HttpWatch.Controller ct = new HttpWatch.Controller(); HttpWatch.Plugin plugin = ct.FireFox.New(""); plugin.GotoURL("http://www.google.com"); These codes could start a Firefox browser successfully. Then I want to control the browser in WatiN 2.0: FireFox ff = Browser.AttachTo<FireFox>(Find.ByTitle("Google")); WatiN could not find Firefox window (JSSH plugin has been added in Firefox). But the same test on IE 7 is ok. I even tried to open a Firefox window manually and visit google.com page. WaitN in IE7 could attach to the browser, but Firefox failed. Is there anything wrong with my codes? Or any other advice? Thanks in advance! • Why does calling setScaleX during pinch zoom gesture cause flicker?

  I am trying to create a zoomable container and I am targeting API 14+ In my onScale (i am using the ScaleGestureDetector to detect pinch-zoom) I am doing something like this: public boolean onScale (ScaleGestureDetector detector) { float scaleFactor = detector.getScaleFactor(); setScaleX(getScaleX() * scaleFactor); setScaleY(getScaleY() * scaleFactor); return true; }; It works but the zoom is not smooth. In fact it noticeably flickers. I also tried it with hardware layer thinking that the scaling would happen on the GPU once the texture was uploaded and thus would be super fast. But it made no difference - the zoom is not smooth and flickers weirdly sometimes. What am I doing wrong?

Users should have two possibilities of giving the location: automatically from iPhone build-in GPS by finding a specific point on a map (Google Maps) I know how to user CLLocationManager to get current position coordinates and I know how to add Google Maps using JS API. What I would like to know if how can I get coordinates for a specific point on a map that user clicks. Is that possible with UIWebView or is there any other way of getting the values I need?

• How to filter the jqGrid data NOT using the built in search/filter box

  I want users to be able to filter grid data without using the intrinsic search box. I have created two input fields for date (from and to) and now need to tell the grid to adopt this as its filter and then to request new data. Forging a server request for grid data (bypassing the grid) and setting the grid's data to be the response data wont work - because as soon as the user tries to re-order the results or change the page etc. the grid will request new data from the server using a blank filter. I cant seem to find grid API to achieve this - does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

  I am getting this error from a PostMethod using commons-httpclient No credentials available for DIGEST 'realm'@localhost and a 401 back from the server. I followed the example from this post java client program to send digest authentication request using HttpClient API (2) However, it still seems to fail. I am trying to connect to a XML-RPC service, we use digest authentication. I tried using the Apache xmlrpc library but it seems to not support digest authentication. Any ideas? Thanks.

• How to use jxl open file turn off gridlines and save

  I am new to jxl, but I have what I think is a pretty simple requirement. I want to take an existing .xls file with three tabs, turn off the gridlines on all 3, and then save it again. It looks from the API like there is a function to handle gridlines setPrintGridLines(boolean b) I would love it if someone could give me sample code - or a link pointing me in the right direction - on how to do this.   I'm looking for a Java library for SWIFT messages. I want to parse SWIFT messages into an object model validate SWIFT messages (including SWIFT network validation rules) build / change SWIFT messages by using an object model Theoretically, I need to support all SWIFT message types. But at the moment I need MT103+, MT199, MT502, MT509, MT515 and MT535. So far I've looked at two libraries AnaSys Message Objects (link text) Datamation SWIFT Message Suite (link text) Both libraries allow to accomplish the tasks mentioned above but in both cases I'm not really happy. AnaSys uses a internal XML representation for all SWIFT messages which you need to know in order to access the fields of a message. And you need to operate on the DOM of the XML representation, there is no way to say "get the contents of field '50K' of the SWIFT message". And the Datamation library seems to have the nicer API but does not find all errors. So does anyone know other SWIFT libraries to use?

I ran the sample application by appengine-java-sdk\bin\dev_appserver.cmd appengine-java-sdk\demos\guestbook\war Then I visited localhost:8080 to find : HTTP ERROR 500 Problem accessing /.   I am using FB.ui with the display parameter set to popup. When the method is 'stream.publish', it autoresizes when the content is loaded. However, when using 'fbml.dialog' (in order to display a multi-friend selector) it shows a size that I'm not able to change (and the content is displayed cropped). I have tried with the following approaches, with no luck: FB.ui({ method: 'fbml.dialog', size: {width: 800, height: 500}, ... FB.ui({ method: 'fbml.dialog', width: 800, height: 500, ...   Hello. I'm playing a little bit with the new StackOverflow API. Unfortunately, my JSON is a bit weak, so I need some help. I'm trying to deserialize this JSON of a User: {"user":{ "user_id": 1, "user_type": "moderator", "creation_date": 1217514151, "display_name": "Jeff Atwood", ... "accept_rate": 100 }} into an object which I've decorated with JsonProperty attributes: [JsonObject(MemberSerialization.OptIn)] public class User { [JsonProperty("user_id", Required = Required.Always)] public virtual long UserId { get; set; } [JsonProperty("display_name", Required = Required.Always)] public virtual string Name { get; set; } ... } I get the following exception: Newtonsoft.Json.JsonSerializationException: Required property 'user_id' not found in JSON. So although for example a "T Shirt" may have 10 Medias associated, my result should be something similar to this Product.Id Product.Title MediaId 1 T Shirt 21 2 Shoes Null 3 Hat 43 I have tried the following solutions using JoinType.LeftOuterJoin 1) productCriteria.SetResultTransformer(Transformers.DistinctRootEntity); This hasnt worked as the transform is done code side and as I have .SetFirstResult() and .SetMaxResults() for paging purposes it wont work. 2) .SetProjection( Projections.Distinct( Projections.ProjectionList() .Add(Projections.Alias(Projections.Property("Id"), "Id")) ... .SetResultTransformer(Transformers.AliasToBean()); This hasn't worked as I cannot seem to populate a value for Medias.Id in the projections. Flash seems to ignore the simulated mouse click. What could be the reason for this? And how do I fix it? Thank you!
