  I have 7 textboxes. If Top 1 textbox(Volume All Years) text changed, text need to be updated in next 6 inputboxes(Latest 2009 Volume to Latest 2014 Volume). I need javascript or Jquery for this. I will write Js textchanged() or focuschange() for top 1 textbox. • NSDateFormatterFullStyle without year (NSDateFormatter)

  Using the user's currentLocale from the device, I want to have a date format exactly like the one generated for NSDateFormatterFullStyle minus the year: [dateFormatter setDateStyle:NSDateFormatterFullStyle]; Friday, 21 September (2012) I've noticed the iPhone app, Living Earth does this and works for all locales, so does the iPhone lock screen. A custom formatter such as, [dateFormatter setDateFormat:@"EEEE, MMMM"]; won't change with localisation. Can anyone shed some light on how to accomplish this? None of the options for date style seem to do this. Thanks

• UnitTest++ creates cmd windows, which can't be closed

  Hello, I have a setup for using UnitTest++ like this in VS2008. Sometimes the cmd window, which shows the console output of the unit tests just hangs. I can move the window, resize and stuff, but I'm unable to close it. I see the window in the App tab of the Task Manager, but not in the Process tab, "Switch to process" doesn't work either. Stop debugging or closing VS is also no help, it seems VS has lost control over this window. If this cmd window is lost, I'm unable to shutdown my computer, which is pretty annoying Any hints?

  I have a webserver (Ubuntu 12.04 with LAMP) using Virtualmin / Webmin. Because I just moved from a Cpanel system, I am having a nightmare configuring the DNS! Using intoDNS.com, the failed reports are: Mismatched NS records WARNING: One or more of your nameservers did not return any of your NS records. DNS servers responded ERROR: One or more of your nameservers did not respond: The ones that did not respond are: 123.123.123.123 213.251.188.141x Multiple Nameservers ERROR: Looks like you have less than 2 nameservers. According to RFC2182 section 5 you must have at least 3 nameservers, and no more than 7. Having 2 nameservers is also ok by me. Missing nameservers reported by your nameserver You should already know that your NS records at your nameservers are missing, so here it is again: ns1.mydomain.com. sdns2.ovh.net. SOA record No valid SOA record came back! MX Records WWW A Record ERROR: I could not get any A records for www.mydomain.com! Step-by-Step of my Attempt In my domain registrar (Namecheap), I registered ns1.mydomain.com as a nameserver, pointing to the IP address of my web server which is running bind9. • Need help with ConnectionString value in C#

  Hi I have an idea and I want to apply it to my Application (C# .NET). When we connect to a DB (MS SQL Server 2008) in VS 2008, the ConnectionString saved in the Application Setting and it's a static varriable (no one can edit it unless you edit it inside VS 2008). I want a way to let my Application search for MS SQL Server and save it to Application Setting and use it to connect to my DB Programmatically. When my application start, the first thing to do is checking the ConnectionString if vaild, NOT Empty and test connection to MS SQL Server Successfully so if there is a proplem I think to show a window form to let the user enter some data like username and password for MS SQL Server 2008 Is there any way to do it?

  I am running SQL server 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 on Vista. I downloaded SQL server compact 3.5 SP1 from Microsofts website and ran the install. When I open the server explorer for any windows application that I'm working on with VS 2008 and right click on data connections and then on add a connection a dialog comes up with available data providers. The problem is that SQL compact is not one of the options. Any idea why SQL compact is not showing up as a data provider in VS 2008?

  I have a solution with several Silverlight Class Libraries and a Silverlight Application in it. I was originally built in VS 2008 with Silverlight 3.0. What changes do I need to make so that it builds using Silverlight 4.0? I already have VS 2010 and the Silverlight 4.0 toolkit installed. When I opened the project it seems to have upgraded to .NET 4.0 in my ASP.NET Web Project but not the Silverlight projects. Pretty sure they are still building against .NET 3.5 and Silverlight 3.0. • Use DivX settings to encode to mp4 with ffmpeg

  I'm used to use VirtualDub to encode a video to AVI container with DivX-codec (and MP3 for audio). Now I'm planning to use ffmpeg to encode videos to MP4 container with h264-codec. What I've figured out is that I need to use libx264 and one of those presets to make anything work. However, I'm amazed about the video bitrate ffmpeg uses for encoding. I tried other presets, but they don't use my specified bitrate. Just in case you wonder how I came up with the 1978000, I'm using this formula which I found valid for DivX-files (I'm guessing the bitrate won't change that much for h264): width * height * 25 * 0.22 / 1000 I'm not sure if the 0.22 correlates with the CRF somehow. Overall I forgot to say the I will use a two-pass scenario, which is why I don't use the CRF here. I will try to read more about this. Currently I'm just trying to get something running that shows me that I'm doing something right (ffmpeg isn't the easiest tool to understand ;)). • Best way for programmers to edit XAML

  I was wondering how programmers chose to edit XAML. Most of the programmers I speak to seem to edit the raw XML, but that seems nuts to me since it is such a natural thing for a more visual editor (of course you often have to get down to the raw code ultimately, but isn't there a better way to lay out a grid, or edit a template, or add non c# triggers or manage commands? The one that really set me off was editing a menu -- Visual Studio 1.0 had a better menu editor for C++ than the raw XAML editing experience.) When I edit .aspx files I use a visual editor much of the time, and then for the raw stuff I get into the html code. I am aware of Expression Blend, but that seems far more focused on artistic types and GUI experts rather than programmers. Does anyone have recommendations for a better editor for XAML than VS? Especially so since VS seems to have real nasty problems with XAML editing too, like bugginess and poor performance? Appreciate your helping this XAML newbie.

• Where to start with Direct2d?

  Interested in learning Direct2d to create a Windows 8 app, but after 2 hours of research I'm thoroughly confused. Samples like this (Creating a Simple Direct2D Application) seem to assume you know what an HWND and HRESULT is, and how the Windows API works in general. My question is this: do you need an understanding of the Win API, COM, OLE, and all this other Windows stuff in order to get a good grasp on Direct2d/3d? All the other barebones tutorials assume that you know all this stuff and I don't really know where to start. The startup D2D project in VS 2012 gives you a bunch of files but there's no main or WinMain... How does this program even start?

  I'm new to stackoverflow and have been reading through a bunch of the "highest voted" questions for GWT. Several of these questions talk about the pitfalls or problems with GWT. In the articles: Which Javascript framework (jQuery vs Dojo vs … )? and Biggest GWT Pitfalls?, some posters seem to suggest that GWT is not lightweight enough or that there are better alternatives that may be used. Do most of you feel that there are problems with GWT that have not been fixed with GWT 2.0 -- which would make you inclined to suggest using a simpler framework for a new project? To some extent, shouldn't GWT be somewhat future-proof (since you don't have to worry about it changing drastically from release to release and since it is backed by Google)? I realize that the answer to this question depends greatly upon what you want to do or what you wish to make. I am looking at this from the perspective of starting a new web application that will eventually be used by millions of users.

• haystack's RealTimeSearchIndex causes django to hang on data entry

  I'm using django-haystack and a xapian backend with real time indexing (haystack.indexes.RealTimeSearchIndexing) of model data and it works fine on my Ubuntu server. However, it causes django to hang upon data entry when I deployed the app on a RHEL5 server. Everything is hunky dory if I switch to a standard SearchIndex. Running ./manage.py rebuild_index manually works fine too. The major differences between the two setups would be the versions of Python (2.4.3 vs 2.6.4) and the xapian (1.0.4-1 vs 1.0.15). Any suggestions on what may be the problem? Nothing interesting appears in the logs, and I've tried different databases (mysql, sqlite3) and deployment methods (mod_python, wsgi) with no luck yet. I have noted the warning on the haystack docs stating that RealTimeSearchIndex is only handled gracefully with a Solr backend, however I'm running a very traffic site with only occasional writes so I'm fine with some CPU overheads on writes.

  Hey I am looking for theory, algorithms and similar for how to compare music. More specifically, I am looking into how to dupecheck music tracks that have different bitrates or perhaps slightly different variations (radio vs album version), but otherwise sound the same. Use cases for this include services such as Grooveshark, Youtube, etc. where they get a lot of duplicate tracks. I am also interested in text comparisons (Britney Spers vs Britney Spears, how far they deviate, etc.) although this is secondary and I already have some sources to go on in this area. I am mostly interested in codec-agnostic comparison techniques and algoritms (assuming a "raw" stream), but codec-specific resources are appreciated. I am aware of projects such as musicbrainz.org, but have not investigated it further, and would be interested if such projects could be of help in this endeavor.

  I have a lovely ancient ergonomic keyboard (no name SK - 6000) connected via a DIN-ps/2 adapter to a ps/2-usb adapter to my docking station. After Grub it stops working. It takes either suspending and waking up or replugging it while Linux is running to get it to work. No extra kernel modules get loaded for this. When it works and I restart without power off, it will work immediately.   We have an ASP.Net MVC 1.0 solution developed using Visual Studio 2008 and .net Framework 3.5SP1. We would now like to upgrade Visual Studio to 2010. If we just open the solution in VS 2010 and do not change the framework version, can we just continue to develop as before? If we open the solution in VS 2010 and change the framework version to 4.0, will we automatically start using ASP.Net MVC 2.0, or will it continue to use ASP.Net MVC 1.0?   I'm running SQL Server 2008 Express on a windows 2012... or at least I'm trying to :) My problem is that I have opened the ports I thought I needed but still I cant manage to connect to the database from Visual Studio. As proof I have a screenshot of my firewall settings: Everything works fine if I turn the firewall off, but who wants that while connected to the internet? So I wonder what the heck is wrong?   Plot the function f(x) = 1.5x / x-4 for -10 equal or less than X equal or less than 10. Notice that the function have a vertical asymptote at x = 4. Plot the function by creating two vectors for the domain of x. The first vector (call it x1) with elements from -10 to 3.7, and the second vector (calle it x2) with elements from 4.3 to 10. For each of the X vector create a Y vector (call them y1 and y2) with the corresponding values of Y according to the function. To plot the function make two curves in the same plot (y1 vs. x1 and y2 vs. x2).

• Media Foundation: another way to call IMFActivate::ShutdownObject?

  Hi, Here is a question about IMFActivate::ActivateObject and IMFActivate::ShutdownObject in Media Foundation. According to MSDN, the component that calls ActivateObject is responsible for calling ShutdownObject. But there are two examples not following this rule: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd388503%28VS.85%29.aspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd317912%28VS.85%29.aspx In these two examples, they call ActivateObject and then release IMFActivate interface without calling ShutdownObject method. This is going to lead to memory leaking, right? Or there is another way to release the resource occupied by the object? (Can I use IMFMediaSource::Shutdown to release the object instead of using IMFActivate::ShutdownObject) Thanks in advance.

• QWT plugin for QT 4.5

  Hi, I have gotten the latest QWT 5.1.2 for QT 4.5 and managed to get it to complie. I am now trying to get the plugin to work in QT Designer (with VS intergration). I have placed the plugin files into the plugin/designer folder, but when attempting to load, I hit this error Cannot load library qwt_desginer_plugin5.dll: The specified module cannot be found. I've done some search on this issue, one page which suggest moving the plugin to the VS intergration folder - which does not exist for Program Files\Nokia\Vs4Addin. My QT Designer is a debug-and-relase build. (That is, if I use a debug build of the plugin it would complain that it is expecting a release).
