• iPhone SDK UIScrollView doesn't get touch events after moving it

  Hi! I'm subclassing UIScrollView and on the start I fill this ShowsScrollView with some items. After filling it, I setup frame and contentSize to this ShowsScrollView. Everything works fine for now, i get touches events, scrolling is working.. But after rotation to landscape, I change x and y coordinates of ShowsScrollView frame, to move it from bottom to top right corner. Then I resize it (change width and height of ShowsScrollView frame) and reorder items in this scroll. At the end I setup new contentSize. Now i get touches event only on first 1/4 of scrollview, scrolling also work only on 1/4 of scrollview, but scroll all items in scrollview. After all actions I write a log: NSLog(@"ViewController: setLandscape finished: size: %f, %f content: %f,%f",scrollView.frame.size.width,scrollView.frame.size.height, scrollView.contentSize.width, scrollView.contentSize.height ); Values are correct: ViewController: setLandscape finished: size: 390.000000, 723.000000 content: 390.000000,950.000000 On rotating back to portrait, I move and resize all thing back and everything works fine.. Please help!

  Hello everybody, I am creating an app for the iPhone that fetches a specific page from a website, but to be able to view this site you need to log in with a username and a password. • Deserializing a complex JSON result (array of dictionaries) with TouchJSON

  I did a few tests with TouchJSON last night and it worked pretty well in general for simple cases. I'm using the following code to read some JSON content from a file, and deserialize it: NSString *jsonString = [[NSString alloc] initWithContentsOfFile:@"data.json"]; NSData *jsonData = [jsonString dataUsingEncoding:NSUTF32BigEndianStringEncoding]; NSError *error = nil; NSDictionary *items = [[CJSONDeserializer deserializer] deserializeAsDictionary:jsonData error:&error]; NSLog(@"total items: %d", [items count]); NSLog(@"error: %@", [error localizedDescription]); That works fine if I have a very simple JSON object in the file (i.e. a dictionary): {"id": "54354", "name": "boohoo"} This way I was able to get access to the array of values, as I wanted to get the item based on its index within the list: NSArray *items_list = [items allValues]; NSString *name = [items_list objectAtIndex:1]; (I understand that I could have fetched the name with the dictionary API) Now I would like to deserialize a semi-complex JSON string, which represents an array of dictionaries. An example of such a JSON string is below: [{"id": "123456", "name": "touchjson"}, {"id": "3456", "name": "bleh"}] When I try to run the same code above against this new content in the data.json file, I don't get any results back. My NSLog() call says "total items: 0", and no error is coming back in the NSError object. Any clues on what is going on? I'm completely lost on what to do, as there isn't much documentation available for TouchJSON, and much less usage examples.

• Preserving case in HTTP headers with Ruby's Net:HTTP

  Although the HTTP spec says that headers are case insensitive; Paypal, with their new adaptive payments API require their headers to be case-sensitive. Using the paypal adaptive payments extension for ActiveMerchant (http://github.com/lamp/paypal_adaptive_gateway) it seems that although the headers are set in all caps, they are sent in mixed case.   Since I updated today to GAE 1.7.2.1, I'm having validation errors in eclipse in all my jdoconfig.xml files. I have the default jdoconfig.xml content : [...] <jdoconfig xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jdo/jdoconfig" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jdo/jdoconfig"> [...] And eclipse validation throws: Referenced file contains errors (http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jdo/jdoconfig). For more information, right click on the message in the Problems View and select "Show Details..." When clicking on details I can see a bunch of lines like: s4s-elt-character: Non-whitespace characters are not allowed in schema elements other than 'xs:appinfo' and 'xs:documentation'. Saw 'var_U = "undefined";'. In different lines and different content in "Saw ... " It occurs in every single project I start using the "New Web Application Project..." from the google plugin. So does anyone have this problem? Any fix?

  Hello, im trying to use the jQuery UI autocomplete to communitate with a webservice with responseformate JSON, but i am unable to do so. My webservice is not even executed, the path should be correct since the error message does not complain about this. What strikes me is the headers, response is soap but request is json, is it supposed to be like this? • CSS positioning is weird when reducing the viewport

  I have a little meditation for you ... I run a site using a liquid tri-col layout with a header. The layout runs nicely since more than a decade with all browsers I ever dared to try. It is based on absolute positioning in CSS. This page provides an example of the actual site. Watching the page from my tablet I found that the right column overlaps the center matter. Further investigation using Firebug showed that once the center content reaches 360px width, the right margin of the div shrinks. Why is that? Since Firefox and Android render the same, I guess that this is something, which is actually supposed to be. However, I tried to make virtue out of necessity and experimented setting min-width for body and content and made the body scroll overflow. The body actually scrolls, but the right column is positioned on the right edge of the viewport instead of the body element (Firefox). Is this intentional CSS standard? Any ideas how to solve the presentation on small displays? Thanks for your efforts,  – lars.

  Hi I'm having a bit of a nightmare here! I'mv trying output a webform to html using page.rendercontrol and htmltextwriter but it is resulting in a blank email. I tried this fix: http://forums.asp.net/p/1016960/1368933.aspx#1368933 and added: public override void VerifyRenderingInServerForm(Control control) { return; } But now the errror I get is: VerifyRenderingInServerForm(Control)': no suitable method found to override Does anyone have a fix for this? • Why is my WPF splash screen progress bar out of sync with the execution of the startup steps?

  Hello, I've implemented a simple WPF splash screen window which informs the user about the progress of the application startup. The startup steps are defined this way: var bootSequence = new[] { new {Do = (Action) InitLogging, Message = "Init logging..."}, new {Do = (Action) InitNHibernate, Message = "Init NHibernate..."}, new {Do = (Action) SetupUnityContainer, Message = "Init Unity..."}, new {Do = (Action) UserLogOn, Message = "Logon..."}, new {Do = (Action) PrefetchData, Message = "Caching..."}, }; InitLogging etc. are methods defined elsewhere, which performs some time consuming tasks. The boot sequence gets executed this way: foreach (var step in bootSequence) { _status.Update(step.Message); step.Do(); } _status denotes an instance of my XAML splash screen window containing a progress bar and a label for status information. Its Update() method is defined as follows: public void Update(string status) { int value = ++_updateSteps; Update(status, value); } private void Update(string status, int value) { var dispatcherOperation = Dispatcher.BeginInvoke( DispatcherPriority.Background, (ThreadStart) delegate { lblStatus.Content = status; progressBar.Value = value; }); dispatcherOperation.Wait(); } In the main this works, the steps get executed and the splash screen shows the progress. But I observed that the splash screen for some reasons doesn't update its content for all steps. This is the reason I called the Dispatcher async and wait for its completion. But even this didn't help. Has anyone else experienced this or some similar behaviour and has some advice how to keep the splash screen's update in sync with the execution of the boot sequence steps? I know that the users will unlikely notice this behaviour, since the splash screen is doing something and the application starts after booting is completed. But myself isn't sleeping well, because I don't know why it is not working as expected... Thx for your help, Denny

What I'm finding is that when I use Google's Webmaster Tools to fetch my site (to see what a GoogleBot sees) it sees this.   I want to bind a content of Label to the selected item of a datagrid. I thought the 'current item' binding expression would work, but it is not. • Is there a problem with scrollTop in Chrome?

  I am setting scrollTop and scrollLeft for a div that I am working with. The code looks like this: div.scrollLeft = content.cx*scalar - parseInt(div.style.width)/2; div.scrollTop = content.cy*scalar - parseInt(div.style.height)/2; This works just fine in FF, but only scrollLeft works in chrome. As you can see, the two use almost identical equations and as it works in FF I am just wondering if this is a problem with Chrome? • How to ajax load a parent-child listbox in JQuery/Asp.net MVC popup?

  hi guys, i'm new to the asp.net mvc. and i have a link which will popup show a 3 panes listbox which allows the user to select country, region and language. and when the user click on the language, this will redirect back to the controller and refresh the page and show the proper localized content. i was thinking of using a jquery dialog/modal to do this but so i try using fancybox for this which will load the hidden div of the three listbox up. unfortunately, on clicking on the first listbox, the page will call a jquery event which will show the populate the 2nd list box in which the lightbox will close. is there a better way to do this? or i'm not using the proper jquery plugin? i was thinking of putting the whole three panes inside a html file and do ajax call to get the content into that page and load the listbox like that and just use the html popup like a normal popup. Any suggestions? i'm stuck, help!!

  I want to use the following code to login to a website which returns its cookie information in the following manner: Set-Cookie: 19231234 Set-Cookie: u2am1342340 Set-Cookie: owwjera I'm using the following code to log in to the site, but the print statement at the end doesn't output anything about "set-cookie". On Snow leopard, the library seems to automatically pick up the cookie for this site and later connections sent out is set with correct "cookie" headers. But on leopard, it doesn't work that way, so is that a trigger for this "remember the cookie for certain root url" behavior?   Hi, I've a scenario where I need to bind to an interface - in order to create the correct type, I've got a custom model binder that knows how to create the correct concrete type (which can differ). However, the type created never has the fields correctly filled in.   Hi, I want to put individual JComboBoxes into each cells of a JTable. ie. The JComboBox content is not identical for each cell. I basically would like to be able to just call the following code to add a row of JComboBox into the JTable. Anyone has any idea?   I want to crawl useful resource (like background picture .. ) from certain websites. It is not a hard job, especially with the help of some wonderful projects like scrapy. The problem here is I not only just want crawl this site ONE TIME. I also want to keep my crawl long running and crawl the updated resource. So I want to know is there any good strategy for a web crawler to get updated pages? Here's a coarse algorithm I've thought of. I divided the crawl process into rounds. Each round URL repository will give crawler a certain number (like , 10000) of URLs to crawl. And then next round. The detailed steps are: crawler add start URLs to URL repository crawler ask URL repository for at most N URL to crawl crawler fetch the URLs, and update certain information in URL repository, like the page content, the fetch time and whether the content has been changed. just go back to step 2 To further specify that, I still need to solve following question: How to decide the "refresh-ness" of a web page, which indicates the probability that this web page has been updated ? Since that is an open question, hopefully it will brought some fruitful discussion here.

  I'm keeping the main content area of the webpage small, so that footer navigation can be seen "above the fold". This is done by javascript setting the main content <div> thus: sec.style.height = '265px'; sec.style.overflow = 'hidden'; And then using javascript to insert a button to change the style back to normal: sec.style.height = 'auto'; The problem is that the cut-off point of 265px (dictated by the size of an image which I don't want to hide) doesn't quite match the gap between lines of text. This means that there the tops of tall letters show as funny little marks. Is there any way to hide text which is partially showing in a <div style="overflow: hidden;">?   I am trying to implement sharing a simple string inside my application. Obviously everything other than Facebook works. As far as I know, now I have to use their Facebook SDK to post statuses on a wall. However, if I do implement it using their SDK, is there a way to have it incorporated into the chooser (default or ShareActionProvider) and somehow override it and insert the Facebook SDK's implementation?   I am trying to put second language on my webpage. I decided to use different files for different languages told apart by path - language/pl/projects.ln contains Polish text, language/en/projects.ln - English. Those extensions are just to tell language files from other, the content is simple php: $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["title"] = "MATERIALY"; $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["short_text"] = "Jakis tam tekst na temat materialów"; $lang["desc"]["services"]["title"] = "USLUGI"; $lang["desc"]["services"]["short_text"] = "Jakis tam tekst na temat uslóg"; And then on the index page I use it like so: session_start(); if (isset($_SESSION["lang"])) { $language = $_SESSION["lang"]; } else { $language = "pl"; } include_once("language/$language/projects.ln"); print $lang["desc"]["fabrics"]["title"]; The problem is that if the session variable is not set everything works fine and array item content is displayed but once I change and set $_SESSION["lang"] nothing is displayed. I tested if the include itself works as it should by putting print "sth"; at the beginning of projects.ln file and that works all right both with $_SESSION["lang"] set and unset. Please help.
